Name Evangeline James Byrd Nickname Evie Age 25 Gender Female Sexuality Bisexual, leans heavily towards women Birthdate March 16th Zodiac Pisces Aroma Lavender, incense, tobacco Appearance Evie is a bit tall for a woman, standing at somewhere around 5'6. She's a slim woman with slightly tanned skin that's dotted with freckles. Her hair is black and is in between being curly and wavy. It falls just below her shoulder blades. She has a slightly sharp jawline and full lips, paired with an upturned nose. Her eyes are doe-like and framed by long black lashes. Her eyes are a pale green flecked with a darker green, and a little bit of brown. She has rounded brows that she tries her best to maintain. She has freckles along her jaw, scattered on her nose and cheeks, and a few stray ones on her forehead. She has faint freckles all over the rest of her body, prominent on her chest and back. Evie is a pretty woman, save for the scars littered around her body. The most prominent one is a clean scar going across the front of her throat. It was caused by her own stupidity, an accident with a knife. She also has two fang marks on the right side of her neck, the classic mark of a vampire. She hides her scar and the marks with necklaces, or simply with her hair. She has one necklace she never takes off, it's a silver tarot card necklace with 'The Lovers' card engraved into it. It has a little charm with her zodiac sign on it, and when it clinks against the necklace, it makes a sound similar to the bell on a cat's collar. She has a septum piercing as well as two ear piercings. Personality Evie is a very kind and non-judgmental woman. She is quite caring and almost motherly in a way. Though she can be a bit of an airhead or an ignorant person, she will never say anything rude on purpose. She always works out issues or conflicts she has with another person, and does so peacefully without any violence or anger unless it's necessary. She will never raise her voice at anyone, but also wont hesitate to correct them or argue with them about something they said. Evie will also never get snippy with someone no matter how much she wants to, it's just in her nature. She's pretty positive and tries to keep everyone's spirits up, even if she can come off as annoying by doing so. She's very social and enjoys talking and spending time with people, even if she's just sitting in silence with them. She loves physical touch, even if it's just knees brushing together or hands slightly touching. Evie believes that everybody is worthy of love and a second chance unless they prove otherwise. She cannot hate anyone or hold grudges, but she definitely can resent people. Evie is incredibly observant, she always notices if someone's in a bad mood or if something is off. She is quite intuitive, and is rarely wrong when she makes an assumption or feels like something isn't right. Evie is a very romantic woman. She spoils her significant other with gifts and attention. Her main love languages physical touch, quality time, and gift giving. She will give them little things that she found or bought simply because it reminded her of them. She loves to cuddle and will always somehow be touching her significant other, even just slightly. Evie plans tons of dates, romantic nights out or in, and just little get togethers. ~Character Bio~ Name: Salem Morales Age: 22 Gender: Woman Sexuality: Lesbian Appearance: Salem is a hispanic woman standing 5'4 with a sturdy, muscular, and somewhat androgynous build. She has a smooth complexion, smooth features, hazel eyes, and shortly cropped dark curly hair. She typically wears button-down shirts and slacks in muted neutral colors. Notable facets of her wardobe include a double helix piercing on her right ear and an assortment of rings on her fingers. Personality: Salem is a naturally outgoing and expressive person. She enjoys meeting new people and sharing new experiences with a group. While not a confrontational person, she will not hesitate to stand up for those she cares about. While socially extroverted, Salem only allows a few to be truly emotionally intimate with her. It it difficult to earn her trust, but once earned, she is steadfast and loyal. Salem is witty and loves making others laugh. She is typically a carefree person, but incredibly stubbon about certain things. Especially if she feels there is some sort of injustice being perpetrated. If she has made up her mind, it is extremely difficult to persuade her otherwise. Though, this also manifests as a strong drive and determination to achieve her goals. Salem is a flirt, but has never been in a serious relationship before. The concept of emotional intimacy can be scary for her, and can utilize her extraverted nature to conceal these deeper insecurities. Her love languages are physical touch and acts of service. [And with that... I can start with the opening post! It'll be a bit shorter than my usual posts but will get the ball rolling :)]

