Redemption
I hate the title. Leave me alone.

In a world absorbed in electronics and social media, child deliquency has been running rampant, leaving the world in the hands of future adults who often feel left out, misunderstood, and angry. They aren't to be blamed for this, though, it's the world that they have inherited, without any true instruction on what to do with it. Attempts have been made in the past to change that narrative, but they've all failed, leaving the young adults confused and lost more than before.

Unfortunately, just like humans, some equines are not given a fair shake at life from the get go. Some are left behind, forgotten, or just down right neglected, treated as if their lives are just somehow less important than others. As sad as it may be, many of these creatures go through life without anyone opening another door for them.

However, the Tranquility Ranch, a horse rescue, has decided to work with the largest Juvenile Hall in the area to try and chance that. Believing that hard work, hard days, and horses could help put these young deliquents on a better bath, they have come up with an agreement with the state government. Ten Deliquents will be taken to the Ranch's new Summer Camp [Donated to them by the High Meadows Riding Academy who supports this idea] for a summer program, where they will stay until the end in hopes that they will leave, in some way, reformed. If they can give these kids a better life, a place where they learn that they mean something, they believe the world will be a better place.

These ten teenagers will have a hard summer ahead of them, everything in them put to a test, but in the end, it could be worth it.Where they will be put to the test to change the life of one forgotten horse in just one summer. They will be tasked with gentling and train these horses to be, at least, Ranch horses, and prepare them for the End of Summer Challenge. This challenge will not only test the training of the rider and horse, but also the bond they have built. The winner at the end of the tournament will win a full scholarship to the High Meadows Academy, and should they wish, the horse they trained will become theirs. Permanently.

So today, May 27th, their lives will change forever. Hopefully for the Better.

My Roleplay Rules
Follow all of WP's and Eve's Rules
1. Be Active. Do not Join never to be active. This applies to Discussion and Rp.

2. This is a Semi-Literate Rp. All Rp Post must be a Minimum of 1 Paragraph of at least 5 Full Sentences with Decent Punctuation, Spelling, & Grammar.

3. Reservations will last for 48 Hours. Extentions may only be given if you ask, but I make no promises.

4. Be Respectful. To Everyone. Characters can fight in Rp, but I want NO OOC drama.

5. Follow WP's Rules when using stock for the Horses. For this rp only stock from Deviantart is accepted. This is also a Semi-Realistic Rp, verging closer to Realistic. Horses must be realistic colors, even for their breed.

6. Maximum 4 Characters Per Person for Now. This means: Two Humans, Two Horses Maximum.

7. No Perfect Characters, God Modding, or anything of the Sort. Please put your favorite breed of horse in the other section of your Rp if you've read this far.

8. Also, don't have your character be "That Guy". You know the one. While breaking rules can be fun, it isn't when it's constant. So just don't be "That Guy".

10. The Horses Cannot be Untameable or Untrainable. All the horses are supposed to be trained, or at least gentled/started, at some point. So they can be difficult, but not impossible.

11. For the Purpose of this Rp, there will be no Foals right now. But maybe later? Who knows. Romance with Students and Horses is allowed, encouraged, and we love it.

12. Try to pick breeds that haven't been used multiple times, but this is more of a recommendation than a requirement.

13. I will be assigning Horses to Riders, so don't be surprised if you don't get paired with who you had in mind.

14. Read Everything. If you have put the missing number in your form somewhere, hide it please.

15. Have Fun!

Information on the Camp

This camp will last one full summer. All the riders are of different experience levels with horses. Some could be near experts, having been riding since they can remember and likely showing in competitions as well. Others might be completely green, and have no experience at all. Riders will be paired with horses that match their experience level. A green rider will be with an easier horse than a more experienced rider to keep things fair.

The riders, or students, will be the ones training and caring for their horses every day. However, there will be instructors (rpable as side characters) who will be there to guide and supervise them, as well as two camp counselors [1 for each dorm building] who will also act as instructors. Some of these intructors will also be judges for the trails at the end. But basically, the riders will live, breathe, and sleep the camp. Of course, there will be fun mixed in though.

