In Chernobyl, dogs have essentially taken over. This is a "slice of life" type roleplay, meaning there isnt an overall conflict, unless someone has ideas but yea
There isnt much to life with them, they eat, sleep and roam. They live in the city, so often they live in broken down areas.
They have a hierarchy though it isnt very powerful, everyone pitches in.

Nessi | 4 Years | F | Deputy | Mentions: None, Open!
~
The scent of rain was the first thing the female awoke to. She uncurled herself from her sleeping position and stood up with a yawn, the moss under her paws was a bit dampened as well as the ground outside, as she could see from the entrance of the Deputy's den. She padded sleepily to the gap in the den and looked out, raindrops fell on her face periodically as she viewed the camp. Rain puddles littered the ground as the soft rainfall continued to fall from the grey clouds above. As far as Nessi could tell, nobody was up and out of their dens yet, as some of the canines may just be starting to awake. Or maybe some were already awake and just staying inside from the mornings rainfall.
Nessi sighed and quietly padded a few feet from her den, Her coat getting even more damp as she continued out. She shook herself before sitting and scanning the area. She wondered when the pack would start their day, as it wad around that time now and they couldn't be late, hence their needing to going on the morning patrols to bring back food for everyone. Yes, there was a food pile but it seemed to be running low from the looks of it, there were only two or three small squirrels and what looked like a half eaten rabbit. Nessi would be helping the Lead Hunters prepare the patrols for the morning, while they would be working more on the actual group and rounding everyone up, Nessi would be getting a few of the trackers and rangers to go out on two separate patrols, just to report back anything to either her, the lead hunters, or their Chieftess.
Nessi looked up at the grey clouded sky and painted happily, this was the best weather in her opinion, there were puddles to splash friends in and the younger pack members could have the freedom of playing together. Well...they could play with each other any other day, but with it raining of course it made things a bit more interesting. Nessi stood and shook herself again before trotting over to on of the outlook rocks edges and looked out into the forest, hopefully there would be enough prey for the pack to hunt today...they needed it.

Yuli | 5 | Bigender | Medic | Mentions: Nessa, Ellie [ind]

The curled up dog was shaking, letting out little huffs, snorts, and whines in his sleep. It wasn't until the sound of pattering overtop awoke him. Yuli was having a less than pleasant dream, and let out a sigh as he was grateful to have woken up when he had. Looking up at the cracked cement ceiling above him that covered the medics quarters, he felt a drop of water splash on his nose. Yuli huffed softly, as not to wake his fellow medic who was sleeping not too far away from him.

Standing up, the akita mix stretches, a few pops and cracks emitted by it. Letting out a sigh of relief, his body no longer as tense, Yuli stepped forward a bit and poked his head out. Rain drizzled down, lightly hitting his head and anywhere else it could reach outside. Good thing it wasn't heavy, Yuli tends to dislike heavy rain due to certain memories. Not that it bothered him as much as it used to.

He scanned the area, most dogs not having come out or woken up yet. The sky was grey, the clouds mottled. There was a variety of different greys in the sky due to that. It looked nice, really. His gaze landed on a familiar face: Nessa. He hasn't spoken to her since last afternoon, though was contemplating whether he should approach her or not.

After a little thinking, Yuli decided against it. It wouldn't be much different to previous conversations. Stepping back, his head already damp, Yuli shook himself a little before sitting back down. Instead, he decided to start grooming himself. He can wait to see if she would decide to approach him, though his heart was torn between the two choices. Nevertheless, he should probably focus more on his work now.

Finishing up with grooming, Yuli turned his head to the herb stash. There wasn't much that needed restocking at all, considering his last herb run was a few days ago. However he was getting a little low on chamomile and wormwood. Getting up, Yuli trots out of the med den and makes his way out of camp. He doesn't announce his leave of absence, keen that anyone to witness would know why the medic was heading off temporarily. Yuli hoped, if anything, he could get this trip done alone. Would allow him time with his thoughts.

