Plot Ereil is a mystical land. The high and mighty Eredor Mountains gradually give way to lush plains that border on a wide ocean expanse. Forests, a northern desert, and massive lakes dot the landscape and, living inside them, are the Tribes. The Kaa Tribe are water dwellers. They rule the lakes, rivers, and oceans of the land. The Djali Tribe dominate the desert. Living within the murky woods is the Faolain Tribe, and high in the mountains reigns the Erren Tribe. The Tribes are human, but those who have bonded to beasts become... a little more than that. At the last bonding ceremony of the four Tribes, however, something went wrong. Several new pairs suddenly turned against all the others, wreaked havoc, and then disappeared. In an attempt to find and stop the new threat, and to attempt to reverse the phenomenon, a handful of pairs from each Tribe were chosen to hunt the others down. To find out what had caused the snap. To save their world. === Links: Discussion Thread Sign Ups

== PLEASE READ == RP responses must be 200 words PER CHARACTER at least. You don't need to write all of your characters at once, but remember that there is another person counting on your responses to come out. If you drop out of the RP for any reason, let us know what you'd like to happen with your character. If someone (an account, not an OC) goes MIA for over a week, the OC will be presumed dead. Drama will happen. Keep it between OCs and hate the character, not the player. If there are arguments that need to be resolved, keep them private or involve me or a mod if necessary. == BEGINNING POST INFORMATION == It has been a week since the ceremony went awry. The snapped bonds have already destroyed three villages and are coming up on a fourth. The Seekers have been assembled and will be looking for supplies, information and leads on their quarry, and formulating their plan of attack. The Snapped have no supplies with them. They have been living off of what they've taken from the villages, though some members may have begun storing things. It is mid-afternoon. The Seekers are in central Ereil, and it is a slightly muggy, warm summer day. The Snapped are currently riding the border of the Faolain and Djali tribes and, it appears, are moving towards the former; in this desert-plains border, it is dryer and hotter than the central location. == POST HEADERS == Ultimately it is up to you how to head your posts. You can include as little or as much information as you'd like. However, I'd like headers to have at least this: Character Name || Role/Rank || Mentions So, for example, if I were doing this for Kavik, I would have: Kavik Forger || Seekers Member || M: Open Other information that could be included: age, gender, bond partner, tribe or species, and current, more precise location (i.e., a creek in the woods outside of the raided village). Theo Black // Seeker member // Mentions: Open . +The small figure of the male walks towards the edge of camp, his direction and destination unknown to those around. His green eyes cold as he glares at those he past, new groups always mess with him. Even since his elders chose him to come on this journey he has distances himself from almost everyone he can. His walks gets faster as he makes his way to a high cliff top, the view was interesting as a sigh of stress leaves him. Taking a seat he crosses his limbs as closes his eyes as the wind blows his dirty blonde hair around his face+ . "Remind me again why I agreed to come on this stupid trip...death is sure to follow" . +Soft, sweet, but it held venom the words of the male he wasn't speaking to anyone in particular heck all he knew was he was alone on the cliff top. They were going to move soon towards who knows where, this fight may be something he was dragged in but it is something he doesn't want to be apart of. Opening his eyes he returns his gaze to the view a muddy feild was ahead, a view that may not please everyone+ . "Eriel may be muddy but...I can see the beauty in it If you look hard enough that is" . +To see the beauty in darkness has always been something the male could do and understand. Study and observe is the way to win any fight. His gaze soon lifts up to the bright sky above him, the sun not in his way, blues, white, and yellows made up the vast ocean above his head. A smile seeps onto his features as he leans back onto his hands behind him. Closing his eyes once again relaxation is key in a time like this + . +Though the male to others may look like he is relaxing and not paying attention to his surroundings the have the opposite idea. Yes he is relaxed in his structure but in side the clockwork in his brain is on haywire. As well as he listens out to who may be around him or approach him, awareness everyone should at least be aware at a time and throughout this journey of they want to survive+ . "Lets go, bring it on world if you want me to die...then so be it" Edited at July 5, 2022 09:53 PM by Free-Claw12

