They may join you or run away, but I believe having high social makes them more likely to join you

How to get a familiar : Let's take forest for example. The first familiar I saw in forest was a red deer stag. When you go on it's tile, if your wolves' social is high enough, you can click the 'befriend' button, if it works, you get a familiar.

Herb garden : Pack>Pack activities>Herb garden.

I can't help with the familiars in swamp.

You need social to befriend them, the more social your wolves have, the easier they will be able to be befriend
