I can't count the amount of times chat has turned to food as the topic of the day and many players (including myself) are often left feeling hungry.
So here is a place where you can find all the recipes of those favorites that make our mouths water.
Or you can find something new if you're stuck in a rut and keep eating the same things everyday.
Edit: I use an aga at home so i'm not familiar with cooking times as it can vary. Times are estimates.

Garlic.
Oil.
Intructions:
Peel Potatoes.
Chop potatoes in to about 1 inch cubes maybe a bit smaller.
Peel and chop some garlic.
Chop and rinse rosemary.
Place all in an oven dish/tray. Mix well.
Slosh some oil on. Quite a bit so it doesn't dry out.
Cook till brown.
Last time i made these it took about 1+1/2 hours.

They are so simple to make but they are so good.
Brownies.
If you want to make homemade brownies then you'll need flower, brown sugar, salt, and of course, chocolate. You also need 2 eggs and a cup of milk.
All you have to do is add them together, put them in a pan and bake it at 400 degrees for like 10-15 minutes. When it looks solid and crispy, then you take them out. Homemade brownies are the best.

Yorkshire Puddings!
Needed:
125g plain flour.
1 egg.
300ml milk.
Instructions:
Crack egg - No shell required.
Mix ingredients together until smooth.
Place some fat in oven pan and place in oven to get very hot.
Heated fat should be a small pool that covers the bottom of the tin by about 5mm.
Add mixture into fat. Should sizzle. If not the fat wasn't hot enough.
Cook in the oven until risen and brown.
Note: Yorkshire puddings are tricky and don't always look like the pictures more often than not i end up making Yorkshire pancakes/domes. So don't be put down. It's how they taste that is important.
Serve covered in gravy, preferably alongside roast beef and assorted veg.

Slow Cooker/Crockpot Gumbo
(recipe from "The Schmidty Wife" but idk if we can post links)
Main Ingredients
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 28 ounce can diced tomatoes (the big can)
  • 1 ½ pounds chicken thighs, boneless skinless
  • 1 package andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1 pound raw shrimp (add at the end)
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups cooked rice for serving
For the Roux (thickening the soup, optional)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
Directions
  1. Optional: Make a roux using the optional butter and flour. On the stovetop add the butter to a skillet over medium heat. Once melted and starting to bubble add the flour to the butter. Whisk to combine and continue to whisk until the mixture becomes a dark brown color about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat, set aside until you are ready to add the the crockpot.
  2. Add the diced red bell pepper, onion, celery, diced tomatoes, chicken thighs, sliced andouille, cajun seasoning, salt, thyme, broth, minced garlic, and if you are using it the optional roux from step one, throw it in. Do NOT add the shrimp yet.
  3. Stir to combine and cook on LOW 6-7 hours or HIGH 3-4 hours.
  4. During the last 15 minutes of cooking stir in the shrimp. I recommend leaving the shells on for maximum flavor but it isn't absolutely necessary. Once the shrimp is pink and no longer translucent the gumbo is ready to eat. Serve over a bed of rice.
Chef's notes! I've modified this recipe for myself!
-You can add a whole little package of frozen okra (why doesn't this recipe have that in the first place?! Gumbo without okra is bizarre lol), a potato, and add a half teaspoon of cayenne powder if you like it spicy.
-If you like fish, add lobster claw, fish ball, crab legs, imitation crab, and/or raw fresh or thawed out frozen shrimp at the end, the last few minutes before serving; make sure the shrimp are deshelled and the claws and legs are cut with meat scissors to make it less messy to eat. You can even take crunchy mini dried shrimps, or dried shrimp powder and add it into your soup or bowl to make it fishy. If you don't like fish, skip the shrimp and add more chicken thighs!
-The first time you make this, check on the chicken after the first 1.5 hours because it might already be done - if the chicken thigh falls off the bone, it's done - which is why I like to cook with bone-in chicken thigh. If you cook chicken thighs too long, they just turn into soup lol, making the soup thicker and chickeny but then there aren't any chicken chunks to chew on.
-Warning - don't use Zatarain's brand Andouille sausage!! It's overly processed and doesn't taste great; I'm sensitive to certain chemical flavor additives and oils, and I used this brand to make Gumbo last time I made it on 6/10/2022 and it made me sick. Headache, stomach ache, and then I passed out for the rest of the day.
-Using frozen, pre-chopped vegetables honestly doesn't change the taste so feel free to use frozen veggie mixes. However, using different vegetables than what I've listed here could drastically change the taste and texture of the gumbo so do your research on good gumbo veggies :) I used a frozen bellpepper + onion mix, plus a bag and a half of frozen chopped okra, and it turned out great!
-If you're trying to be healthy, add more vegetables and skip the Roux, salt, and rice. If you want something that's like rice to pour the gumbo over, use "riced cauliflower."
-The brand of Cajun Seasoning I used was "Louisiana Fish Fry Products' Cajun Seasoning" and it tastes great. It was cheap and I found it at Winco. If I try another brand and like it, I'll put it here.

Venn-style Ramen:

Best done with a nice, spicy packet of Shin Ramen.

1. Boil water. Then beat an egg as thin or thick as you want.

2. Add soup packet to boiling water. Then add noodles.

3. Strain noodles, keep the soup. Add your egg to the bowl of noodles and stir.

3. Cook any necessary vegetables & meat in the remaining soup. My favorite is corn kernels, shelled soybeans, green peas, and spam. Go as simple or as exotic as you want with your veggies.

4. Add cooked veggies to your noodles.

5. Enjoy!

P.S. My sister swears by a slice of cheese over the noodles.

If you need something really plain and easy, when I'm not feeling well I'll make some white rice and get some canned chicken to put in it. Like I said, it's plain, but it's easy, both to make and on the stomach when you're sick. Just make the white rice like normal, then add the chicken in and stir!

Alright so I have a few recipes I can try to get, but here's the tea recipe my mom uses when we're sick
1 orange, thin sliced after being cut in half
2 lemons, thin sliced, cut in half
grated ginger, about an inch piece or to taste
cup of honey
2-3 tablespoons of tumeric

mix it all and keep it in a jar in the fridge, then add a spoonful or two to a mug of hot water
According to my mom it lasts about a month, and I have to say that it's not only tasty but it has ingredients that really help when you're sick or just not feeling good

Easy Coffee Cup Sized Oreo Ice Cream Cake
.
Crush some oreos (I like using the mint ones for this) at the bottom of a coffee cup and add a little melted chocolate or fudge and mix them all together.
.
Then add ice cream of your choice (I like mint for this again lol) and add a few scoops of the ice cream to the coffee cup.. smooth the top of the ice cream and add a little more crushed oreo with chocolate to the top of the mug, let the ice cream melt a little, then stick it in the freezer for like an hour.
.
When you pull it back out, let it sit at room temp for a few minutes, so it comes out easily, then flip the coffee mug upside down over a bowl or plate and tap the ice cream and oreos out - bam! You've made your own ice cream cake!
.
Tip: it's even better if you add more layers of oreo between each scoop of ice cream! Smooth each ice cream scoop before adding the oreo layer so you can get a thick, even layer of chocolatey oreo crust, just like the ones in the store. :D
