Rosencrantz Male 5 years Personality He might seem a little blunt and short tempered, but not very far down he's quite the floof around those he loves. If he cares about someone, it is hard to really get him mad or bear a grudge. He's very protective of those around him, and he can be quite aggressive and jealous. He doesn't like to share, and he looks after those he cares about possibly at the expense of anyone else. He really likes being the center of attention. WIP Likes/Dislikes He really hates the heat, because he is very fluffy and insulated. He dislikes water, because it soaks his fur, and stays there for a very long time. He hates mud, because the fur on his feet clump it together, and he can't get it off easily. He really likes to eat. Edited at May 9, 2021 10:26 PM by Sir Froggington

A female white wolf wandered aimlessly along a new path through the forest. The moon shone brilliantly on her white pelt showing off the four long scars along her left eye and down her chest. Her sapphire blue eyes scanned the ground not really looking for anything or seeing anything for that matter. She was deeply lost in thought, her mind seeming to constantly come back to one thing, her lost pack. She huffed and mindlessly swiped at a rock watching as it skipped along the path. Her lips pulled back and revealed her long canines, her ears laying back and her claws digging into the soft ground underneath her paws. Her muscles suddenly bunched and she bounded off trying to run from her overwhelming thoughts. Now instead of walking aimlessly she was running aimlessly. Her paws kicking up dirt and leaving deep prints in the soft ground. She closed her eyes and shook her head a small low growl emanating from her throat in frustration. Why couldn’t she just escape these thoughts and these feelings. She ran a few more meters before slowing to a trot again. By now she was panting lightly for breath. She slowed to a stop the thoughts finally seeming to leave her for a moment, closing her eyes she took a deep breath. Her eyes suddenly snapped open as she looked around the scents suddenly filling her nose of someone elses marked territory. ‘Oh no you stupid idiot now you entered someone elses territory!! Can’t you do anything right?” She grit her teeth and turned around intending to try leave the territory unnoticed.

The moon was beaming down upon them, making Silver the most visible. It was a rather cool night, and the wind softly ruffled his coat. Rosencrantz, his beta Widow, and Silver were on a patrol. If they found something to hunt, they would make an effort to kill it, because they were a small pack. They couldn't waste patrols, even if they would be distracted from intruders while they were hunting. He was in the lead, and he knew that his companions looked to him to continuously provide them with opportunities. He was supposed to care for them, yet he was always just waiting and hoping that everything would work out. He knew that for a better chance at a sucessful hunt, they would have at least six wolves working togehter, but he tried to keep at least two wolves with Seether to protect him, since he was a valuable member, and he felt protective of him. Seether hadn't learned to fight, and he didn't have the best eyesight. He was rather small and thin, but he was quite fluffy, which made him seem almost normal sized. However, his packmates had seen him when his fur was slicked to his sides, and he looked painfully thin. As a result of unsucessful hunts, he knew his pack remained hungry most of the time, and if a group of wolves ever invaded his pack would lose. Rosencrantz kept his head up leading the way, while Silver had her nose to the ground, and Widow looked everywhere else, occassionally looking up. There was always something to smell, and it was exciting to scent new things. If nothing changed this duty could easily become very boring very quickly. Something in the air changed, and he realized that someone had entered their territory. They all began looking at each other, and as one they started running in the direction of the scent. They remained silent loping through the woods. They would reconiter for a brief moment, and soon send this wolf packing. He felt his nose and lips curl back revealing a savage snarl. This wolf was quite arrogant to be stepping all over their property. Did she have back up, or a pack with her trying to invade? He howled his fury, and his pack began to chorus together. They wouldn't stand for an intruder scaring away possible prey. They wouldn't stand someone taking up their space, which they worked so hard to protect. He did give a signal to slow down, and they surrounded the single wolf, cutting her off from her escape. "What do you think you our doing on our territory?" instead of his usual indifferent attitude, his far had risen on his back, and he struggled to keep his hackles down. His pack mates stood stiffly with their tails high in the air. Silver was keeping an eye on this newcomer, while Widow kept an eye elsewhere, making sure that they weren't being distracted for an attack. "Did you think you could just walk onto our land, and we wouldn't notice?" his voice had quietened, making it more menacing.

