The Wolves Society Pledge

"I hereby pledge myself to the Society of the Wolves,
to use my powers to serve in the name of justice,
to use my senses to guide me,
to take back freedom that's rightfully ours;
for the strength of all wolves lies within their pack,
and their pack unified by the spirit of each wolf."

-Evander Torano, Leader of The Wolves

Plot/Overview

One year ago there was a great storm that stretched solely over the kingdom of Ornetress; the rain that fell had been fatally hazardous and poisoned the entirety of the kingdom’s water supply. Once it became clear it was the water dropped from the storm that began to make people deathly ill, everyone tried everything to be able to make it safe - from boiling, to treating it with herbs, to even religious cleansing methods. But nothing worked.

Several people believe the storm and its poisoned water was the heavens' way of showing its disapproval of the war the kingdom recently returned victorious from. The conquered kingdom's civilians have now been integrated into Ornetress society, now also being affected by the water and its carnage. Many people died from the illness brought to them by the water, while most others recovered, though there was a small emergent group that became marked. Markings vary by individual; sometimes reflecting their personality, such as someone now possessing green tipped hair due to their love of nature. Although some cases of markings are more seemingly random and not seemingly imprisoned by their bearer’s personality and so on.

An even sparser sub-group of these marked entities - referred to as 'others' - began to develop blasphemous abilities; with no two 'others' abilities being the same. People were already quick to shun those who survived the illness and came out of it as marked, but when some demonstrated their unnatural powers, they were cast down to the lowest level in society. Fights between 'others', average citizens, and the knight force becoming increasingly common. Fear and hysteria gripped the kingdom, spurring events that are sure to lead to the kingdom’s ultimate demise.

The King of Ornetress was recently assassinated by a power wielding 'other', though no one knows who exactly it was. With the Prince and next in line to the throne being one of the marked 'others', he was quickly cast out of the royal family following the murder and completely disowned. Now, his twin sister, takes the throne and her tyranny has just begun; her wrath set on 'others'. She has made it the law that for all 'others' believed to be harboring abilities to be imprisoned and hung. The rest of the powerless marked are now the lowest class of citizens within the kingdom, having to now be subjected to immense hatred and brutality, and so much more. But - a rebellion of 'others' is on the rise, set on dethroning the tyrannical Queen Marie. Within that rebellion lies a group of power wielding 'others' known as 'The Wolves' in the making, the name representing both the groups unity and ferocity. The leader of this soon to be fierce group being the cast out Prince himself.

The Prince's goal with this group is to, primarily, successfully lead the rebellion into war against his sister and take back the throne. Of course, despite their unique advantage, the Queen's force of knights and their Commanding knight is hell bent on squashing this rebellion. There is a deep level of hate and mistrust placed between the Prince and the Commanding knight, beings they used to be best friends, before the storm. The Commander - for his own reasons - despises all 'others' and believes they have no place in his kingdom’s society. This will be the primary threat to The Wolves, considering their arsenal of weaponry and hatred towards 'others'. Other threats include a traitor/spy among the group, potential drama between individuals, gaining complete control of their abilities, and successfully carrying out missions.

And even that is not the end of the challenges all sides must face amid the growing threat of civil unrest and war. An extremist religious group has taken justice and the act of cleansing the kingdom into their own hands; hosting stake burnings of those accused of harboring abilities in the streets (whether or not there is reason to believe the accused have abilities… or not). Fatalities due to even minor illnesses are on the rise out of fear of seeking medical care and being accused of being an ‘other’. The fear only escalating amid the rumors of extremist priests taking the place of doctors to seek out the blasphemous race of people within the kingdom. With the kingdom’s borders having been swiftly closed during the outbreak of illness, it left many foreign traders trapped within Ornetress’ borders - these working class individuals facing hatred and being accused of somehow being involved in the kingdom’s curse. And with the lack of trade within the kingdom, famine is sweeping the lands - hunger inducing more riots and revolts and demands of solutions from the new Queen. The great kingdom of Ornetress is the most fragile it has been in centuries - and to add to it and its people’s strife, an opportunistic neighboring kingdom has its sights set on an invasion to conquer the seemingly dying kingdom.

Even if The Wolves succeed in dethroning the Queen, will it be enough to save the kingdom?

More Info

-The Wolves-

An 'other' is what you are. You are not alone in your differences however. While there are several people within your kingdom who are regarded as 'others', you are special, or cursed; depending on your view of things. You are a power wielding 'other' who has previously been visited by a hooded individual who gave you a letter which contained an invitation to a place located on the outskirts of the kingdom of Ornetress. You and your fellow soon-to-be Wolves were greeted by the Prince at said place and you all agreed to integrate yourselves into the group.

