Ruina Agarvran"I am many things. A damsel in distress isn't one of them." Full Name Ruina Amlugol Agarvran Meaning of Name Ruina means blazing fire Amlugol means red dragon Agarvran means noble blood Nickname/Aliases Ru(Nickname) Lieutenant Colonel(Rank) Lieutenant Agarvran(Alias) Colonel Agarvran(Alias) Place of Birth Glasglow, Great Britian Age Twenty two Gender Female Species Human Race British Sexual Orientation Heterosexual
"Yes, I know there's a special place in hell for me. It's called a throne."
Appearance Ruina stands at a good 5'8. She is lean and muscular. However it is clear that she is still a female, and her muscle is well defined only at certain times. Her muscles are well defined when her skin is bare. However when she has clothes on, the only muscle that is clear would be those of her arms. She is somewhat tan from spending her days outside and is no longer the milky white she as born as. Her face is rounded at the cheeks, however her jaw is somewhat sharp. Her cheeks are not that defined, however her face does not give off a baby-ish appearance at all.
Her hair is a platinum blonde that is long and wavy. Most of the time she has it up in the Military bun. Yet, sometimes (when she can) she will leave it down and on special occasions she will style it and make it look pretty. Her eyes are a striking grey that darken and grow cold when pissed off, or can lighten up when happy. As someone in the military, she has many scars from battles and from her youth. She does not flaunt them, however she does not exactly hide them either. She does not have too big of scars anywhere as most of them are small and hard to see. Ruina also has a tattoo, on her left ribs. It is a phoenix with its wings outstretched along the ribs.
Despite Ruina's more manly appearance, it is not hard to tell that she is a female. Though she has that broadness and muscle of a man, she also has the lean, petite, and grace of a female. Her face is mainly smooth, however at certain times, lines will appear on her face and she will seem much older than she is. Already her aura gives off one of a determined and confident person. Her teeth are nearly perfectly straight, and are a pearly white. Despite her more broad build, she is surprisingly quick on her feet.
"Everyone wants to be a beast... Until it's time to do what beasts do."
Personality Ruina is not one to play damsel in distress. She is a solider through and through. Fierce and brave she will do just about anything and everything for those she loves and those she considers friends. She is also incredibly intelligent and can be just that hint of cunning. She does not think herself above anyone. Ruina is one to speak her mind. She doesn't often hold back whenever people ask her things. She often likes to say,"If you don't want to know the truth. Don't ask me." Though she is a good solider, do not doubt her when it comes to becoming unresponsive. Just as quick she can ignore orders and do things on her own accord. But never for a dumb reason, there is always a solid reason behind her going off orders.
Ruina loves pranks and she loves to tell jokes. She can be quick with her words which can often get her in trouble. Ruina is definitely not the golden child of the family, however her family does still love her. She is mainly calm and quiet, usually only speaking if needed. She likes to stay to herself, so when they have moments off to have fun and relax, she doesn't often join. Mainly just sitting off to the side and listening quietly. There are moments when she likes to have fun, but that is only with people she knows well and is comfortable with.
This solider is incredibly stubborn as well, if she sets her mind to something it is almost impossible to get her to change her mind. She can be incredibly harsh and sometimes will say things that she does not mean. Ruina, like most, has a mean side. She does not like it, and does her best to keep it away because when she gets mean she gets mean. She will throw just about any insult at you and many do their best to not cross her. She also enjoys nature and often likes to take walks or even do picnics and just listen to nature sing. She also is a decent fan of children and sometimes enjoys to play with them.
"Family don't end in blood."
Relationships Ashera Agarvran Mother. Alive. Ruina and Ashera's relationship is average. Ashera supports her daughter and Ruina does her best to please her mother. Aelrindel Agarvran Father. Alive. Aelrindel and Ruina's relationship is harsh. Aelrindel was an abusive drunk father and anytime he was around, he was not a very nice person. Though he is in jail now, because of Ruina. Which has simply made their relationship worse. Revalor Agarvran Eldest brother. Alive. Older twin to Ayduin. Revalor and Ruina are close. They respect each other and they suffered their childhood together, cowering and praying their father would just go to bed. Ayduin Agarvran Elder brother. Alive. Younger twin to Revalor. Ruina and Ayduin get along great. Both enjoy the same kind of things and both have the same quick tongue so they often mess around with each other and see who can spin the worst insult. They respect each other and they suffered their childhood together, cowering and praying their father would just go to bed.