Rynn / 5 Years / F / Ranger / Mentions: [Ind] Nessi, [ind] Yuli, OPEN!!!
.
Rynn opened her eyes. The grayish blue sky, still a bit dim and with rain coming down. God, rain isnt very fun. Makes everything wet and soggy. Rynn yawned, stretched and was up in a matter of seconds. She intended to possibly get a few things done before a bunch of dogs were up and wandering. Perhaps she should take inventory of all prey in the prey pile? Yes, that seems adequate for now.
.
The lone girl walked over to the near by prey pile, situated by a fire hydrant and street light. One, two, thr- no just two squrriels, a rabbit and a few pests, like a rat or mouse. This is not enough to feed the pack, unfortunately. Rynn makes a mental note for each of the dogs, their favorite foods and prey they must catch. A deer herd would be ideal but, unless the scouts have seen anything, its rabbits, squirrels and rats. She sighs. A deer herd would be amazing. Gives the trainees something to really show their skills off with.
.
Well, enough of that. Rynn gets up, watching Yuli walk off. Interesting dog, missing leg and all. And the deputy, Nessi. Respectable. Rynn heads off to patrol the camp. This rain, even though light, has soaked her coat and moving around helps her forget the weird feeling.

Butler | 5 Years | M | Lead Hunter | Mentions: Yuli (ind), Nessi (ind), Rynn (ind), Ellie (dir), Open!
~
The rain droplets startled the large dog awake, he growled at them and really...absolutely nothing. He was aware in the fact that he would be needing to help set up patrols soon, but the fact it was raining slightly and the atmosphere was a bit to muggy for his liking, he didn't want to move from the Lead Hunters den. Anyways, there wasn't just him to take care of that sort of thing, the pack had Nessi, and the other Lead Hunters to work with. He was just hoping he could get away with a bit more sleep, that's all...
A few minutes past, and a lot more rain droplets fell onto either Butlers head or his back and he couldn't get back to sleep if he absolutely wanted to. The brown bridle male shifted in annoyance before hesitantly sitting up on his haunches and looked up onto the roof of the small shed in which the Lead Hunters called their den. A few large and a few small holes peaked out from the ceiling and he felt himself glaring at them. There wouldn't be a whole lot the pack would be able to do about that sort of thing, as the shed was quite tall and there wasn't anyone in the pack quite tall enough to reach it. Butler let out a huff of disappointment before standing up, walking a few inches, and shaking his coat to get most of the water off. Then her just stood there, looking outside where the rain was falling, realizing that he would just be getting even more wet if he went out from the den.
The male shook his head and started him way out, this was by far one of the worst series of weather he could have wished for, like ever. He didn't like being wet, nonetheless the thunderstorms that might follow this light rainfall. His eyes scanned the camp, his eyes periodically landed on the three dogs already outside. It looked like Yuli was heading out, to do whatever he needed to fulfill his job. Nessi was sitting on the camps edge, looking out into the forest for who knows what reason, and finally, Rynn was at the prey pile, picking out one or maybe a few things to eat this morning. Butlers stomach grumbled as well, the pack would need to go on a hunt soon...but before he did absolutely anything, the male trotted confidently over to the Medics den, popping his head in with a pant.
His dear mate, Elli, was sleeping soundly as he walked in, keeping his soft eyes on her. She didn't seem to be awake yet so the male trudged over and gave her a gentle nudge with his snout, "Its time to wake up, love. We both have work to do." His voice was gentle. Which was rare for him at least, as he was usually one to be quite cold and gruff.

Nya | F | 2 years | trainee
Nya could hear the sounds of the other pack members, already awake. She didn't feel like getting up just yet but her stomach growled, the last straw. Besides, it was getting cold.
-
Blinking groggily, Nya yawned and stretched her legs. One fat droplet of water landed on her head. She gave a tiny yelp and looked up. A rainy day today. Sighing, she looked around to see if she could tag along with any of the older dogs.
Splash!
-
More droplets of rain, splashing all over her coat. Nya shivered. Would the prey even be out? Or would they be hiding in their own dens? The small dog checked the prey pile. A scrawny squirrel or two but they were getting wet. Instead Nya quickly groomed her messy fur and glanced around, waiting for someone to go hunting with. Even another trainee. Nya looked up. The figure of a dog heading into the trees piqued her interest. Maybe she could join. It wouldn't matter after all.
-
Still staring ahead, Nya's mind wondered whether there would be good hunting. And whether she could get away with going back to sleep. A raindrop landing on her nose broke her train of thoughts. Fur drenched even though there wasn't much rain, Nya decided to head after the dog. Even if she couldn't tell who it was. Nya walked after them.

