--Dragon--
✦✦✦✦✦
Name;
Fish
✦✦✦✦✦
Breed;
Deadly Whisper
✦✦✦✦✦
Gender;
Male
✦✦✦✦✦
Age;
Dragons do not have the same lifespan as humans do. Most live to be 200 years old, although it depends on the species. Deadly Whispers tend to live to 150, and reach full size at age 30.
Fish is, as Pierre can best guess, somewhere in his mid-twenties. He isn’t quite full sized, but is definitely old enough that he should have started to form his own group by now.
✦✦✦✦✦
Looks;
Fish, like all Deadly Whispers, is able to change the color of his scales, which he does constantly. Sometimes the dragon seems to just want to be as bright as possible, while other times he camouflages. Sometimes colors drift across Fish’s scales, almost on accident, and Pierre can guess that those colors represent his emotions.
Yellow tends to appear the most around Pierre, which he hopes means happy, while gray and red appear inside of the village, which Pierre has guessed means tense and angry.
It makes sense, as Fish is supposed to be territorial and not get along well with other dragons, and he is seeing all other sorts of dragons and people around.
So, Fish doesn’t stay in the village, and Pierre has to go to the woods in order to find him.
(It might be a small fear of Pierre’s that one day, Fish won’t greet him at the edge of the woods.)
~~~
Fish is an averaged sized Deadly Whisper, standing at 19-ish feet tall, The height is measured at where Fish’s head is, when he is standing up straight, so his back is a few feet below that, since Deadly Whispers have long necks.
Since he is still growing, it is likely that he will grow to be a bit over 20 feet tall.
In order for Pierre to be able to get on, Fish will crouch down for him.
✦✦✦✦✦
Personality;
Once Fish began to trust Pierre, his playfulness came out. Much like Pierre, Fish likes to play around. The two will often chase one another, playing tag or hide-and-seek (Pierre says Fish is cheating, because he has his camouflage scales), or other games.
Fish will also mimic Pierre, like when he saw Pierre cooking his own fish over a fire, he promptly charred all of his food on the spot. Or, when Pierre was climbing a tree, he looked down, and Fish was trying to figure out a way to do that with his hind legs, and lack of front feet.
~~~
Oddly enough, Fish doesn’t have a group of his own. By his age, he should have started grouping up with other females, to form the large groups that Deadly Whispers are known for.
Pierre thinks it may have to do with the fact that Fish can’t make any sounds other than chuffs and snorts. Whenever he tries to roar, it comes out raspy and broken, and one of the primary ways those large groups communicate is through noise.
Even if that isn’t the case, Fish doesn’t seem inclined to go anywhere, and is quite content to stick around.
~~~
Fish won’t go into the village. He has only gone in there once or twice, but both times he was tense and angry, so Pierre doesn’t ask him to go anymore. Instead, Fish nests in the woods at the base of the hill that the village is on top of, and will often meet Pierre halfway when he spots him.
There have been times where Pierre doesn’t go back home for a few days in a row, and Fish will take him to the tops of the trees to sleep, and curls up around him so the boy doesn’t roll off.
~~~
Fish met Pierre a few months after he turned 16. Now he is around 17 and a half, and the two have known one another for over a year, which is why they are close.
Considering they bonded (not the forever-companionship bond, but became-friends sort of bond) in a bit of a high tension moment when Fish was hurt, they have a friendship that is closer than some other dragons and humans that have been together longer.
Plus, Pierre and Fish are friends, while some humans only look at dragons like a ride, or a status symbol.

Backstory;
Pierre found Fish a few months after he turned sixteen, and failed to bond with a Scorp Striker. He had been exploring the woods nearby the village (on his own, which he wasn’t technically supposed to do yet, since his broken leg was still healing) after getting antsy after being cooped up for so long.
Desperate for any sort of excitement, Pierre ventured deep into the woods, into an area where, while the trees were more spread out, were much larger. It was prime Deadly Whisper territory.
And, there, lying beside one of those tall trees, was a Deadly Whisper. It was camouflaged, but that didn’t do much to hide it, considering there was an arrow through its wing, and a large cut along its side. When the dragon realized Pierre wasn’t going away, it had gone bright red and blue, with the spikes on the back of its neck raised threateningly. Pierre was, if he was being honest, brought back to when he was stuck in the woods with his own broken leg, and that Featharian had nursed him back to health.
He was feeling a strange urge to do that right now, with this Deadly Whisper, although Pierre didn’t have a clue as to why.
Still, he didn’t ignore the urge, and for the next few days (with occasional trips back to the village), Pierre stayed by the dragon, and slowly edged closer and closer to him. The dragon was obviously not happy with this, evidence seen through Pierre’s fire-singed clothes, but Pierre was nothing if not determined.
He went fishing and hunting, making tentative offerings of peace to the dragon for days, pushing large baskets filled with water towards him, although the basket ended up being burned down the first time.
~~~
Eventually, either the pain grew to be too much, or the food won the dragon over, because Pierre was able to get up close and personal with the wounds, the dragon staring at him with sharp eyes, although black scales drifted across its body.
Pain, Pierre had recognized, after seeing how black scales surrounded the wounds, and would grow in size when the dragon tried to move.
Still, Pierre was eventually able to treat the wounds, and did so for multiple days in a row, still bringing the food and water.
Then, one day Pierre went to the woods, and found that the dragon - Fish, he had begun to call him, since it was his favorite food - was gone. Pierre hadn’t known what to do then, and had, in the end, just laid down the food he had brought, and sat down against the tree. Eventually, he had fallen asleep, and when he woke, the food was gone.
~~~
This happened for weeks - Pierre setting down the food, and just sitting there. If he fell asleep, the food would be gone, but if he stayed up, then it would remain.
Until - one day - that changed.
Pierre was reading a book when there was a rustling, a thump, and then, when he looked up, Fish was eating the food Pierre had set out, watching him right back. Not wanting to ruin the moment, Pierrecontinued to read his book, and eventually, Fish flew away.
Weeks passed by, and Pierre went to that same spot every day. One day, pushing his luck, and the progress he’d made by putting the food closer to him every few days, Pierre reached out and touched the dragon.
He may have almost lost a hand by doing that, but Fish still came back the next day, and the hand that Pierre reached out wasn’t met with teeth.
This slow and steady progress continued on, and Pierre continued to try new things, with that initial gaining of trust completed. It was around three months since Pierre first found Fish that he ever tried proposing the idea of riding him.
Fish seemed surprisingly game, which made more sense when Pierre got on for the first time and Fish promptly dumped him on the ground, orange scales - humor - floating around as he chuffed and snorted playfully.
It took another month, but gods.
Pierre had ridden dragons before, but this was different.
He was riding on his own, on a dragon that only he could ride.
~~~
Pierre trusts Fish, and Fish trusts Pierre. The two work seamlessly together, and while they are not bonded, they are close. Fish will now let (some) other people ride on his back, but not without Pierre there, and he won’t listen to them if they try to steer.
He is protective of his human, and if they are ever threatened by another dragon, Fish is there.
