If you wanted a fancy title... make your own. Titles are hard.

---

Co-Host: Lackadaisy (Stray)

In the early days, just after the fall of the Graeco-Egyptian period, a prophecy was given. It read as such;

On the day when winter's solstice gives way to summer's breath, an ancient fury will rise again. The earth and heavens will fall.

All is not lost, gather the best of human and deity together. One of Apollo's grace, Bastet's Claws, Gengen Wer's Guardian, Sekhmet's Pride, [insert a little thing about each character]. Send them forth to bring Fury's Demise.

Beware the fallen king. His crowned dream must shatter. For Fury to fall, to regain peace for all, the best must come together and become one.

Not many listened to this prophecy. After all, they really didn't understand it. The only real lasting impact from the Graeco-Egyptian reign was the mockery of Ptolemy and his attempt at making a new nation. Serapis, his patron god, fell as the other gods rose up against him.

Skip ahead a few thousand years...

1972. Life is bouncing, it's vibing, things are finally looking up. Until December 21st. The winter solstice. It was like a switch had flipped. The snow had melted, the chill of winter was gone. It was as if winter had just given up and now it was mid-summer. Old scholars pieced through the prophecies and came across the one.

They, perhaps rightfully, assumed that it was foretelling the rise of Serapis and his fury. A call was sent out to gather the demigods that best matched the prophecy.

Now, it's their job to save the world.

Notes:

Not rules just a few things to take notice of.

Location-wise, we're still looking. We might be looking at having them all meet up in a location first. This'll be discussed in the discussion.

PG-13 and all the WP rules.

It's also 1972 (or was. It might be 1973 now--) at least some period realism would be lovely. Obviously, it's the gods... so.. yeah.

Realistically, I'm not really doing reservations ... there's no roles or whatnot to reserve. Just put your character sheet in, throw a comment when you're done or just finish it in one go. Whichever.

Rules:
1. One character per person right now.

2. We're going to put this at around 200+ words. (This is to accommodate me and my struggles lol)

3. Your character sheet doesn't have to be wildly fantastic but give us a good feel for your character.

4. Speaking of characters, make sure they're not too over-powered.

5. Any pantheon. Go wild y'all.

6. Make sure to add the little thing that represents your character that we can put in the prophecy

Pack Number: 85543

Name: Azrael (listen, he might get a last name. Greeks/Egyptians didn't believe in last names)
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Godly Parent: Notus (a four winged god of the southern wind)
Pantheon: Greek

Appearance:
He stands... well, he's about 6' even. This particular young man has dark hair, very dark brown. It's constantly messy, cut loosely and has the faintest tinge of a curl on the ends. His skin is warm colored, very warm undertones with a sort of smooth tan to it. It's genetics. He isn't quite as pale as most Greek descendants. His mortal heritage is a mess, honestly. A mixture of Greek and Egyptian. But it brought itself together to create Azrael. The mess of a man.

His shoulders are broad and well set. This sturdy young man has a rather firm build. He isn't quiet and he has a tendency to flare for the dramatics with his movements.

But his eyes. The golden eyes jump out from his face, from behind dark ashen feathers that crowd around his face and his entire being like a semi-permanent shadow. While his clothing tends to be fairly monochromatic... it's the fact that he has not two, not four, not even six but eight wings. Six that adorn his back and two that occasionally cover his face when he desires.

Oh he knows he has them. He can hide them and have just two, just four or however many he wants at that current moment. That comes from his blood as well.

(C)85543

Personality:
Azrael is cunning. He just is. He's quick and witty but always thinking ahead. It's a fatal flaw to always be thinking, always be planning and prepared. Always thinking ahead and always planning on how to help his house be the best. By whatever means possible. He can heal with his words--technically even a little bit himself, but he prefers to fight.

He prefers to make things far more "interesting" than they really should be. After all, Azrael is everything. He is confident, he is witty, he is smart, he is always thinking ahead. Everything points to him being cunning and confident in the way he moves. His smile, his grin, the way he holds himself with all the confidence in the world, the way he laughs, seems to just blend in wherever he goes... if he chooses. If he chooses, he'll stand out. If he wants? He'll throw a dark and dangerously flirty grin. He'll twist your heart. Or, he'll ignore everything you do. Whatever he chooses to do.