Now that you are officially a Wolf, you will all have your own unique identity. A color of your choice will be associated with your Wolf name and attire. A mask (ex:think masquerade-esque style) along with a cloak will be what you wear anytime you step outside of the Den on a mission (it's already been provided). Otherwise, you're free to wear what you like within the Den or when venturing out for personal reasons. Everyone has their own private room where they are to live in for obvious safety reasons for both them individually and the group as a whole. The Den is both your living, training, and plotting headquarters. You are free to leave the Den whenever you want to do things like shopping, checking in on loved ones, or just wanting fresh air. With that being said, you are not allowed to be gone from the den longer than a day without first consulting the Prince, your leader. And you can not disclose the location of the Den, to anyone.

The Den itself is a pretty massive abandoned stone manor. There are two stories to this massive building, the second floor being where the living quarters are, and the first floor split between the training room and the planning room. On the top floor, there is a large hallway spreading throughout the floor and eight rooms, four on each side of the hall which is separated by the large staircase which leads up to that floor. The training room is large and fairly open, things such as swords, daggers, bows, and other weaponry to train and use located there. While training in combat is important to be able to defend yourself in general, each individual will learn to master their powers. On the other side of the first floor is the planning room, where the group will discuss their attacks on the knight force, making their rebellion's presence known, and other missions. Beneath this manor is a large system of catacombs; it’s unclear exactly where each route leads, but the prince has marked off a few routes that lead into various places of the nearest town.

The characters have known one another for a week now, so there's no need for introductions. Whether they have previously moved into the Den fully or are just finishing, they are at least acquainted with one another.

Missions:

The Prince wants to make his group's presence known. Whether it be intervening in the execution of 'others', destroying royal property (ships, attacks on the knight force, etc.), or crashing important events(such as important festivals and such). Regardless of what the decided goal is, The Wolves want to leave their mark, and in doing so, hope to attract support for the rebellion among 'others', nobles, and average citizens. Once the Prince feels his group's presence is well enough known, and they’ve acquired the resources and aid to take on the Queen and her forces, the group will begin their ascension to taking over the kingdom and establishing the prince’s rightful place on the throne.

-The Court-

Many people reside within the Queen’s court - various noblemen and women, servants to the crown, and the higher ranking members of the knight force. Some nobles may be in support of the Queen’s endeavors to rid the kingdom of entities worth fearing, while others may disapprove of the Queen’s merciless actions and inability to bring stability to the kingdom. And some, perhaps, are just caught between both sides. It is rumored that some nobles could be hidden ‘others’ afraid to lose their status within the kingdom, the same rumors going for the servants under the Queen, yet these words of gossip have yet to ring true. The Knight Force itself has undergone intense inspection by no other than the Commanding Knight to ensure no impure individuals are under his command… although it’s the Commander himself who harbors the deepest secret of belonging to the despised group of ‘others’. And lastly - the one everyone seems to forget about - the youngest royal of the Torano family.

-The People-

Within Ornetress society, a multitude of people reside. Some are simply trying to survive the chaos the kingdom has been thrust into, some seeking religious enlightenment, some not even from this kingdom, and others trying to hide what they are. The strife of the various people within Ornetress is truly never-ending, but some are willing to take action to do whatever it takes to restore their former lives. Some denizens of the kingdom are supportive, maybe even inspired, by The Wolves and would be honored to find any way to pave their path to dethroning the Queen. And others could be in support of the crown’s efforts and willing to report their fellow neighbors, friends, and even family to the authorities if they are believed to be an ‘other’.

Rules:

Of the Wolves:

-Do NOT disobey your leader, the Prince will tolerate many things, but a disloyal and disobedient member will be struck down

-You are free to dislike some of your fellow Wolves, but do not let your dislike sabotage the groups safety

-Don't be problematic

-Be a contributive member to your group; each one of you is unique in your own way, and for the group to succeed in its rebellion, you need to participate in training, planning, and missions

-Do not draw any attention to yourself and your abilities unless on a mission

- More may be added

For the RP:

-Follow ALL WP rules

-I have the right to deny your form if I feel it necessary

- Three strikes and you're out, basically follow the rules and you'll be fine

-Reservations last 48 hours - PM me if you need an extension

-While drama between characters is strongly encouraged, don't let it spill into drama between players. Simply put, hate the character not the player

-Be Semi-lit to Literate: What I mean particularly for this is to try and use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. As long as you're contributing to the plot and giving everyone something to work off of, I don't really care how much you write as long as it surpasses 300 words at the least.

-LGBTQ+ is allowed, discrimination against anyone will not be tolerated

-Romance is allowed and encouraged, but try and be realistic with it, as well as keep it appropriate and in accordance to WP rules

-Drama between the characters is both allowed and strongly encouraged! (Keep in mind this is a very character driven plot!)

