Deep in the heart of Montana lay the Blue Water Ranch. Blue Water is known all around the country, being the main supplier for meat and other such things. It is summer on the ranch, the main time where volunteers come up to work for the season. Past volunteers often say it is the experience of a life time. Blue Water is particularly picky about their applicants, taking in only those who they believe will be a good fit for the ranch. Links discussion sign ups Info Volunteers between the ages of 18-45 are accepted and flown up to the ranch in late May. They are assigned a horse and work buddy, which is also their roommate. There are two buildings where the volunteers reside, assigned into males and females. Males and females paired together may decide which building they would like to stay in. They are allowed into each other's buildings, it's just for organization. Blue Water got its name from the Snake river that flows through their ranch. They have a large, over 500 acre pasture for the cows, about half of that being filled with wilderness. There are trails in which people can take their horses out on when there is free time. In the main building, meals are served. Next to the building is the stables, and a horse pasture. There's various fields of crops, other pastures, and other things that can provide entertainment. Sora Quinn Brock | Volunteer Sora walked slowly up to the entrance, fiddling with the luggage in his hands as his heart suddenly leaped within his chest, threatening to burst out and run away. He wasn't used to going out, and the anxiety of it all was finally catching up with him after the long drive here. He had to admit that he had brought quite a bit with him; basic neccessities, medications for his anxiety, and more personal decorations to put up in his shared room. He was nervous to say the least, but was also excited to meet new people and most importantly the horse he was assigned. As he came up to the one of the two volunteer buildings, he paused, wanting to wait for some of the other volunteers to arrive before entering. Not for much reason other than to calm his own nerves and give him less of a reason to worry. As he waited, he adjusted the neck of his black turtleneck; he wasn't expecting it to be so hot today, so he was fighting for his life not to pass out from the heat. Dylan Jennings | Male Volunteer | M: Sidero (indirect) Prince (direct) Dylan pulled up into the parking area, his small car purring to a halt in a spot. He stepped out into the blazing heat, and a small look of discomfort crossed his face. He was used to the cool days in Sweden. This was going to be interesting, that was for sure. He walked to the small building that he'd been instructed to go put his stuff in, relieved that is was slightly cooler inside. He moved quickly, carefully moving his things from his suitcases to the small dresser by his bed. Dylan ran a hand through his curls, giving the room a critical look. He would have been more picky usually, but circumstances changed.
He was mostly comfortable in his clothes, having dressed for hotter weather, and stepped back out into the dusty, humid air. He wanted to go down to the stables immediately, but a nigling thought in the back of his mind made him wonder if he should wait for Sidero.
He shoved it away. Horses first. He'd come back up in a bit, and see who'd shown up. Dylan made his way down to the stables, already scanning the horses from afar. A handsome stallion stood placidly by the gate, and he patted the horse's nose. The horse leaned into his touch, but still seemed slightly nervous, and Dylan adjusted his positioning so as to not make the horse uncomfortable. He was glad they were free to have that day to themselves. Jet lag was a bitch, and he was exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes were deep and dark. He gave the horse a last pat, and headed back to the buildings to see if anyone else had arrived.

Sora Quinn Brock | Volunteer Finally, he decided, ‘screw it’ and headed up to the room he was assigned. Upon arriving, he saw that the room was surprisingly spacious with a small kitchen area, a bathroom and a bedroom with two forest green decorated beds inside. The bedrooms were empty enough for both of them to put up their own personal touches and such. The walls were a dull grey and didn’t offer much colour, which Sora was sort of grateful for. The brunette made it very clear where the line to his part of the room started by memorising where the middle of the far wall was, and carefully avoiding the invisible line he had created. He claimed the right side of the room for himself. He took the green sheets off of his new bed, and replaced them with his own, wanting to feel more comfortable in this new area. All of Sora’s things were a neutral colour like black, brown, tan, and white. The only colourful things were the sheets, blankets and pillows that he placed on his bed which were dark red in colour. After he had finished setting everything up, he stepped back and observed it with precise blue eyes, before deciding to move a white lamp that he had placed on a desk near his bed a bit to the right, only then did he let out a breath that he hadn’t known he was holding. “Perfect.. It’s fine, if it’s not just come back later and fix it.” He muttered to himself, trying to remind himself that nothing was wrong with the room before leaving. He stepped back out into the heat, and immediately regretted not changing into something more fit for the humid weather. As he exited the male’s building, he spotted familiar pale blonde hair and quickly made his way over to Dylan whom he’d known for quite a bit. It felt nice to know a face in an unfamiliar place. “Hey, Dylan!” Sora greeted his friend placidly, offering a small smile as he came to stand beside his blonde counterpart. Ransom|Male-Gelding|Morgan Horse|6yrs|Mentions: Open Ransom paced his stall awaiting for his rider to meet him. He wondered what they would be like . Ransom was also wondering where his breakfast was . His stomach rumbled and he just looked at it annoyed with an expression that could be very accurately translated to "Shut Up I Know". After an initial rush for excitement that cause him to become an bouncy impatient horse like he had been 24/7 when he was younger. Ransom calmed himself and just stood with his head poking out of the stall waiting for any movement that could mean that his rider was coming to give him attention and food that his stomach was demanding for. // Ransom just relaxed there itching his halter against the wall of the stall. The halter had black and green hues and not to mention the halter even has his name embroider into it's and the ranch's number on it in an apparently whatever proof metal disc .It was a warm day today so Ransom didn't have his green blanket out and if he had he would of been sweating. If anyone has watching he wasn't happy that they weren't allowing him out. The gelding knew that they had new people but did it really take them that long ? He knew actually and it was a long time. He let out a huff of the humid air and rested his head on the stall gate . He was tall enough now he wanted to be able to do this as a colt now look how far he has come . // Ransom stepped back from the stall gate and breathed in a lungful of air , it smelt like the familiar scent of horses and sawdust and the sweetish smell of hay. He opened his eyes and saw the hardwood door , hard enough for a horse to not be able to kick in . It's hinges were rusty as if it hadn't been polished for eternity and it squeaked softly each time the gate was opened and closed. The faint sound of birdsong could be head from outside and the touch of the soft bedding made him be tempted to be forced into a sleep.