Don't ask specific questions about his past. He will throw hands without any question. No one quite knows it. Either way, Azrael is a bully, he just is. Mosty with his words. But it is far more behind the scenes than one would originally think. Under the masks, Azrael isn't sure who or what to be. Sure, everyone else already knows. But when one can simply hide under a mask that everyone likes? How can he be sure if it's really him?

Azrael won't admit it, he will lash out when someone tries to see what is under the mask. His words are a knife to the soul. Poised, sharp and always at the ready.

After all, it's not him who's a problem. He's got plans, he's just doing his thing--that's what everyone says to do. just do your thing. Well, he is. An object in motion, stays in motion. Azrael's plans stay in motion, no matter what. He gets what he wants and if he doesn't, well, he just changes his plans and gets them anyways. While he does his best to remain a "hero" of sorts, he isn't above twisting things to get rid of others.

Only when the mask comes off does everything stop. Azrael just can't function when the mask isn't there. When all is said and done, when the masks and faces fall, he's done. He can't function, can't think, can't even really work. So he lashes out, he will attack viciously when someone tries to pry the mask off. It's his last defense, his only flaw. He refuses to admit that he doesn't know who he is. He knows how to be things but... be himself? No. He doesn't exist outside of the masks.

So you'd better stay at arms length, don't be a dork and he'll get along well with you. In theory.

Other:
His background (in a loose summary)
Azrael is well acquainted with the god in question that's trying to rise again. (Thus the reason he's here). He was supposed to be a god in the pantheon that Serapis was trying to create. That didn't happen because the gods squashed it. Serapis attempted to use his power to freeze his pantheon.

Azrael included. Skip forward to about 1940 or so, Azrael gets out of the freeze and realizes he doesn't age. He's not immortal (he can still very much be killed) but he... isn't aging.

It's taken a long time to get used to the modern world. He gave up following fashion and looks like he came out of the 50s.

His mortal parent was a demigod of Proteus, who could shapeshift. Thus the reason he's got as many wings as he does... and the fact he can hide them.

Azrael isn't technically part of the prophecy but because of his closeness to the god before... he gets brought along.

Pack Number: 312886
Name: Aelin
Age: 22
Gender: Female, uses she/they pronouns
°
Godly Parent: Bastet (Egyptian goddess of protection and cats)
Pantheon: Egyptian
°
Prophecy Piece: One of the chosen will bear the bond of Bastet, with the silent strength of the feline, guiding the way with wisdom and protection.
°
Appearance: Aelin has dark chocolate hair that falls in soft waves around her shoulders, complementing her pale yet warm skin tone. Her eyes are a striking auburn, often giving off a gentle glow in the dim light, reflecting her connection to her godly parent, Bastet. Standing at 5'3", Aelin's build is delicate, yet she carries herself with an understated grace. Her features are mostly human, but there are subtle hints of her divine lineage—slightly slitted pupils that give her a cat-like gaze, which she tries to hide when around others.
Though her claws aren’t retractable, Aelin has small, feline-like claws instead of regular nails. At first glance, they might be mistaken for normal human nails, but upon closer inspection, they reveal themselves to be a bit sharper and more defined. Despite her ethereal traits, she manages to blend into society fairly easily, preferring to keep her more mystical side under wraps. Aelin’s appearance reflects her quiet, almost mystical nature, with just enough animalistic influence to hint at her godly parentage.
°
Personality: Aelin is naturally quiet and reserved, often giving off the impression that she’s shy or distant. She tends to avoid large crowds and unnecessary drama, which has led her to cultivate a small, close-knit circle of people she truly cares about. Once someone earns her trust, Aelin opens up, revealing a more bubbly side, though she still struggles with fully expressing herself. Her thoughts tend to drift, and she often zones out, leaving her unsure of how to verbalize her emotions or thoughts. Despite this, she’s fiercely loyal to those she calls her family, even if her interactions are often brief and simple.
Aelin’s reserved nature doesn’t mean she lacks warmth. In fact, her protectiveness is one of her strongest traits. While she doesn’t seek out connections, those she grows close to become an essential part of her life. Her bond with animals is particularly strong; she has a major soft spot for all creatures and is easily captivated by any animal she meets. Aelin’s love for animals is pure and unshakable, often leading her to be the first one to care for any stray or injured creature she comes across. This gentleness and empathy balance out her more solitary tendencies, allowing her to connect with others in her own unique way.
°
Other Stuff: Aelin was born and raised as an only child, which allowed her to develop a deep sense of independence and self-reliance. She had two close friends during her childhood, but even with them, she was naturally reserved, preferring quiet activities over social gatherings. Her parents, understanding her temperament, chose to homeschool her for most of her school years, allowing her to grow at her own pace and avoid unnecessary pressures. This led her to avoid drama and the typical social chaos that often accompanies school life.
As Aelin finished her schooling, her small circle of friends drifted apart, and she found herself content with her life as it was. She doesn’t feel the need for a large group of friends, finding fulfillment in the solitude of nature or the quiet companionship of animals. She’s never dealt with much trauma in her life and considers herself fortunate for that. Her experiences have shaped her into someone who values peace and stability, seeking out only those who bring positivity into her life. Aelin’s past has helped her form a strong, unwavering sense of loyalty to the few people she allows into her world, and she’s content with the simple life she leads.
°
I will probably add an image later haha