-Try to post once a week to every two weeks(approximately every seven-fourteen days), if you plan on being inactive for some time, let me know so we can work it into the plot. If you plan on leaving, please let me know! Communication is key, and while I will be patient, after around two weeks of no communication whatsoever I will kick you from the RP. Be active in the discussion thread too, it helps a lot when everyone's involved!

-Your character more than likely will be injured in some way or another throughout the RP, whether it be in training or missions. They are not all completely invincible. With that being said, you must have permission to injure/kill a character that does not belong to you.

-Your character will not be overpowered (despite whatever ability they may have) there will be drawbacks of some kind. We can always discuss and plan certain drawbacks in the Discussion or you can PM me and we'll figure something out.

-I can't stress this enough, please don't just join to poof or to never be seen again, I really don't want other players to suffer through waiting and the RP to die

-Have fun! This will be a long-term RP, but it will progress. I strongly encourage members to throw ideas about the plot, sub-plots, and any other spark of curiosity to me and your fellow members.

-The more characters the better here! The max is however many you can handle

-Appearance has a minimum of 2 paragraphs, 5+ sentences is very appreciated. Pictures are accepted along with a written description, but PLEASE credit properly and use proper image hosting sites. As for personality, written or bulleted descriptions are fine - just give me a good sense of who your character is

-Kind of going along with the rule above, be as creative and unique with your character as possible. I won't be fond of multiple characters with overly similar characteristics, make yours stand out!

-Try and keep your strengths and weaknesses even, a minimum of 3 of each is required

-Age range primarily falls between 16-30 (though really you can do any age as the water affected everyone. For example, if you want to make a fire wielding grandma, be my guest)

-No two characters will have the same ability

Roles:

The Wolves:

Leader/Prince (1/1)-

Evander Torano | Darkness Manipulation | Portrayed by Me

Second in Command (1/1)- You will have fairly good control of your power. While you and the Prince may not necessarily be the best of friends, you are chosen for this position due to your control and strong leadership qualities. Really, you just need to be trusted enough to help in teaching the others how to grasp control of their abilities and act as a leader in the Prince's absence. It's your choice whether you're a skilled fighter, novice, or somewhere in between.

Portrayed By…(Reserved for Mistress Nyx)

The Traitor (1/1)- Somehow, someway - you’ve managed to find yourself under the Commander’s thumb (perhaps he’s even holding a relative of yours hostage as a pawn for your cooperation). You'll more than likely step away from the Den every so often to relay information to him. Whether your character grows to regret these actions as the RP commences, or maybe even wants to see the downfall of The Wolves, I'll let you decide. You will remain a spy for a while, though a level of suspicion will be raised between the other members once certain missions or plans are foiled. Throw as many ideas and situations for this role as you want, if you want help with an idea, talking it out with the group in the Discussion would be fun.

Nikos Sumner | Animal Possession | Portrayed by the Wayne pack

The Wolves' Spy (1/1) - An individual either belonging to the group, or simply one working close enough with the group to be considered a member, has successfully infiltrated (or previously had) the Queen's court. The risk of relaying information is high, considering the consequences if caught, but the infomration The Wolves recieve may prove vital.

Quinn A'Niellk | Energy | Portrayed by Dark Matter

Other Members(8/Unlimited)- You are the backbone and the primary make-up of the group. Not all of you will start by being skilled fighters in combat, and none of you will have complete control of your abilities. You will train, plan, and fight alongside your leader and other members.

Evander Torano

"Only followers care if they're liked, a leader does what's necessary."

Full Name:

Evander Illen Torano

Nickname(s):
Ev; hates being referred to as 'Evan'

Prince of the Damned

Wolf Name:
Noctis ("of the dark")

Color:
Black

Age:
26

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
*Assumed* to be Heterosexual

Role:
Prince/Leader

Appearance:

At first glance, Evander's features embody an intimidating coldness. A defined jawline setting the build of his face and combining well with his sharp cheekbones. His eyes are his most prominent feature and usually the first thing one notices; especially because they are his mark. The bright silver orbs give off a faint glow, his irises flecked with a midnight black. They hold great restlessness, several shades of silver and gray always swirling and storm like. A dark set of ever so slightly curled lashes frame his slightly hooded eyes. Looking past his eyes, the brows that rest above are angled and only add definition to his hardened stares. His nose is more delicately structured, slightly down turned. His lips are thinner and usually held in a straight line. The manor of speech he usually holds is both passionate and controlled and combined with a more serious expression.

