Blood of The Forgotten --- Decades ago, the elven ancestors of the Yloriax Clan made a sacred pact with the dragons, beings they revered as Gods from another time. In ancient writings on the walls, the pact is hard to make out. Broken variations of glamour protection of these Gods in exchange for their own dragon forms. This pact allowed them to fully transform into majestic creatures, embracing their power. As a result, they became a new species known as Drakoria; elves with dragon blood in their veins. However, over time, the Drakoria grew complacent, neglecting their deep connection to the ceremonial rites that sustained their transformation abilities. As the years passed, the dragons vanished, possibly driven to extinction. This disappearance severed the bond that fueled their magic, leaving the elves unable to achieve their dragon forms. The once proud tradition became a mere legend, with tales of ancestors who could transform completely into dragons. Now, the Clan members can only manage a "half shift," taking on partial dragon features but never the full transformation. Eventually, a partial prophecy came to the three elder sisters, speaking of sacrifice. The Sisters shared this with the Shaman, who took it upon themselves to be the sacrifice. The prophecy foretold that a selfless act of sacrifice was crucial for rekindling the lost magic and restoring the Clan’s connection to their dragon heritage, though it did not specify what sacrifice must be made. When the power did not restore after the Shaman’s death, it became clear that the prophecy's true meaning was yet to be fully understood or fulfilled. For centuries after their Shaman’s death, the Clan has persisted with their ancient trials, striving to evoke the lost magic and reconnect with their roots. Each year, they send groups of new apprentices to undergo these rigorous trials, hoping to regain their dragon forms. Despite their efforts, the trials have become more of an initiation into becoming warriors of the Clan, rather than a true path to transformation. Many have lost hope, viewing the trials as symbolic rather than transformative, as none have succeeded. --- Note: Bee and I will decide what species of dragon you get within the RP. There are no choices, nor reservations. It is entirely picked for you to make things more interesting. Each dragon has their own specific outline that determines who will obtain which one. Good luck. --- Discussion Thread Edited at August 18, 2024 07:06 PM by Tenebris Umbra

Yloriax Clan Territory --- Nestled deep within the ancient forests lies the Sylvan Canopy, the heartland of the Yloriax Clan. Here, towering trees stretch towards the heavens, their branches interwoven to form a canopy that filters the sunlight into intricate patterns on the forest floor. Crystal-clear streams wind their way through the verdant undergrowth, teeming with life and vitality. Ancient ruins and sacred groves dot the landscape, remnants of a bygone era when the Elves worshiped the Dragons. The homes of the Yloriax Clan are modest and traditional, blending seamlessly with their natural surroundings. Constructed from clay and adorned with thatched roofs, these dwellings are designed to respect and preserve the environment. The architecture reflects a deep connection to their heritage, with each home nestled among the trees To the north, Tempest Peaks rise as a range of towering mountains with jagged cliffs and high-altitude paths. This region, known for its gryphon nests, wind-swept peaks, hidden caves, challenging even the bravest of the clan. The east is bordered by The Delmar Ocean, teeming with vibrant marine life and sunken treasures. Coral reefs, sunken temples, and seaweed forests thrive here. To the south lies The Scalding Flats, a vast, scorching desert with rolling dunes of hot, shifting sands. Finally, to the west is The Moonlit Grove, an enchanted forest with shimmering foliage, clear pools of silken water, and the epitome of serenity. Edited at August 13, 2024 11:39 PM by The Bewitched

The Trials --- Artifacts are hidden by The Elders, Chief(tess), and Lieutenant. Unbeknownst to the apprentices, inside each artifact found, there will be a piece of that dragon inside. These items are glamoured to appear as normal objects. The apprentices must obtain these items and return them to The Elders. The Apprentices will be given a map with the Location, Artifact Names, and Trials. They all must pass. Apprentices will be taken to the The Scalding Flats to begin the trials, 1. Fire Dragon Trial: Location: The Scalding Flats The apprentice must traverse a scorching desert biome, where temperatures soar to unbearable levels. They are given limited resources, such as a small amount of water and minimal supplies, and must find the Volcanic Heart before navigating their way to an ancient, hidden oasis. From here, the apprentices must swim through the oasis and it will lead to the underwater labyrinth - The Depths of Nereus. 2. Water Dragon Trial: Location: Depths of Nereus The apprentice is tasked with swimming through an underwater labyrinth filled with strong currents and hidden traps. They must retrieve a Mother of Pearl from the depths of the labyrinth and bring it back to the surface. When the apprentices find the pearl, a tunnel near the oyster will lead them to the Hollowed Veins for the Earth trial. 