Celine’s strides were long and careful to avoid branches she could either trip over or cause to make a noise by snapping in half. She was heading in a straight line going back the way she had come. Her ears were laid back as she was low to the ground to avoid being seen. She could feel the breeze in her fur and the wind whip past her ears as she ran. Her breath causing big puffs of smoke in front of her as she huffed. Her muscles bunching with each stride she took. Her ears perked as she suddenly heard the furious howl and the howl of others joining in. ‘Great you idiot you ended up wandering into a packs territory not just another lone wolf but a pack.’ Once she heard the furious howl she didn’t mind her step anymore, her muscles bunching more and beginning to sting a little from the excessive sprinting she wasn’t used to. Soon she was panting and skidding to a stop as she became surrounded. She looked at the three wolves that had her trapped. ‘You’ve got yourself cornered by three wolves who knows how many more are in this pack and if they have an ambush.’ She noticed how the wolf with the silverish pelt kept his eyes on her. She also noticed how the female with red fur along her back kept a lookout for possible attack. After having been alpha of her own pack she could recognize the female was the beta and the male watching her was a hunter. She got all this from just a quick scan. Her fur had rose on her back her lips curled back to reveal her canines, she was more in a defensive mode than anything as she turned her attention to the alpha. She kept herself stationed so she didn’t have her back to any of them. “I didn’t mean to enter your territory. I was lost in thought and mindlessly walking. I didn’t realize I was here until it was far too late. I was hoping I could make it out unnoticed but can see I have failed.” She kept her gaze mostly on the alpha knowing that the others wouldn’t attack without his command.

Widow's lip curled in disgust at the quivering cowering wimp. This little loner wasn't fit for anything, if she couldn't run for a few meters without running out of breath. She wasn't paying as close attention as the other two, since she was busy watching their backs, but she was not impressed in the least. For a moment doubt niggled in her mind, until she dismissed it. It continued to bother her, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to discuss it with Rosencrantz right at this moment. For a moment she smelled prey, and she gave Rosencrantz the eye, informing him what they were missing out on. This is why they hated intruders, wasting their time. Rosencrantz appeared much bigger than most wolves. He was rather bulky, and his fur gave him an extra two inches at least. "Silver is much faster than you. Don't think that escape before we are finished with you is an option," he threatened, preferring to keep her off her guard. These threats should be almost routine for a lone wolf like herself, and definitely expected. "That sounds like a lot of excuse making. Are you suggesting that we haven't been diligent marking our borders and protecting what is ours? Are you suggesting that we have been negligent?" his voice took on a quiet threatening touch of a growl at the very end with a touch of aggression. "You are treading on very thin ground., coming in and insulting us like that. Perhaps I should let my wolves have you as a play toy. I don't like liars, or time wasters. How did you come here and why? Cut the blustering. There is a reason you are here, even if you didn't know about this exact place. A loner like you should have better manners. A loner like you should know to pay better attention." Silver caught Widow's eye message, and was very annoyed now that they were missing potential prey. She snarled at Celine comforting herself. This was taking way too long, and was too much of a waste of time. "Why don't we chase her off?" her voice took on a whining tone. This seemed to be a waste of time, yet Rosencrantz silenced her with a look. He wanted to see what news and information he could pump from her. If she became too useful, she wouldn't last for very long.

With the blowing breeze her nose twitched at the scent of prey nearby. She didn’t have to see Silver and Widow to know they were irritated with her. She wondered for a split second if it was because she was making herself seem weak and blubbering or because of the prey they were most likely out hunting when they found her. The alphas size didn’t seem to bother or scare her in anyway but she wasn’t gonna let this group know that. It was taking everything in her to not just attack these three but knew it wasn’t smart. It being uneven odds not the thing making it not smart but the fact it was their territory and she had no interest in taking it over. She truly had just meandered her way into it. Her lips curled back even more at the small threats given by the alpha. “I meant no insulting and no I am not suggesting that you were negligent, you may let your wolves try but I can almost guarantee that will not happen.” She slipped in a small threat of her own ‘probably not the smartest thing.’ “I have no agenda for why I am here no reason what so ever. I was so lost in thought I wasn’t paying attention to markings or anything.” That was all the information she was determined to give them. She didn’t know them well enough to let them know she used to be an alpha but her small pack was over run by rival wolves and those that escaped with her were taken by poachers, and other humans. Her fur bristled some as the silver wolf took an almost whining tone she didn’t mind if they chased her off she didn’t mean to end up here anyway. With the snarl coming from one of the two wolves off to her side she knew that they were annoyed more about missing out on the prey. “Look I can tell you were out hunting and the prey I know you smelt as well you are going to miss out on as the scent is not as strong as it was a few moments ago. I mean no harm no ill will. I will even help you hunt down the prey not ask for any of it and leave the way I came. I have no intentions of trying to take your territory. I have no use for it as I am sure you have noticed there are no other scents of other wolves anywhere.”

