📍 deadhorse, alaska, 1981 it's 1981 and mutt dogs are truly frowned apon, let alone wolfdogs. word got out around town that a dog had runaway and came back pregnant, only to find out that the bitch had mated with a wolf. the town was furious and multiple humans tried hunting down the mama and her pups, but her owner couldn't let that happen, nay nay.. . he couldn't bare to see his dogs and her babies be murdered by the people he'd call his neighbours, so he decided to take care of the situation himself. abandoning his well-loved dog and her babies so they could have a chance at life, and not be killed at only four days old. it was a hard decision, and the owner would only hope his dogs would survive in the wild. little did he know, they'd thrive and soon the forest that surrounded the small town of deadhorse would have a pack of multiple wolfdogs residing inside of it. the mama dog would live to tell her pups the reason why they were unwanted in their town, and once those pups became mothers and fathers, they'd tell the story to their babies. . soon enough, other dogs were being abandoned for having pups sired by wolves and there was now multiple different bloodlines living in the forest. one night, a female wolfdog would sneak into town only to find out there was a disease killing off almost every human that lived there, and the packs would only come together to finish off the last remainder of people who wanted to murderize their ancestors. this was an easy job, as everyone was already weak and nearly limp from the deadly disease caused by their food supply being extremely old and rotted. . soon enough, the wolfdogs got bit in the ass by karma and a majority of them all died. well, except for eight. it was now 1990 and the town of deadhorse was finally ruled by wolfdogs and not humans. the thing is - will the last [known] wolfdogs all die off? or will they adapt to their new lifestyle and thrive, like the one dog who started it all??

atasi | four years | female | m; the pack atasi opened her eyes as she heard the sound of birds chirping and flying about near the clearing of her den. stupid birds the lead female huffed in her head as she yawned, looking to her right as her mate and pup lay silently together. standing up on all fours and stretching, atasi made her way out of her den to see almost nobody out of their caves, which was sorta normal. the husky, wolf mix looked to her left and eyed the prey pile. there was nothing but a couple of mice and a rabbit. “that’s not going to be enough for us” she muttered under her breath and started arranging a plan for hunting this morning. the young female walked over to the biggest rock in the clearing just to jump up onto it, to howl. as she finished, she decided that that would be enough to wake the rest of her pack up, including her pup, reese. she was quite surprised reese already hasn’t woken up, but it is what it is. the large wolf-dog jumped from the rock as she heard her stomach growl a bit and made her way over to the prey pile. since she wasn't that hungry, she grabbed the smallest mouse there and carried it in her mouth while making her way back to the rock she had just jumped off of. as she positioned herself into a comfortable enough position, she saw her pup make her way out of the den. “hi, love” she called out as reese looked up to her. “hi, mama” the four-month-old replied as she made her way to sit near her mother.. reese | four months | female | m: armen, atasi reese was dreaming about rabbits and squirrels before she was awakened by her mother's loud howl. reese obviously didn't notice the fact that her mama was already awake and out of the den, which was okay but kind of unusual as reese was almost always by her mama’s side. the young pup laid there next to her father, armen, for a couple of minutes before deciding to get up and make her way into the clearing. she flicked her left ear as she felt an annoying fly buzz around it for about thirty seconds before she decided to do anything about it. standing up and stretching, the yellowish/white pup made her way out into the clearing just to see her mama laying on the biggest rock around, with what seemed to be a mouse. “hi, love” atasi called out. “hi, mama” reese responded as she decided to go join her mother for the morning. she had done this every morning and planned on doing it until the day she died.

Armen Six | Male | Lead | Mentions: Reese, Atari (dir), Pack (indir)
The mornings were never Armen's favorite. That was always Atari's thing, which always included her waking the others up as well. Granted it was his job and responsibility to ensure that the pack was doing well, always on the move and members having something to do. He always felt that Atari was just better at those things, anyway, though. Not that he was a bad leader. He was always the one to put others in their place, proving his dominance whenever someone go out of line.
However, there was always his daughter to look forwards to during those days. Reese had easily become his favorite being in the entire world. Aside from Atari, of course. Those two kept him rather sane most days and showed him a comfort nobody else really had. The thought made the tired male smile slightly, hearing Atari howl for the others. He groaned softly, seeing Reese leave his side and go outside of the den toward his mate. He grumbled a few words under his breath before rising to all fours, emitting a yawn followed by a nice stretch. He shook his pelt, some dust particles flying off. He took a glance around before approaching Reese and Atari.
"Morning," he said, laying down beside Atari. "We got anything planned today?" He asked, looking up at her. Edited at September 3, 2022 07:40 PM by queen.