Complete

Pack Number: 312640

Name: Pendugo

Age: 24

Gender: M

Godly Parent: Gengen Wer (literally translating, "The Great Honker")

Pantheon: Egyptian

Prophecy thing: Gengen Wer guarded the celestial egg containing the life force at the dawn of creation. His descendant shall do the same at the end of time.

Ancestry: From his ancestry of Egyptians, it's... become a mess, and now has somehow ended up in South America. If you needed to be precise enough to put a pin to a map: Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Really, that's a bit of a distance.

Appearance: Pendugo stands at a respectable 181cm (fight me Americans) with rather light brown hair. Slightly darker skin, and usually if you see him on the street he'd be walking like he doesn't really care, usually with his goose by his side.
The thing is, he does care. Quite a lot. You don't see him protectively hunching his shoulders physically, but he's definitely doing it in his head.
"Protect, respect life and honour the earth" were three things that his god ancestor followed, and it's physically shown itself in Pendugo. While he hasn't gone and made a cult, if you see him on the street there's the sense of "I'm not to be messed with." Not in terrms of physical strength and bulk to make the statement of "it would be stupid to even try" but more of the fact the he has a feeling of capableness. Of instinctively doing what was instructed of him.
If you see him, he'll often have his goose with him. Either following him on foot (more like waddling, but he doesn't really care), being carried, or sitting on his head. It's a bit odd, but it's another characteristic that has been imparted to him from his ancient ancestors: goose. Not geese, but just goose.

Personality: Pendugo can be a bit overwhelming at first interaction. A bit too overprotective, a bit too interested... that kind of thing. Really, he's just scoping you out as whether a potential threat or someone that he needs to label as "need to protect".
Unconsciously, of course. He'd be horrified if he actually knew that was what he was doing.
To those that pass his first unconscious benchmark, Pendugo is quite probably the most overconcerned person you'll ever come across. He genuinely wants to know about stuff that's hurting you and things that concern you.

That doesn't really garner him much attention, really.

He's willing to stand up for anyone, even those he barely knows - because it's in his nature to do exactly that. He can't just... not. it's just not a thing.

That might be chivalrious and all, but then in forms of most other things, besides protecting basically everyone and attempting to keep the peace for way more people than he has the capacity to, people either like Pendugo or don't. People don't like that he's protecting someone else that sometimes doesn't even need it, or that he's being far too nosy. On the other hand, there people that respect his ethic.

Beyond being far too overprotective, Pendugo (naturally) has a goose pet. No-one besides him really knows what it's all about, but he carries his goose around everywhere - and by that, literally everywhere. Pendugo isn't ever seen without his goose, unless it's absolutely necessary. It's just not a thing.

The goose isn't very friendly, though. It likes honking at people. Especially the ones that Pendugo instinctively dislikes as a threat. *honk*

Pendugo, understandably, majored in sociology. And he's aiming to become a diplomat. Or at least, was, until this happened.

