Laurel Bellamy

Age: 27
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Occupation: Biology Professor

Appearance:
Laurel has long hair that falls down to her curvaceous waist in loose curls. She parts her hair the the side with shorter pieces framing her face. Her hair is a rich chocolate brown color and has natural auburn highlights. Her hair is rather soft and silky and typically bears a soft scent of warm vanilla. Laurel prefers to wear her hair either down or in a single loose braid. Her hair is always neat, rarely having any snags or tangles throughout its length.
Laurel has bright, doe-like eyes that are a stormy blue color with lighter flecks around the pupil. Her eyelashes are long and dark, accentuating her eyes. She has average ears and a button nose with plump, pouty lips that are a rosy color. She has slightly arched eyebrows that are neatly shaped and cared for. Her face is heart shaped, giving her high cheekbones and a small, rounded chin. Her skin is lightly tanned and she has a wash of freckles over her nose and cheeks. Her body is pear shaped, giving her narrow shoulders, a moderately sized bust, slender waist, and wider hips with thicker thighs. She is by no means chubby and has more of a fit body. As for her height, Laurel is 5'1".
Personality:
Calm: Laurel is rarely rattled, at least outwardly. She never wants to make another worried, so she tries to maintain that air of serenity and peacefulness in hopes that her own actions may rub off on others. She prefers to be seen as strong willed, always holding in her own fears until she can release them when she is alone.

Emotional: Laurel feels deeply, no matter the emotion. To say that she wears her heart on her sleeve wouldn't be entirely correct, but it is close to it. She isn't scared to feel, no matter what the consequences may bare. Her raw emotion shows how deep that she is, her personality rarely seeming "shallow" or "boring". Some may say that she is overly sensitive, but the way she views it is being honest with herself and others.

Innocent: To say that she is an innocent does not mean that it is a good thing. Laurel can come off as naive, often putting herself into bad situations through miscommunications. She simply seeks happiness and harmony through simplistic ways in a complex world.

Honest: Honest she is, but brutally so she is not. Laurel will always tell you the truth, but she prefers to let one down easy rather than to let it all come crashing at once. She'll admit when she is in the wrong without hesitation, knowing that if she doesn't, the sense of security will fade. She always wants for others to feel secure in her presence.

Empathetic: Laurel does not only become emotional for herself, but for others also. She tries to be sensitive, to be thoughtful of what she says as to not hurt another's pride or feelings. She picks up on others emotions well, but with that comes the overwhelming sense of not knowing what to do to fix it.

Caring: Laurel cares for the wellbeing of others greater than she does herself. She takes pride in assuring that those around her have every last one of their needs met. She is a kind and gentle soul who is willing to do whatever it takes to make one feel at home around her.

Patient: Slow to anger or become stressed. You can often wrong her time and time again without her patience ever waning. She'll work with you on anything you need, no matter how long it takes. To her, there is no sense in getting worked up over the little things in life the first time that it happens.

Selfless: Laurel would much rather do for others than for herself. If someone is in need of something she has in her possession, she is immediately willing to hand it over so that they may better themselves. She does not wish for praise or to be thanked, she simply wants to make the world a better place for others and in turn for herself. Laurel is giving and a lover of all beings, only wishing to see the good in life.

Forgiving: Her forgiving nature plays into her patience. Should she be wronged, no matter how terribly, she is almost always willing to forgive. She sees no reason to hold grudges above another's head. Why bother with something that will only cause her stress and heartache in the long run? She'd much rather show that she is someone you can come to in a time of need, no matter what or where you stand with her.

Extra:
-Laurel graduated at the top of her class in highschool and in the top ten in university. She is very smart, but very socially awkward. She was not the popular kind of person.
-She is very good at baking! Her specialty otherwise is Cajun food.
-Laurel is from south Louisiana.
-Laurel always had a love for biology and life in general. She is amazed with the way that things grow and evolve.