Sebastian (Seb) Taylor |Male| Human|24 yYears| Mentions:Open Seb smiled as he rode through the "Welcome To Blue Water Ranch!" Sign. He parked and turned off his black and blue motorbike. He grabbed the remainder of his stuff from his motorbike and then adjusted his bag and stroller towards the group of people , two of them seemed like good friends and were talking to each other . He felt a lump form in his throat and he had to take a gulp of water but still his mouth and throat were dry . He licked his lips and just hoped people would come to talk to him so he didn't have to stress and force himself to be social and get the courage to just say hello. Seb sighed and wondered why he was like this . He pulled out a piece of paper he had scribbled down the address of the ranch he would be volunteering at then his roommate's name and then underneath that the horse he would be riding and caring for's name. He squinted and then pulled out his round silver glasses that he only used for reading as he was long sighted which meant he can't read anything close up without it becoming blurry. As he put in his glasses the blurs formed words eventually . He would be sharing a room with this guy called Sora Brooke, what a fancy name he thought as he drifted off as he saw the beautiful wildflowers and an assortment of random wild plants by the entrance and when he focused back he read his horse's name out loud by accident. "Limerence..." Ss soon as he heard his voice he looked around and then decided silently that he would just pretend nothing happened . He smiled at some people as they passed but he knew he didn't have the courage to say hello to them just yet . He would work on that in his stay here along with it ther skills. He lugged his bag to the wooden building that read Males in white lettering. He pushed on the door and looked for his room he was sharing with a guy named Sora Brock. He eventually found it and laughed out loud when he saw his roomate had already claimed the right side of the room which was by the window. Upon seeing this , he placed his bags and random stuff on the left side bed. He felt a lump in his bag and startled as he pulled out a fake human skull well he hoped it was fake. He sighed as he fell back onto the bed as he was at bliss. Edited at March 5, 2023 02:49 PM by Pastry Lord

Evangeline Yendell | Volunteer | M: Open Evie eagerly approached the two massive wooden buildings, her pace brisk. She nearly bounced with excitement as she walked, unable to contain her excitement. She laid a hand on the great oak door that read 'Females', pushing it open with no hesitation. Almost instantly, her eyes began to dart from side to side, taking in every little detail she could. It was a long hallway split into rooms, with another open room at the very end. She trotted down the hallway, reading the papers taped to the doors until she spotted her name. She stopped and spun on her heels, pushing the door open and beaming widely. The room was actually very nice, with a small kitchen area, a little bathroom, and another room which she presumed was the bedroom. It was like a mini apartment. It was all furnished nicely, with a brown and green theme going on. There were fake plants scattered throughout, but one in particular caught her eye. It was a big plastic Monstera placed by a window, except it had white patches on the leaves. Evie gazed in amazement before she pranced off towards the bedrooms, pushing the smooth wooden door open. The room was furnished with two twin sized beds, two nightstands, and two dressers. There was a hardwood floor and a fluffy green rug in the center of the room. She contemplated which bed to pick for a second before setting her luggage down on the left bed, which was in a corner. There was a window on the wall it was against, and the golden sunlight of the morning spilled all over the sheets. The sheets on this bed were a lovely forest green, with sage green pillowcases and a comforter. Evie glanced towards the other bed, wondering who would be staying with her. She had read the name Jaslen, but that obviously didn't tell much about the woman. She began to unpack her luggage into the dresser on her side of the room, humming quietly to herself as she folded up her clothes again and placed them into the drawers. To be truthful, she was dreadfully nervous and excited to be here. She didn't want to go at first, but she decided it could be a good opportunity to make memories and meet new people. Evie smiled to herself, trying to put on a confident front. She was most excited to meet her horse. Evie loves horses, she grew up with them and they have been one of her favorite animals since. The sunlight from the window spilled onto her, illuminating her eyes and causing her black hair to appear brunette. It seemed to light up the tattoos covering her body, particularly the one on her hand. She worked patiently to get all of her things into the dresser, only stepping back to give a nod of approval when she finished. She let out a sign of satisfaction and turned to face the bedroom door, waiting to see if her roommate had turned up yet. Upon seeing no one, Evie placed an empty bag on the bed to let her roommate know she had already claimed