It was a brisk Saturday evening in the city downtown. The usual bustling of weekenders has subsided as patrons flood into the clubs and bars for nighttime festivities. Inside one such bar, Salem leans against a counterop with a glass of dark liquor in her hand and a small group of others surrounding her in conversation. She just lost a game of pool and purchased the group a round of drinks as penance. "Damn...didn't think it would be so hard to knock balls into pockets." She chuckles and raises her glass to her lips. "But just you wait...I'm gonna train up and be a menace the next time I'm in here!" The group chuckles in response and a flurry of small talk ensues. Salem goes through the motions of socialization, but internally, something doesn't feel quite right. The whole night she has had a prickling premonition on the back of her neck. The feeling of being watched. Though, every time she looks around, nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. No shady characters leering in the corners, no men remaining uncomfortable levels of eye contact... Salem would know. She is a private security officer by trade. Keeping an eye out for bad news is her job. Though, tonight her perception failed to produce any clear results apart from this general feeling of unease. After a half hour of the small talk, she finishes the drink and dismisses herself as she grabs her brown leather jacket and heads for the exit. "Going so soon?" A blonde man in the group raises his eyebrow curiously. "Oh, yeah....I gotta turn in early for tonight. Picked up an extra shift tomorrow and don't wanna be shitfaced. You know how it is." She chuckles and exchanges quick goodbyes before heading out the door. Once outside, her jovial domeanor largely fades as she reaches into her coat pockets for a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. She ignites one and places it to her lips before exhaling a white cloud of smoke. Spotting something out of the corner of her eye, she whips her head around just to see a stray scavenging through trash along the street. "Sheesh...get a grip." Salem chastizes herself and shakes her head before taking another drag of the cigarette and continuing down the street...still wary of why she feels so uncharacteristically vulnerable on this night.

A hand slammed a glass down on an oak table that looked as if it had taken quite a few beatings before. Evie slowly raised her head to look at the woman at the table across from her, necklaces clanging against each other. Her grip on the glass of whiskey that she had slammed on the table tightened as the woman spoke. "Yeah, yeah. I know." Evie growled, glaring at the woman as she droned on. She raised the glass to her lips and chugged the rest of her drink, a look of disgust crossing her face. She stood up and pushed her chair in, sighing as the woman continued. Glancing around the bar, she settled her gaze upon a woman who looked to be around her age, maybe younger. Perfect. Evie grinned to herself as she eyed the woman carefully. She brought a hand up to her neck, running a finger along the two little holes. It had been far too long since she last fed, and now seemed like the perfect opportunity. She quietly watched as the woman chat with a few people before leaving the bar, and Evie took it as her cue to follow. She had done this countless of times, and knew how to blend in. Evie waited for a little bit before leaving the bar, sighing softly as she felt the warm air on her bare stomach. She pulled her phone from the pocket of her jeans and pretended to stare down at it as she came closer to the woman. She still kept her distance, but was close enough to the point where she could smell the smoke from the cigarette the woman held. Evie stole occasional glances at the woman while she pretended to type on her blank phone screen. Her pale green eyes flickered between the woman, her phone, and the city around her. She knew she had to get home soon, but she could make this quick. Her mother was not one to tolerate tardiness, especially to family meetings. Evie watched as the woman got spooked by a stray cat, and for a heartbeat she thought that the woman had caught her. Behind her, she could hear the humming of cars and faint voices. They sounded angry. Her necklaces clinked against each other as she walked, which only irritated her. Evie loved the sound they made, but not tonight. She wasn't sure if the woman could hear them or not, as there was a good bit of distance between them now. But if she did, then that certainly wasn't good. She couldn't draw attention to herself. She was beginning to feel the effects of the drinks she had earlier, and she silently cursed to herself. She knew better than to have too much of that cheap, shitty whiskey.

Salem pockets her cigarettes and lighter, keeping a hand resting in the left pocket of her jacket as she continues walking down the dimly lit city streets. She doesn't know her way around this part of the city very well, and in her disturbed state the streets became a confusing narrow maze. A feeling of panic sets in as her heart rate increases and the searing unease still burdens her subconscious. Okay....okay. Keep your cool. Salem thinks to herself. She takes a moment hone in on the sounds around her. Apart from the normal bustle of vehicles, the streets were fairly devoid of pedestrians. There was only one person a fair distance behind her. As a precaution, Salem takes a left turn at the next block. After turning, she listens in and still hears the sound of footsteps accompanied by the quiet jangles of metal clashing together. Okay...we could just be going the same direction Salem thinks to herself as she continues walking at a casual pace. At the next avaliable intersection, she makes another left turn. Then, at the following intersection, she does the same. Yet, she still hears the faint jangling of metal. Shit...I think I'm being followed. Salem braves a quick glance behind herself and notices the thin, black-haired woman as a wave of relief washes over her. Holy shit, Salem. First a cat, now a woman?? What has got you so jumpy tonight? What is she gonna do?? Salem shakes her head after mentally chastizing herself and walks to the side of the steet. She leans her back against the wall and decides to wait there until the woman passes and continue on her way. As the woman approaches, she establishes eye contact briefly and gives a small nod. Then, she pretends to be preoccupied with a nearby ad posting until the woman passes. She uses her nonchalant domeanor to shield the terrifying, heart racing, inexplicable discomfort that plagues her mind. She feels afraid. She feels vulnerable. She feels hunted. But, why?And by what? What could be causing this? Fuck...did someone put something in my drink? I don't feel woozy...maybe it's some kind of new drug that fucks with your head. Am I hallucinating? Am I going fucking insane??? This scrambled mess of thoughts rushes through Salem's mind in the painful few seconds she waits for this unknown woman to pass.