He stands at a more average height of 5'11 and weighs a little over 150 pounds. His build is fairly proportional considering he's not heavily lined with insane muscles, but isn't lacking in that department as well. He's toned with a noticeable but not severe amount of muscles, suiting someone who would be considered a swift combatant. While he may appear otherwise flawless, upon closer inspection faded scars along his arms, legs, and torso are there. From years of training, he earned his fair share of nicks and slices, and while most of them are small and practically invisible, there are sparse larger ones. The most noticeable scar on him goes down in a slightly jagged line on the left side of his neck. Another flaw he possesses is the weakness in his left hip, an injury sustained in a horse riding accident left his hip to heal slightly out of place. It's his weakest point so naturally he does what he can to guard it.

The hair that sits straight and semi-short is a dark golden brown. There are a few curlier locks that tend to curl around the nape of his neck and sides of his head, but other than that it's straight. Accenting his brown scale hair is skin that is a shade just above tan. It's the only part of him that seems warm compared to his otherwise cold aura. His usual guarded and predatory type stance does not aid in making him seem friendly, but for those who manage to get close with him, he is seen in a very different way. Around those he trusts, his demeanor changes into a much more open and friendlier individual. The piercing silver eyes truly glowing and his expression calmer, almost serene.

Attire:

More often than not, he sports a chocolate colored overcoat with three buttons spaced out down the coat accompanied by a quarter sleeve shirt of varying solid colors to match. The coat being tailored to him fits snugly around him, but not tight enough to disallow quick movement. A mix of boots and leisurely styled shoes are worn depending on the day he has planned. Two gold hilted daggers are often strapped to his waist, though some days he accompanies himself with a simpler styled sword. The colors he wears are usually all darker schemed, wearing only brighter colored clothing for special occasions or festivities.

For missions, his cloak is a solid midnight black with a large hood that when up casts a grim shadow that hides the presence of a human face. It goes to just below his knees, covering everything else completely when it's on. When the hood is down, the ball style mask on his face is a similar midnight color. Intricate silver swirls are found on the mask that only make his eyes stand out more, drawing complete attention to them.

When it comes to training, he usually wears tighter fitting brown or black colored trousers and a sleeveless shirt that hugs everywhere it covers. Clothes that match his activities are important to Evander as he likes to model efficiency.

Weaponry:

Most skilled in daggers and knives, he keeps his dual pair usually on him at all times. They were his primary weapon in training as a youth as he prefers combat that's up close and personal. While he is a skilled swordsman, he is not without fault in the art of sword play. There are times he makes simple mistakes when wielding a larger blade that could mean the difference between life and death, so unless a sword is more appropriate weapon in a situation, he prefers his daggers.

Ability:

Darkness Manipulation-
His power lies within the shadows themselves. Doing best in darker settings, he can call upon the dark to do his bidding. When he wants to remain unseen, he cloaks himself with shadows and disappear into them, almost as if entering a void. It does not have the same effect in bright lit areas or outside in the middle of the day however, like mentioned before, darker settings work in his favor. While cloaking may not always be useful to him, he can resonate a black mist that dances tightly around him and use to create 'threads' of darkness to use as weapons, whether they act more whip like or as more of a sharpened blade depends on the energy he can muster to control them. The mist itself is it's own terrifying entity that suffocates anyone caught in it. While the mist can be spread farther away from himself and even sometimes enough to fill a room, there has to be a great level of relatively undisturbed focus and energy directed into manipulating it. Evander is also able to make the temperature in even the hottest of rooms instantly plunge into a teeth-chattering chill. Temperature is tricky though, considering he can only drop it in settings with less light. In theory he'd like to think if he was careful enough, Evander could absolve himself into the shadows to allow for some form of travel through them. Though he is quite hesitant to experiment with such a thought, considering how... sentient the darkness in the world feels to him. He'd rather not lose himself to it.

As daunting as his ability is, it has its drawbacks. He doesn't like using them for too long consecutively, with the reason being it feels the shadows threaten to devour him. Relaying this information to someone else, its described as being submerged in weighted water and if he were to indulge in his abilities for too long in one sitting, he would drown. Controlling the dark was something he could only compare to threading the worlds smallest needle, and not stressing this enough, the amount of energy and focus required is something he has struggled with, but understands and has found a balance between them.

Personality:

Great and natural leadership is the quality he prides himself in and something that he wields with ease. Evander, even as a child, has been the head strong and determined person he is in the present. Justice and a heavy presence of morality have always been his basic principles and frame for his doings as he looked forward to seizing the throne. While he use to see the world in a strictly black and white way, gray is all he has been able to see since his disowning. While uncertainty is a new thing to him, his natural approach to composing himself and his thoughts have led him to not be in complete state of disarray. Honesty is a very important characteristic to him and while he is painfully honest with others, he expects it in return. Being a painfully loyal person, he is very careful with who he trusts and attributes to what some would call 'trust issues'. Particularly, because of the recent fallout with his sister. While he was never really one to judge before becoming an 'other' he is much more sensitive and is extremely unbiased when it comes to peoples appearances. Being someone who possesses a strong sense of leadership, he is also highly adaptable to most situations. Whether it be in conversation or on a battle field, Evander is one to play the cards he is dealt even when they are shuffled abruptly. While he does demonstrate a great deal of patience, he usually only gives it to those he feels are worth his time. An action driven person is what he is, but he is in no way impulsive. His level of observance and caution leads him to make what he believes to be the best course of said action.