The horses of this camp will come from all sorts of backgrounds. Some could be grade horses or ponies, while some could have some of the purest of bloodlines or be extremely well bred. None of that matters though, because they all wound up at the same place: Tranquility Ranch Rescue. All of these horses have been overlooked at the rescue for one reason or another, and have been brought to the camp as a last ditch effort to help them find homes. Whether it be with their riders after the camp, or by someone else who saw the horse because of the camp, or even a ranch who is willing to take them as ranch horses now that they've had some current training. Either way, their goal is to get the horses into better places.

At the end of the 12 weeks (aka summer break), the riders will all take place in various trials. What hasn't been announced to the students is that the rider who does best overall will be given a full ride scholarship to the High Meadows Riding Academy, and will be able to permanently keep their horse if they wish.

The Camp Schedule

While the riders will be the ones training the horses, there is still a daily schedule and classes to be held to aid them.

Daily Schedule
*This applies to every day but Saturday & Sunday

8:00 Am - Morning Bells
8:30 Am - Breakfast
9:30 Am - Morning Horse & Tack Care
11:30 Am - Group Horse Gentling/Bonding
1:00 Pm - Lunch
2:00 Pm - Disciplines & Ranch Class
3:00 Pm - Individual Training Period
5:00 Pm - Individual Horse Bonding
6:00 Pm - Wind Down Period
6:30 Pm - Evening Horse Care
7:30 Pm - Dinner
8:30 Pm - Evening Bonfire
10:00 Pm - Evening Bells & Nightly Rounds

Weekly Schedule Explaination

8:00 Am: The Morning Bells will ring at this time every weekday morning, except Saturday. This is to signify that the riders need to get up, get ready, and be in the lunch room by 8:30 Am.

8:30 AM: Breakfast is held in the lunch room every morning. Different meals will be served by the culinary staff, and they will know of any dietary restrictions before hand, and make sure they are followed for that rider.

9:30 Am: Morning Horse & Tack Care is a two part class and training perod. There will be lessons in this period, as well as them actually doing the care themselves. Riders will learn the expectations for horse and tack care on the first day, and it will be upheld through the whole summer.

11:30 Am: Group Horse Gentling/Bonding will take place in a group setting, where instructors can help students begin the process of gentling and bonding with their horse. They will be exceptionally vigilant of the horses who they know are extraordinarily difficult. These classes may either go one at a time, or in a group setting of all at once.

1:00 Pm: Lunch, pretty simple.

2:00 Pm: The Disciplines and Ranch Class is an unsuual hybrid class. It's to go over the different disciplines so that each of the students can kind of decide what might fit them. While also going over things they'll need to train their horse for to be a ranch horse, as, if they aren't adopted, that's likely what they'll become. It gives them the tools they need to choose their future and help prepare their horse for theirs.

3:00 Pm: Individual Training period will be the time they get to train their horses on their own away from their peers. They can either be alone, or have 1:1 time with an instructor.

5:00 Pm: Individual Horse Bonding is a period where people get to spend time with their horse. Whether to work on commands, training, etc. Or just to simply spend time with them. Either way this hour is mostly just dedicated to aiding them build a bond with their horse.

6:00 Pm: The Winding Down Period is a thirty minute session dedicated to cleaning arenas that havent been yet, putting equipment away, etc. This is also a time where if all of that is done, they are free to do whatever before they go to take care of their horse.

6:30 Pm: Evening Horse Care is exactly as it sounds. They put their horses where they need to be for the evening, feed them, etc. They also use this hour to prepare things for the following day.

7:30 Pm: Dinner, Self Explanatory.

8:30 Pm: The Evening Bonfire is something the camp does as like a socialization hour. The Riders and instructors get to relax and sit back, put their feet up. They do not have to be at the bonfire, but they can be if they. This is also the time where if they need to shower, anything else, etc. they can.

10:00 Pm: The Evening Bells signify the time when everyone needs to be in their dorm rooms. They don't necessarily need to go to sleep, however, they do have to be in their rooms. Instructors will go around and check rooms to be sure everyone is accounted for too.

The Weekends

The Weekends are the only days that do not have a set schedule unless sent out in advance that there will be some activity or competition. This means on the weekends, the riders may do as they please. They are still expected to care for their horse, but they do not have training or anything. There is a time slot for visitation from family though, so families will come during those times to visit on either day [whichever works best for the family].