"Why would we want to let you tramp further onto our territory? You are so oblivious, you've probably scared all the prey away in the area. You are in here way to deeply for it to be an accident," one of them snarled. "I think you should beat it," growled another, glaring at her malevolently. Rosencrantz took a moment to quiet them, so that Celine could hear him good and well, "If you cause trouble for us, after we grant you mercy, it will not go well for you.We have better things to do, than listen to you act like you have any right to be offended, and wasting our time." They were short pawed enough without having one of them escort the intruder to the border, but he had to come to a decision. "Widow, go look for some prey. We'll probably have to travel quite a distance," he grumbled, "Silver and I will catch up later. Come on, let's escort this...." he searched for an appropriate word, and continued one when he couldn't find one, "to the border." "You are not helpful...at all," Silver shook her head disapprovingly, at Celine's unwanted attempts. He nudged Celine in the direction that she wanted to go. He wasn't sure if it was even worth interrogating her about events outside of their territory. Why should she deign to tell him the truth? "Thanks so much for telling us something that we already know," he rolled his eyes, when she mentioned that the prey would get away, "Why don't you try to be less of a problem for everyone you encounter, and actually be worth someone's time?" Every pack had different techniques for hunting. There was no guartantee that she would understand the way they communicated on the field, and so she could turn out to be more of a hinderance rather than a help, even if they were willing to let her see more of their territory. From what he had seen, he wasn't impressed by her abilities. If she was to be believed, she had blundered onto their territory, and he was dubious that she would be any better at hunting. He supposed that he should take into account that she seemed to be decently fed, and that she had survived on her own, but he had no real way to corroborate her story. Hunting smaller animals took a different set of tricks than hunting large animals as a team. She seemed awfully suspicious, turning up like this. He wasn't sure how long he should keep his pack very alert for possible invasion. Besides, they preferred to keep their style of communication to themselves. No sense in letting enemies be able to understand their battle instructions if there was ever a skirmish. Had she been able to count how many was in their pack?

Her hackles raised further as she gave a snarl at the insults. She knew she couldn’t take all of them on but she would most definitely defend herself against this pack. She caught her breath back quickly and soon it didn’t even look or appear she had been winded. “I think you should beat it.” She heard another growl at her and she responded with a growling back. “Gladly! Point me in the right direction and I will!” Her teeth were bared as she was glaring back at the one speaking for a split second before scanning all of them again. “If you cause trouble for us, after we grant you mercy, it will not go well for you. We have better things to do, than listen to you act like you have any right to be offended, and wasting our time.” She heard Rosencrantz say and looked to him as he spoke. "Trouble just how much trouble do you think one little ol' wolf can make? You have already established I brought no one with me and I don't smell like I belong to any pack!." She listened as he gave his next demands. “Widow, go look for some prey. We’ll probably have to travel quite a distance. Silver and I will catch up later. Come on, let’s escort this…” When he cut off she knew he was looking for an appropriate word and she bared her fangs again. ‘Good god can’t you just relax he said he was showing you mercy and you do have no right to get offended by anything they say as you are the trespasser!! You were the one stupid enough to venture into their terriotry your just lucky they haven’t kill you yet. Although it’s probably what you deserve especially since you are the reason you no longer have a pack’ She gave another growl but more towards herself than the other wolves. She blinked and jumped slightly having been lost in her thoughts once again until she felt Rosencratz nudge her in the direction they were to go. She heard a few other sneer at her and make comments and she shook her head before abiding by Rosencratz nudge. She knew they wouldn’t go for allowing her to join in on the hunt and had in all reality hoped it would distract them enough for her to at least get away. She knew that every pack had different ways of hunting even battling. ‘You fool here we go again if you wouldv’e just attacked that damn rival pack when you had the chance instead of waiting so long you wouldn’t have been the cause of most of your packs death.’ She inwardly gave a snarl at her thoughts and shook her head again. It was clear that she was troubled about something and she was trying desperately to hide it and failing. ‘You are showing weakness this pack is going to eat you alive! It’s what you deserve!!!’ She gave another inward snarl and followed Rosencratz as he led the way. The breeze blew through her fur and she stilled a moment having caught a scent of prey. She glanced around and spotted a doe not far off, but it was to the left of the way Rosencratz was going. She gave only a moments thought before she took off in a low gallop into the brush. 'I'll show these wolves just how much of an asset I could be." Their taunts and snarls had angered her slightly and she felt the need to prove herself somewhat worthy. She didn't even think twice about the rest of the pack that had been standing around. She stalked the doe and when she knew she was close enough her muscles bunched beneath her and her hind feet dug into the earth as she propelled herself forward with a throaty growl. The doe didn't have much time to react as she sprinted forward. The doe took off but it wasn't hard for Celine to catch up. She leapt with a snarl her front paws outstretched as she claws dug into its shoulder her teeth latching into its neck as she used her weight to force the doe to the ground. She didn't hesitate as she quickly made the kill waiting until the doe went limp before she let go of its throat. She let go of the does neck and lifted her head licking the blood on her lips a moment looking in the direction she had left the pack knowing they probably weren't far behind. She was crouched in a defensive stance just in case the pack deicded to attack her for suddenly running off even though it was to catch this decent sized doe.