3. Earth Dragon Trial: Location: Hollowed Veins The apprentice must navigate through an extensive underground network of tunnels and caverns. They need to find and extract a Quartz from the heart of the subterranean labyrinth. Near the center of the tunnels will be a ladder out, they will find an opening to a cliffside with a weathered obstacle course, Zephyr’s Skywalk. 4. Air Dragon Trial: Location: Zephyr’s Skywalk The apprentice must navigate a high-altitude obstacle course with tightropes, swinging bridges, and wind tunnels that test their balance and agility. Upon completing the course, they will discover a hidden gryphon nest perched on a precarious ledge. They must wait for the mother gryphon to leave before carefully retrieving a feather. If the gryphon returns while they are still there, it could lead to dire consequences. When they cross the obstacle with the feather, they must scale the storming mountain range, Tempest Peaks. 5. Storm Dragon Trial: Location: Tempest Peaks The apprentice must endure a powerful storm while climbing to the peak of a lightning-struck mountain. They must retrieve the Electra Prism while navigating through gale-force winds, torrential rain, and lightning strikes. Once up in the mountains, ice and snow will descend upon them - they must figure out how to navigate this to reach Winter's Edge Cave. 6. Ice Dragon Trial: Location: Tempest Peaks - Winter's Edge Cave. The apprentice must cross icy mountains filled with snowstorms and hidden crevasses. They need to locate and extract a frozen tooth fossil from Winter's Edge Cave that is deep within this landscape. Once they extract the fossil from the Winter's Edge Cave, they will notice a hidden door has opened in the ice. The door leads to a corridor shrouded in profound blackness, an abyss of nothingness that seems to absorb the light around it leading to their next trial in Tenebrous Caverns. 7. Dark Dragon Trial: Location: Tenebrous Caverns The apprentice must navigate through a pitch-black cave system filled with dangerous creatures (bogge) and traps. They must rely on their other senses and intuition to find the Ebon Obelisk. There is an upper level in Tenebrous Caverns that will be revealed once the artifact is found. Almost like a stairway to Fyrndor, shimmering golden light shines down on the steps. They must take these stairs to their next trial in the Dawn Sanctuary. 8. Light Dragon Trial: Location: Dawn Sanctuary. The apprentice must pass through a dazzling maze of mirrors and light beams. They must solve puzzles that involve manipulating light and shadows to progress through the maze. The light reflecting off the mirrors points to the Halo Pendant. After succeeding in the Dawn Sanctuary, a wispy door made of moonlight and stardust will appear, they will take this to their final task inside the Moonlit Grove. 9. Lunar Dragon Trial: Location: Moonlit Grove The apprentice must navigate a moonlit forest filled with shifting illusions and creatures (basilisk). They need to find a sacred Night Queen Flower that only blooms at night once a year. The apprentices must be quick through the trials so they don’t miss it. Once the apprentices retrieve the Night Queen Flower, the moonlit path returns them to the Clan. However, an unknown 10th trial awaits them, erased from the memories of previous apprentices. Upon arrival, the Shaman gives them a milky tea with a delicate, floral aroma, sweetened with honey and hints of chamomile and lavender. As soon as they drink it, a warm, calming sensation spreads through their bodies, and they slip into unconsciousness. 10. Dream Dragon Trial Location: Astral Plane The apprentice must navigate through a surreal landscape filled with shifting visions and mystical beings, created from their deepest fears. They all must retrieve a Soul Shard from the heart of their subconscious mind. Once touched, the Apprentices awake with their first Tribal Mark. Artifact Names: --- Fire: Volcanic Heart: A blazing Fire Opal that is hot to the touch Water: Mother of Pearl: A lustrous, iridescent pearl Earth: Quartz: A massive, rugged clear gem Air: Gryphon Feather: white and brown, almost golden color with white veins running through it Storm: Electra Prism: A stormy, lightning-charged sphere crackling with electric energy Ice: Frozen Tooth Fossil: A crystalline relic resembling a large, jagged tooth encased in a thick layer of clear ice Dark: Ebon Obelisk: a black box etched with ancient runes Light: Halo Pendant: A golden delicate pendant with a sunstone at its center, seemingly surrounded by a ring of light. Lunar: Night Queen Flower: a white flower with a subtle scent of magnolia and gardenia Dream: Soul Shard: a small, translucent gem that seems to pulse with the rhythm of a heartbeat - the Apprentice’s heartbeat. Drakoria Characteristics --- Age Until their first shift (Halfborne), the Drakoria age normally. After their first shift, immortality takes effect, and their aging slows significantly. For instance, it is not uncommon for elders to live up to 500 years, if they are fortunate. Here’s a breakdown: Child/Young Teen: 1 - 16 Years Teen: 17 - 19 Years (Apprentice Age) Young Adult: 20 - 100 Years Adult: 101 - 415 Years Elder: 416 - 500 Years Appearance: Skin Tones: Variety of skin tones, just no jewel tones. Hair Color: Any/all hair color. Styles can vary. Eyes: Their iris and sclera can be any color. Their eyes are exceptionally clear and bright, with a subtle luminescence. Their pupils can look either like a cat/snake or the normal circle. - Tribal Markings Must be Earned Height: Females can range from 5’6 to 6’3 while males stand between 5’7 to 6’7 Build: The Clan is known for