alrightie, so in my many years of WP the one key thing when it comes to selling, is setting up your sales ad properly
What does this mean? Understanding what people like and don't like to see in ads
*How do I know what my wolf is worth? - First off, check places like trading post. So go there, enter your wolves attributes and see what is for sale. If there are 100 DHs up for 30-50 mush each, chances are your wolf won't sell. But if you only see 20 DHswith prices going up to 1k, you can underscore the market a bit; don't lowball yourself though! - Check recent auctions and 'taking offers' section, only recent ones as in the past few weeks, because the market is shifting constantly - ask yourself, would you want this wolf? If your wolf has 0 rarity, 1 talent and no boost/defect, chances are no one except players who buy and retire would want this.
* Please note, I am not telling you how to exactly price things, that is up to you and your research, but I am showing some way out of bound prices as an example
Common things I see, that I do not recommend you do: - Do not post long ads where you include everything about your wolf. I see so many ads where players include ' 13 years old, ocelot marking etc.' This is unnecessary because guess what? Players won't want to read that much. Sales ads are meant to be quick and easy reads, so if your wolf is 13, do not put it there. Wolves starting 15 years will potentially die every Monday, which means if you say the wolf is 13, I; as a customer will know that i only get 2 years with the wolf, and won't even bother to check your wolf out
- If you include 5 rarity and sell for 50 mush , chances are customers won't care. Why? because when you go to trading post, 100s of players want to sell that for 1 mush, so why would I pay you if I can get it cheaper elsewhere? - I also see long ads where yalls include '40R, wolves ranging from 20,30,40-50R etc.' That can get lengthy ya know? Instead pick what you think is absolutely necessary, and then just add 'plus other high rarity'. This will decrease your ad by a lot - Check what boosts and defects you are selling, if the boost or defect does nothing to the wolf, why include that in your ad? instead mention the awesome talents/rarity etc. If you have CP pentaly defects, maybe not include this? simply because its not a desireable trait, again mention the other awesome attributes instead - if you have wolves with low rarity, talent, maybe instead highlight the parents blood instead, or if the wof is ExH/ExW mention that:) - if you have a lot of wolves for sale, try putting them in your folder. All players have at least 1 folder, and use this to direct players there. so instead of " selling 1 Dh, Es, 40R, 60R, 100T, xyz' maybe include " DH, 100T and high rarities in my sales folder!", this way you mention some highlights but you also keep ti short and direct
Market Den: This is a whole different conversation, again check barter whether or not you are overselling, many people do this. Aks yourself, where do these items come from? If its seeds that can be found in explore, chances are players won't want to pay alot, because they can explore. but if you have angel wings, highlight this in your ad:)
The tone of players: hm ok, I have noticed that many players often beg others to come to Market Den, or buy their wolves. I highly suggest you don't do this, try and keep a professional voice. Let us(customers) know, why we should go to you. If you say 'please buy please', I don't know about others, but this would turn me off, because this tells me your wolf isn't that great or else you would have mentioned this instead.

What I do personally, again you dont have to: - I love to change the order of my sales ad alot, so I have a document with everything I want to sell, and every few days I cahnge up the order of my ad, why? Because after a while, people will get used to your ad, and not really register what you have for sale, since its been up for days. Changing the order of the ad will help keep things fresh^^ but don't change every few hours, because different players are on at different times, so try it out for at least 1 day - I also change up what I include, occasionally I advertise my giveaway forum+chimera sale+ BE shop, and then I change it to my breeding sales+ selling explore wolves+ poll for xyz. This way I get my ads out, but they arent so repetitive, agaiin don't cchange everyhour, once a day or once every few days is fine - When I have many wolves for sale, I go to trading post, I include the attributes and I copy the website link, then I write down a description, and enter the link into my description. Its a bit complicated and I don't know if all PCs do this, but mine does. but DON'T include the trading post link itself, 9/10 it will stretch chat especially if you have many attributes in your trading post - I only post non-sales related posts (like polls about changing my pack name, accepting alliance members) in main chat, that is because I ifnd the people react mor ein main chat since thats where they sociliaze BUT its extra important to keep things short and sweet, because main chat is oftentimes fast and people are involved in different conversations, so if you have 5 ads, probably not a good idea. But having like 2 ads that are short and direct would go better^^
Please also note that Your ad won't be a failure if you don't do this, there are many ways to get success and I am not all-knowing:) just old and bored Edited at March 24, 2021 11:28 AM by CriesInTheNight

More tips on a seperate post because this is getting long: - I suggest you don't simply post a link and say 'for sale' or 'taking offers', add something to it, why should we click the link? - switch up the roder of your sentences in your ads. if I am selling DH HW with 100+T wolves, i sometimes say '100+ DH HW!' or ' DH HW With 123T etc.' even small things can help make your ad appear new^^ Edited at March 23, 2021 07:45 PM by CriesInTheNight

Also, i would not say 'will retire if ad falls off' because usually people dont care, or they will buy and retire. So you might as wellr etire the wolf yourself
saying you will retire, doesnt really add any pressure, it just tells me the wolf isnt very valuable or else you wouldnt retire it

So like how many things should we put on it such as ex. "Selling wolf for 20 mush <link> Come check out my MD <link> Looking for items <link> Art contest <link>" Like how many should we do on it at most? Just in your opinion.

I generally do 2-3 links, sometimes 4. It depends on how long your description is Corrupt Angel said: So like how many things should we put on it such as ex. Hey^^ I just want to add that if you send more than 4 links the chat will break, and your link would be all over the place. So 4 or less would be fine (I suppose...) . By the way, can you check for me whether my current ads is alright or not? I changed things a bit according to what you said above, hope its look fresher.