"The fears we don't face become our limits."

"Colonel O'Sullivan and Lieutenant Colonel Agarvran. You will be taking your battalion to the front lines along with the other battalions. You will be stationed in Dresden, Germany. There you will set up camp with the others. Before leading your battalion into war against the French and German armies."
Lost.
That's where Lieutenant Colonel Ruina Agarvran found herself only days after Admiral Caomh Nevin had given his orders. They had been on their way to Dresden, leading their battalion of 1,000 Irish soldiers to join the rest of the Irish army. However somewhere in Salem, they had been ambushed and the battalion had been split up. Three hundred of the soldiers had been driven towards Dresden, while the other seven hundred had been driven to who knows where. They had managed to lose the ambushers, but were now lost and had no idea where they were going.
What made it worse, was that Colonel Tiernan O'Sullivan was with the group of seven hundred and not driven away with the three hundred. Which meant that Ruina now had to deal with him. Which did not make her happy. For some reason, they just didn't get along. Hell, they barely tolerated each other enough to lead a battalion together. Now they had to work together to find the other three hundred men of their battalion and find their way to Dresden. Not to mention, they were back-up. They had been sent to reinforce the Irish numbers.
Yet, here they were. Somewhere lost in Germany. At least they weren't walking. They at least had horses. Powerful and large Irish horses bred for war. But how long could they last? They'd only brought supplies that would last them to Dresdan. But when they'd gotten the supplies, it had been assumed an easy and short trip all the way to Dresdan. Not to be driven off and lost along the way. Their superiors would not be happy with them.
They had tried to retrace their steps, no luck. The tracks had been covered over by their pursuers, they were gone and now they had no way back. What about the other three hundred? They had been driven in the direction of Dresdan? Had they gotten lost too? Or had they lost the ambushers and got to Dresdan safely? Could they have been driven all the way to Dresdan where the Irish army was. And then the ambushers had to flee because thousands of Irish troops were camped there?
Ruina's mind was racing at a thousand miles an hour. Plans were forming and then being thrown away as they moved. Her grey eyes were constantly on the move. While her hand was rested on her holster. She had a gun, but she'd also brought her faithful sword. Narcoleptic, the sword of Eternal Damnation. A family heirloom that had been passed down for generations. It was still in incredible shape and was a pretty damn good sword. Ruina didn't use it as her main weapon, but she was still pretty handy with it.

Given the dilemma O'Sullivan and Agarvran were currently in, he maintained his pride and held his head high. He spewed when he realized he would have to reside with her for the time being.. He groaned. If they're going to go and find the lost soldiers they had been separated from, they might actually have to get along. He was aware of Ruina. Her body language effectively expressed her emotions. She was plainly under stress, and Tiernan could see that she detested him just as much as he detested her. At least in one aspect, they could both be in agreement. . The temperature got colder as they continued on their journey. Fastly approaching darkness. Tiernan sighed and turned to face Ruina. "We won't be able to find them if we keep going because it's getting rather dark. least not at the moment. We ought to establish a camp." Tiernan made a suggestion while swallowing back his snide, harsh, and severe disdain towards Agarvran. He was aware that they would eventually need to get along. However, that is not yet feasible. "It's all up to you," He'd say. O'Sullivan shrugged, jumped from his horse, reached into his backpack, and sipped some water. He had a private thought. He was unsure about their unexpected stay out here. If the soldiers were lost, would they ever find them? Would they ever prevail in their purpose? He murmured. Throwing his heavy, brown jacket over his shoulders after pulling it out of his luggage. He had tension. He was anxious as well. You don't get lost in the midst of nowhere and your new task is to locate troops who might not even be alive. . Tiernan spotted a small place that was open but had been slightly concealed by big shrubs. He pondered the possibility of setting up camp there. It appeared to be cosy enough to remain in and was nicely camouflaged. Possibly for tonight. "We can pitch our tent there." Tiernan was adamant. "It only applies to tonight. It doesn't look too run-down either! "He joked. Edited at October 11, 2022 09:05 PM by NARNIA

Ruina was ignoring Tiernan, she would not acknowledge him or speak to him unless it was absolutely needed. Though out of the corner of her eye, she could still see him. Which made sense, since they were both leading the troops forward, basically side by side. The seven hundred that were left were riding on their horses behind the two. They were behind them by about ten yards. Close enough to hear orders that were not exactly shouted, but not exactly told at normal level. But far enough away that if Ruina and Tiernan had to speak privately, the soldiers wouldn't overhear anything. Which was both good and bad.