its tall and lithe physique. However, some members, who are larger and heavier, become Warriors of the Clan. Those who remain more agile and slender are assigned the role of Gatherers. Sounds: As time goes on, the Clan has leaned more into the feral side of their dragon blood, often harsh guttural sounds like hissing and growling. However, they also maintain their Elven language - Vyrandel. Vyrandel uses soft consonants that have an elegant and refined sound. Vyrandel employs elongated vowels that add a lyrical quality to the speech. The fluidity of it is similar to soft wind-chimes. Physical: The Drakoria have two distinct forms. The first resembles a typical Elven appearance with pointy ears, fangs, longer nails, and bright eyes. This is the default form for all Drakoria until they undergo their shift. Like typical Elves, they have mildly enhanced senses and heightened speed and agility. They also possess basic magic abilities such as glamour and cloaking stemming from their Elven heritage. The shift, called Halfborne, occurs at the Apprentice age and represents their Second Form. In this form, they develop thicker skin with a few scattered scales, longer pointier teeth and dragon claws, spikes along their back, and horns. Their eyes glow slightly. The scales and horns can be any color and do not signify a specific dragon type. In their Halfborne forms, they gain heightened senses, increased speed and agility, and greater physical strength. They also experience enhanced durability and night vision. Shifting into this form is incredibly painful. It takes time to practice shifting, but the pain never goes away. Neither form includes wings. There is a third form, known as the Dragon Form, which has been lost to time. Each Dragon Form is unique, reflecting the specific elemental affiliation of the dragon. Eventually, this form will be brought back again after the trials occur and the apprentices are chosen. Edited at August 14, 2024 02:30 PM by The Bewitched

With their connection to their ancestors, they possess the second sight, allowing them to witness the trials through the eyes of those who came before. It is The Sisters who see which dragon claims each apprentice. Fyrndor is their ancestral lands.

Name: Aelion Nyrandor Age: 18 Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Role: Apprentice Desired Role: Lieutenant Thoughts on the Trials: He believes these trials are an important tradition, having grown up witnessing them. In a sense, they are what he has spent his life preparing for. If they continue to participate, perhaps the dragons will return, and with them, his clan could achieve their full transformation. Still, it's difficult not to stay skeptical. After all, the dragons have not been seen for centuries. Regardless, Aelion remains faithful. Appearance:
[credit goes to kkbr0116 on FR, don't use] Aelion cuts an imposing figure at 6'4", his presence enough to command respect and fear. His physique is that of a musclar one rather than lithe. If it came to it, he would be best suited for a warrior role rather than anything regarding speed. While he has stamina and is quick, he is not the fastest among the clan. His dark brown hair, thick and slightly coarse, falls just at the base of his neck. The strands often hang across his face, partially obscuring his expression but doing nothing to soften the harshness of his features. His overall look is that of a clean, yet rugged one. His face is a battlefield, marked by deep scars that crisscross his skin. These scars aren’t just superficial; they are deep, jagged reminders of countless battles, carving through his cheeks. Some are old, faded to a silvery hue against his otherwise fair skin, while others are newer, still raw and slightly raised. Together, they twist his face into a permanent expression of grim determination, making him appear even more intimidating. Aelion’s eyes are a cold, steely grey, sharp and penetrating, as if they can see through the bravado of others. The piercing gaze alone is enough to make most people hesitate before approaching him. His ears, elegantly pointed as is typical of his kind, bear their own marks of a hard life. Each ear is adorned with symmetrical piercings—a simple hoop and a stud—but his right ear is torn, the result of an injury that left it permanently damaged. The tear disrupts the otherwise flawless symmetry of his features, adding to his fearsome, battle-worn appearance. Every aspect of Aelion’s appearance, from his imposing height to the scars and torn ear, speaks of a life lived in constant conflict. He is not a figure to be taken lightly, and his very presence is enough to instill a sense of caution in those who cross his path. Personality: Intimidating || Stoic || Loyal and Selfless || Altruistic || Unpretentious || Noble || Forbearing || Self-Effacing || Strategic || Adaptable || Discerning || Vigilant || Equanimous || Tough || Resilient || Bodyguard Vibes || Inscrutable