The level of passion within Evander is one of his greatest attributes as well as a contributing factor to his more negative side. While he seeks to give equality and claim his rightful place on the throne, his tactics to achieve his aspirations are sometimes considered cruel. There is a side to him that is so determined to achieve his desires he is willing to do whatever it takes to get to them. This could now comes in the form of unintended casualties in his war against his sister and those who despise the 'others' for their differences. There is also a great deal of passion and a strong sense to defend his Wolves. Regardless of whether it's from outside threats or the careless actions of a member of his group, he has no problem eliminating the threat. His worst quality is his vindictiveness. 'Revenge is best served cold', and that is what he stands by. Those that have looked down and despised the 'others' for their differences is something he wants them to pay for. Even his own blood will not be exempt from his fury. A trait he doesn't actually possess, but one that people typically associate with him, is apathy. His forbidding appearance in nature leaves many to believe he lacks any sort of care for others. What is mistaken as apathy however is what he considers guarded. While he can tend to sometimes draw in more curiosity driven individuals, he himself is not overly concerned with the 'why' of things let alone the understanding of people.

All other things aside, he really is a caring and more gentle being. It takes time to wear down his walls, but when they are, he is much more alluring to be around. A feeling of relaxation around those he deems trustworthy leads to him flashing his rarely seen smile. Making jokes and participating in fun filled activities are things he really does enjoy. It is an odd sight for those familiar to his more controlled and unemotional demeanor, but it is the side to him that he would prefer to wear. Typically, when it comes to personal disputes and other peoples drama, he won't get involved. Unless the dispute is founded on something he deems immoral, he leaves others to sort through their problems. While he is willing to listen to people be vocal about their struggles, he himself is not open to sharing. It may not be considered the best thing for him to do, but bottling and storing his emotions and problems is something he thinks will spare others. Unless he has a major problem with someone, and they would be made aware quickly, 'feelings' of his own are not what he considers to be priority.

Backstory:

Born to the King and Queen of Ornetress, him and his twin sister, Marie, were groomed from a very young age for their role in the royal family. While Evander took to the prepping and was eager to hold the responsibility of being the kingdoms future King. Marie, on the other hand, despised the amount of rules and etiquette that came with the title of Princess. Despite their very different views, Evander and Marie were relatively close until their teen years. As they got older, their differences led to them drifting apart. Both still loved each other and their parents, but they just couldn't come to understanding one another. Aside from his sister, he found a friend in one of the knights' sons. Training intensely together, they were perfectly matched. Evander's first falter with a sword happened in a training session with the boy, he received the slash on the side of his neck as a mark of failure. This only led to a more determined Evander to perfect his art in combat, sometimes pushing himself so hard he would have to be physically stopped and forced to rest. Training with both the knights' son and with his several trainers, he learned a great deal of discipline and balance.

By the time the history changing storm came into existence, the two siblings were not on speaking terms. In Marie's protest against being of royalty, it included her not partaking in family affairs. Once the water began to effect people, their mother came down with the illness associated with it and quickly succumb to it. With the passing of their mother, Evander and Marie came back together to mourn the loss. They weren't on great terms, but enough to be there for one another. Soon the rest of the family felt the effects of the water, the King and Marie recovering from the illness. Evander, however, became one of the few to survive the sickness with an interesting new trait; his formerly blue eyes now silver and forever stirring restlessly. Once there were a handful of these newly marked individuals, there were already growing unease about the differences. It wasn't until rumors of these marked people with unusual abilities began to surface that people truly started resenting what they deemed 'others'. Evander's appearance once considered striking was now something that made people despise and vocalize against having a marked ruler. While hurt, he was still determined to show and promote fair treatment regardless of differences and rumors. His father did not show bias to 'others' or his son, preaching to the kingdom Evander's words. Marie was one of the ones uneased by these newly emerging people, and attempted to express her dismay to her father, though it took a fatal incident to sway his opinion.