atasi | four years | female | m: reese & armen “how did you sleep?” atasi asked her offspring as she came and laid beside her. “good, how did you sleep, mama?” the pup asked in return. “i slept well. i always sleep best when i'm beside you and your father” atasi assured, speaking the truth. no matter what happened, atasi would always pick armen and reese over anything, those two were her world. when atasi was reese’s wee age, she never would have thought she would be where she is now. reese used her muzzle to snag the mouse her mother had sitting in front of her and began to eat it. atasi didn’t mind this though, but if it were any other wolf-dog doing that she’d be quite pissed. atasi noticed a multicoloured wolfdog come out of her den. It happened to be armen. the sight of him awoke the trio of butterflies that laid silently in her stomach, and she didn’t mind that. “good morning” atasi responded to armen, happily, as reese exclaimed how excited she was to see her father awake. “father armen! good morning!” the pup smiled as armen climbed up the rock to lay beside atasi. “well, the prey pile is looking a bit.. eh.. i was thinking of arranging a hunting party but decided to wait for you to wake beforehand.” atasi replied to her mate, happy to see him. (skipping reese's part for now as i sort of explained what she's doing in atasi's post)

Taisiya | 5.5 | Female | Mentions : Armen (ind.) , Atasi (ind. ) , Reese (ind.) The young female had been up earlier that morning , and had done a morning patrol before the others could get up. She was feeling restless and couldn't stay inside the camp long. She didn't know what it was. Her mind had been in a different place these past months. She then entered camp fo notice the lead pair awake, with their daughter and she paused momentarily. Oh, that's what she was avoiding. She kept moving with a normal gait, her posture was somber and annoyed. She made her way to her den, and laid down for a moment. Her eyes still open - but they didn't have the usual fire or passion. They just seemed dull and in a way sad. It wasn't Reese's fault for being born - no, she'd never be annoyed by a pup just because of its existence. She was rather upset with Atasi, that backstabbing bitch, she could feel her claws slightly dig into the earth at the thought. She doesn't even know how she didn't see it coming or why she didn't try and stop her - maybe it was she hoped that the female would realize what she was doing was so wrong. Breaking their friendship apart just because she wasn't getting attention from one guy. A scoff came from Taisiya. She just wanted to continue her duties in peace as of now and not think of how that treacherous wench that was her superior had the life she wanted and basically stole it from her. Why had she been stupid to tell her that she liked Armen? Why? But why had Armen been blind to her affections? Well it wasn't his fault nor problem - he made his choice, he chose her . It wasn't his fault, it was hers because she didn't choose fo stand her ground for what was hers. She sighed a moment. These negative thoughts needed to leave her, before she did something rash. So she chose to busy herself. She stood up and made her way towards the Leading Pair. She would have fo muster up whatever kindness she had left for Atasi. "Good Morning Armen." She spoke greating her friend first and then looked at the little pup that was theirs, "Good morning Reese." She then looked at Atasi, "Good morning madam." She said formally not really feeling like using her name. She was too upset with her. "Did we have anything scheduled or needed to do. I was planing on waking up Yekaterina to go hunting and ask my sister to go on patrol again." she informed her leaders, "was there anything else that needed to be done?" Tikanni || 5.5 years || Male || M: The pack The grey male had woken up early, before the sun had finished rising, to complete his border patrol. It was a crisp morning at first, but he quickly grew warm again as the sun's rays flooded the area. The rustling of small animals scurrying about distracted him momentarily, knowing the prey pile back at camp was low, Tikanni chose to keep an eye out for small, manageable prey. The birds darting overhead created songs that made the patrol more enjoyable, almost as if he wasn't alone. The wolf-dog got lucky as he picked up the scent of a mouse, the creature scrambling to evade him but it was too late. A short pounce and a quick bite later and Tikanni had successfully snagged the creature. Getting it in such a short time was pure luck, as he had stepped on the bush it was hiding under and caught it as it was darting out. The scent of prey flooded his nose, making the male's stomach growl, he stopped by a small stream on his way back, lapping at the cold waters to quell his stomach, before entering camp. He padded over to drop the creature at the kill pile, licking his maw and staring down at the piece for a moment before moving to sit away from the food. Giving out his greetings as he went, with the “hellos” and “good mornings”. He would give his report to Armen when the Lead had a moment, in the meantime, he would catch up on some missed sleep. Laying with his head on his paws, Tikanni let the sound of the birds and the talk in the pack to lull him into a short sleep.