As the temperature dropped, Ruina couldn't help but shiver just a little. She had been trained for all kinds of weather, but that didn't mean she wasn't just a little chilly. When Tiernan began to speak, she listened, she just didn't turn her head towards him. Every word he spoke was true. "Yes. We need to find a place to camp." Came her cold answer. She had nothing else to say to that. What else was there to say? They all knew what kind of place was ideal for camping. Easy to defend, flat land, and a place they could clearly see in all directions. Which would be harder in their current area, but they would have to make do. Not that she wanted to camp, because she was pretty sure she'd have to share a tent with Tiernan. And she could barely even tolerate him as it was, much less having to be in the same tent with him.
Ruina leans down to pat her horse's shoulder, though her eyes were still on the move. They would have to stop soon. She raises her voice,"We are stopping to camp soon. Be on the look out for a ideal camping area." There were murmurs from behind as the order was passed all the way back. Would they be able to find a place that would fit all seven hundred of them? She supposed she was about to find out. She holds in a sigh, as she glances around. How had things gone wrong so fast? They'd lost three hundred of their troops, who may or may not be alive. They were lost and had no idea where Dresdan was. And they now had to find an ideal camping spot.
Her grey eyes finally flicker to Tiernan as he announces that he had found a spot. She examines it, her lips thinning, but she simply nods. "It works." She pulls her horse to a stop, leaning down to pat his shoulder again, before swinging off. Looping the reins over the horse's head, she leads him forward. Calling back to the troops,"We camp here." Another wave of murmurs as once again, the order was passed back throughout the battalion. She stands there, her eyes sweeping the area again. She did not look overly happy at the place, but she didn't look upset either. More like somewhere in between.

"If it weren't good enough, I wouldn't have chosen it." Before getting off his horse, Tiernan muttered a few more things to himself. "We shall spend the night here. There are not enough tents for everyone. This implies that some of you will be sharing." Tiernan spoke bluntly. Before giving any instructions, he cast a short glance Ruina's way. "Lieutenant Colonel Agarvran and I will be sharing a two-person tent." Tiernan's words began to fade as his animosity toward her grew stronger. He observed several of the soldiers returning whispers from one another. He felt a little bit irritated as a result. " Do I make myself CLEAR, Private Barlowe?" Tiernan spoke harshly. The Private leapt and nodded apologetically. " I'm sorry; I couldn't hear you, Private! Tiernan approached Barlowe rapidly and got in his face. Do I DISCLOSE myself, Private Barlowe?" Tiernan shouted out. " Yes, sir!" Barlowe shouted back, erecting himself in response to O'Sullivan's presence. He gave him a long look before responding. "Good. And you, private Chapman. Do I need to say it again?" He gave the young private a stern look. She trembled. Col. "Yes." Chapman groaned. "excellent, then. Two troops will be on duty, rotating shifts throughout the night. Before it is too dark to see, let's start moving." The horses were led by O'Sullivan toward a tiny log. linking them to it . Tiernan lit a small fire, gathered some canned food, and warmed them up as everyone set up their tents. Along with the water cartridges he had on hand, he distributed them to the soldiers. He then began to walk towards the tent that he and Ruina shared whilst resting his bags inside. He took out his notepad from his pack and began to jot down a few notions before putting it away and lying down for a brief period of time. Tiernan exhaled deeply. He was aware that the trip would be lengthy. He decided to try and make an endeavor to get along with Ruina, despite how painful it is for him to do so, especially with her. O'Sullivan was abruptly made aware of the troops' presence by one of them. "Sir, we're done." As said by one of the Privates. "Alright. I'll go shortly. I'm pleased, Garcia." Terenan smiled. "Okay, folks! Please take a seat by the fire while I determine who will be on guard tonight." Hollard, Tiernan. Everybody was seated. whispering to each other. "I genuinely hope it's not me since I could use a good night's sleep. Also, I don't want to be compelled to cooperate with Private Caddel. Never does he stop talking!" A soldier voiced their displeasure. "Speaking of which, Private Smith, you and Private Caddel will be on duty