Name

Apricity, meaning the warmth of the sun in winter

Nicknames

Winter, Apri, Sunny

Sex

Male

Age

4.5

Role

Alpha

Pack

Hiver Pack

Breed

Mackenzie River Valley Wolf

Appearance

creds to FurLined on DA

Apricity is slightly larger than the average male. He has a strong, muscular build due to his long treks and hunting trips. His eyes are a lively amber color. He holds himself high, and he always puts a bit of power into his steps. During the winter, he gets a thick coat, but in the summer it mostly thins out. Many scars litter his body, mostly because he has fought quite a few times.

Personality

Apricity is a calm wolf, even in fearful situations. He is patient and mindful, seeming to never lose his temper. The male is merciful and usually believes in second chances, depending on what had been done. He is reliable and a listener, making him the perfect canine to rant to. He can be a little clueless or forgetful sometimes, but he does try to remember everything that he has learned. Apricity always puts others first, but he does make sure to tend to his own needs as well. He is easy-going and simple, usually presenting no difficulty to others. The male is cautious and is wary of strangers at first, but it doesn't take long for him to warm up to anyone, unless they have done something horribly wrong to him or anyone else. Apricity is a very compassionate and sympathetic canine, always trying to cheer others up or offer them support. He was chosen to be alpha by his parents because of his calm demeanor, which he usually keeps. Though, when he is awfully upset, Apricity will snap and become very aggressive.

Name

Accalia, she-wolf in Latin

Nickname(s)

Lia

Sex

Female

Age

2, almost 3

Role

Omega

Pack

Vix Pack

Breed

Northwestern Wolf/Rocky Mountain Wolf

Appearance

Accalia is small, just below average height. Her build is sleek and thin, making her the perfect candidate for surprises. Her fluffy pelt hides her thin frame, but it adds to her charm. In the winter months, her pelt is fluffier than normal, so thick and dense with fur. Accalia has no scars except for a small mark near her nose; an embarrassing incident with a sharp rock near the pond at the heart of their territory.

Personality

Accalia is shy and quiet, she likes to observe. She watches body language and how others hold themselves. Being the youngest adult of her pack has its perks, she spends most of her time watching over the pups of the pack, as their mothers are often out on hunts and patrols around the perimeter of the pack territory. The she-wolf is careful around new-comers, never growling or biting, but a glare can be prominent. Accalia wouldn’t consider herself aggressive but she can be violent when she needs to be. Her only flaw is she acts before she thinks; she lets her heart influence her decisions rather than her mind.

Scent

A mix of fresh mint and lavender

Likes

The rain, nightfall, polite wolves

Dislikes

Egotistical wolves, overly hot summers, rude and inconsiderate wolves

The sound of gentle padding filled the air, followed by the beautiful songs of the birds high up in the evergreens. A figure could be seen moving amongst them, trotting along at a steady pace. As the evergreen trees grew thinner, they opened up into a field of wildflowers. Red, purple, blue, yellow, and various other colours dotted the landscape, creating quite a pretty sight. Apricity paused in the spot where the trees met the flowers and lifted his head towards the sky, taking a moment to inhale deeply. Autumn would be here soon. He glanced across the field to where there were more trees, but these ones weren't evergreens. Most were oak, some were other types. He eyed the green leaves, knowing they would soon turn into beautiful crimson and yellow shades. A small smile crossed his face. He liked the summer, but he loved the fall. The only thing bad about autumn was the nagging feeling of winter being right around the corner. Apricity lowered his head and padded into the field, headed directly for the center. There was a spot where the flowers were smashed into the earth, the spot where he always layed and stared up at the sky.

Though he had many responsibilities, Apricity always made time to come to this spot. Why? Well, there were many reasons. Mostly he just liked the peace, as sometimes being an alpha was overwhelming. He sat back on his haunches and stared all around him, listening to the gentle buzzing of the bees next to him. The wind gently rustled the leaves on the trees, and the birds continued to sing their silly songs. He often wondered why they sung. Do they sing to each other? Do they sing for the fun of it? If only he could talk to the birds, then his lifelong question would finally be answered. The breeze ruffled his fur, and he closed his eyes for a minute, taking in the feeling of it. The sun was warm on his body, it felt rather nice. Apricity let out a quiet sigh as he opened his eyes, the feeling of euphoria lingering in his mind. Again he glanced around, as if he was searching for something, or someone. Perhaps he was.

Apricity gently licked the fur on his chest and curled his tail around his paws. He dipped his head down and smelled one of the flowers that wasn't smashed, taking in the scent. It was a lovely smell, and it reminded him of his mother. She always had such a nice smell, but he wasn't sure why. Maybe she went and rolled in the flowers like him? He lifted his head again and pawed the ground, digging his claws deep into the dirt. So many thoughts filled his head, but none were important. He focused on none in particular, and just let them drift through his mind.

Accalia let her small paws carry herself throughout the forest, her nose rising every now and then to sniff the cool air. She knew fall was to start soon, meaning her already thick white and gray coat would become more dense. It’s not something she enjoyed but it’ll have to do until the winter months fall. Her brown eyes traveled to the different trees, many of them pleasantly green, but a few and far between were already beginning to change.