About two months after the storm, a fight between a poor and marked person and a merchant took place in the kingdom's piazza. The individual used an inhuman amount of strength against the merchant and threw him through a building, which led to the merchants demise. This is what led the King to begin to sanction marked individuals, noting they should be skeptically viewed. Even with the King's hesitancy, he still announced Evander to be the heir to the throne. Then the King was executed by a power wielding marked 'other'. Outrage and fear struck the entire kingdom. Marie stepped in, and using the people to her advantage, successfully cast Evander out of the royal palace and disowned him. During this event, the boy he considered a friend declared his hate of 'others' and was given the rank of Commander over the kingdoms knight force. The parting gift Evander received from his sister was a single black rose, which he considered to be their declaration of war. An intense rage over the ruling has left him seeking revenge against Marie and the people who support the unfair treatment of 'others' ever since. During his exile, he learned that he himself had acquired the manipulation of the dark.
For the next several months, he has done nothing but plot and learn to control and use his ability. Realizing the growing unrest of 'others' growing rapidly, an idea struck him. Using these outcasted people, he would seek out those who held powers such as himself. Whispers spread like wild fire through the community of the marked until information about ability wielding 'others' surfaced. Evander himself tracked down those who were rumored to be powered, and once confirming, sent someone on his behalf to deliver letters to a select few. The manor he found refuge in he decided would be the perfect place to hold and operate the group he had come to found. Creating the pledge to his newly founded society, he knew this would be how the tables would turn.

Marie Torano

"If it must end in blood, then so be it."

Full Name:

Queen Marie Vita Torano

Nickname(s):

Mar

Queen Marie

Queen of Ornetress

The Tyrant Queen

Her Highness

Her Majesty

Age:

26

Gender:

Female

Sexuality:

Hetero

Role:

Queen of Ornetress

Appearance:

There is a beauty to Marie that is best described as both dark and dangerous. She’s certainly no delicate looking doll though. However she does possess curves, a face that possesses a simpler enchantment, and an ever present aura of power that makes her in herself a woman one could consider attractive. Her face is that of a subtle oval with a set of high-rise cheekbones to add a flare of definition to her otherwise soft jawline and rounded chin. A dull chocolate brown is the primary color of her eyes, with various hints of lighter, teasing shades of tan flecking her iris’. Just above her eyes are a thinner set of highly defined and angled brows. She possesses a more pointed nose with an otherwise straight bridge, though it does upturn a bit, which can make her appear a fair bit snobbish. The lips that are either always held in a straight line or a bitter smile contain a slight pout to go along with their natural medium toned pink hue. From those lips comes a voice that’s a soft yet chilling sound. It’s an octave or two higher than the average girl, but it’s oddly fitting to the tyrant Queen.. Marie’s natural color of hair is that of a honey brown, fairing on the lighter spectrum of the color. There is a natural subtle wave with evident volume to her hair that falls to her mid back, although you’re more likely to see her with her hair styled in a fishtail braid, or put up into a neat bun.

Marie stands confidently at a height of 5 '8, inheriting her mother’s genes of taller than average height, which makes her somewhat intimidating along with her steady cold stares. In contrast with her aloof demeanor, her skin is a shade of a warmer olive with medium undertones. It looks more like she’s constantly slightly sun kissed with a soft tan actually. It’s rather rare to see her in a relaxed stance, which could make her appear a little rigid when she’s still. It’s pretty clear her figure though does not support a woman capable of brute strength, but rather greater flexibility and nimbleness. She possesses a light hourglass ast her natural body type, no matter how hard she has tried to make herself perfectly proportional.

Personality:

The Queen of Ornetress is a woman harboring a variety of qualities. Above most things, she is a demanding woman; greatly particular as well as selective. The Queen could be considered the type to enjoy ‘the sound of her own voice’ in accordance to her bossier demeanor. Burdening herself with other people’s opinions and feelings is something she won’t do either. Truthfully though she is a fussy female; desiring things to either go her way… or not at all. All things considered this quality would seemly be rather childish, but she hardly feigns much care in changing. Marie tends to hold even those deeply beneath her to unfairly high standards as well - she is no perfectionist herself, but those in her presence best be at their greatest or risk being cast away.

Marie isn’t exactly an impulsive speaker, nor someone careless enough to simply let her tongue run too rampant. However, should something catch the woman’s attention -a security she sees in someone perhaps - she is not ashamed to point it out. While it mostly originates from a crest of malice rooted into her make-up, it also sources a sense of joy to the Queen. Should Marie be assessed for any wrong-doings - a thing she’s become well accustomed to as of recently - she feels no remorse. May be it her actions or crude words, she pays no mind to the carnage it incites. During her time as a rebellious, non-conformist princess, Marie developed a taste for gossip and sick rumors. And as Queen, she still finds herself enthralled by such things. While she must rely on some of her more loyal help to feed her the gossip she craves, the Queen herself is not above allowing her own rumorous words to be passed down; from ear to ear, and mouth to mouth. The things the Queen may choose to spread can, and do, easily morph into weeds of dysfunction and prominent travesty.