The top student who just happens to be popular ;)
Apperance
Starting at the top, Noah's haircut has shorter hair on the sides and back of his head while it's longer on the top. Because of said haircut, the wavy hair ontop of his head bounces whenever he runs or moves suddenly. His natural hair color is an almost blonde light brown. But thanks to his curiosity, he ended up dying his hair a golden blonde. That whole charade was about two months ago, so now the dye has faded quite a bit. Currently, the tips of the hair on the top of his head is golden blonde while the rest of his hair is his normal light brown.
.
For his face, Noah has big redish brown eyes, small ears, wide lips and a slightly bigger than average nose. His eyebrows are pretty bushy but not overly so that it affects his beauty. In terms of his actual head, he has a square face with slightly pale but warm ivory skin. Moving onto his body, Noah has a rectangular body type, much like his face. And while he isn't fat by any means, he does have some chub on his stomach. But overall, he's pretty average when it comes to his body. As for his height, Noah is 5'10.
Personality
Alot of Noah's academic rivals at the college call him Mr. Perfect. And well, on the outside, they aren't totally wrong.
Charming
There's not really one way to describe Noah's charm, because there's so many variables that goes into it. His other personality traits definitely contribute to his charm, but it's more than that. He usually has a calm smile on his face, unless, of course, he's concentrating, and he always makes sure to have an open posture when out in public. He just kind of has an air of calm and kindness about him that turns into charm whenever he speaks.
Confident
While he isn't arrogant, he is definitely confident in his abilities. He knows he's smart, and he's not afraid to show it. With that being said, he never brags about his gifts. He is always humble, ready to learn the things he doesn't know, because he understands he's not always right.
Responsible
Noah is a very responsible young man. He says what he means and means what he says. If he says he's going to help you study each morning, even if he's exhausted from his own study session that accidentally went all night, he's going to help you study. Even if he's sick he will never break a promise. However, he knows his limits and if beforehand he knows it'll be impossible for him to help, he will decline. But once he says something, you can know he will do it, even if it kills him in the process.
Hardworker
There's a reason he has the top three grades in basically all of his classes. Work, work and more work is all this man knows how to do once he puts his mind to something. And now that he's in college, you can bet he ends up going to bed past midnight every night because he's determined to do his part and do the best he can. Because of his responsible and hardworking personality, he rarely gives up. If he says he's going to help you do something, even if it doesn't work out, he will not stop trying to make things work until you practically yell at him to stop. This can be a good thing and a bad thing, so he warned when you ask him for help.
Kind
Noah is almost never mean to anyone and he always helps out where he can. He always does his best to make sure his words won't hurt anyone, and if he does accidentally hurt someone, he will immediately apologize as soon as he realizes. However, there is a limit to his kindness. If you mess with someone he cares about, bully anyone in his presence, or talk bad about a cause or event he likes, he will glare at you. But as long as you don't do the things listed above, he's chill and kind to everyone around him.
Friendly
Noah is probably one of the most friendly people you'll meet. He loves to talk and listen to people, even if he's never even seen them before. Seriously, he can go up to a random person and chances are, after an hour or so, they'll be friends. That goes for people he hasn't seen in years as well. Let's say you used to be friends, but had to leave the country for some reason. Even if you've been gone for five years, as soon as you come back, it'll be like you never left.
Respectful + Gentle
While most of Noah's other traits are of his own doing, the sole reason he's so respectful and gentle is because of his grandmother. She taught him how to respect himself and others, as well as how to be gentle. He's so gentle that any human or animal baby will feel safe in his arms, even if he himself is uncomfortable with holding such precious cargo.
Despite all these good traits, Noah is definitely flawed. He stinks at any games that aren't strategy, he gets overheated easily, and he has moments where he can't read the room or people's social cues at all. He also lacks the ability to multitask and therefore can get distracted easily. But what mind doesn't go down a rabbit trail when it's time to study?
Reserved
The most undesirable trait Noah has is probably his reserved disposition. While he can talk with people for hours about anything you can think of, the moment the conversation gets deep, he clams up. Especially if you try to get him to open up about himself, like his past or his "negative" feelings that he buries deep inside. He hates talking about himself when it comes to something important and much rather listen to others at that point. As things are now, Noah refuses to show anyone the person behind the walls he has put up.
Silly
Because he hates deep conversations and unpleasant feelings, Noah tends to turn into a goofball to keep things light. With that being said, if he's comfortable with the person he's with, sometimes he'll just be silly because he wants to or feels like it. He also likes to see people smile, and humor tends to do that, so really, who could blame him for having a slightly childish side?
Curious
As a child, Noah had always been curious about the world around him and the people living within it. That curiosity had gotten buried for the most part as he quickly found out the place he lived in wasn't a kind place. It felt like everytime he learned something new, all he would get was darkness. Though maybe, just maybe, that had to do with the fact that he was around the wrong people and things. Luckily his grandmother was quick to show him that the world wasn't all bad, though, and that there is still beauty in this life. Now, he isn't afraid to learn about things and show his curiosity.
Nowadays, thanks to his grandmother, Noah is a true gentleman, quirks and all.
Backstory
Noah was the only child of a single mother. By the time he was twelve, he had seen his mother date so many guys, each shadier than the last, that he didn't know the meaning of commitment or self preservation. However, even if her taste in men was horrible, his mother always tried her best. That didn't stop Noah from turning to the delinquent lifestyle as soon as he hit his teens, though. And at the age of fifteen, the pair went to live with his mother's mother. By a miracle, he started getting himself together as his grandmother influenced him more and more. The closer he grew to his grandma, the better person he became. At seventeen, he was a model student and a kind person. So yeah, it hurt when his grandmother died, but he kept her memory in his heart, doing his best to do the things that would please her.
.
Fast forward to the present and Noah is now one of the top students in an excellent college. His mother died when he was twenty due to a heart attack, and with not enough money for a proper house, he's stuck living with and taking care of his alcoholic step-father. But hey, things could be worse, right? Sure, his home life stinks... but his school life is awesome!

