Name: Atlas Pan Booker
Meaning: “Enduring”
Nickname(s): Map
Age: 22 (born November 3, 2010)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality:
•Stubborn •Strong-willed •Cheerful •Positive (naturally pessimistic) •Moody •Outgoing •Social •Imaginative •Unreligious •People-pleaser •Geek •Competitive •Prideful •Overthinks •Clumsy
Atlas is definitely an outgoing social freak and tries his best to fit in as he hates being alone. Unfortunately, this causes him to have fake friends. He will admit that the quiet can be enjoyable but the only time he willingly companionless is when he’s out riding or hunting. But when he is by himself, he keeps close to camp or another party. He is frightened by the unknown and of time, which he constantly wonders who controls it. He is an imaginative person and believes that there are great beings in the world who weave the patterns of time and possibilities by controlling the things on earth. Thus he trusts that they choose when he dies, but he is unsure of what happens next. So for comfort, he half-way convinces himself that he will also become a Time-Weaver, which he likes to call them. However, he is not religious to them as he does not believe in Helheim of Norse mythology. If he did, he would say he’s living in it.
Once Atlas believes in something or someone, he will not abandon that belief until something major occurs. He is strong-willed and stubborn. He is not flexible and cannot understand why another person disagrees with him as he cannot see both sides of the glass. He will not be harsh or cold to the other person, but will avoid that topic at all cost. He does not like conflict amongst friends and can be a people-pleaser to keep the peace.
Atlas is usually a cheerful, positive person despite the sorrow that envelopes his world. He believes that people should try to see the good in everything, his mother taught him that. She also schooled him in her morals which was simply four things: be a light in the darkness, fix your mistakes, be humble and be kind even though you don’t want to. Does he follow these four rules? He tries to, but it’s hard. Parts of the ethics are the reason why he suppresses his natural tendencies as a pessimist. He tries his best to burn bright, but unfortunately all candles will become stumps of wax. After a couple months of being very uplifting and good he finds himself depleted and a charred stump of only grumpiness, intolerance and indifference. Thus his temperament is fairly inconsistent.
Atlas loves a challenge and will often try to compete with the other hunters to see who has caught the best meat. He will accept any type of competition as long as it is reasonable. He does have an ego as he often wins the races with his long legs and it hurts his pride whenever he looses. But this never stops him from participating because he enjoys the thrill of a non-life-risking exploit of youth. He will try to impress his crush by his physical deeds, accomplishments and purposefully bragging.
Alone, Atlas talks to himself out loud. He likes to sing, but is too nervous to in public. Mainly because he knows he sounds like a dying toad mixed with a choking squirrel. Whenever he does, he makes it all up as he goes along whether it makes sense or not. He is extremely right-brain dominant and struggles with more complicated arithmetic. He does love to read, however, and will fanboy with you over the only book he owns; Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. He hides this side of him most of the time, but he’s waiting closely for someone to mention a Mr. Darcy or an Elizabeth Bennet. He also is the horse girl. His father bred Irish Sport Horses and jumped them. He gave one to Atlas. His name is Wynni, but Wyn for short. He’s a chestnut and white skewbald stallion who stands at 16.2 hands high (5.4 feet at the withers).
Appearance:
Atlas is tall and gangly which is due to an ectomorph body type. He stands at 6’ 1” and weighs about 174 lb. His height his made up of mostly his lanky legs. His rectangular torso is fit but not pronounced, as are all of his other muscles. He was not made to fight with brute strength and he has a tendency to rely on his weapons too heavily. He can run like a roadrunner, however, skinny legs and all. His arms are like lean branches, but they don’t look quite like twigs. He uses a recurve bow and arrows to take down prey and this daily routine helps build his back and arm muscle. However, his body does have limits and he cannot pull more than sixty pounds. He is most comfortable at fifty. His father taught him how to shoot. His lean build aids in running, but his height is an issue when it comes to agility. He has decent endurance, but slow acceleration and cannot use his strength as a major asset because he lacks the muscle. He tries to keep at a distance whenever he’s killing zombies because he has the equipment and he isn’t made for one-one combat. Plus if you’re fifty meters away, they can’t bite you.