As her paws began to slow, her pace came to a gentle walk, her heavy pelt shaking with every step. Her ears flickered at the sounds of birds chirping and singing, before noting that she had made it to the clearing. Accalia kept low, hiding behind a blackberry bush before popping her head over the top, being careful of the thorns that lined the long vines and branches. It was her favorite spot within the entire lands. It’s somewhere her grandmother once showed her. Being the runt, it made other pups worry when she was younger. But her grandmother never lost faith; never let her “delicate Lia” out of her sights.

To her, this clearing was special - for many reasons. But that was only one. It was peaceful and quiet, it allowed her to get away from the chaos that was the Vix Pack. Accalia made her way into the sunlit clearing, her eyes closing in delight and comfort, her tail swinging back and forth, her ears perked and alert. She loved it here. A figure caught her eye; she slowly sank to the ground, her belly resting mere centimeters over the earth. Her paws were kept quiet and light, her tail held high.

Mischief, perhaps? Should she be cautious? Should she be playful? The ideas were endless. Instead, she settled onto the dirt, being careful not to squish the precious wildflowers. They truly were beautiful. Accalia held her head high, enough to make her presence known, her tail gently tapped against the ground, her front paws crossing over one another. Her nose twitched with delight, so many smells filled her senses!

Her gaze turned to the wolf sat in the clearing. A playful thought filled her head, she rose, keeping low. She crept around near the trees, lowly cursing to herself when she stepped on several twigs at once. She winced, her left ear pinning flat to her head.

Apricity rolled onto his back, taking a second to admire the shapes of the clouds. It was a beautiful day, so he wanted to take full advantage of it before he had to return to his pack. He began to wag his tail as the sun warmed his cream coloured belly. He never wanted this moment to end. His amber eyes slowly closed as he continued to lay on his back. Perhaps he could just... doze off here for a bit. No, what if he was asleep for hours? Slowly, the male sat back up and huffed, flicking a blade of grass off his ear. Apricity looked around and a look of uncertainty crossed his features. Was someone there? He couldn't shake the odd feeling of eyes on him. He took another glance around and perked his ears, listening for a sign that someone was watching him. He sat for a minute, growing more nervous as each second passed. Maybe he was just feeling things.

Just as he was about to get up to leave, he heard it. The sound of multiple twigs snapping. He swung his head toward the direction he heard the sound in, intense gaze searching the tree line. The fur on his hindquarters rose up a smidge, but he ignored it and kept searching. He rose to his paws and took a hesitant step forwards. "Floris?" Apricity called out, hoping for a response. Floris was the name of his closest friend. They met as pups and have never left each other's side since. She often liked to prank him, by either sneaking up on him or having one of her pups do it. He took two more steps towards where he heard the twigs snap, and there he saw it. A small gray and white she-wolf, over near the trees. That certainly wasn't Floris. It was obviously a wolf from the Vix Pack, as none of his pack members had ever gone in those trees. This was where the territory borders met, but none of his wolves knew where it was.

"Hello?" His voice rang out again, hoping for a response. Apricity sat down, soft amber eyes focused on the other wolf. It took him awhile to be able to spot her, so he feared that if he looked away for even a second, she would disappear into the trees. She very well could, seeing as that was her side of the border.

Accalia winced, before stepping out into the light, her head low to the ground, her ears pinned to the back of her head. Her paws lightly hit the ground, making little to no noise. She huffed before raising her head to meet his eyes once they were less than a few feet away from each other.”Hello there..” Accalia said in a hushed tone, her brown eyes darting to the treeline to watch for peering eyes.

She sat back on her haunches, her fluffy tail curling over her paws. Her own left paw began to tap against the earth, her claws gently scraping against the dirt and patches of grass, but being mindful of the wildflowers. Accalia lightly shook her pelt, her right ear flicking at the sound of the wind. Her brown iris bore into his before a wolfish grin appeared on her face.”Long time no see.” She whispered, her tail swinging from side to side.

She prayed no one showed up, pack members had a tendency to follow her every move - since she was technically the “youngest”, which gets more and more irritating as the months go by. Accalia’s head whipped around to the treeline, watching with an intense gaze. Maybe you could call her paranoid - however she’d argue she was just being cautious. She didn’t know what she was looking for, maybe hoping her brother, Haint, didn’t stumble onto this area of the territory - he did lead the scouts that watched over the territory - but from what Accalia knew, the scouts never went this far.

“Enjoying yourself?” She questioned with a tilted head, her gray ears perked to the top of her head. Her body began to relax, slowly lowering herself to lay on the ground, rolling onto her back, paws high in the air as she stretched her limbs. A blissful look appeared on her features, Accalia seemed at peace, relaxed. Maybe it was the warm sun, maybe it was the company.

