Plot:
New Jersey is well known for its beautiful views, a treasure trove for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Among its most picturesque landscapes is the Delaware Water Gap, a stunning area where the gentle curves of the Delaware River carve through the Appalachian Mountains, creating breathtaking vistas. Here, a diverse array of wildlife thrives, including wolves, bears, elk, mule deer, coyotes, and elusive lynx, all coexisting in a delicate balance within this vibrant ecosystem. The harmony of this natural world is often punctuated by the sounds of rustling leaves and the gentle flow of water, a serene backdrop to the life that flourishes here.
One spring morning, when the sun began to rise, casting a golden hue over the landscape, birds filled the air with their melodious songs, welcoming the new day. However, in stark contrast to the beauty around them, a nearby canine shelter was about to face an unimaginable crisis. The owners of the shelter, along with all the dedicated workers and staff, mysteriously vanished, leaving the dogs confined within the walls of the facility. With no one to care for them, the dogs were left to fend for themselves, and the instinct for survival kicked in. Forced to escape their cages, these once domesticated animals ventured into the wild, driven by the primal need for freedom.
Now, a week later, the same dogs have banded together to form a makeshift pack, naming themselves The Warren Pack. This newly formed group of strays, a motley crew of various breeds and sizes, learned quickly how to navigate the challenges of the wilderness. They forged bonds that transcended their previous lives, united by their shared experiences of abandonment and their collective determination to adapt to their new reality. As they roamed the lush forests and rolling hills of the Delaware Water Gap, they began to exhibit behaviors reminiscent of their wild counterparts, hunting together for food and establishing a hierarchy within their ranks.
However, their presence did not go unnoticed. The Escar Pack, the water gap's most well-known and established wolf pack, soon became aware of this intrusion into their territory. The wolves, proud and protective of their domain, were not accustomed to sharing their home with other canines, especially those who had once known the comforts of human companionship. Tensions began to rise as the two packs crossed paths, each sizing up the other, assessing the potential threat or opportunity for coexistence.
Would the instinctual behaviors of The Warren Pack lead them to challenge the dominance of the Escar Pack, or could they find a way to coexist peacefully in this shared habitat? The wilderness was unforgiving, and the stakes were high. As the days passed, both packs navigated the complexities of their interactions, learning the intricacies of territory, food sources, and social dynamics. Would they unite to face the challenges of their environment together, fostering a new alliance, or would their differences drive them to war, resulting in chaos amidst the beauty of the Delaware Water Gap? The answer remained uncertain, hanging in the balance like the fog that often shrouds the mountains at dawn, waiting to reveal what fate had in store for these two very different packs.

Ranks:
-
Alpha Male:
The highest position of leadership in a pack. Their word is law and must be followed. If their commands are not met with obedience they are in charge of the punishments that follow. This rank can be challenged but is usually not if the leader is doing well. They are more often than not mates with the pack Luna.
Lunae:
The mate of the Alpha in the pack. They assist the Alpha in making decisions and offer aid whenever they can. They function to help the unity of the pack and is often one of the only females to bare pups in the spring months. This rank can not be challenged.
Betas:
These are the two wolves/dogs [one male, one female] who act as the second in command or right hand of the Alpha and Lunae. They make sure the laws and rules of the Alpha are being followed and help maintain order in the pack. They are trained to take over leadership should one or both of the leaders be absent. These ranks can be challenged, and they are not required to be mates, and often aren't.
Deltas:
These wolves/dogs [one male, one female] are the Third in Commands of the Pack. They assist in helping to train pack members, and often make sure/oversee protection over the years pups in the pack. If something were to happen to the Betas or the Alpha, they can take over leadership. These ranks are challengable, and again, don't have to be mates, and often aren't.
Hunters:
These are the wolves/dogs in the pack that are responsible for ensuring the pack has food. They are also responsible for the safety of the pack if something were to happen.
Scouts:
These are the wolves/dogs in the pack that are responsible for exploring and monitoring the territory. Whether that be helping to scout for hunts, or helping out with patrols, etc.
Mothers:
These are the females within the pack that are pregnant and close to birthing, or have pups on them that haven't been weaned fully. Mothers are all regularly ranked females from one of the above ranks, and will return to their rank once their pups are weaned.