His heart-shaped face is lightly speckled with freckles which mainly coat his average-sized nose. His slightly hooded, almond-shaped eyes are a gentle brown that occasionally shift into a hazel. His facial skin looks oily and he constantly has to wash his face almost everyday to reduce his acne. This he does not do, so his face is speckled with it and he might have some scarring. His skin is a light coffee-color which he gets from his mother, as his birth father was very pale. His hair is a sleek deep brown that gets darker at the roots. He keeps it parted, right to left side. It is manageable, but exceedingly greasy and looks constantly damp. His ears seem moderately sized, but are slightly more on the larger side. His lips are thin and his smile broad with dimples on both sides of his face whenever he grins or laughs.
He holds a rather innocent look on his face as he should for he is innocent. He has never killed another human, only monsters and creatures of the wood. He does hold a couple of scars, most of them are from himself as he can be slightly clumsy. There is one down the outside of his right forearm which occurred from when he was playing with his knife. He has a scratch on his other forearm from an angry bobcat that he had to kill and different sized marks on his shins from a rooster.
Attire:
As a hunter, he prefers camouflage that coats his entire being, but he’s also found in different shades of blue or green as his top. He’s realized that it doesn’t matter if he blends in because his usual prey (deer) are colorblind. He does make sure that he isn’t in solid colors because he thinks deer would find it weird for grey thing pointing a sharp stick at them. This is him overthinking.
His shirt is a dark green with splatters of mud all splashed around it (it needs a good washing). It is long sleeved and on his right forearm is a leather armguard. On his hands there are soft deerskin leather, with extra padding on the tips of his left hand. His pants are always camouflage, however. He is shoes are comfortable, soft-soled, leather boots whose soles are slowly getting worn out. These ankle boots are exclusively only for hunting. They are smaller so they’re easy to pack. Whenever he is just out and about he wears an old pair of work shoes whose soles are rubber.
Accessories:
Atlas is not one for jewelry, but he does wear a leather thong necklace that carries a small compass.
Strengths:
Accuracy—Atlas can shoot his recurve and hit his target decently from fifty meters away. Any more then that his aim gets a bit off, but it usually kills the beast.
Riding—Atlas can ride a horse fairly well. He rides him occasionally during hunts as deer are too big for him to drag home on his own. He is fairly dependent on his horse to get the job done.
Swimming—Atlas knows how to swim and is decent at it. He’s not the quickest or the strongest, but good enough so that he won’t die. He cannot, however, save a drowning person because he lacks strength.
Weaknesses:
Strength—Atlas is not physically built for one-on-one. He is strong enough to pull back his bow, but he does lack muscle to land a heavy punch or to wrestle.
Balance—Atlas is clumsy sometimes and will trip over his own feet. He always knocks down and runs into things when out and about. He seems to have control over this because he can stalk quietly. Does he really? No, no he can’t.
Intellect—Atlas is not the brightest bulb in the locker. He’s not dumb either, but he’s fairly easy to manipulate. He won’t be the one solving the riddles, but he’ll try. It’ll always result in something outrageous because of his wild imagination and overthinking abilities.
Likes:
-Music, he can’t dance very well but he enjoys it and will dance. People just laugh a lot at him when he does.
-Singing, he can’t sing either…
-Pride & Prejudice, the only book he owns (it was his mother’s favorite). He loves the book, characters and the places. He also loves the drama.
-Competitions, he’s extremely competitive and will race you anywhere (as long as it’s reasonable)
-Horses, he owns a horse, his father owned horses and bred them.
-Shooting, he enjoys archery because it’s a satisfying sport where you can see improvement and the thuck! of an arrow hitting the bale is so complete feeling. It’s especially rewarding when they’re all bunched at the center.
-Making things up, he likes to daydream when he’s alone or before bed. Mainly when it was back before the apocalypse and he didn’t have to worry about dying.
Dislikes:
-Being lied to, because who does like it? He especially doesn’t because he’s had a history of fake friends.
-Dogs, he doesn’t like dogs because they’re noisy on the hunt and because they like to chase him.
-School, it’s so boring
-Being laughed at, he gets laughed at a lot because he continues to do things that are silly or that he’s bad at. Why? He’s not too sure.
-Killing, as a hunter he has to kill to survive and he understands this, but to see such a soft-faced doe dead is sad. He wants it to go back in time where he didn’t have to shoot and skin his own meat.
-Bossy people, why don’t they do it themselves? He understands the ranking system and will follow his leaders’ commands. But his equals telling him what to do irritates him.
-The Unknown, it’s a natural fear to be scared of what will happen next.
-Time, he hates time because it is so confusing. He also hates it because it is either too slow or too fast.
