| Upstart I wanted to stop being made fun of for my teeth, but I'm kinda glad my mom denied the surgery. I wouldn't have been able to eat properly for 6 weeks and that sounds like hell. I've embraced my teeth since then and no longer get made fun of so it's not too bad |

| Cae I'm glad I'm not alone Upstep My orthodontists wanted to surgically break my jaw to fix my teeth and my mom said no, and so I was in braces for 6 years instead. Mu overbite is back, my teeth bite into my lips constantly but insurance wont cover braces again |

| @Bugfood That really sucks!! I had something similar where I shouldÂ’ve gotten stuff done to my teeth sooner, because they were getting worse over time. |

| @Upstep To my memory they did as soon as they were able whenever it happened. But they couldn't always do it right away. They eventually gave me this waxy thing that I would have to put on the tip of the wire to make it not make deep and bad holes in my cheeks. |

| My teeth have just about moved back because I couldn't wear my retainer. My wisdom teeth came in during covid and my retainer stopped fitting but it took a while to get an appointment so all the money on braces went down the drain :/ |

| @Bugfood I have a little bag of them. And some are cut so they look more like a tube than a circle, and I wonder if that would have an uneven effect 🤔. @Coy Oh my goodness 😱 I hope they fixed that up for you right away!! |

| The wires also often came/slid fully out of the last couple braces quite often and I would get holes in my cheeks from that :/ I'm sure braces have improved greatly since I had them though |

| @Bugfood It was just a small invisalign rubber band. I had been playing with it from time to time. It stayed in place, but I noticed there was one line instead of two. |

| @Upstep.. oof. Back when I was in middle school and had braces I used to have my dental rubber bands on the braces break a lot |