1. Noah doesn't have a specific eating disorder, but he tends to not eat just because he doesn't feel like it. And when he does eat, he usually only eats a little bit. Noah

Noah scanned through the notes on his phone as he clumsily made his way to the living room. Today was going to be another busy day. Besides his normal schedule, he needed to get to college early to help a fellow classmate study and at the end of the day, he had promised to hang out with a couple of his friends. Suddenly, Noah tripped on his own two feet, just barely catching himself on a nearby wall. Breathing a sigh of relief, he finally put his phone into his pocket. Somehow, despite being distracted by his phone, the young man had managed to get to his destination, the front door. After putting his shoes on and grabbing his backpack, he was out the door. He didn't bother announcing he was leaving because the only person who would hear him was passed out on the couch. And It would be a nightmare if he were to wake his step-father this early in the morning.
.
Once he arrived at the college, Noah headed straight for the library. There, Rachel was waiting, the girl who occasionally needed a little help when it came to math. Seeing her every-once-in-a-while tutor, she smiled, waving him over. Noah waved back, a bright smile on his face despite being tired. "Hey, how's it going?" He asked quietly as he took a seat beside the girl. "I'm fine. You?" She replied as both took out their things in preparation to study. "I heard it's going to be nice today, so how could I be anything other than good?" Noah answered with his signature smile, purposely avoiding giving a real answer. He couldn't just admit that he wanted to pass out right now; Rachel would feel guilty for making him get up earlier than normal. Right now, she needed to focus on helping herself get better grades. "Alright, let's do this."
.
By the time Noah's first class rolled around, he was already having trouble keeping his eyes open. "I guess this is what I get for studying until three in the morning." He grumbled as he entered his class. As he made his way to the back of the room, most people greeted him with a smile, wave, or both. Some even came up and greeted him personally. And in return he would wave or say 'good morning' back, a smile never leaving his lips. That is, until he got to a secluded place in the back where he immediately plopped down ans layed his head on the smooth surface of the table. Before he could get to comfortable though, someone came up to him.
.
"Hey, have you heard? They finally got a permanent professor for this class now." Adrian, one of Noah's 'closer' friends said as he slid into the seat next to him. Noah perked up at the news, his curiosity flaring to life. He sat up and turned to face Adrian with a curious expression on his face, silently begging for the details. Adrian chuckled, shaking his head gently. "Seriously, you can act like such a puppy sometimes. Unfortunately, I don't know much. But rumors are this professor is actually a woman." Taking a moment to process, Noah turned to face the front of the room. On one hand, they were just rumors. But still, if they were true, things were bound to be interesting. For whatever reason, most professors were male. So if this new professor was indeed a woman, everyone would definitely be curious.
.
"You shouldn't listen to rumors, you know." Noah finally answered, turning to face Adrian once more. "Oh come on. We might be getting a female professor and you're worried about rumors?" Adrian huffed, rolling his eyes. "It doesn't matter what gender someone is. A professor is a professor. They just need to know what they're doing." Noah wholeheartedly believed in what he said. But even he was a little taken aback as the new professor walked in. Now, Noah didn't base women on looks. His grandmother had taught him not to. But even he had to admit that she was beautiful.
.
After the initial shock wore off, Noah's lips slowly curved into a smile. Putting his elbow on the table, he rested his chin in the palm of his hand. "This will be interesting." Noah whispered to himself as he observed the new addition. Curiosity shone in the young man's eyes as excitement rose in his chest. The next few days were bound to be full of fun and adventure. Especially judging by the unique aura Noah was picking up from the woman. And just from a glance, it seemed she was a peaceful kind of person. That would be a welcome change from their old professor's grumpiness.

