Yellowstone

Keeping a brand new pack afloat is no easy thing- there's never enough wolves to take down a good meal and protecting pups from rivals is arduous. The Mammoth Creek pack was formed by a mating pair a year ago in the far Northwest of the park. They managed to raise a few pups to yearlings and now have a new litter that's almost a month old. The pack is lucky that there isn't much in the way of threats to their pups; not even coyotes tend to stray into this area. Only trouble is faced from the nearby wolf packs, particularly 8 Mile and black bears, which of course are nowhere near as hard to fight off as the grizzly.

1. Your character needs to be realistic in most aspects. If you cannot find an image of a real wolf with the coat you want to use, then you can't use it. Wolves would not be capable of sign language, writing in dirt or building elaborate structures. They're wolves. That said, please try to make your wolf as animalistic as possible. Of course, this is a roleplay so realism doesn't need to be stuck to that well, but these are animals and I'd prefer them represented more animalistic than anthropomorphized. However LGBTQIA+ wolves are welcomed and encouraged.
2. Generally, don't make your character cringy.
3. Tied into the above rule, no mary-sue type characters. Your character will have faults.
4. Make things fair and equal, try keep the ratio of sexes, roles, etc as even as possible.
5. Wolves die from old age at 10 years old.
6. Maximum of 10 adult wolves within each pack, with each roleplayer being allowed 1 character.
7. Don't fight over roles, please.
8. Dispersals are locked until the yearlings are 2.
9. This roleplay is semi-literate to literate, you are required to write a minimum of two paragraphs per post, and are absolutely expected to write more. One sentence replies will not be accepted. If you cannot meet this standard, don't sign up; or take a break from the rp until you can.
10. Your character must fit it's region as close as you can. Please don't sign up to the roleplay with a wolf species that cannot be in Yellowstone (eg. it must be a Canadian timber wolf.) Please try to use reference images of Canadian timber wolves and/or wolves from Yellowstone.
11. I WILL NOT RESERVE ROLES. Even if you are 99% done with your form, someone can still take that role from you if they finish one before you. You aren't guaranteed to have a role until I have accepted your fully made form. Thems the breaks.
12. You may only use an image of a real wolf in your sign-up if it is fully and properly credited (and a Canadian timber wolf.)
13. Please read the guides I provide to help create a more accurate wolf. A lot of the guides' content pertains to actually roleplaying, however if you plan to write about how your wolf acts socially please refer to my guides to know how your wolf SHOULD act. I'm not against some straying from the norm, but please recognize a pack would quickly fail if every wolf was unsocial and outcasted.
14. Please note that pups have a brown puppy coat until they near a year old. You may add their adult colours to the form, but until they grow up they will be brown.

In terms of prey, Mammoth Creek wolves mainly hunt pronghorn, considering the average wolf's main prey of elk not being in this area outside of Autumn. A variety of small critter species are available to the Mammoth Creek wolves, however they do not make a good, filling meal. There are seasonal variances in the prey these wolves can hunt, however they need to remain wary if straying into other pack's territories.

Haru is an awkward looking wolf, with his legs being unproportionally long and lanky, his strides often looking wonky. It is clear he has not finished growing into his body yet; however, he will grow to be a tall-lean wolf. Haru currently stands 31 inches at the shoulder- yes that extra inch counts- towering over most his age. Haru makes up for height differences by carrying a slouched, playful posture to remain eye level with his friends. Being the more scrawny type, his weight is a mere 85 pounds.

His base coat is mostly light tan-cream, his underside being a lighter cream color, nearly white, giving his fur a very light toffee look. Haru has light grey markings along the top-most part of his back and tail which blend into the creamy colors, much like his mother's fur, along with his tail tip, and the top of his head and ears being distinctly lined with grey colors. His fur is currently short against his body, filling out slightly along his cheeks, tail, and rump, and is quite straggly looking as of right now as winter has come to an end, not to mention the fact that Haru is quite uncaring about his appearance- this shows true as he is covered in dirt and various land debris majority of the time. Haru's eyes currently have a bit of the youthful blue to them, though it is clear his eyes will reflect his mother's golden-brown eyes as he ages.