Aside from all that, Pendugo likes being up to date in terms of knowing what's happening around him - yet again unconsciously labeling things off in his head - and... just being normal. Ish. With good ethic, but being too nosy.

Ability: Pendugo's ability is to think shields into existence. Literal shields, although not the medieval-style ones. And not any ordinary shield either.
Pendugo's protectiveness comes with an extra perk - he's genuinely able to defend, with shields most of the time. If you ever happen to see one, they look like hot air. Unfortunately for his opponents, they're not hot air. Pendugo's "shields" (which don't have any definite form or shape) are pretty much inpenetrable.
He is essentially the goose guarding the egg of the life-force. Which is the downside of this - he can't just throw around shields willy-nilly everywhere. Every single one needs concentration, and it can't be protecting something useless (like a flower pot). Resultantly, while it could possibly cover mutliple people squeezing together (he's never tried), it can't do something like cover a whole building either.
Unsuprisingly, his goose these days gets one when they're out in public spaces. Pendugo values his goose - more than most things really.
Most people don't realize it's there when he puts it up. A slight shimmer in the air is all you'll ever see of it, if you know where it is. Otherwise, all people see is nothing - yet it's solid and inpenetrable. He isn't selling hot air and blue sky in his protectiveness theme, after all.

Other Stuff: Pendugo, obviously, has a goose pet. Not a caged goose, but one that he literally carries or lets follow around. People might think he's crazy, but it's... simply part of him and his ancestry.
He did not even know of this initially. He was just the guy who was more protective of things than most.
Unfortunately, now he's been taskes with - whatever this is - it's gotten significantly more complicated.