Laurel
~
Laurel scrambled around her bedroom, collecting lesson plans and such that she'd need to take to her classroom for the month. It was her very first day of class, and God was she nervous. She had at least thirty students in one class and she'd never stood before more than twenty at one time. After a few more moments of going back and forth, Laurel composed all of her papers into one binder before shoving said binder into her oversized purse of a bag. She wasn't running late, thankfully, but she couldn't help but feel a little frantic. She wasn't sure if it was more nervous or excitement, though.

Once she was dressed and ready to go, Laurel finally took the time to breathe and wait for her coffee to brew. She checked the time on her watch. 7:00am on the dot. Thirty minutes before her first class. She lived in a quaint little house around ten minutes from campus, so she still had plenty of time. She received a text on her phone that made her smile a little. "Big day girlie!! Good luck :)" The message was from her best friend and biggest supporter, Clara. They'd grown up together and Clara had been there for Laurel through thick and thin, and she couldn't be anymore thankful. "Thanks! Ttyl and let you know how it goes!" Laurel sent a messsge back before tucking the device away and pouring her coffee into a travel cup with a peppermint flavored cream and a little sugar. She stirred it and popped the lid on before heading for the door, grabbing her car keys out of the little porcelain bowl on the table by the door.

Laurel was intimidated by her new job, of course, but she knew she was ready. Some of the older male professors seemed doubtful of the young woman, but she, however, was prepared to show them she could be just as good as them, if not better. She'd practiced so much for her first lesson, and she just knew it would be a breeze. The first day would mostly be meeting her new students and going over her expectations, but she knew it would leave a big impact on everyone based off of how it went. Laurel listened to a little music, singing to it and occasionally sipping from her coffee carefully on the drive. She definitely didn't want coffee stains on her top on her first day. Preferably not ever, though.

Laurel parked in the administrative parking lot and slipped her bag onto her shoulder before grabbing her coffee cup and locking her car. She dropped her keys into her purse and headed for her classroom with a good five to ten minutes to spare. In the halls she noticed the curious stares and whispers of students and staff who she hadn't formally met yet. Most seemed perplexed that someone so young wasn't a student, but a teacher according to her professional way of dress. It rattled her a little, but with her head held high and a few deep breaths, she continued her walk to her classroom.

The entrance door grew closer and closer in her vision, and soon it was right there before her. Her class of students waited, some still yet to fill in and find their seats. Laurel entered the room, smiling softly as the click of her heels sounded off of the tile floors, attracting the attention of a few students. Her deep blue eyes studied the faces before her as she made her way to the front of the classroom and sat her things down on her desk. "Good morning everyone. Will the last person in please shut the door? Thank you," she spoke up politely, a soft Cajun accent in her voice. She waited until the students were settled in their seats before speaking. "I'm sure you all are very curious as to who I am, and I would like to confirm the rumors. My name is Laurel Bellamy and I am your new professor," she introduced herself, walking around to the front of her desk. She leaned and somewhat sat on the edge of the surface, a calm and relaxed sense about her. "While I do not necessarily care what you call me, I would like to keep it somewhat professional perhaps along the lines of Miss Laurel or something. I'd like to get to know y'all a little first, but after that, I'll answer whatever questions you have about me with in reason. How about we start with you?" She said to them, gesturing to one of the girls upfront to start off the chain of introductions.