tonight. Sergeant Laurier will promise to keep his presence to a minimum. Sergeant, is that correct?" Tiernan enquired. He grinned at Smith before returning to the audience. "Exactly what happens when you complain too much, I suppose." A Private made a joke. "Private Second Class Wyatt will be on guard with Corporal Hudson at around twelve. After that, it will alternate every several hours. Understood?" Tiernan firmly questioned. "Yes, Colonel O'Sullivan." The soldiers yelled. After sitting up, Tiernan moved toward his tent and yelled one last command. " After the sun has sunk below the horizon, everyone who is not on guard shall be in their tents and will not leave, unless they would like to face the repercussions." After entering his tent and putting on some more comfortable attire, Tiernan meticulously arranged his belongings within. wrapping himself up under his blankets. Ruina's grey eyes flash with annoyance, but she bites her tongue, managing to keep her words to herself. There was no point in starting an argument, here, in front of their battalion. Their troops didn't need to see their leaders fighting, regardless of if they knew that Ruina and Tiernan did not get along. At all. She glances back briefly as Tiernan starts speaking to the battalion. Before returning her gaze forward, pretending to ignore Tiernan as he gave out his orders. Great, she'd have to share a tent. She had a feeling she would, but she really was hoping she'd have to share with someone else. But of course not, if she wanted that, she should have been a Private, or any other rank besides LTC.
Ruina rolls her eyes as Tiernan starts getting angry, and finally she turns around to face Tiernan and the battalion. Her face falling back into a neutral expression. Still just listening. Though she watches as Tiernan gets in Barlowe's face. He was probably going to far, but whatever, he was probably stressed that they were lost and they'd lost some of their battalion. Though, Ruina would not have taken well to Tiernan screaming in her face, so she was glad that she was not his target. It would have ended in an argument, no doubt. Then he turned his attention to a different Private, and with Tiernan's back to her, Ruina rolls her eyes yet again. Though she says nothing as she leads her own horse to a tree, tying him to it after she switched the bridle out for a halter. Before untacking the horse.
Ruina sets up the tent while Tiernan lit the fire, listening to the battalion as they set up their tents. Ruina was inside, setting up her side of the tent when Tiernan came in. The LTC ignores the Colonel, simply continuing in what she was doing. Which was setting up the bed and making sure her side was neat and organized. She wasn't exactly OCD, but it did bother her when things were out of order. And as it always did when she set up camp, it reminded her of home. Before she transferred, when she'd still been in the British army. Sometimes she'd find herself missing them. They were her people, even if she was technically an Irish citizen now, and she missed them dearly. When Ruina left the tent, Tiernan was still scribbling on his notepad. She walks through camp, examining tents and making sure everything was secure. The horses had been gathered in another clearing that was off to the side of their clearing, so they were still seeable, well most of them. There were at least seven hundred horses, that was a lot of horses. She was just checking on her horse when she heard Tiernan summoning the battalion. Ruina stood there for a second, seriously debating on if she should join the rest or just stay where she was. Or better yet, retreat to the tent. But alas, she figured she better go.
Ruina makes her appearance, staying on the opposite side of the fire from Tiernan, she'd tolerate him, but that didn't mean she had to be near him if she could help it. She could hear the troops whispering to each other, making complaints. Which irked her, if she had to deal with Tiernan, then the troops could deal with each other. And she was about to say that, to assign Caddel with Smith, but Tiernan beat her to it. And for once, she was fine with that.
Ruina listens quietly as Tiernan continues on, assigning the rest of the guards. Though she did want to point out that only two guards to patrol and protect seven hundred troops and seven hundred horses. But, she figured, that would be his mistake. Besides, they should be fine. Ruina sighs, as she makes her way to the tent, Tiernan's last order being given out behind her. She ducks inside, changing behind a curtain, before laying down on the bed. Her back to Tiernan's side of the tent. She'd tolerate him... Well, at least she'd try to.