Omegas:
Unlike other packs where these are the wolves of lowest ranks, these are actually wolves between the ages of 1 and 3. They're apprentices, who are being trained for whatever rank they're going into. One of their main responsibilities is to help guard and entertain pups and upkeep the densite. Once wolves hit three, they graduate from Omega to their Adult Rank.
Pups:
These are the pups of the pack who are under a year old. They are to be protected/watched over at all times.

Desired Rank:

Thoughts on The Other Pack?:
He is quite hesitant and wary to go anywhere near them and would rather them stay away. But since he's aware that they wont, Berite has come to mind that the pack should be careful. The Warren Pack is walking on ice.
.
---------------------
.
Appearance/Description:
Berite is a canine whom if you saw wandering the streets- your instincts would tell you to be wary and stay away. He holds himself with great confidence and posture, his head held high- never bowing to anyone except his possible beloved mate. The male stands at 26 inches (about two and a half feet) if measured at the shoulder and weighs 82 pounds. His build is robust and proportioned, appearing larger with his thick, dense coat and his breed-heavy bones. Berite is well-muscled and has a strong bite force of 390 PSI- pretty strong to say the least. This male canine has a slightly domed skull that's broad between his larger v-shaped, folded ears that gradually tapers down towards his muzzle. He has sharp, almond-shaped eyes that appear to be a dark chestnut color. When relaxed, Berite's thick, muscular tail hangs down naturally. When alert, it rises to a level with or slightly above his back.
Berite's specific breed has a long, straight, rough-textured outer coat and shorter, thicker, finer-textured undercoat. The hair is shorter on his head, ears, and front side of his legs and longer around his neck, backside, tail, and the back of his legs. He has a ruff around his neck, a frill at the nape of his neck, breeches, and a plumed tail. As far as coloration goes, Berite has a darker head, neck, and body and is lighter along his extremities. The hairs on his outer coat are tipped in black to create a sable patterning but the rest of his coat is a mixture of light and dark browns, creams, greys, and white. In conclusion, Berite's a well-bred and rounded canine who is quite the eye-catcher.
.
Personality:
Berite is his pack’s leader for many reasons; this remarkable canine embodies a unique blend of traits that make him an exceptional figure among his peers. Calm in the face of adversity, Berite possesses a serene demeanor that instills a sense of safety and assurance within his pack. His intelligence is evident in his quick problem-solving skills and the way he observes his surroundings, allowing him to navigate complex situations with ease. Independent by nature, Berite is capable of making decisions that often benefit the entire group, showing a maturity beyond his years.
Devotion is another cornerstone of his character, as he remains unwaveringly loyal to his feline companions and fellow canines alike. His protective instincts kick in at the first sign of danger, ensuring the safety of those he cares for. Fearless in the face of threats, Berite stands his ground, ready to confront any challenge head-on, which makes him an excellent guardian of his territory.
However, Berite is not overly affectionate, maintaining a certain reserve that keeps him from being overly dependent on others. This quality lends him an air of mystery, as he can be a bit standoffish, particularly when meeting new animals. Wary of strangers, he approaches new encounters with caution, thoroughly assessing the situation before deciding whether to engage or retreat. This wariness can sometimes manifest as aggression when he perceives a potential threat, making him reactive in tense situations.
Despite his fierce exterior, Berite is reliable and steadfast, always ready to support his pack when needed. Though he can be stubborn at times, particularly when he believes he is right, this trait is often balanced by his caring and loving nature once he becomes comfortable with those around him. His cold demeanor upon first meeting may come off as aloofness, but it is simply a protective measure until he can gauge the trustworthiness of others. All these attributes come together to create a complex yet admirable leader, making Berite a truly remarkable canine in every sense of the word.

Colette
"CALL-ett"
Age:
3.5 Years Old
Gender:
Female
.
Breed [Can be Mixed if Dog]:
Eastern Timber Wolf
Pack:
The Escar Pack
Rank:
Mother [Formerly a Hunter]
Desired Rank:
Content
.
Thoughts on The Other Pack:
She thinks they're...interested, to say the least. She doesn't completely understand why they have come into her pack territory and she is warry of them. After all, she is with pup and needs to be cautious of things that could be of danger to her or her future pups.
.