Noah

Noah's eyes reluctantly drifted to the people around him as they got to their seats. Some grumbled because class didn't start for a few more minutes yet, some were eyeing the new professor like their lives depended on it, some were silently or not so silently judging the woman and then the rest were acting like this was a normal day. As for Noah, he didn't really have an opinion on this new development. He was just curious, plain and simple. Though the same couldn't be said for Adrian, who was whispering nonstop. But his words fell on deaf ears as Noah wasn't listening in the slightest. He was too focused on waiting to hear more of the accent that had come out of the woman's lips. Sure, Noah had met alot of people with accents. But none like the girl had, which made him all the more curious.
.
Noah was pleased once everyone was seated and the woman once again spoke. Her voice was so intriguing. He would definitely have to find out what accent she had and where she was from. "Laurel Bellamy..." Noah whispered to himself in a curious fascination as everyone started to introduce themselves one by one. Once it was his turn, with a charming smile on his lips, he stood up to speak. "It's very nice to meet you, Miss Laurel. My name is Noah Michaels. I'm a third year student studying Architecture. I plan to be a popular building and house designer a few years from now, so if you ever need a floor plan for your new house, don't hesitate to call me. All my professors will get a discount, and that now includes you. Anyways, I joined this class because I'm curious about the world around me and I want to be able to make my future designs good for the environment. I look forward to learning from you and I hope we will have a good year together."
.
Throughout his small speech, Noah let his natural charm shine. But if you looked past his brilliant smile, and truly examined his words, you would find that he neglected to say anything personal, going so far as to avoid mentioning what he liked, even though that's what most people say when introducing themselves like this. Still, no one could deny his words were charismatic and inviting. Speaking of his words, his last sentence would definitely seem normal at face value. But they held a secret meaning, a challenge for Laurel. Noah had seen so many young professors give up or run away. Afterall, teaching, especially to college kids, wasn't easy. Not to mention being a young female professor came with a whole different set of challenges. But he was challenging her to defy the norm and to atleast stay for the year.
.
After sitting down, Noah absent-mindedly twirled his pencil between his fingers, wondering if anyone had truly caught his challenge. Probably not, since everyone was too captivated by his eloquent words. But he couldn't blame them, considering he wasn't very good at reading social cues or picking up hidden meanings either. Still, did the one person he want to understand understand? That was what he wondered as he eyed Laurel. However, when it was time to asl questions, Noah's hand shot up immediately, ready to satisfy his curiosity as all other thoughts vanished from his mind. Once he was called on, he smiled in satisfaction. "I couldn't help but notice your interesting accent. Where are you from?"

Laurel
~

Laurel could hear the quiet- or not so quiet protests of students, but she didn't quite care. After all, it was her class and she'd have to learn to make a name for herself and to show that she wouldn't be walked over. She had a thick enough skin that she didn't mind the students judging her. It was a part of life and it couldn't be said that she wouldn't judge them back at some point, even if it would be silent judging. Everyone had a breaking point and she did indeed have hers. But she was determined to succeed. No student or old professor would be running her off.

As the students spoke, introducing themselves one by one, Laurel listened with intrigue, no matter how bland or simple their answers seemed. She sipped from her coffee, those blue eyes of hers taking in each students character. They seemed like a good bunch, but the young man who spoke up next really caught her eye. Noah Michaels... Laurel stood, a glimmer of excitement flashing through her eyes as she listened. This one was different. Unique and smart. A young scholar who knew what he was doing, and not to mention charming as could be. She did wonder why he avoided anything personal, but then again some people preferred not to tell any personal details to a stranger. She didn't mind, however. If they were to get to know each other, he'd tell her on his own time. She doubted they got that close, though.