Family Visitation Hours: 11 Am - 4 Pm

Acitivities that Riders Can Do:
-Visit the Nearby Town (Shop, Movies, Food, etc.)
- Movie Night at the Camp
- Trail Ride (If they have a horse they can go on)
- Swim at the Nearby Lake or River
- Canoe or Paddle Board at Nearby Lake

______________________________________

The Camp Dorms

There are three main buildings for the camp, and then the large stables, paddocks and pastures, and the arenas. The buildings are made up of two Dorm Buildings, and another large building that holds everything else.

The dorm buildings are single story cabins that have several rooms, each set up to hold two riders. The rooms are completely furnished for the riders, so that all they have to bring is themselves and their own clothes and personal items. However, if they wish to bring their own linens, they certainly can. The rooms hold two twin beds, two dressers, two nightstands, two small desk and two small closets. Often the bed and the desks are furnished into one, so the bottom is the desk, with the bed on the top as a bunk. Each dorm has it's own kitchen and great room that all the riders for that dorm have access too. Each bedroom also has its own bathroom connected to it so that only two riders share one bathroom. The kitchens are primarily unusued for anything other than snacks, drinks, etc.

The third building, which is referred to mainly as the "Main Building" holds several things. On the first floor, and most prominently, is the lunch room where everyone eats their meals. There are multiple tables setup to accomadate them all. The room is connected directly to the large kitchen where staff prepare meals for all. There are also several office rooms where instructors and other head staff use during the day, which includes a nurse station. The second floor holds a couple of classrooms, exactly two really, though there is rarely more than one in use at a time. It also holds a Library for the students to use. The second floor holds a couple of other small rooms, but they aren't for student use. The third floor is the rooms for the instructors and staff. They aren't anything special.

The Camp Stables

While the dorms and other buildings are pretty normal, the stables here are eye catching. New and top of the line, these stables are everything an equestrian could ever want. There is one large building which houses all the horse stall, wash talls, tack room, etc. It's a long, large building with dark wood interior.

Each horse has it's designated stall marked by a name plate, with a sliding, latchable door to the inside of the stable, and a back door that leads to a small paddock of the horse's own. Some horse stalls have been specially rigged to lead to larger pastures out of safety precautions. Each stall has the necessities, which includes water and food buckets, and a spot for hay. The backdoors can be left open to their paddock, fully closed, or with the bottom closed an top open.

In the camp there are also two covered arenas, as well as two outside arenas, three larger pastures, two rounds pends, and 3 medium sized pastures. All of these and the stables take up quite a bit of space, but all are within walking distance of the dorms, the builders having utilized space in an efficient way. There are also things like several marked trails, a practice course for cross country, and more.

Name:

Honey;
Her Registered Name is Honeysuckle Sundown.
Nickname:
Just Honey.
Age:
16 Years Young
Gender:

Female
Breed:

Dutch Warmblood
Appearance:

The Broodmare is a rather tall horse, standing at 17 hh. There is something elegant and lean, almost lanky, about the mare's build. She's tall and graceful, moving around with an easy purpose, while carrying the foaling belly with pride. While she has birthed her foal, she hasn't quite lost the roundness of having done so. The mare doesn't sport a very heavy figure, not being very big boned, but she's a surefooted and steady mare. Honey isn't a mare that you can call dainty, there is a maturity to her figure that only comes with age, but even as a youth she just never quite seemed to be dainty, she never seemed breakable.

The tall mare is a rather pretty mare, but she isn't flashy or young like other mares are. She sports a rather light chestnut coat, not being overly bright or deep in coloration. Her mane and tail, which are more medium in length, are richer in color, appearing a slightly deeper red than her base coat. She isn't a mare that is going to stand out from the crowd or attract a lot of attention, and, truthfully, that has never bothered Honey. She's always gotten exactly what she needs, and she's content with that.

The mare has two white socks on her hind legs, and a blaze on her face that begins as a star on her forehead before painting down her face. Her grey muzzle as a blotch of pink where the blaze comes down, making her easy to identify because of it. Her voice is more matured than other mares, and thus appears to be a bit deeper, but there is something naturally soothing and comforting about the warm tones of her voice. As scent is something that resembles fall or autumn as well, something warm, maybe a bit of spice, like cinnamon, but not overwhelming.