Morgana | 3 Years | F | Chieftess | Mentions: Yuli (Ind.), Nessi (Ind.), Rynn (Ind.), Butler (Ind.)

The soft pitter patter of rain had awoken the young female awhile ago. She sat outside, tail curled nearly around her large paws, quietly observing the surroundings. Her soft gaze landing on some of the other dogs as they awoke and left their sleeping places, a warm gaze in her amber eyes as she gazed at each of them. Gaze flickered up to the grey, overcast sky, she gave the softest sigh. They were low on food and a rainy day definitely wasn't the best day for hunting. She'd have to check in with any of the hunters and whatnot sooner or later, but for now, she was content watching the rain fall. Morgana was absolutely soaked, her previously dingy white fur now returned to its normal white state. Well, not normal, but how it was supposed to be.

Morgana lowered her gaze back down, taking note of which dogs were awake at the time. Her deputy, one of the medics, a ranger, and a lead hunter. All of which could provide good conversation, but she figured none of them would be in the mood to talk at the moment. Not after they just woke up. Slowly, she rises to her feet. Walking- or more so waddling her way over to the food pile. Examining it slowly and carefully, taking a mental note of what they had left. Nothing much, hardly enough to even feed one dog. If it came down to it, she'd be willing to help out any of the hunters to the best of her ability. Of course, it wasn't an area she was experienced in, so she'd probably just do more harm than good. Be nothing more than an annoyance and an inconvenience to them.

With the softest little huff, she slowly made her way back to where she was previously sitting. Morgana took a second to shake out her soaked fur, the water droplets flying everywhere. Her thoughts were a little messy and disorganized as they began to run rampantly through her mind. Everything all at once. Lost in thought, she found herself staring absentmindedly at her large white paws. Her claws gently sunk into the wet dirt, leaving small holes. Morgana found herself getting more and more stressed as the days passed. The worries of her not being good enough to lead the pack were beginning to get to her.

And they were valid worries. She was young, stupid, and clueless in the area of knowledge. And then there was the constant fear that the others were talking behind her back. Of course, it was very likely that they weren't and it was just her insecurities playing cruel jokes on her. But how would she ever know? Its not like they'd tell her if they were talking bad about her. Her worry was evident in her gaze, the way it hardened and there was a small trace of fear in her amber eyes. She had no way to unwind at the end of the day, either. Her idea of unwinding was spending time with someone close to her, snuggling up to them and talking about whatever ran through their minds. But she didn't have someone close to her.

Yes, she liked the majority of the dogs in the pack, and some of them liked her. But they weren't close in terms of friendship, or anything else. Maybe it was her annoying personality, maybe it was her slight aversion to starting conversations in fear of bothering someone. But she often found herself wishing that she had someone to talk to and turn to whenever she had a problem. There was always Yuli, the dog she had a particular fondness for. Morgana viewed Yuli as a mentor of sorts, but it's not like she would just go vent and rant to him. Finally, she snapped out of her negative thoughts and running mind and slowly shook her head as if to rid them completely away.

That wasn't how she should start the day. Starting the day lost in her own worries and fears would only worsen everything. Instead, she slowly inhaled, taking a moment to calm herself. "Today is going to be a good day," she murmured softly to herself, "and I will make the most of it." A little reminder to herself that only she had the powers to dictate how her day goes. It was in her power, nobody else's. With another sharp shake of her coat, she slowly stood up, her eyes landing on Butler. She'd likely have the best of luck talking to him first about hunting, given that he was one of the lead hunters.