Sorren Lamont(Djali)|Lead Seeker|Bond:Onyx(Fire dragon) The familiar warmth and rumbling sound of his companion comforted him in this strange place. His first thoughts as he leaned against the massive dragon sleeping next to him. Turning his toned frame slightly finding the end of his friends long barbed tail wrapped around him as he woke from his rest. "Onyx wake up ya big sand beetle you" a chuckle escaping his kind but worn face. Sorrens gave the beasts side a firm but caring pat sand dusting to the ground. He ran fingers through his shorn white hair sand indeed falling free still. They had been gone from their desert home for more than five days and still sand was following them. He had seen as much when he took his sand shoes off as they crossed the plains. Switching over to more comfortable sturdy boots for traveling. • They had set up camp quickly last night due to sudden downpours. They were heading to the small plains trading city of Ramren for supplies. His golden brown eyes shown in the early morning light. Flicking about the camp taking in information about all of his new companions as they stirred for the day. • Sorren sat on a log nearby to get dressed once he deemed the camp secure. He laced up his boots. A knife hidden in the side. His normal desert pants had been switched out for riding leathers. Comfortable but protective. He doned his shirt a crème colored tunic to keep him cool in the heat. Pulling it over his torso and removing the handful of leather cord necklaces decked with shells from under the shirt. White tribal tattoos that matched well with his dragons white markings inked his back neck and arms. Stark against his tan skin. • I'm not used to this humid heat • Wiping his brow from the humidity. He would take the dry heat of his home; over the humid heat of the plains between the Djali deserts and Faolan forests any day. Leather arm guards and tack belt he saved for last. His sturdy hands a deep rust red color from years of tanning leathers tied his pack closed. Latching his water skin to his belt ready to start planning for the day. Shiva Windrunner || Djali || Snapped Leader || M: Asteria (Ind), Leha (Ind), Open Shiva crouched on top of one of the dwindling rocky overhangs that protruded from the flattening landscape. Red hair whipped back and forth beneath the girl's cowl, several strands crossing her face and lashing the opposite side. She made no move to fix it; Shiva had learned long ago that the winds of the southernmost part of the desert were far too strong for any hair band to hold anything in place for long. It was part of the harsh life she'd lived, and she was quite fine with it. The arid desert heat was disappearing with every step the ragtag band took towards Faolain civilization, and Shiva was unaccustomed to the amount of greenery that was drawing ever nearer on the horizon. Djali peoples had little to offer in the way of supplies, however, and it was becoming evident that the newly bonded pairs beneath her would soon need things that Shiva's birth tribe had less access to. Fresh produce, fatty meats, and abundant water and medical supplies were hard to come by in the desert wasteland. What they did have was stored and reserved carefully; stealing water was nigh impossible, though it could be done. In the two villages that Shiva's group had ransacked, there had only been two barrels of water in the reserves. Two barrels, and she needed enough for ten members, five of which required much more than the average human. So, pushed by desperation, they were now headed south into the woodlands of Faolain. They had reached the grasslands, and Shiva guessed that her own bonded beast would appreciate the more abundant shadowy spaces. The desert was so... open. Shiva was sure that Asteria, a hellhound, would prefer the extra cover. Sporadically placed sand dunes and ancient stone formations could only provide so much shadow. Shiva turned to look down at the makeshift camp. Soon, she'd get them up to move again, as soon as the sun had passed its hottest point. They were so close to Leha's homeland, now. Surely the other girl would know of a few places they could find water. Even a stream would do, though a well would guarantee a better water quality. Those were worries for later; now, the desert girl had to focus on keeping them all alive to find that stream or well. Something stirred inside her, almost like another being was waiting for this precise moment to interject. Its nagging hope of burning down another village was brought up, but Shiva crushed it with an iron fist. They needed to avoid being seen, for now. There was no doubt they were being followed.

Asteria - Snapped Leader - Hellhound - Mentions: Shiva, Open
The form of the massive animal lay still. And it truly was massive; the head, the body, the paws, all of her. A large body covered in sleek inky black fur, ideal for hiding in the darkness and shadows. Not that there was many shadow in the desert. Whereas she seemed to melt into the dark in more shady places, and was practically invisible at best, she only stood out in the open area. And the hellhound sure didn't appreciate the arid climate. She had fur, dark fur, that seemed to soak in every bit of heat.
Asteria raised her head, tilting it upwards to where she knew her human bond, was perched. Then leveled out her gaze, stretching out a long front foreleg. She caught every sound made by the ground around her, every scent on the windwas brought to her attention. And for the moment, she didn't sense anything amiss. Then she brought her head down to rest on her paws, vivid yellow eyes still open, triangular ears twitching slightly at every sound. The group was drawing ever nearer to better supplies, better hunting grounds. This small ragtag group didn't have what they needed in the desert. Water for one, and with several of their numbers needing more water, it wasn't a good idea to linger.
The wolf-like dog shifted slightly, impatient and restless. She, for one, would be glad to be out of the dry, open place. The hellhound had lived in the territory in which they were heading, the tribe which humans called Faolain's hunting grounds. Not for a long time, only for a little bit as she stopped by, but she rather liked the place. More shadowy, darker. Better suited for her and her abilities of shadow walking.

