Decades ago, a pack was struggling in a war against another pack. They suffered heavy losses and one elder decided that they needed to take action if they were to survive. That was the start of the Deafening Silence Trials, named for the hardship and silence endured during those few days. At first, only a few wolves were sent out for a week in the wilderness. They were sent to the Shadow Forest, a seemingly haunted forest with beasts that seem to haunt the trees. A week later, those first few wolves came back out, minus one. Refusing to speak about the lost wolf, they continued to fight in the battle, but with a renewed strength and awareness like never before. The alpha, in disbelief of the elder's daring plans, sent a second group of wolves into the forest, for two weeks at a time. Soon, the pack won the war and the other pack's survivors joined the first pack. The alpha gave that elder the title of Trial Director, and their job was to train Trainees for a few days a year for those two weeks in the Shadow Forest. That elder did a great job and the pack became stronger and stronger. However, the elder unexpectedly died, without training a wolf to take its place. The new alpha was scared and didn't know what to do so he appointed a random wolf to Trial Director. That wolf failed at being Trial Director and many of the trainees sent to the Shadow Forest never came back out. The pack, faced with an alarmingly decreasing population and with the majority of the wolves trained from a time with the old Trial Director elders, the future of the pack seems to be in shambles. With the Trainees disappearing, the pack must decide a new path of action. Can the Deafening Silence Trials continue? With the oldest wolves stuck on the old path and the youngest wolves decided for change, everything depends on the outcome of the alpha's decision. Can the pack survive without the stronger wolves of the earlier generation? What will the wolves do in the face of their future?

Rules

2. No godmodding.

3. On RP thread, 50 words per post. I understand writer's block happens, then PM me. Otherwise three strikes and you'll be kicked out. Exceptions may be made for instances that you can't really do or say anything without repeating yourself.

4. No more than three characters per pack. This may change.

5. No more than 1 high role character per pack. This will likely not change.

6. Your characters may be siblings/friends, nothing more in relationships.

7. Hate the OC not the pack.

8. No killing or physically harming anyone without permission.
9. if you abandon the RP, your character will be figuratively sent to the Shadow Forest and disappear.

10. Three posts per week is expected. If something's coming up, PM me. I understand life happens sometimes. Otherwise, three strikes and you're out.

More Detailed Description of Roles-

alpha male- in charge of the camp alongside his mate, the alpha female. In charge of making sure the Trainees are trained. alpha female- in charge of the camp alongside her mate, the alpha male. In charge of making sure punishment is dealt to those who misbehave and taking care of the elders and nursery. beta male- second in command alongside the beta female who doesn't have to be his mate. In charge of the fighters, making sure patrols are sent to the border. Subsitute alpha male if ever needed. beta female- Second in command alongside the beta male, who doesn't have to be her mate. In charge of making sure the pack is fed and sending patrols out to find prey. Trial Director- In charge of making sure any Trainees who might endure the Trial is trained for the Shadow Forest. This one is inexperienced, compared to the previous Trial Director, the Elder who saved many. Healers- In charge of the herbs store and healing any packmate if needed. The next one is chosen from birth and trained by the current healer. Permanent position until elders. hunters- Wolves who hunt for the pack and make sure they are fed. Led by beta female. If sight of larger predators, alert beta male. fighters- Patrols the border and fights off lone wolves and predators. If sighted large herds of prey, alert beta female. mothers- female wolves with or close to expecting pups. pups- wolves under the age of five months. Watched closely by mothers and taught lore by elders trainees- Wolves age 5 months to 14 months. Require a mentor and are taught the skills that are required for a hunter/fighter. During their training, they will attend several Trial sessions, headed by the Trial Director to prepare them, if chosen, for the Shadow Forest. elders- The eldest and most respected wolves of the pack. Assist the alphas in decisions, some of these wolves are the only ones alive who remember the deceased Trial Director. Must be 10 years or older, or have suffered an injury that leaves them unable to hunt/fight. omega- The lowest rank, this spot isn't always guaranteed to be open, as its for severe punishment. The omega will be known as Omega not their birth name until alpha female says so and can be ordered around by most wolves, exculding pups and Trainees.