Aelion has a complex blend of traits. His intimidating nature is not merely physical but stems from a deep-seated aura of authority and unspoken strength that naturally commands respect and instills caution in those around him. In summary, he is stoic, and remains emotionally unshaken and resolutely calm, regardless of the chaos or adversity he encounters. This composure adds to his intimidating presence. At his core, Aelion is fiercely loyal and selfless, embodying a profound dedication to his duties and the well-being of others. His altruism drives him to place the needs of those he protects above his own, often making personal sacrifices to ensure their safety and success. Despite his noble status and the power he wields, he remains unpretentious, never seeking to draw attention to his own achievements or virtues. His humility and grace in carrying out his responsibilities reflect a deep respect for his role and those he serves. Aelion’s strategic mind is one of his most defining traits. He approaches challenges with a careful and calculated mindset, always weighing his options and considering the long-term implications of his actions. His adaptability allows him to shift between strategies and tactics as situations evolve, ensuring that he remains effective regardless of the circumstances. This adaptability is paired with a discerning nature, enabling him to assess and understand complex scenarios with precision and insight. Aelion’s watchful eye ensures that nothing escapes his notice. He remains ever-alert, ready to respond to potential threats or changes in his environment with swift and decisive action. This vigilance is complemented by his equanimity, which allows him to maintain his composure and clarity of thought even under the most stressful conditions. His ability to stay calm and collected enhances his effectiveness as an individual. Tough and resilient, Aelion possesses an inner strength that is both physical and psychological. He endures hardships and confronts challenges with a relentless determination, never faltering in the face of danger. This resilience not only supports his ability to withstand physical trials but also fortifies his resolve to remain steadfast in his commitments. Aelion’s demeanor is further marked by his bodyguard-like aura, which conveys an unyielding dedication to protecting those he serves. His inscrutable expression and demeanor only add to his aura of mystery and depth, making it difficult for others to fully gauge his thoughts or intentions. This inscrutability enhances his effectiveness in his role, allowing him to maintain an element of strategic advantage and unpredictability. In summary, Aelion is an individual characterized by his intimidating presence, stoic composure, and unwavering loyalty. His strategic acumen, adaptability, and vigilance, combined with his tough resilience and bodyguard-like dedication, make him an invaluable ally to those fortunate enough to earn his trust. Strengths: - Strategic and Cunning - Physically Strong - Stamina, Agility, and Stealth - Somewhat Skilled with a Blade - Resilient Weaknesses: - Not Very Fast - Lacks Experience - Selfless; Puts Himself at Risk - More Independent - Intimidating = Not Welcoming - Taller = Easily Seen Crush: None Mate: None Kin: None Affiliations: Sarolta Cimmerian - Friend | Twin Flame | Rival Sarolta is.. dangerous territory for Aelion. The two have always shared a deep connection, growing up side by side and doing everything together. Many thought they were destined to be more than friends, but a major fallout turned them into enemies. However, their bond was too strong to break, and soon, they were best friends again, as if nothing had happened. There is nobody that he prefers, yet gets on his nerves more than Sarolta. Despite the ups and downs, they are Twin Flames—forever linked and stronger together. Elariel Quercus - Parental Figure | Mentor | Uncle Aelion always knew Elariel. After all, he was a friend to the family; he grew up seeing him around. Not to mention, he married into the family. When his parents died, it made sense that Elariel stepped in, taking care of him since the age of 11 as both an uncle and parental figure. Aelion had always given him a hard time, often refusing his kindness at first. However, over time, he slowly grew to value Elariel's opinion. To earn his respect is something that Aelion always strives to accomplish.
Aktith'ki Terosh - Friend | Rival Aelion considers Aktith'ki a close friend. Despite their rivalry and constant banter, Aelion is deeply devoted to him. If Aktith'ki genuinely desires something, Aelion would step aside and assist him in achieving it. They uplift and support each other, and when it comes to battle, Aktith'ki is always Aelion's first choice as an ally. Truthfully, he sees him as a brother. Althaea Tinúviel Medved'ová - Parental Figure | Aunt Being his aunt, it only made sense that Althaea was present in Aelion's life. After his parents died, she stepped up. It is something that he has always appreciated, and if you asked him, he sees Althaea as a mother figure. Whenever he needs advice or help, it is her that he goes to first. He trusts her with all that he has and would defend her with his life. He is very grateful to her for accepting him, it must have been a difficult change.
Esen Eradia - Friend Esen is a good friend to Aelion. Being Sarolta's cousin, it only made sense that Aelion grew up alongside of her as well. He enjoys her company and would gladly help her in any task. Whether they do something fun, or merely sit in silence, Aelion values her company no matter what.
Syllivanna Zylqirelle - Friend Syllivanna is a close friend to Aelion. When he needs to settle his mind or needs some quiet, he often seeks Syllivanna out. He enjoys her company, as she is a calming presence in his life. When he needs advice or a second opinion, he often confides in her. Syllivanna helps with rationalizing, something he appreciated greatly. If she needed anything, he would be the first to jump to her aid and is undoubtedly loyal to her.
