"Martell, Martell!"—Ciro, one of the subordinates uttered with a mere whisper. In all expectancies, to awaken the slumber-succumbed brute who cooped up in his ghostly cavern.

However, after a second attempt, the half-conscious brute, in a woozy state, awoke, blundered out of his respite a bit, but, nonetheless, cautiously managed to foot out of his residence and acknowledge the given task, Ciro, word-for-word said.

"The task, Ignotius, provided you, is uncomplicated, but he ascribed that you have to complete it before afternoon. Because we will have a brief gathering or something like that."—Ciro muttered and acknowledged of how Martell lowered his head, endeavoring to attain the level of the subordinates' stature, balance out their eye connection as he listened. "The mothers, the mother, the one who is birthing, requires a bit of service. Since her birth is leisure and distressing this arising dawn, she has an inquiry for you. She said she only relies on you for this chore, so, if you can visit her grotto, do it as soon as you can,"—Ciro, with his shifting figure, withdrew back, bobbed his farewell, and meddled in the overgrown copses. It was, too early, with the penetrating sun wilting low in the skyline and the atmospheres merely altering their hue into the pastel blue indicated how early it truthfully was.

But, without another controversy, when the skimming draft nipped at his woolly limbs, he decided to see Audra, the mother Ciro spoke about. The mother swore to not have her third litter; but that guarantee wasn't pledged, at all, seemingly. There wasn't a penalty for her broken vow, but that dissatisfaction from others wasn't obscured, the alphas were dispirited for a while.

"Audra. You said you needed me,"—Martell, with an exhale of breathy words, loomed at the wicket of the cavern, the mere entering sunshine torched his flaxen-hue irises to glisten in the murky dwelling.

The ball of fur, coiled, breathing sporadically, moved. The respiting damsel, craned her head at the brutes appearance and grinned, ever-so-slightly. "Ah, you showed up. You're such a dear for me, I owe everything you endow me, love."—Audra's remark melted like an ablaze wax candle. Touched the deepness of his heart, stretched warmth over his drowsy face.

"Anything for you."—Martell twisted his lips into a grin."Tell me the quest you wanted to give me."—He added.

Artemis hopped in and out of the tall grass, her midnight black paws gently landing on the earth below her, her nails scraping against larger patches of dirt - ant mounds she figured. The feminine's gaze constantly on the move, her ember hues focused in on her surroundings. Her black nose twitched in the wind, catching scents of elk herds that have moved south into the valley.

The party of hunters collectively asked for the female to try catching smaller game, something so the pups of the pack can get a taste of fresh meat. Artemis didn’t mind, she likes the alone time; some peace and quiet, it allows her to clear her head. Her auditories perked at the rustling under the brush - she must’ve lost herself in her thoughts. Artemis lowered to the earth, slender paws mindful of where they stepped, careful not to startle the… Rabbit? Field mouse? The feminine was unsure of what this prey was.

Artemis stood for a second, tilting her head in thought before her gaze turned to the treeline. A grin broke out onto her face. Perfect, she thought. She wagered that getting the surprise from the trees was best for this scenario.

Artemis stood, her tail lifting high above the grass to limit rustling from her body. The female huffed a breath - one she didn’t realize she was holding - as she stalked towards the treeline, and once within the vegetation, she laid down, resting her tired and sore body, and that was only from travel! Maybe it was the tension that sat in joints from the trek, Artemis could never tell you.

As she laid, she began to shift around to get more comfortable, her thin paws crossing over one another, her tail curling around her hindquarters, head held high and alert. Her only concern was how easily her stark dark pelt stuck out from the scenery around her. The bare branches, the orange and red leaves.

The female could feel a season change was about to begin, and as much as she prides herself in her hunting ability; she doesn’t think her pack is ready for a harsh winter. Artemis took a deep breath and released, sitting up to rest back on her hindquarters, her tail in the same position.

The she-wolf lightly shook her pelt, ridding herself of dulling dirt and grime, maybe she should take a dip into the river before it freezes over. Her eyes continued to sweep over the field, nothing catching her eye; she hadn't heard anything either.

Audra, with an unwinded smile, felt relatively appreciative when Martell bobbed in mere agreement to her plea. He was her expectancy. A trustworthy companion, a friend who'd be there no matter what, even through thick and thin. "As distressed as you see me, Khaos, hunted after a butterfly, straight into the undergrowth,"—Audra descended her head on the leaf-covered ground, finalizing her remark with a soft whine, but her weary irises were still concentrated on the looming brute. "Might've got astray, and the concern in me is increasing with each heartbeat,"—Audra mumbled.

"Ah, sounds like something he'd do. Don't stress, I will do, anything in my capability to get him back to you."—Martell smiled with utmost gentleness and fleed, the moment Audra nodded.

Khaos, with the self-explanatory name, was a worrisome, offspring. A wuss, that yearned of becoming something extraordinary, though, his pursuits were a slow process, especially with the stunts he stretches day-to-day. He focused on, self-entertainment, on his interest - to see the magnificence of the planet. Even when Audra, told of how risky it was, that peril bleeds around the planet notches, he so, confidently dismissed it. He was, a little too immature, to Martell's acknowledgment.