Appearance:
Colette is quite the average-looking wolf, though simply being a wolf makes her pretty nonetheless. She holds herself with a soft, muted sort of confidence—not really intimidating in the slightest, but rather approachable and serene. Standing at 26 inches at the shoulder and weighing around 53 pounds, Colette is definitely not the biggest or strongest wolf you'll ever meet. In fact, she embodies a certain elegance that comes from her slender build, with long, lanky legs that speak to her agility and speed rather than brute strength. While many wolves may rely on their size to assert dominance, Colette excels in her ability to navigate the forest with grace and finesse, darting between trees with a fluidity that leaves onlookers in awe.
At the moment, she appears somewhat larger or more rounded around the middle due to the pups she is expecting, a testament to her nurturing nature and the life she carries within her. Despite this temporary change, Lettie is usually quite slim, her physique honed by years of living in the wild, where every movement counts and every leap is crucial. Her features are sharp and defined, giving her a regal appearance, and her striking amber-colored eyes hold a depth of wisdom and warmth that is hard to ignore. These eyes, like glowing embers in the evening light, seem to reflect the spirit of the forest itself—wild, untamed, yet undeniably beautiful.
Her tail, typically seen hanging loosely as she trots around, is a testament to her relaxed demeanor, swaying gently with each step she takes. Colette takes great pride in her appearance, keeping her fur immaculately clean—a habit that is truly impressive in the rugged environment she inhabits. Her meticulous grooming is not just for show; it serves a practical purpose, helping to maintain her health and readiness for any challenges that may arise.
As far as coloration goes, her head, back, tail, and neck are the darkest, creating a striking contrast with the lighter shades that adorn the rest of her body. Her pelt is a beautiful tapestry made up of various greys, creams, light browns, and white, blending harmoniously with the dappled sunlight that filters through the trees. This natural camouflage not only enhances her beauty but also aids in her survival, allowing her to move stealthily through her surroundings, whether she’s hunting for food or simply exploring the vast expanse of her territory.
In the quiet moments, when the forest is still and the only sounds are the whispers of the wind and the distant calls of other wildlife, Colette finds solace. It is in these serene times that she reflects on her life and the impending arrival of her pups, dreaming of the adventures they will share and the legacy she will pass on. With her gentle spirit and unwavering determination, Colette is more than just an average-looking wolf; she is a vibrant part of the ecosystem, a loving mother-to-be, and a graceful embodiment of the wild beauty that surrounds her.
Personality:
Colette, one of her pack's soon-to-be mothers, is a remarkable individual whose characteristics paint a vivid picture of her nurturing spirit and resilient nature. Patient in her approach to life, she embodies a motherly instinct that makes those around her feel safe and cherished. Her empathetic nature allows her to connect deeply with others, understanding their struggles and joys, while her flexible demeanor means she can adapt to the ever-changing needs of her pack, whether it be providing emotional support or simply lending a listening ear.
Forgiveness comes easily to her; she recognizes that everyone makes mistakes, and her sweet disposition encourages others to open up without fear of judgment. Colette is honest to a fault, always speaking her truth but doing so with kindness, ensuring that her reliability shines through in every interaction. She is protective, not just of her own young ones, but of the entire community, always ready to stand up for those who cannot defend themselves.
Her open-mindedness allows her to embrace diverse perspectives, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Supportive in every sense of the word, Colette is the first to celebrate others' successes and the last to shy away from offering a helping hand in times of need. Intuitive and adaptable, she can read the room, sensing when someone is in distress and knowing exactly how to respond, whether it’s with a comforting word or a shoulder to lean on.
Disciplined in her own life, she balances her responsibilities with a selfless dedication to her pack, often putting their needs above her own. Yet, her bright personality brings warmth and light, making her presence a joy to be around. Diligent in her tasks, she approaches each day with creativity, always looking for innovative ways to nurture and enrich the lives of her fellow pack members.
However, her stubborn streak can surface when she feels strongly about something, and while she may be jumpy at unexpected noises or sudden movements, it only adds to her charm. Her sense of humor is a delightful trait, making her a social butterfly who thrives in gatherings, effortlessly bringing people together, yet she also appreciates her own space, knowing that solitude is vital for recharging her spirit.
Colette is always helpful, ready to share her intelligence and insights, but she remains wary and hesitant when it comes to trusting new faces, having learned through experience that not everyone has pure intentions. Yet, once trust is established, she proves to be one of the most trustworthy allies anyone could hope for, loyal and steadfast to those she holds dear.
