Smart!! I would spend maybe at least an hour doing it in one day 😆. The recipes asking for lemon were odd though.

Well i did the filling last night, put it in the fridge to cool, and started the pie itself this morning! The recipe did call for lemon, i had to juice and zest one in the bowl of apples

You just gave me an idea. I'm not only going to take a photo of my starter once he reaches DG, I'm gonna make a badge out of it, too!

Also, thank you! The model for my current badges is coincidentally the first son of my starter -WP Click-

Something in the Orange

tells me we're not done...

The herd of Khule has been thriving in their territory for generations. They have created something for themselves, almost like that of a kingdom, becoming one of the most popular and respected herds in the land. Each year the herd would grow more and more, populating their lands each time a new foal was born or a bachelor was accepted to stay. It was like this for years, and no other herds ever tried overthrowing them.

However, not everything good can last as long as everyone wants.

Winter had came. It was a manageable one in the beginning, however, things took the turn for the worse after a horrible blizzard came through, separating most of the herd, and killing off many others. Sickness began to spread, and none of it could be prevented. The Khule herd had no other choice but to accept their losses and move on, honoring their fallen members each day. However, there was something much worse than just sickness and death.

A neighboring herd had been waiting for this moment. Though much smaller, they decided that now would be the time to strike the Khule herd. Their leader being a ruthless mare, honored by her ruthless stallion that she has chosen, they attacked at night while the territory was vulnerable. While most of the Khule herd put up a fight, some didn't make it.

Including their beloved leader.

Now leaderless and vulnerable, this neighboring herd, the Fikile herd, has trumped the Khule herd. Their leaders creating new rules, banishing everyone who has gone against them, and changing things for the worse.

Those who were originally in the Khule herd have come up with a plan to take back what is theirs. What they rightfully have to own. Praying to their gods, praying to their fallen, and praying to any past generations.

Something in the orange tells them they're not done.

Territory

The Khule herd's territory, known as Khaya, stretches for miles upon miles in all directions. The seasons are rather mild, though sometimes they can experience things like blizzards, drought, flooding, etc. The Fikile herd has been living just outside of the territory, sending some of their more trusted stallions and mares in to spy to report back to their leaders on when to attack.

Here are some more notable locations:

The Pasture

©leeorr-stock @ da

This is the Khule herd's main area/camp, if you will. It is basically a large field that goes on for miles before meeting the surrounding creek to the east, which leads to another part of their claimed land. This is simply the main place that everyone stays, and nobody leaves it if they have to. There is a surrounding forest and mountains that is also claimed by the Khule herd.

Whispering Winds

The mountains. These mountains are not often visited, however, annual ceremonies may be held there sometimes as the Khule herd believes it brings them close to their gods in a physical sense. Some horses may go here on request to look for refugees or foals who have wandered off. It is quite dangerous to visit without at least someone else with you. There are plenty of bears, wolves, and cougars that roam this area. They are snow-capped all year-round.

Praying Meadows

To the east of the Pasture is a beautiful meadow that is especially attractive in the spring. This is the place where the Khule herd would pray to their gods, hold ceremonies, and sometimes use this place as some sort of 'playground' for the foals to roam and sometimes even train them. It is considered to be sacred, and no outsider should ever come there uninvited. The Fikile herd has forbidden the Khule herd members of travelling there, so it is now guarded.

Lone Creek

As the name suggests, this is a creek that divides some of the territory up and is the herd's main drinking source. Because it is located in the forest, it is suggested that you do not go there alone to prevent death.