Pulling from her thoughts, Laurel tapped her nails lightly against the wooden desk she leaned upon. "Well, Mister Michaels, I very much appreciate that. You sound like quite the hard worker and I look forward to getting to teach such a dedicated student for at least a year," she told him, a warm, friendly smile on her face. She'd picked up on his challenge and she wasn't afraid to stick it out and take on such a thing. "I know there's yet to be a professor make it far teaching this class, but I intend to give y'all stability and a safe place here," she added before letting the students continue on. She meant every word too. Students couldn't learn that well in such a shifty, unstable environment. There'd be too many different expectations and teaching patterns. It would be setting the majority of them up for failure, and she couldn't have that. Still, she couldn't help but wonder more about Noah. He was bold for offering up such a challenge so sneakily in his words. She liked it, however, as it showed initiative and determination.

Laurel paid attention to her other students as they spoke, commenting on their words and smiling respectfully. Some weren't that into her icebreaker, but that was okay. It wasn't for them as much as it was for her. She wanted an idea of her students before the real teaching began. Soon, it became her turn to answer questions and she was all too willing. She smiled, holding back a small laugh at how fast one hand in particular went up. "Noah?" She called on him, letting him ask his question. "Good ear! I was born and raised in Jeanerette, Louisiana. It's very south. I haven't lived there for a few years now, but the accents are strong and hard to lose," she explained, though she didn't necessarily want to lose her accent. It was part of who she was and she liked it.

Laurel called on a few other students asking similar questions about where she was from, if she was married or had children, and she answered them all honestly. No boyfriend, husband, or children. Heck, she hardly had the time. She called on another girl to speak. "Do you have any certain hobbies?" She asked and Laurel nodded with a small smile. "Indeed. I quite enjoy cooking, no matter the cuisine, and I also play piano and sing on occasion," she told them, and immediately some of the students started requesting that she sing for them, making her laugh joyfully. "Not today, but perhaps another time. For now I'm afraid I must get class started," she ended the Q&A, standing up straight before going to situate herself behind her desk so she could pull up her PowerPoint presentation and begin the class.

Noah

Noah was very much pleased with the professor's answer because it seemed like she had caught his double meaning. And he admired the dedication in her words, even if she had yet to prove they weren't just empty promises. Still, something about her told him that she wasn't going to be running away anytime soon. Which was good, considering like Laurel had said, no professor had stuck around for very long. That's why so many people were asking for Noah's help in this particular class, making everything harder for him. It would be nice to finally have someone that would stick around and actually teach so he could hopefully get a break. He liked biology, sure, but he didn't intend to become the professor of the class.
.
Noah listened intently as Laurel answered his eager question, ignoring the snicker he got from the boy sitting next to him. Adrian was no doubt thinking, 'I thought you said a professor is a professor? Why do you seem so eager if that's the case?' While Noah still believed that, who could blame him for being just as curious as the others? It's not like he was interested because she was a woman, but rather it was because she was young and she just seemed different than most people.
.
Once Noah's question was answered, he sat back and listened to the rest of Laurel's answers to other questions. Ah, so she was single. Then again, it shouldn't really be a surprise. Think about it, she was obviously young and yet she was still a teacher. How would she have time for romance when she no doubt was always busy studying? With a yawn, Noah rested his head on his desk as his eyes grew heavy. Now that the initial excitement had worn off, the young man was back to wanting a nap. That is, until he heard her say she played piano and could also sing. He quickly sat up straight again, hoping with all of his might that she would sing for them. But unfortunately, even when some students asked, she refused, making Noah pout internally.
.
As the lecture started, Noah couldn't stop his tired mind from wandering. He wondered what it would be like if she were to sing with him. She could play the piano and their voices could join together in a beautiful symphony. He knew he needed to get his act together though, so he forced himself to concentrate and take notes. Luckily, Laurel's teaching was pretty easy to follow, which was good because Noah was slowly dying inside.
.
Once the lecture was over, Noah stood up with a yawn, stretching his arms above his head. After gathering his things, he made his way to the door. Unfortunately, he had another lecture right after this one, but he couldn't resist taking a quick detour to talk to Laurel. "Excuse me. I just wanted to say thank you for taking up this position. I know it's not easy, but I'm glad that we finally got a professor for this class. Also, I would just like to mention that if you ever need help or something, don't hesitate to ask me."