Vyeran
318301
Age:
November 23rd, 249 B.C.E.
2221 Years (Physically ~20)
Gender:
Transmasculine
He/Him
Godly Parent:
Son of Apollo (Greek God of Prophecy)
Pantheon:
Greek
Prophecy Thing:
One of "Prophecy's might; brought with four, yet saw with two, a future foretold, but a fate untrue."
Appearance:
Vyeran is a striking and enigmatic figure, blending ethereal beauty with an unconventional sense of style that’s both captivating and unique. His slim, slightly feminine frame is a testament to his transgender identity, reflecting his androgynous charm. Though his immortality grants him an ageless quality, his body remains forever preserved at the peak of youth—a flawless 20-year-old with skin that seems untouched by time or blemish.
-
Vyeran’s hair is one of his most defining features. Naturally a warm strawberry blonde, it has faded into a dirtier blonde shade over the years, giving it a sun-bleached, almost golden sheen. However, he has added his own personal flair by dyeing the tips of his fluffy, mullet-cut hair a deep black. His hair is long enough to reach just past his lower neck, with a layered, feathery texture that exudes effortless elegance. The soft, fluffy waves cascade over his forehead, often covering his four deep brown eyes. These eyes are mesmerizing in their intensity—shadowed most of the time by his bangs, they are rarely fully visible, adding a sense of mystery to his presence. When his hair parts or when he’s upside down, his gaze reveals a deep, otherworldly wisdom that contrasts with his youthful appearance.
-
Behind him extends two pair of magnificent wings, the true hallmark of his angelic form. These wings are large and commanding, with feathers that are pure white at their base but fade into a dirty blonde hue toward the tips, mirroring the tones of his hair. The feathers, while elegant, have a slightly worn quality, as though they’ve borne the weight of countless journeys through time and space. Despite their pristine appearance from afar, up close, they reveal subtle imperfections that hint at his immortality's trials and tribulations.
-
Vyeran’s sense of fashion is daring and unconventional, perfectly suited to his femboy aesthetic. His wardrobe reflects the spirit of the early 1970s, infused with his own flair. He often opts for tight-fitting, sleeveless tops or turtlenecks in neutral tones, paired with high-waisted shorts or slim pants that accentuate his slender figure. His clothing choices are delicate and elegant, with soft fabrics like satin or silk that drape over his form gracefully. Occasionally, he’ll incorporate bold prints or subtle glitter accents, giving his outfits a touch of glam rock flair that was gaining popularity during that era.
-
One staple of his style is his choice of footwear—tall, sleek boots that often reach up to his knees. These boots are always meticulously polished, made of soft leather or patent material, with a slight heel that adds an extra layer of confidence to his stride. They’re practical yet stylish, serving as a statement piece that completes his looks.
-
Accessories are another essential element of Vyeran’s appearance. He favors simple yet elegant adornments: thin silver chains, minimalist rings, or delicate earrings that dangle just below his ears. In colder weather, he might throw on a cropped faux fur jacket or a long flowing coat, further amplifying the androgynous glamor of his style. His makeup, while subtle, accentuates his features. A hint of eyeliner emphasizes his sharp eyes, and occasionally, he’ll add a touch of shimmer to his cheekbones or lips, catching the light in a way that makes him look almost celestial.
-
When it comes to his personality, Vyeran’s appearance reflects his aura of intrigue and quiet confidence. He carries himself with an almost unearthly grace, his every movement deliberate and fluid. Despite his delicate build, he radiates an undeniable strength and resilience, as if the years he’s lived have imbued him with an inner fortitude.
-
Though Vyeran’s appearance is seemingly flawless, it’s the imperfections—the worn tips of his wings, the occasional strand of hair that falls out of place, the slightly smudged eyeliner—that make him feel real and relatable. His style and presence tell a story of self-expression and individuality, a reflection of his journey and identity. Even in the 1970s, he stands out as a figure of unique beauty, challenging norms and embracing his otherworldly allure.
Personality:
Vyeran is a fascinating blend of contradictions, with a personality that is as layered as his immortal existence. At his core, he’s an individual who feels deeply and intensely, but he often masks these vulnerabilities under layers of deflection, bravado, and fiery determination.
-
One of his most prominent traits is his propensity to flush at the slightest provocation. Whether it’s embarrassment, anger, excitement, or even sadness, his emotions quickly paint his cheeks in shades of red. It’s something he can’t control, and it frustrates him to no end, especially when he’s trying to maintain an air of cool indifference or smug confidence. Yet, this trait is a window into the softer, more vulnerable parts of him that he works so hard to conceal.
-
Vyeran is a hopeless romantic at heart, but he’s terrible at admitting it. He craves connection, affection, and the kind of love that feels all-encompassing, yet he’s paralyzed by the thought of what it might mean to let someone in. This inner conflict feeds his deep loneliness, which isn’t immediately obvious to those around him. He hides it well, masking his yearning for companionship with sharp wit, sarcasm, and the occasional mischief. His loneliness manifests in his touch-starved nature, a desperate need for closeness that he tries to satiate in the most roundabout ways. Rather than seeking meaningful physical connection, he’s more likely to poke, prod, or invade someone’s personal space just to get a reaction. When someone offers him genuine intimacy, however, it throws him off guard. He’s quick to push it away, not out of malice but out of fear that it might open him up to rejection or vulnerability. Intimate touch unsettles him, and his first instinct is always to run or lash out.