Marie adores being met with swells of kindness and compassion, albeit she counters such things with a cold distaste. It’s easy to say she’s rude, because in due fact she is. The Queen is not about to let a single soul believe they are truly worthy of her approval, time, or attention, though she devours the thrill of watching people try to gain her favor. She is quite the defensive creature though. Should Marie face slander of any kind directly she responds with a silence as chilling as ice, but rest assured her despise and upset does not simply end there. The Queen is the type to plunge a beautifully crafted and jeweled dagger into one’s underbelly; the dagger being her mouth itself, her victim ruined by the dastardly acts of her spells of gossip and harsh reprimands. Marie is the kind of woman who, if slapped, will surely slap back… just harder, with a touch of nail.

It would be of no surprise to know that the Queen is vastly shallow; should someone or something not meet her standards, she will no longer pay it much mind. Seeing things for what they are on the surface is all Marie cares to see, and while her quick judgment may in fact be wrong, she refuses to be convinced to see or feel otherwise. With those things that fail to satisfy the Queen, the evidence will surely and prominently be etched into her face in the form of steadfast disappointment. This quality carries over to her materialistic self. If any form of gift should be presented to the Queen, it best be either everything the woman has ever wanted, or at least flattering enough to appeal to her shallow nature. Otherwise, giftbearers can politely fuck off.

Woe to those who prod the Queen and expect such a thing to go unprovoked. No matter how insignificant a wrongdoing against her may seem, if Marie feels it necessary, she’ll get a lick in and claim a pay back one way or another. Her sense of revenge is largely outshined by her sense of pettiness, being someone that dwells on ‘that one day’ someone wronged her, or things went awry for the woman. Through this pettiness lies a competitive essence of sorts. She is not one to lose, perhaps she’s not even capable of fathoming such a thing. No - she’ll lose the day hell freezes over, and even then… just maybe she’ll still stand victorious.

Strengths:

-Knows How to Weaponize Her Tongue

-Skilled In Collecting Allies Through Debt And Promises of Power

-Strong-Willed

-Opportunistic

Weaknesses:

-Selfish/Shallow

-Her Seat Of Power Provides Her With Most Of Her Strength

-Petty Beyond Reason

-Cannot Physically Defend Herself Well

Backstory:

Simply put, Marie has always been -and will forever be- a brat. She was never quite the fawned upon child, being much less adored than the golden child Evander had been, but faring better than the youngest of the royal children who was hardly acknowledged. Tantrums befit to a toddler involving screaming, crying, and throwing things were an all too common practice for a young and even adolescent Princess Marie - though these aspects to her not getting her way are sure to bubble to the surface should she be enraged enough. Marie has never been soft-hearted, nor empathetic to those in her company. Bossing servants around, being demanding to all in her presence, and desiring only the best of what the world had to offer is exactly how Marie has lived her entire life.

She was spoiled, as if one couldn’t tell. But only as a way to replace the attention and affection she sought. The key to ‘shutting’ the girl up for a few days was giving her prized possessions, something her father had down up until his murder. The former Queen was a difficult woman to please in her own right, and a mother not exactly suited to harbor a nurturing affection for her own spawn. Some of those qualities perhaps shaped the person Marie grew to be, though not of all her more nasty traits are so easily excused.

Following the storm, the illness she too had survived, and the emergence of the marked… Marie began to sense opportunity. Never has she actually desired to rule as a Queen or exert power over an entire kingdom, but petty is as petty does - she simply didn’t want her brother to have yet another thing that was seemingly handed so easily to him. So Marie gossiped and conspired all up until her father’s murder, and it appeared all of her work fell into place when it came to fully removing her brother from the court, and reigning as Ornetress’ new Queen.

Enedina Lovell

"Why, then the world's mine oyster, which I with sword will open."

Full Name:

Enedina Archgrace Lovell

Nickname(s):
En, Tomato

Wolf Name:
Solanum ("sun preference", also a genus of the tomato plant)

Color:
Orange

Age:
24

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Heterosexual until proven otherwise

Role:
Other Member

Appearance:

At first glance En seems like a soft, lovely person with womanly curves and a long, fluffy red hair falling to her hip when dry, and to her thighs when wet. Wavy and curlier towards the end. Her pale skin is in stark contrast with her abnormally red, plump cheeks. Her eyes are large, with golden irises and long dark lashes. They are warm, expressive and filled with child-like wonder. Under her pretty slightly upturned nose was a small mouth with heavier lower lips, making her seem like she's pouting when she's not smiling. Plump and red, just like her cheeks.