Reputation:
He’s the one who likes to participate in everything and is often the one laughed at. This is caused because he’s a klutz on camp. He’s also the guy-with-the-horse because that’s exactly what he is. He’s also archery-boy and skinny-bones for the same reason.
He’s seen as light hearted and a goof-off, someone without a care in the world; immature and irresponsible (although he get’s his job done). He is also seen as the annoying, positive mr. unicorns and flowers because he tries to be a bright light. He can get on other peoples nerves easily.
Weapons:
Takedown Recurve Bow & Arrows—father taught him how to shoot. A Takedown Recurve Bow is a bow whose limbs can be unscrewed off and replaced with limbs with either a heavier or lighter poundage. The limbs curve the opposite way of the archer when in use. The arrows are all cut the same length, some are carbon and made by companies before the apocalypse. Others (the majority) are homemade grey-goose feathers. The fletching glue is made from the hooves of deer and horses.
Skinning knife—more of a tool rather than a weapon. It is used to skin animals’ hides which are a valuable part as they can be used for many different things. The blade curves upward at the tip like a scythe except the edge is on the outside. The handle is made of oak wood. This is the knife that he cut his arm with by flipping it around.
Rank: Hunter, he is content with this position.
Affiliations: (Who do they associate themselves with and what are they to this person?)
Francis L. Fox & Jimmy Lee Larter
They are the other hunters and he likes them both relatively fine. He likes to compete with them in hunting (whether they know it or not) although his horse does give him an advantage.

Kin:
Father (unknown): Helios Ares Story
Helios left shortly after learning Clymene was pregnant. Atlas never knew him and never called him father and never will.
Step-Father (unknown): Iapetus Phaethon Booker
Iapetus is at forty-eight years of age. He's proud of Atlas for all of the achievements he had done. They never really saw eye-to-eye on things. They do share the bond over horses, however.
Mother (unknown): Clymene Timothy Booker
Clymene is forty-four years old. She had Atlas when she was twenty-two and ten years later had his brother. She taught Atlas his moral code and he is her favorite.
Brother (unknown): Meneotius Timothy Booker
Meneotius goes by his middle name, Timothy. It was also his mother’s maiden name. Timothy is currently twelve years old. He is a bit jealous of his older brother, and envies him of his accomplishments. They are not close because of the broad age difference.
Voice:
Atlas’ voice is loud and has a slight groveling at the end when he speaks. His voice is kinda light but it’s still masculine. He originates from southern West Virginia. He’s used to the country slang and talk. His own southern accent is very light, but he does occasionally throw in some “y’alls” and “down yonders”. Sometimes his vowels sound very southern and he can pronounce things awkwardly.
His normal voice is the simplier tone, pattern and more normal. Used when he's kinda safe, confident or angry (usually louder here). He can speak a cool politeness (usually decked with flattery) when he's forcing himself to be polite and it is usually reserved for enemies and people he is currently wary of. I dunno where he gets it, but probably from Pride & Prejudice.
Handwriting:
Atlas’ writing is fairly messy because he doesn’t try. He can make it a neat, simple print with the bad grammar and the occasional incorrect spelling. He cannot write in cursive, nor can he read it easily.
Theme Songs:
Be a light—Thomas Rhett
Humble and kind—Tim McGraw
Something wild—Lindsey Stirley
Part of you world—Jodi Benson
History:
Atlas’ birth father left his mother when he learned that she was pregnant. He lived almost half of his life fatherless.
Atlas bonded with Iapetus slowly over time. He was ten years old when he met him and was suspicious of him. However, he learned to love him with the help that his step-father so happened to own a horse farm. A little brother came into the world and Atlas tried to play with him but it was difficult. So he focused most of his time to horse back riding which Iapetus was teaching. He also taught him archery.
Most of his childhood/teens was fun and engaging although he spent most of it with his horse and bow. He won his 4-H Team’s first archery champion trophy when he was sixteen. He won bronze at the championships when it came to show jumping. Although he spent a deal of time with Iapetus, he was always closer to his mother. Clymene homeschooled him when he was twelve because of a bullying accident. She never gave her youngest son a go at public school.
He had gotten a scholarship at a collage because of his jumping performance and his horse was shipped west with him. He went there when he was nineteen (he took a gap year to travel) and had just decided to quit when the apocalypse began. He’s joined the group and has been with them ever since.
Other:
Atlas cannot remember terminology very well, so he’ll mess up on that. He’s only twenty-two and will act immature and hopefully not enough to get someone killed.