the bed. And with that, she strode out of the bedroom and out of the general room, heading towards the main barn to go meet her horse. Rally was the name of the horse, if she remembered correctly. Jaslen | Volunteer Jaslen found herself staring at the two names on the wooden door in front of her. Hers and a girl named Evangeline. She wondered if the girl was inside the room now, and paused with her hand on the doorknob. Taking a breath she forced a smile onto her face and opened the door. Her eyes first landed on the mini kitchen and the bathroom, along with the fake plants. Tentatively Jaslen walked toward the bedroom. When she realized no one was in there she let a breath out and her shoulders relaxed. Noticing the left bed was already taken due to the bag on it, she sat her stuff on the right bed. The browns and greens of the place were oddly comforting to her. No more did she have to deal with the harsh whites or creams of the college dorms or her family home. Pushing the thoughts away she put her belongings away, folded her clothing, and sat on her bed. Taking in her surroundings, she honestly couldn't believe she was here on the ranch. It was a last-minute decision, her breakup with her controlling boyfriend was still fresh, and the decision to drop from college ran through her mind a few times. "It's going to be okay." She spoke out loud to herself. As if speaking it into existence. Forcing herself to stand she decided to wander around and familiarize herself with the place until someone in charge mentions food. Rally | Mustang Rallys ears flickered as she stood in her stall. The sun had been out for a while now and Rally was getting impatient, she was hungry and wanted out in the open, not this confined space. Turning around she nickered and pawed at the ground. She was relatively new to the ranch and was still learning the schedule that the humans followed like when she got fed or when she was allowed out or when she had to allow the humans to ride her. Although today did feel different, she wasn't entirely sure why. Rally tossed her head side to side, her white mane flying all over the place. Sticking her head over the stall door she perked her ears in anticipation.

Ransom|Male-Gelding|Morgan Horse|6yrs|Mentions: Rally + Open Ransom's ears turned and twitched as he heard Rally, the mare next to him to his left move . She seemed to be waiting like him . Both of them couldn't wait so he slightly turned his head to the left. Rally was a pretty horse and her white mane was ruffled probably from tossing her head in impatience . Rally was a pure mustang, a one breed horse like him....there weren't many around the ranch but he didn't mind. It was mainly his mother who disagreed with mixing breeds ,he loved her but she was an oddball and had strange beliefs...he could faintly remember her face. Ransom blinked and continued his thinking. Rally was a palomino mustang with a pretty white mane, except for a white marking on her forehead and slightly lighter lower legs she had a full coat of palomino. Ransom looked away when he realized he was staring but then looked back and asked "Hey...Hi Rally ! You waiting for the humans to finally come?" It was a stupid question but he wanted to talk to him and he was buzzing with energy and just wanted to run once the bolt on his stall was unlocked. Why did human have to lock their stalls? They weren't usually in their stalls...maybe it was so the new humans could come and collect them nicely and orderly in the stalls and not have to chase their horses when they were in fields or paddocks. Although that would be hilarious for the horses in Blue Water Ranch , it wouldn't be fun for the newbies or the runner of the ranch wherever they may be .He scuttled at a nearby sudden scuttling by turned around quickly in his stall and came back to rest his head over the stall door looking at Rally like nothing really happened. Sidero Peeka / Volunteer Sidero pulled into the parking lot that was already starting to fill and slowly climbed out of her big black Dodge truck. "Come on, Merci." She beckoned to her dog. Even though she had been assured that Merci would be fully accepted here, she buckled on the dogs service harness. Better safe than sorry. She hoisted her heavy duffle bag to her shoulder and made a beeline for her room. A couple of people were milling around but she simply flashed a tiny smile, ducking her head and headed straight to her room. She deposited her belongings and looked around with a sigh of relief. She had made it. She pulled her huge sweatshirt over her head, nearly losing her tshirt as well and tossed it on the bed. She would put it away later. Probably not but at least it wasnt going to happen now. "Lets go to the barns, eh Merci?" She said grinning at the german shepherd as she straightened her worn cowboy hat on her head. The dog merely wagged her tail and it thumped loudly against the open door. Sidero easily found her way into the barn, she was no stranger to places like this. She slowly walked by each stall, reading the names of the horses within each one. At last she reached the horse she had been assigned. "Hey Ransom." She greeted him softly, leaning against the door so he could sniff her.