Onyx || Fire Dragon || Male || Lead Seeker Beast || 149 Years || Human: Sorren || M: Sorren, All Seekers (Ref) A roar cuts through the camp from large parted jaws – fierce yet harmless, filled to the brim with tired, warm air. The maw shuts with a snap, one so strong it too echoes throughout the camp like the clash of thick, old metal. A pat on his side had awoken the slumbering beast – firm but filled with care. A rare occurrence in the dragon’s life. The hand’s small but cool owner was pressed against his hot and scaly form, wrapped in his barbed tail. With great care, of course. The beast would not risk harming his bonded with such a deadly weapon. A grumbling grunt follows the spoken words, unhappy about “rude” awakening. Seemingly ignoring his grouchy response, his companion leaves his side to prepare for the day. A minute or two passes before he finally stirs. Mercury orbs blink open with great concern – the pupils as thin serpentine-slits – surveying the area for any prominent changes. A great lack of sand with the first and biggest observation. Where was the desert? The sand? The scorpions? Sure, the dragon much preferred the more solid and stable ground (better for building tunnels in), but this wasn’t his homeland. The next observation was the dreadful humidity. It was nearly unbearable, seeing as he had grown accustomed to the desert’s weather. This alone caused great desire for him to snatch up his companion and bury them both underground. The final oddity was the small group of people and beasts from all walks of life scattered about the vicinity. They were strangers, and possibly dangerous. Only one, aside from his bonded, appeared to be from the Djali Tribe. Most originated from the other three. Though, none seemed inherently violent or filled with ill intent. He was missing something. But what? Slight confusion bubbles in the cold hue of his eyes, before their normal yet oddly warm shade returns as his empty mind finally pieces together the recent events. The pupils, in response, expand in width – looking less like a hungry or angry serpent and more like those of a drowsy feline. Thus, lessening his “menacing” appearance. To some degree. Ah, right. We are Seekers now. Shame, I was hoping for an hour's rest. Or maybe two. With much protest, Onyx’s body begins to shift into a sitting position. His tail twists and spirals like those of a furious cobra – resting underneath him to form a sort of seat. The thickest part of his tail – “tall” enough to reach over Sorren’s waist – makes up the inner ring of the coils. The thinner the tail, the further out it is. The barbed tip sticks upright, resting in an almost threatening position – akin to a rattlesnake. Sunlight beats down on his already scolding scales, causing those golden-brown in color to glow while the white and black shimmer like iridescent stones. His wings support his upper half in the meantime – finger-claws digging into the ground underneath the beast’s ginormous self. They hold him high off the ground, his horns and head beating against some rather high tree branches above. His legs dangle in front of his broad chest – not limp, but poised and ready to be put to good use. Long, sharp claws decorate the seemingly useless limbs – ready to dig at any moment. Once all 30ft or so of his tail are in place, the fire beast’s wings begin to lower – resting his upper body almost elegantly on his own coils as though he were a king perched on his throne. His mercury eyes once more shift through the camp, keeping a keen eye on those he was chosen to lead. Well, the beasts, anyway. He’ll leave the humans for Sorren to deal with. It’s best I say back here. That way I won’t… get in the way of anyone else. For now, I’ll wait until my presence is truly needed.

Tukaii || Phoenix || H: Michael || Second Seeker Beast || M: Onyx and Michael . Tukaii sat perched in a large tree. It was already mid-day and they were trying to gather as much information as they could about the Snapped. Maybe she should try and gather some food while the humans did the talking. She hated feeling useless. Just then, something shook her roost. Her emerald eyes tilted downwards looking for the source of the disturbance. She let out a startled warble but relaxed as she realized it was only Onyx. “Enjoy your beauty sleep?” She teased the older male. His horns rested in the tree branches and they blended in fairly well for a sand dragon. Collecting herself she stood up and picked up each foot, then stretched them out. As she readjusted her feathers ash fell to the ground but was so used to it that she was unaware. They were in Ereil for the time being. She liked being in this area. Not as much as she enjoyed being in the forests of Faolain but here there were less trees to accidentally set on fire. Rock was less welcoming to her but nevertheless she could relax and allow her feathers to really set fire. She was happy with this nomadic lifestyle they were currently stuck in. Her pupils dilated as she searched for Michael. She was unsure of where he was and it made her uneasy. “Michael?” She chirped and began to stand up. Michael Evans - Second Seeker - Beast: Tukaii - Mentions: Tukaii, Onyx (Ind), Others (Ind)
Michael was looking around, the young man absently gazing at his surroundings while thinking. What had happened with the Bonding Ceremony? For several pairs to seemingly just snap with no discernable reason. It was strange, and a bit on the chilling side. He was located near the tree that his bonded beast was perched in, although probably out of sight from where she could see. He felt strangely restless, like he had to move, although why he wasn't too sure.
How was he chosen to be the second again? Why? He wasn't going to go and ask, he felt it would most likely look bad. He would do what he was supposed to do, and go along with it this time, but it was still a question in his mind. He was jarred right out of his thoughts, a roar startled him so that he actually jumped, then he realized that their leader's beast was a dragon. How did he almost forget that fact? It's like not the dragon was hard to miss or remember. Then again, he felt like he was still kind of in shock over what had happened, so he wasn't at his best yet.
It wasn't bad where they had stopped for the night. A warm day, kind of humid, but nothing horrible. He could and would deal with the weather conditions. He's certainly been in worse before. A chirp from Tukaii made him look up where she was located in the tree, she sounded concerned or uneasy, was the first thing he noted. Deciding it would be best to let her know where he was, he walked out into her line of sight.
"Yes?" He asked, tilting his head up at the large fiery bird.