"Oi, kid."—Martell, with a mere, undiscernible snarl, emerged from the scarce copses, bled into the subordinates' eyesight like a ghostly phantom. Unscratched, or even frightened, Khaos, reeled in the raw, mellow mud, though halted its movements when the familiar voice admonished him. And as Martell, loomed, scornfully over it, Martell chose to keep his, vexed tone, subdued, in case, the bordering clan, hindered, like they usually do. They were, cordial, understanding at times, but incensing, over the remotest of problems. "You're conscious of the risk, this biome upholds. You'll be penalized for it. You're not a pup anymore, not for me. You're matured enough, you're an underling,"—Martell began his rebuking, though, with every bitter obscenity, the ascending offspring appeared swamped, regretful, likely.

Martell, still looming above, quelled his bitter comments and withdrew with a mere, ruffled scoff. "Get going. I've said enough; hopefully, this exchange of ours was a good lecture, to abandon those infantile acts."—Martell stated, and side-eyed the lurking subordinate flee this discomfiting scene.

And as soon as Khaos vanished, Martell, exhaled an enormous pall of air out of his lungs, that indicated evident exhaustion, even if the day has just begun.

Artemis snarled at unexpected movement within the undergrowth, quickly on her paws and chasing after the noise. The feminine was becoming impatient, which could lead to irrational thinking. She was becoming desperate, she needed to provide for her pack, a drive within her to do better than she ever could with the colder, harsher months fastly approaching. Artemis jumped in and out of the brush, minding the longer strands of her pelt that easily clung to bryers, burs, and stick-tights.

The she-wolf slowed her steps to listen where the critter had ran off to, tilting her head in confusion when she no longer heard the said animal. But what caught her off guard was the faint smell of wet wolf. Her raven black paws soon became covered in patches of mud, which made the dame tilt her head in confusion. As far as she knew, Artemis hadn’t known of any rainfall that would leave the earth below her paws muddy; full of dirt and grime. She really needed to visit the river when she could. The feeling of being dirty was an annoyance to the dame, one she would rather not speak of.

The feminine continued on her trek across the field, her nose constantly sniffing the air and earth below her paws. Her midnight black nose twitched with different scents; some elk, others were beaver from the river nearby, there was even a fox around -odd- but no smaller game Artemis could hunt. The lack of prey left the dame puzzled, her head tilting in so many directions, lost in her own thoughts of ‘how could this be?’. The only solution she came up with was this; the small prey had run in the direction of their opposing pack - and Artemis knew better than to travel into their territory alone. They had brutes unlike any other the she-wolf had seen, granted she’s only seen the brutes within her own pack.

The female made her way closer to the border between the two packs, but not through it. Maybe she could search the area around the territory and hope not to get caught. More movement proved her suspicions correct as she lowered to the ground, her tail curling high above the undergrowth as she was on the defensive, ready to grab ahold of whatever had been perplexing her for what Artemis assumed, was an hour or so.

When, Martell's vicinity, altered a bit, the mere, infiltrating golden threads of daylight that elucidated his footpath, hinged to the side, now casted, an immense cloud of murkiness, that emulated each smallish segment of the gnarled, gaunt groves and leafy, rampant scrubs. Martell was basking in the dullness, in the forestries cleft, where the sunshine never seemed inquisitive to gleam upon. It was a bit refreshing, the provided shadiness proposed him a bit of spontaneous, shunned chilliness, all before he descended back to the camp, where the golden veins of sunlight would be ruthless within its momentary warmth. The winter was near, on their tail, fetching coldness, fetching life, death.

He needed to relish the given warmness before it all cut loose. And he was ensured enough, the next dawn, wouldn't be so gracious.

But as the brute, stood, tacitly, observed the serenity that was given, his sporadic, tense breaths replenished the whooshing, rustling noises of the woodland. He was, rather, concentrated on his behalf, of the earlier event, that novel remorse was clutching his chest, clutching his different reminiscences to evaporate. "Perhaps, I seemed a little too abrupt on the kid; should've taken it lightly, voiced and stifled my emotions, differently,"—He muttered, the mere throaty remark churning within his scalding breath. "Hopefully, he won't loathe me after it,"—He thought, not being competent to settle the concerns that stirred like a tornado in his mind.

Maybe, the fact that Khaos would mumble, the ensued situation to Audra, made him discomfiting. Her fiery nature was nothing approximated to his, an entirely different tier of belligerence.

"Squeak!"

Martell, with a firmed-up stature and an unobstructed mind, jolted to the hasty squeak. Out of pure, hunter intuition, he steered on his stout feet as his diluted, bewildered irises skimmed to the source of where it came; appearing like an enchanted hawk in a barren meadow, noticed something worthy enough.

Although to his, fast-thinking, it wouldn't have been, an enormous mammal than a mere rodent, or a runt of a badger, a raccoon, though even that, was far-fetched in warmer seasons.

This, rodent, so-called, scuttled, popped out of the leafy, scrub clutched underpasses and straightforwardly, without a gaze up or around, went headfirst into the grinning canines pitfall - was mashed beneath Martell's giant paw, as it last, breath, its last squeak rang in his audit.

"Ah, you came unknowingly, huh?"