Apricity watched as the wolf approached him until they were much closer. He studied her for a second before he suddenly realized who it was. He broke out into a smile and closed to the gap between them, giving her jaw a few quick licks before he backed up again. "I was wondering when I would see you again." His tone was rather cheerful sounding. He watched as she looked back towards the treeline, holding the same gaze he did just moments ago. He knew why, she most likely thought she had been followed. It was sad that they had to meet this way, but alas, they were from different packs. Apricity knew it was wrong to be meeting with a wolf from the Vix Pack, though he just couldn't help himself. It's like she had some sort of hold on him, and even if he didn't feel this way it's not like he wouldn't stop meeting her. All the wolves in his pack were just suck-ups, and he couldn't stand it. He enjoyed being around someone who didn't bow down to him every time they spoke with him. He never knew why they insisted on doing so, but he hated it.

Apricity was jerked from his thoughts when he heard the sound of her voice again. "Of course. Always nice to get away from the drama for once, yeah?" He watched as Accalia rolled over onto her back, noticing how her expression changed. He plopped down next to her, adjusting his position so that he was on his side. His gaze followed a large bird in the sky, it seemed as if it were nothing more than a shadow in the blue sky. He loved to watch the birds fly sometimes, it was amazing watching them use their wings to glide. Oh how he wished he had wings sometimes, he often pondered what it was like to fly. He desperately wanted to know what the rush of wind would feel like in his fur. Apricity knew he needed to return to his pack soon, but he didn't want to. He quite enjoyed spending time with the dame, even if it was wrong. She provided good company, it was nice to just flop down and lay with her in the flower field.

He rose to his paws for a second and approached one of the dark red flowers, and he lowered his head to grab it in his mouth. Apricity then dropped it on her belly and sat back down, a little grin on his features.

“Always nice to get away, especially from my brother.”Accalia giggled, her brown eyes rolling, her tail swinging back and forth rapidly. This was what she looked forward to, seeing him. It hurt that the two canines had to sneak around their packs, but alas, being from different packs made it difficult to see each.

She smiled at the soft feeling of a flower being placed on her stomach before a mischievous grin graced her features and she kicked her paws out, trying her hardest to get him off his paws. Accalia rolled over onto her stomach, stood on her paws, and stalked around for a bit, a smirk painting her wolf lips. “Try me.” She challenged, her frame resting low in a ‘play bow’ position, her front two paws tapping against the earth. It was these moments she cherished, away from her pack, away from Haint, away from everything - just to spend a few moments with him, and it all made sense.

The sneaking around, the secrecy, Accalia reasoned that it was all worth it. Sneaking around behind her pack’s back was worth a few minutes of happiness, a sense of relief can be lifted from her shoulders; all thanks to him. To her, the masucline wolf was comfort, her safe space, her paradise. She wished they lived in a world where they never had to sneak around like this. Accalia released a happy woof, feeling light on her paws.”Are you too scared, Alpha?” She said in a teasing tone, the smirk on her features began to widen, her tail curling upwards in confidence.

She pounced forward every now and then, not trying to be aggressive or intimidated, just wanting to play and let loose; she mostly wanted him to play and let loose. Accalia could never imagine what it was like to be alpha, a role she deemed she would never have the pleasure of having - and for that she was grateful. She didn’t want the burden of responsibility, she didn’t want every wolf in the pack relying on her every move and decision, she could never make the hard choices alphas have to make.

Being alpha scared Accalia to no end, and she could never figure out why. Was it really the responsibility? Was it really the burden of everyone’s judgment? Was it the eyes watching her every move for a small mistake? She would never be able to tell you.

Apricity watched as she kicked out and then stood up, and he started to chuckle. He curiously watched her every move, a soft smile still on his features. As she lowered herself into a play bow, he tilted his head. He couldn't remember the last time he had played with someone. Perhaps it was as a young pup? All throughout his life, he had many responsibilities, so he never had the chance to be a pup. He always knew he was going to be alpha, so his parents spent time giving him lessons and whatnot. He wasn't sure why, it's not like they'd affect his personality or how he would lead. His parents passed from old age when he was only a year old, so he'd been the only alpha since then. Sometimes he considered finding a mate to make his job easier, but then he met Accalia. He often wondered what she'd say if he asked her to join him, even if it wasn't possible. Finally, he looked back at her and grinned. "Oh, I will." Apricity lowered himself down and stalked around her, careful not to crush any wildflowers that were still standing in the spot they were in.

"Scared? That's quite an understatement." He joked, backing off and tucking his tail for a second. As she pounced forwards he'd back up to be sure she didn't actually pounce and not bluff. He continued to circle her, taking a good moment to consider his next move. Apricity finally decided on what he would and waited for the perfect moment, wondering if she could predict it or not. Maybe she could, it wouldn't be a hard thing to guess. He carefully eyed her, tilting his head as he stopped circling. He noticed how her already thick pelt was beginning to grow even thicker, signaling it would begin to get colder soon. His winter coat didn't come in until close to the end of autumn, so he often got cold on particularly chilly days. His pack had varying breeds of wolves, but they were mostly grey wolves. Some of them were small, some were overly large. Some had thick fur, some had fur thinner than his. It was kind of funny how they all looked so different, actually.

None of them were exactly alike colour wise either, like were all different shades. Apricity focused back on her and waited a second before he lowered himself to the ground, tensing his body. He suddenly lunged forwards, hoping that he had crashed into her before she had the time to move out of his path.