History:

Honey had a short career as a show mare, but was quickly turned into a Broodmare due to her bloodline, temperment, and her own success. For over a decade the mare mothered successful offspring. At the age of about 13, though, they farm had an incident with a fire, and they ended up selling some of the broodmares to rebuild. From there she went to a very sweet elderly man, who thought she would be the perfect fit for him and his other aging horse that became a full time pasture mate. She lived a quiet, peaceful life wih them for about 3 years. One night the old man died peacefully in his sleep and Honey and her Pasture companion's future was undecided. They were taken in by the rescue when none of the family wanted to take in two older horses. She hasn't been in the rescue long, but none seemed interested in the slow moving mare and her companion. Eventually he passed on due to age, and it became just Honey.
Difficulty Level:
She's a 2.
She's quiet and gentle, and well trained. However, the mare is rusty, having not been ridden at all recently, and hasn't been ridden above a walk in years. To many she'd be slow and boring, but her sweet disposition, and pleasing personality makes her a dream to work with.

Name:
Belial
Nickname:
Bel Mostly.
Age:
7 Years and 2 Months
Gender:
Male
Breed:
Quarter Horse
Appearance:

Belial is a specimen that is easily overlooked, as he isn't a relatively tall stallion, nor a boisterous one. He doesn't stand at a miraculous height, only at about 16.2 hh total, though he has a stocky build that helps make up for his lack in height. With his robust build, being a more meaty stud, and cream colored coat, the stallion sometimes gets mistaken for a mare at a glance. It was the one thing his mother always gave him, he was pretty for a stud.

Being relatively wide, it's unsurprising that Belial has thickly built legs with large hooves to match. He's not build for great speed, but what he does do well is endurance and stamina. Capable of holding a steady jaunt for quite a while, he often can simply out last anything going against him. He has a set of wide and powerful shoulders and flanks, layered in thick muscle which make his kicks and pawing something to avoid if possible. He packs quite a bunch, and with ropey neck muscles to match, his bite is no less fierce. The heavy male has a bit of a more round build than his siblings, who are either leaner or just muscular in general, but do not mistake it for softness. There isn't a soft bone in the male's body.

The one thing Belial does have going for him, as his mother said, is he is a relatively pretty stallion. He isn't super rugged or overly masculine like some males, but also lacks the defined feminine features of mares, instead he balances somewhere in between. His coat, though, for some reason, is always viewed as something on the more feminine side, though he has no control over the genetics that created it. Belial is known as a Palomino, a pale creamy color base accented with white markings. The only white on him, though, is located as a single sock on his right hind leg, and a white star on his forehead. His mane and tail are not quite white, instead just being a paler cream color than his base color, though only by a few shades. However, as his mane and tail grow longer, the tips take on a gingery hue.

Belial has a pair of hazel eyes that have icy undertones to them, and a voice that is not entirely that deep for a stallion. It's actually rather light, and capable of reaching lethal chilly tones when angered.

Personality:
Independent || Subborn to the Core || Resilient || Jaded || Slow to Trust || Head Strong || Difficult || Sturdy || Strong Willed || Unyielding || Aggressive at Times || Resolute || Headstrong || Self-Willed or just Willful in General || Cautious || Determined || Grumpy || Easily Agitated or Annoyed || Serious || Stoic || Callous || Distant || Quiet & Reserved, but not in a Shy Way || Placid || Proud || Solemn || Aloof || Reactive

TBA

History:
Belial comes from a decent line of well-bred Quarter Horses, ones designed for Western Disciplines and Ranch work. He was gentled and trained before being put up for sale at three years old. Despite his age and minimal training, the stallion caught the eye of a rider and his family, who thought he was beautiful, flashy, and would be the perfect fit for the teenage son despite his youth and inexperience. They believed they could train the stubborn personality out of the stallion, or train someone to do it for them. Unfortunately, Belial turned out to be far too much for them. Their treatment of him when things didn't go plan left the stallion a bit jaded, becoming even more stubborn and set in his ways as he aged. Eventually they decided to send him to auction, believing him to be a broken horse who couldn't be trained. Over the next year he was sold from home to home a couple more times as more people bought him for his appearance, not realizing what they were getting into and not being able to handle it. Finally, after about his fifth time at auction, the rescue stepped in and took him. He's been with them for a bit and already made a bit of progress, but it's evident he needs a lot more time and work to get anywhere near where he could be.
Difficulty Level:

He's a Solid 8.
Belial rates as high as he does on the difficulty level for two reasons. The first is his stubbornness and absolute refusal to do anything that he doesn't want to do. He might tack up all nice and easy, but that doesn't mean you'll get him to take a single step that isn't his idea or what he wants. Try to force him? He will just stand there, maybe even lay down. The second? His mouth. The stallion has scar tissue around the corners of his mouth and more from his head and mouth just being wrenched and cranked on to the point of actually causing damage. He's healed now, and it doesn't cause him pain, but he's very sensitive about it and doesn't like it when anyone tries to touch his mouth. It's one of the few times he will get aggressive and try to bite to defend himself. He will do what he can to give them warnings, but if they don't listen and let him create space they'll get bit. This also means he currently won't wear a normal bridle, it has to be bitless. If someone tries to put a normal one on him, they'll get the same results as if they were trying to touch his mouth. If someone successfully forces one on his head, you'll get a horse rarely seen in Belial, and the devil in him will come out tenfold.

Blue is a young woman of slightly above average height. She hovers somewhere between 5'7" and 5'8", making her taller than average but not exceptionally so. She has a slim, but still curvy frame, but one that isn't jam packed full of muscle. She could be considered tone, but she isn't ripped with defined and hard muscle. She has a more hourglass type figure, with a narrow waist and more pronounced hips. Her shoulders are about the same width as her hips, though slightly less. Her skin tone is a soft ivory in color, very little coloration in the tone of her skin. She does get flushed easily, so if she's blushing you'll notice her cheeks get red, eventually followed by her face, neck, and ears if it gets worse. This also applies to when she's not feeling well, or has been working out.

Tabitha has a heart shaped face with a slender, narrow chin and a gentle jawline. Her cheekbones aren't anything to scoff at even if they won't cut glass, but combined with her hooded and slightly downturned eyes, it's easy to say she's pleasing to look at. Her eyes, which are often deadpanned and emotionless, are a bright cerulean, some of the clearest blue eyes you'll ever see. She has a short, small nose that is on the narrow side, so it's can't quite be considered a button nose. Her lips are also on the thinner side, and often coated in a soft pink lip gloss that gives them a shimmer that makes them look a bit fuller.

Born with naturally dark, black hair, Blue has long since been away from her natural locks. Instead she practices what she wants on her twin, before doing it to herself. Right now she's bleached and then dyed her hair a darker blue, something equivalent almost to the color of jeans. She's got shorter hair, with bangs that reach down belong her eyes, and hair that reaches down her nape in length. Her hair is naturally straight, but isn't super thick, so it's easy for her to do whatever she wants with it.

Blue keeps herself well groomed, always wearing some of the top of the line fashion, with the news products for hair and makeup. She's always, it seems, got makeup on, though she tunes it to whatever she's going to be doing that day. The clothes she wears are also things that she finds comfortable, even if others wouldn't. Like form fitting tops, often exposing her mid-drift, little half jackets to keep her warm, skinny jeans, shorts, or skirts, and whatever shoes she feels like wearing. Oddly enough she loves pairing the English Riding Type Boots with whatever outfit shes wears, believing they help make her legs look phenomenal.

History:
If you haven't already been able to tell, Blue grew up in the more City to Suburb like area. Her family wasn't necessarily rich, but they were comfortable. Her parents doted on her, her twin, and their sibling, but it seems like all an act to Blue looking back. She got to partake in Show Jumping, and was beginning training in Eventing, as well as showing interest in other hobbies when the rug was ripped out from beneath her and her family.

It turns out that while at her private lessons, her dad was getting to know the stable owner a bit more than anyone thought. Before she knew what was going on, her parents were divored, her father had a new wife and a baby on the way, and Blue, her siblings, and her mother were forced to move back in with her Grandparents. To Blue it had felt like she lost everything. She lost her dad, her home, her life, her horse, all of it. So she started to act out as a result. It began as simply refusing to do what anyone wanted her to do, and escalated to theft, etc. Her mother tried being patient and understanding with her, realizing what was going on, but she also realized soon her daughter wouldn't be a child anymore, so she signed her up for the camp after her most recent return to Juvenile Hall.
Experience Level:
At Most Intermediate
She went to a summer camp or two, and was put into Show Jumping when she was younger. She did enjoy it, but then, yanno, she got older and nothing seemed fun anymore.