-
Despite his softer traits, Vyeran is no stranger to anger. He has a temper, but it’s not easily triggered—he reserves his rage for those who he feels truly deserve it. When his anger flares, it’s sharp, unrelenting, and impossible to ignore. He’ll defend himself or others with a fiery passion, willing to go to extreme lengths to prove his point. This willingness to fight isn’t limited to emotional battles either; Vyeran is more than willing to throw hands, even if it means getting hurt in the process. In fact, he seems almost indifferent to physical pain. His immortality has dulled his fear of injury, and he’s come to embrace the aesthetic of a bruised and bloodied appearance. There’s a twisted pride in the way he carries his battle scars, seeing them as proof of his strength and resilience. And, in his mind, he always manages to look effortlessly sexy, even when he’s bleeding.
-
For Vyeran, appearances are everything—but only to himself. He spends a great deal of time curating his image, ensuring every detail of his look is just right. This isn’t about impressing others; it’s about satisfying his own exacting standards. Beneath this meticulous exterior, however, lies a deep well of insecurity. He’s incredibly self-conscious, though he works tirelessly to hide it. His fake confidence is his shield, a layer of bravado that allows him to navigate the world without showing his cracks. If anyone dares to point out his flaws or question his worth, he’s quick to retaliate with sharp words or, if necessary, fists. His defiance is both a defense mechanism and a way of proving to himself that he’s strong, capable, and deserving of respect.
-
Vyeran’s need to prove himself is both endearing and reckless. He’s the type to roll up his sleeves and charge into danger, regardless of the odds, just to prove he can. Whether it’s picking a fight with someone twice his size or metaphorically battling a bear, Vyeran refuses to back down. This fierce determination is a double-edged sword; while it makes him courageous and admirable, it also leads him into situations where he risks getting hurt—physically, emotionally, or both.
-
Underneath his layers of bravado, rage, and deflection, Vyeran is simply a deeply emotional, sensitive individual who desperately wants to be seen, understood, and loved.
Abilities:
Vyeran's powers as a child of Apollo are both a blessing and a curse, a gift of immense potential that carries with it a heavy burden. At the heart of his abilities lies his capacity to see the future, but it is far from a clear and straightforward process. Instead, his visions are chaotic, fragmented glimpses of countless potential timelines, weaving a tapestry of what could be rather than what will be.
-
When Vyeran's power activates, it’s an overwhelming experience. His surroundings seem to fade, replaced by vivid and often disjointed images of possible futures. These glimpses range from mundane moments—like a leaf falling from a tree—to catastrophic events or deeply personal scenes that strike fear or hope into his heart. The sheer number of paths he sees is dizzying, and they often overlap, making it hard to discern which futures are likely and which are impossibilities. Adding to the challenge is the fact that many of the futures he glimpses might never come to pass, leaving him in a constant state of uncertainty about what is real and what is merely a possibility.
-
This uncertainty frustrates Vyeran to no end. He often feels like he’s drowning in an ocean of “what-ifs,” unable to distinguish the important visions from the noise. While his powers are undeniably useful, they are also maddening. At times, they leave him paralyzed with indecision, as every choice he considers seems to branch into infinite new possibilities. This mental strain takes its toll, and after particularly intense visions, Vyeran often feels drained—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
-
Despite their chaotic nature, Vyeran’s visions do have their advantages. Over the years, he’s developed a keen intuition for interpreting what he sees, though it’s far from perfect. He’s learned to spot recurring themes or images in his visions, using them as signposts to guide his actions. However, he remains wary of relying too heavily on his foresight. He knows better than anyone that the future is fluid, and even the most vivid visions can be undone by a single unexpected choice or event.
-
One unique aspect of his power is its involuntary nature. While Vyeran can sometimes tap into his abilities intentionally—usually through deep concentration or emotional intensity—his visions often come unbidden, triggered by strong emotions, danger, or seemingly random moments. This lack of control is a source of great frustration for him, as he never knows when his foresight will strike or what it will show him. It’s not uncommon for him to receive visions at inconvenient or even dangerous times, leaving him disoriented and vulnerable.
-
The sensory aspect of his power is another challenge. Vyeran doesn’t just see the future—he experiences it. His visions come with sights, sounds, and even sensations, making them feel alarmingly real. This immersive quality makes it hard for him to distinguish visions from reality at times, especially when they’re particularly vivid or emotionally charged. It also means that he sometimes carries the emotional weight of futures that might never come to pass, such as the grief of losing someone or the elation of a victory that may never happen.
-