Haru is currently free of any scars as he has not been engaged with many hunts, much less fights; but, due to his clumsy nature, his future seems full of them. He does have some unique markings, however, his skin being a dark brown color unlike most, his nose being speckled slightly with black. His face and some parts of his body are covered in light grey speckles of fur, mainly around his cheeks, nose, shoulders, and hips. He has a distinct grey patch of fur on his chest as well. His nose is lined with the same tan-cream color that matches the rest of his body, as his cheeks are a nearly white cream color, mimicking the colors of his body. Haru also has a dark tan-grey colored front left paw, his "lucky foot" as he calls it.

It is hard to tell if Haru is brave, or just stupid. He is always first to stand up for what he believes in, and for those around him, even if it means staring into the eyes of death himself. Haru is not very strong, nor methodical as of right now, but that doesn’t stop him. This drive to never back down has gotten him this far, or perhaps it was purely luck. Haru is the type to stray away from the pack on his own 'adventures', possibly finding himself in trouble. He is not the catious type at all, and is in fact very bold.

Haru is extremely outgoing, energetic, and possibly too kind. He doesn’t care to show his dominance toward others, often leaving him at the bottom, not that he minds being there- or perhaps he doesn't even notice. Haru will always try to strike up a conversation, even if the subject being forced to listen is obviously very annoyed by him. This leaves Haru naively thinking everyone is his friend.

He is also very emotional, perhaps he will grow out of it, and those around him likely pray to the gods that he does. Haru often cries about any minor inconvenience, such as losing his favorite rock. He grows oddly attached to random things, and often has stashes of various objects hidden in the territory.

Despite being hyperactive, playful, and carefree, Haru does care a lot about being a strong wolf for his pack. He focuses a lot of his energy, and his 'adventures', on training to be a better protector and hunter. Although he is far from the best, this does not stop Haru from trying day and night.

Context: Harou is a Warrior cat OC who started from a kitten mill, but was taken away due to an eye infection that made him lose his eye. This was harou’s backstory before he found his clan

Ehciks coat colors are mostly made up of his mothers, just darker. With a cream undertone and dark grey back that blend out into a sandy orange/reddish color, he's still somewhat sporting his younger puppy colors. Later on in life as the seasons change and he gets older, the cream on his legs and underbelly take over, leaving the tinge of orange but lightening the darker parts of his coat, the dark grey on his tail and back almost dissolving. He'll be left with a darkish grey patch on the tip of his tail with a similar colored stripe dragging its way up to the base.

While his mothers face has an orangey stripe that goes up her muzzle and disperses into lighter shades of that color, Ehciks stripe begins the same but blends into dark grey as it goes further up his face, the fur surrounding it peppering his fur with a mix of that grey and orange. This accentuates his hazel eyes, the black lines around them bringing them out even more. His face and eyes are still visibly young but eager as he admires his parents hunts and how they confidently navigate the pack.

His current build also give away his youth. He's not very big for a male wolf, standing at 29 inches at the shoulder and weighing 80lbs. Since he's still growing into his adult form (later to stand at about 30-31 inches and gaining a few more pounds), Ehcik has thinner legs to match, carrying him swiftly through the forest. His smaller frame will later be accounted for in leaner muscle as he gets older and stronger. Although his agility is a great help in quickly catching up with prey and can snap in a quick nip or two in conflict, his endurance is easier to wear out, especially with healthier, quicker prey/rivals.

For now, he can easily keep up with his siblings as they play-hunt through the bushes in their freetime and keep up with the younger pups' antics . Wether he chooses to or not is a completely different story.

Personality:

Ehcik's demeanor reflects his youth and upbringing within the pack. While he possesses the physical advantages of speed and agility, he's yet to fully master them, often stumbling in his attempts to evade or be part of conflict. He is cautious by nature, preferring to assess situations before acting, a trait learned from observing his parents' interactions within the pack as well as past experiences.