Upon closer inspection, however, one can see the toned muscles on her arms and legs. The calloused hands, wide and bony with protruding veins from extensive use. Wide feet from a lot of walking. If they're lucky, they might even observe a bit of a beer belly on her. Standing at 4'11, she was a short menace, weighing 115 pounds, most of those from muscles. Her mark is gold insignia shaped like the sun on the back of her neck, stretching just under her hair line to her upper back.

Attire:

En wears a yellow linen tunic that falls just above the knee, with long sleeves and a deep V-neckline, laced up with leather ties. The tunic is loose-fitting and allows for ease of movement, while also protecting her from the elements. A pair of fitted woolen dark orange trousers, tucked into knee-high leather boots with thick soles and sturdy laces. Over the tunic, she wears a leather jerkin, cinched at the waist with a wide leather belt. The jerkin provides her with extra warmth and protection, as well as pockets for carrying essentials. She also wears a leather satchel for carrying a water flask, a beer flask, a diary, food, and small tools.

For missions she wears a mask that covers her whole face, orange with red circle painted on the cheeks, shaped like the face of a fierce man with thick black unibrows, black sideburns, a goatee and a grin. A warrior's face, she would say. A hooded orange cloak made of thick woolen material with gold lacings is worn over her head and draped over the shoulders for warmth and protection from the rain.

Weaponry:

En wields a straight, double edged blade made of steel, wider at the base and taper towards the tip. The name En is crudely craved into the blade. The hilt of the sword is composed of a crossguard to protect the hand, a grip to hold onto, and a pommel at the end to provide balance. The crossguard would be simple and unadorned, often with a straight or slightly curved shape. The grip is made of horn, wrapped with wire for a better grip. The pommel is rounded and functional, providing a counterbalance to the blade for better control.

Ability:

Her ability is pure and simple: regeneration. A flashy regeneration at that - with bright golden light flashing out of her wounds as they close instantly. So much for discretion. She was not numb to the pain, however, and oftentimes a large wound would close strangely, giving her a horrid disfigured look. That is, until she receives a fatal wound to the heart or the brain or a large chunk of her body is severed, during which her regeneration would overdrive and revert her body to the state when she received this ability. The 'resurrection' takes three days in which she is rendered immobile from the pain as her body contorts back into shape. She is not immune to mind-altering substances and would still get drunk or get affected by halucinogens.

Personality:

A chronic alcoholic, she carries beer on her person at almost all times. She gets cranky when her daily intake of alcohol is insufficient. Uncouth. She is easily swayed by the idea of 'justice', with a broken moral compass. She has her own values, but they tend to be odd and sometimes contradictory. Susceptible to peer pressure - that is, if the peer pressure is glaring at her face, maybe even pelting her with rotten fruits, because she is blind to more subtle social clues and is practically shameless. She loves to fight and does not exactly care if she maimed someone for life or even cause someone's death. Brutally - if not cluelessly -honest. Her response to anger is by fighting but she will quickly get over it as well. Strike first, think later. Curiously, she will also throw the most obnoxious barrage of questions at people. Terrible, but brazen flirt. She carries a diary with her at all times and writes in it every day.

Despite all these, she is a romantic at heart, loving sappy ballads and fairy tales. She dreams of a normal life with a cute husband and a group of friends who is like a family to her.

Likes:
-
Beer, but she'll be happy with any alcoholic beverage / food
- Handsome men
- Strong looking people who will "play fight" with her
- Battles
- "Justice"
- Rowdy parties
- Her horse, whom she talk to all the time
- Hearty food

Dislikes:
- Being prim and proper
- Not being drunk
- Anyone touching her diary
- Whatever she deems unfairness at the moment
- Prolonged conversations that would require her to think

Strengths:
- Combat, either hand-to-hand or swordfight
- Fearlessness
- Loyalty
- Tries to do what's right

Weaknesses:
- Blind to subtle social cues
- Drunkard
- Cannot strategize
- Forgetful

Backstory:

The oldest of seven siblings, her poor backwater family casted her out as soon as her ability manifested. Not that she misses them too much as both her parents were abusive alcoholics. She had learned to bring money home from a young age through various odd jobs, somehow being both the breadwinner and the black sheep of the family. An alcoholic almost her whole life, she cannot even remember the first time she started drinking. In her childhood she started with normal small jobs such as tending to the horses or delivering letters. As she grew older, however, she found herself more money and fulfillment as a bounty hunter. She already built a reputation for herself and had stable income as one, until the ability manifested in her and she had to go in hiding. She was abandoned by her friends, her family, and most of her clients. She did, however, found herself a new batch of clients who are willing to risk their lives for a job well-done. She struggled to recite the pledge when she got into The Wolves Society, however she meant what she said and was determined to do her best here.
