Maximus His eyes fluttered open, overtaking the darkness of the subordinate den. It wasn't long before his fellow packmates started to wake, he played no mind to them as he exited the den and let out a silent yawn. He trotted over to a medium sized boulder and sat down, examining the pack territory. As he awaited for his task, Maximus began fiddling with his tail. He noticed a few wolves were already up and about chatting or grooming one another. However, he couldn't stop thinking about how peaceful and easy going it has been for them, to peaceful. He was sure something was waiting to strike when Shival Pack would least expect it. Max twitched a ear toward the sound of the alpha's awakening but stayed put, he gave his pack loyalty, food, and protection that's it. He jumped up seeing a flash of fur and hopped off the boulder his brown eyes narrowed as he looked for any sighs of the source, shaking his head maximus called himself a few bad words as he sat back down. It was just his imagination, Maximus was hoping to go on a patrol today, maybe catching a few mangy foxes wandering in the territory. He had to keep his mind busy.

Cambree Wait just another second...now! Cambree leaped into the air, landing sqaurely on the rabbit. A frightened squeal was cut short as her jaws closed around the prey's throat. She licked the little bit of blood off her lips before gently picking up the limp rabbit. As she padded through the forest, sunlight streamed down through the canopy and a gentle breeze stirred the leaves on the trees. The winter months had been harsh and unforgiving so she was grateful that spring was returning and prey was becoming more plentiful. Cambree had really struggled through winter since she had had to rely on only herself to find and hunt food. Her body had grown thinner than normal but as the prey started returning, her strength was also returning. Making her way through the forest, she avoided the places where other wolf scents were stronger. She wanted to get back to her den without any trouble from nearby wolves. While prey had been scarce, Cambree had been forced to hunt closer and closer to the nearby pack's territory. She had even crossed the border a few times when she was desperate and had luckily never been caught. She just hoped that no pack wolves discovered her now.

The alpha The large male's cool yellow gaze swept smoothly across his territory. Dakota's languid movements took him from his shadowed outcropping to the large rock right in front of the sun . A long inhale brought sensory overload to his body. The lingering scents of his pack and the scent of spring were strewn across the territory. Spring has brought plentiful herds of elk and deer, which had made quite the feast for his pack. However, now that the carcasses had been diminished in celebration, it was time to get back to work. Dakota gazed down at his pack, most of them were now awake. He cleared his throat loudly gaining the attention of his pack, "The herds are moving away from the territory due to more lakes and rivers breaking their ice. I want Artemis, Maximus and Ice to come along with me in a hunting patrol. Luna Chance I want you to chose wolves to accompany you in the border patrol, if you see any disturbance or tracks of loners report to me Immediately, do I make myself clear?" The murmurs of yes alpha and a grunt of Maximus signaled the pack meeting was over. With that Dakota grouped up with his hunting patrol trotting through the forest following tracks of the elk herd.

Cambree She was starting to get tired as she made her way through the forest. This time, she had strayed a good ways from her den in search of food, risking the chance of being seen by pack wolves. Luckily, she hadn't needed to cross their borders, but she had gotten too close for comfort. A pang of guilt surfaced as she thought about the times she had taken smaller prey from the pack wolves' territory during the winter months. She hadn't wanted to steal the prey from other wolves and pups that needed it more, but she hadn't wanted to die just yet either. As the emotions started to grow, she shook her head and let the numbess chase away the thoughts. Within seconds, her expression cooled into an indifferent mask. That was her secret. She wasn't really the cold-hearted wolf that she presented herself as but rather she was just afraid to show weakness and that meant not showing emotion. She learned that lesson a long time ago from her days being bullied in her birth pack. Ignoring the risks, Cambree decided to stop by a large oak tree that offered some shade. The heat was starting to get to her, and the rabbit in her jaws wasn't helping her breath intake. She set her prey down before sitting on her haunches and taking a deep breath of fresh air. She didn't dare lie down and make herself more even more vulnerable. Her ears remained perked up on high alert, listening for any signs of approaching wolves as she scanned the brush around her.

Maximus He was hearing the alpha assign patrols. He got hunting party and Max flicked his ears in annoyance. He just wished this one day he could stay cool enjoying the spring breeze in border patrol. Though the pack needed food and Max would put his necessities to the side. He stared at Dakota as he spoke up after finally locating the elk herd and moving away "Alright we all meet up at the watering hole. Then, we can go on a big hunt and take down a calf or injured female elk. Any objections? Ice and Artemis stay away from the borders. Try to stay in the center or if you track something and it leads to the Azca pack. Let it go... Maximus You will go East. I will go South. Hunt small thing's to save our energy for the calf or injured elk. Good Luck. Remember meet at the watering hole to show what we hunted. We'll take it back to camp. And I will gather the whole pack to hunt elk." As told to Max headed East His long legs carried him swiftly through the territory, ears flicking and nose twitching as he went. Maximus knew what he was looking for, in terms of small game, a hare. While he would have liked to come back with something like a deer fawn, Max figured it was better not to scare the deer herds and put them on alert in case they needed to hunt them instead of elk. So, Max set his sights to the ground, his nose quivering with anticipation. He knew hares were difficult to catch, they were fast and agile, able to turn quickly and bolt into their burrows. It wasn't that Max doubted his ability to bring down the faster prey, but he also didn't want to expell all his energy trying to chase down a measley hare. Max's tail flicked as he abruptly stopped, head swing as he located the scent of a lone wolf. It wasn't there any longer, but it had been within the past 30 minutes or so. It was likely Max could track it down, he just had to be quiet and careful as he did, not wanting to alert it before he even saw it. Max finally saw the lone wolf it was a white and black female, Max stalked toward it staying downwind to mask his scents the light steps of his paws taking him forward. Wait for it.....Jump! Max landed onto the wolf his canines inches from its face, his paws on its chest. "Who do you think you are, sitting near the border of The shovel pack! I should rip you apart." He spat brown eyes glowing with anger