Yuli | 5 | Bigender | Medic | Mentions: Nya [dir]; Ellie, Morgana, Nessa, Rowan [ind]

The gingery red dog kept an even pace, making his way through the abandoned buildings as he sought out the herbs he required. His nose was quite busy, huffing about as he hunted for the familiar scents. Chamomile being more similar to an apple in scent, with a less favourable smell Yuli can't quite describe as part of the subtle undertone. Wormwood however has a strong, powerful smell. Unlike chamomile, you can smell wormwood long before you even see it. Yuli can't stand wormwood, but can't imagine Ellie can either, so he makes the sacrifice to forage for it each time an herb run happens.

As he made his way, his thoughts wandered to Nessa again. Yuli grunts, wanting to take his mind off of her. He focuses instead on his brother, Rowan. Little guy but the two are very close. Yuli couldn't ask for a better brother. He still feels guilt over their separation, as it was due to Yuli's recklessness that they had to be separated in the first place. His feelings are mixed though. Even though he lost valuable time with his brother, he got to meet Nessa. Agh. Again with her ? Yuli scolds himself mentally. Get your head out the clouds, and focus on your job for now. Rant to Rowan later.

Yuli found himself chamomile, quickly going to it. Gently, he grabs them from the base of the stem and plucks them out. Rustle. Yuli pauses, his ears rotating to catch the sounds direction. Turning to his back, facing his left, Yuli catches sight of someone. Through gritted teeth, and a mouth full of chamomile, Yuli huffs "Come closer, I won't bite. Did Morgana allow you to come here, or is this one of those adventures you trainees are keen on having ?" Yuli's tone expressed he was displeased, annoyed even. It wasn't the first time a trainee followed him to avoid chores, but then again who is he to judge when he was once like them ? Careless, free, and running by his own rules.

With a furrowed brow, Yuli sighs. "No use scolding you now, too far from base to send you back." The dog gestures with his muzzle for Nya to come closer. "I want you to take these," Yuli says as he sets down the chamomile he collected, "and stick with me as I find wormwood. I warn you: wormwood smells strongly. Pungent even, at times. If it's too strong a smell you can stay back for a breather. Come now" he says as he beckons Nya to get a move on. It's best they move now, since rain knows to pick up and go from a shower to heavy falls. He doesn't want the youngster to get sick.

Nya came out of the shadows, happy to have something to do. "So what do I do?"she asked, excited. She hadn't collected herbs before. Then Nya sat up, tail wagging slowly now.
-
But how fun could picking herbs be? Still, Nya needed to do a job to keep herself warm. "And, no, I came myself. I followed you. I bet I was really silent and you never even knew I was following you!" Nya watched a leaf float by and batted it with her paw, pinning it to the ground. "I do not have adventures." Then she thought about it. "Okay, I do. But not today. You know, trainees aren't all bad. We are actually very nice and helpful."Nya finished with a little sniff.
-
Her curiosity got the better of her and Nya sniffed the strange plants that Yuli had picked. The young dog moves away. "Ewww. That's some nasty smelling stuff. How is that in your mouth?"
Nya stared at the herbs. Bracing herself, she picked it up in her jaws.

Ace | 4 years | M | scout | Mentions: none
-
Ace yawned loudly before clamping his mouth shut. Idiot! He scolded himself in his head. Any louder and he would have scared off all the prey! Ace thought about the plump rabbits he would eat later on after the hunters caught them. If Ace could find any.
-
He shook his rusty red-brown fur and crept through the undergrowth, keeping silent as he hid in the shadows. Ace sniffed the air. Trees, plants, a few herbs and...rabbit! Ace followed the scent. His mouth watered at the thought of food-he hadn't eaten all day. Getting up in the morning had been a struggle, Ace had just been too tired and when he had bothered to get up, there was nothing left to eat.
-
Ace caught sight of the rabbit hopping among the ferns. He kept downwind and slowly creeped forward. He waited...then shot out of the bushes and caught the rabbit in his jaws. Good, something to eat. Ace quickly ate it before setting off towards the east. If he was lucky he would find a herd of deer. Wait, was it a herd? Ace shook his head and raced ahead. Panting, he slowed to a stop and took a break to catch his breath and pull a leaf out of his fur. A scent carried by the breeze smelt familiar to him.
Deer! He went on further. There was a small group of deer eating the grass. Ace turned around to head back to camp to tell the hunters.
