With my return to WolfPlay and easing back into the roleplay community, I'm opening myself up to one 1x1 (or 1x2, the plot can be modified to accommodate an extra person if both parties are okay with it, but I will not be taking on two separate interactions) roleplay, in addition to the small group roleplay I currently plan to run. This is not first-come, first-serve, because I am a little picky and will lose interest very quickly if I'm not given detail/effort or anything that contributes to the story. I will always match my partner's effort to the best of my ability, and expect the same in return.
As for the plot, here is what I have in mind. I am open to ideas and changes, anything I'm not willing to bend on are listed beneath.
I heavily prefer that the plot is for humans, but I am tentatively open to canine or feline. I, unfortunately, tend to get burnt out on ferals very quickly in a 1x1.
The only child of a king lives a luxurious life, never having to lift a finger due to numerous servants at their every becking call. The prince(ss) has never seen the world beyond the castle courtyard, and (s)he is quite content with that fact. The only thing (s)he needs to worry about is manners and appearance, keeping up the reputation of the royal family through diplomatic dinners and events. (This is Muse A in the last paragraph).
The king keeps his child locked away from their subjects, fearing losing him/her like he did his/her mother, gone to those angered by his avoidance of the war beyond their borders. He is not a good king due to this fear, valuing the peace more than he values the safety of the villages under his rule. Many of his subjects believe him a coward, even his own son/daughter is of this opinion, but he is steadfast in his refusal to raise a hand against their enemies.
The prince(ss) lacked any idea as to what was going on with the villages, unaware of the tension brewing beyond the castle walls. (S)He is naive, softened by the spoiling expected of royalty, and had his/her mind otherwise occupied; two suitors were his/her priority; a bodyguard that was sworn to protect him/her with his life, and a childhood crush of noble blood.
The three of them were close from the beginning, all growing up within the same walls from the ages of five for the nobles, and thirteen for the bodyguard, who had moved in when his father became employed by the king for security.
At the age of eighteen, upon completion of training, the common boy had been assigned a bodyguard to the prince(ss), the final line of defense should anyone get passed the royal guard, or the first line when foreign royals were within the palace. It was during this time he grew more distant, putting his professional reputation before his friendship with the prince(ss); he became a mystery, one (s)he wanted to solve. (This is Muse B).
He risked his life for the royal family numerous times, and was rewarded for it; after nearly dying in defense of the prince(ss), he was rewarded with the title of General, one of the best fighters in the kingdom and leader of hundreds of troops.
Kain, the noble, was a different story. He was an open book, always happy to be in the presence of his dear friend; he was kind, intelligent, and above all else, he was--seemingly--loyal to the family. He was aware of the prince(ss)'s feelings toward him, but viewed him/her only as a sibling; he, instead, used these feelings to get close to the royals.
Unfortunately, all things must come to an end. It was the prince(ss)'s twenty-first birthday, and everyone was caught up in the chaos of planning; it was the perfect day for Kain's plan. The prince(ss) was not supposed to witness this nightmare, but fate had other plans for the traitors; Kain had staged a coup against the king.
Secretly, he hated him; he saw the destruction he was creating within the villages, even though he didn't mean to, and was only trying to stay out of a war that wasn't his. Thus, Kain decided it was time to take things into his own hands, to kill the king and take the throne for himself, restoring the kingdom to its former glory.
On the night of the prince(ss)'s birthday, he killed the king in the privacy of his chambers. Muse A was not supposed to be there, meant to be in his/her own chambers in his/her private wing to be taken care of later. But, (s)he had scheduled a private moment to celebrate over dessert with his/her father and had entered the room as he fell.
Kain, standing over the body of the fallen king, had hardly looked at him/her. Muse A froze in the doorway, unable to believe any of this had happened. And then, Kain said something (s)he never expected to hear. "Kill the prince(ss)."
Luckily, Muse B, told to be away and give the royal family privacy, had gone against orders and entered the room just in time to stop him/her from being executed like the common criminal. Kain's companion had been about to grab Muse A, free hand resting on the sword at her side.
His own sword drawn in a flash, Muse B had stopped the attack and pulled Muse A along hurriedly at his side, ushering them out with a fiery look toward Kain, who--fuming at this loss--ordered his followers after them.
Narrowly, Muses A and B escaped.
How long can they keep running? What will the prince(ss) do in the end; seek revenge and regain his/her kingdom, or live peacefully far, far away from the bloodshed?
- I am open to MxM or MxF if we take a romantic route; however, I do not play females very well and try to avoid it. If Muse A is female, I will take Muse B; if you intend to play a male, I can easily play either one and we can work something out. I will admit I lean more toward the general/bodyguard role due to pre-developed characters, but do have a character suited for a Prince, so I am not at all against the idea!
- I would prefer a response at least once a week because it keeps things moving at a relatively steady pace; I won't force it, I understand being busy--I get busy a lot, I get it, but I would appreciate a heads up if you can't respond! I will always do the same, and I'm not at all against a gentle reminder if I haven't said anything.
- I'm a literate to novella roleplayer, and cannot work with anything vague. I can accept 2-3 paragraphs as long as it gives me something to work with, I will do my absolute best not to overdo it, and I'm not gonna expect an entire novel from my partner. I've got writing samples here: 4 pack blog entries (older samples, I haven't been active on WolfPlay in over 6 months before now!)
All I ask to "sign up" is to provide at least one roleplay sample (preferably a blog, another 1x1, or typed out here; I will not hunt through a group forum to see your work on page 15), and any idea(s) you have for the plot; I am open to negotiating, don't be afraid to give ideas to improve the backstory of the plot! Preferably also let me know what role you would prefer to play (if you have a preference), because it saves time in planning.
WILL be a forum thread; I do not RP through PMs because I lose them way too easily and I clear my inbox regularly.