While Vyeran’s foresight is the most prominent aspect of his powers, his lineage as a child of Apollo grants him other abilities as well. He has an innate connection to light and warmth, though it’s subtle compared to his prophetic gift. In moments of deep concentration or heightened emotion, he can radiate a soft, golden glow, as if embodying a fragment of his divine parent’s essence. This light is comforting and soothing, and it often acts as a beacon in times of darkness, though Vyeran is hesitant to use it intentionally, as he views it as a distraction from the “real” power he wields.
-
Vyeran’s relationship with his powers is complicated. On one hand, he views them as a core part of his identity, a divine gift that sets him apart and gives him purpose. On the other hand, he resents the chaos they bring into his life and the way they leave him feeling untethered and uncertain. His struggle lies in learning to embrace the unpredictability of his foresight, to find peace in the chaos and trust in himself to navigate the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.
Backstory:
Vyeran’s life began in 249 B.C.E. in the shadow of war and destruction, born to a mortal mother, descended from the Messenger Iris, who never wanted a child, and a god who would never truly care. His mother, a healer in a war-torn region of ancient Greece, was devastated when she realized her child’s father was Apollo, the god who had seduced her and left her with the weight of a divine child to raise. She tried to love Vyeran, but her bitterness and fear of the gods poisoned their relationship. To her, Vyeran was a constant reminder of her trauma, and she treated him more like a burden than a son.
-
As a child, Vyeran exhibited strange gifts, his visions of the future haunting him from an early age. When he warned his village of an impending raid, his prophecy was ignored. That night, the village was attacked by marauding soldiers, and Vyeran witnessed unimaginable horrors. Homes burned to the ground, his neighbors slaughtered like animals, and his mother—a woman he both loved and resented—was cut down before his eyes. He barely escaped with his life, his wings manifesting for the first time in his desperation. But even as he fled, his visions wouldn’t stop. He saw the futures of those who died, paths they would never walk, moments they would never have. The weight of their lost potential became an unbearable burden.
-
The centuries that followed were no kinder. Vyeran roamed the world, seeking purpose and safety but finding neither. He lived through countless wars and plagues, each one etching new scars into his soul. In the 14th century, he found himself in a small European village during the height of the Black Death. He tried to help the sick, drawing upon his inherited divine essence to ease their suffering, but it was never enough. He could see the futures they would never have—the children they wouldn’t raise, the dreams they wouldn’t achieve—and it broke him. The villagers, desperate and terrified, turned on him when they realized he wasn’t aging or falling ill. They accused him of being a demon or a curse, dragging him from his shelter and beating him until his blood stained the ground. Though he survived, he carried the memories of their betrayal and the faces of those he couldn’t save.
-
Vyeran’s immortality made him a witness to humanity’s darkest moments. He was in Paris during the French Revolution, where he saw friends dragged to the guillotine, their heads severed from their bodies while blood pooled in the streets. He was in Hiroshima in 1945, where he watched in helpless horror as the atomic bomb annihilated an entire city, leaving nothing but ash, shadows, and the screams of the dying. No matter where he went or how he tried to avoid it, violence followed him.
-
But it wasn’t just war and death that shaped Vyeran’s pain—it was the loss of those he loved. Over the centuries, he allowed himself to care for others, to hope that maybe he could find connection despite his immortality. Again and again, those he cherished were torn away from him, often in the most gruesome ways imaginable. He fell in love with a Roman soldier, a brave man who saw Vyeran for who he was, wings and all. They planned to run away together, but before they could, the soldier was discovered and executed for desertion. Vyeran was forced to watch as his lover was crucified, his screams echoing in Vyeran’s ears for centuries to come.
-
In the 1600s, Vyeran befriended a young witch during the witch trials in Salem. She was kind, curious, and saw beauty in his divine nature. But when she was accused of witchcraft, Vyeran’s attempts to save her only made things worse. The villagers thought him a demon, and they burned her alive while forcing him to watch. Her screams haunted his visions for years, her face appearing in the futures that would never be.
-
These tragedies hardened Vyeran, but they also hollowed him out. He stopped letting people in, believing that to love was to invite pain. Yet, he couldn’t stop the ache of loneliness that gnawed at him, a constant reminder of all he had lost.
-
Even in more modern times, his suffering didn’t end. During World War II, he joined resistance efforts in Europe, hoping to use his foresight to save lives. But for every person he saved, dozens more died. He saw children torn apart by bombs, entire families gunned down in the streets, and comrades executed in cold blood. His visions became a source of torment, showing him futures he couldn’t change no matter how hard he tried.
-
Vyeran’s immortal body may be flawless, but his soul is anything but. His past is littered with blood, betrayal, and unbearable loss. Each time he sees his reflection, he’s reminded of the countless lives he couldn’t save, the faces of those he’s loved and lost etched into his memory. His anger, his self-consciousness, and his relentless determination to fight stem from the endless pain he carries. Despite his divine lineage, Vyeran’s life has been anything but blessed, leaving him a broken, battle-hardened soul trying to find meaning in an existence filled with grief.
