Njord Egilson - 23 - Frostbite raiders
-
The sound of crunching leaves and grass stems surrounded the young Viking, he knew that he wasn't the best hunter due to his size, as he didn't have the ability to sneak. He did not sneak, if something needed to be done, he will go in head first with all his power.
Njord stopped, the spear in his hand tipped towards the ground as he placed a hand to his chest, trying to calm his breathing. The squeal of a distant wild boar caught his attention, "there you are" he muttered, looking around to spot his brothers, it seems they haven't managed to catch the wild boars trail yet. A small smile hinted on Njords face, "point for me" he muttered before continuing on to where he heard the wild boar.
-
The young Viking somewhat managed to arrive at the clearing where he last heard the wild boar, his chest heaving and his breath visible in the frosty air, he was not made for running, oh no no no, despite his fit exterior, running was just not his thing. Njord looked around the clearing, spotting that the boar prints went around in a circle here, the Viking bent to examine the ground, his fingers touching the soil when he heard a animalistic grunt. Njord whirled around so fast on his haunches that he feel to the ground, spotting the big hair and ugly boar looking him in the eye. Njord sat still, he had no idea what to do in these situations, as he had never been in this situation. The boar pawed at the ground and lowered its head, the dangerous tusks pointed at him.
Njord opened his mouth then shut it, letting out a wild yell as he pushed himself up, the boar pushed off and rammed his right leg, tusks tearing at the skin. Njord didn't even bother trying to focus on it, instead he grabbed stumbled away, the stupid thing broke his spear that he dropped.
Njord felt the anger inside him combust, his eyes bleeding into purple, his pale skin to black, his size growing but the trees managed to hide him. Soon Njord stood there, mighty and dark, his sharp black teeth grafting a smile, they both know that he has already won.
Njord swung down on the wild boar with his spiked barb, the weight knocking the hairy beast out. He couldn't kill it in his dragon form otherwise people would suspect. Njord started to make his way over to the boar, in the middle of shifting when he heard a gasp, he spun around to see one of Glumdottir's staring at him like he was a bad spirit, which it probably looked like. Njord hadn't managed to say a thing before the girl turned and ran off, Njords eyes went wide. Shit, she saw him. Shit, shit shit. Njord was fucked... unless! He got to her first, spoke to he, made her see reason!
Njord gave a dark smile to the boar, "and you will be coming with me" he said, taking a piece of his broken spear and cutting the boar dead.
-
The heavy wait of the dead boar was almost nothing to Njord, it was the blood that was annoying him, he would have to wash his armour and furs later, or just get someone to do it. He placed his kill on a wooden bench covered in blood stains, the ladies will soon start to butcher it.

ᚢᚱᛁᛗᛖᚾᛟᚱ- 17 - 3ᚱᛞ ᛈᛖᚱᛋᛟᚾ

(Urimenor - 17 - 3rd Person)

The day was still early and Urimenor had just come back from foraging for more herbs and medicinal plants. As she entered the village she paused and looked around, it was quiet. She could see the fishermen down on the docks and men coming back from morning hunts. Uri looked to her left and saw that the metal-smith was awake and getting his fire warmed up. When she looked to her right she saw the mountains and at the base of them was the witches' home.

Most girls got betrothed between the ages of 13 and 15 and got married after they turned 16. Well, for witches it was rare to become betrothed, so they normally lived together. Since Uri had just recently turned 17 she was being forced to move into the witches' home with the other 2 witches that lived there. One was an older woman, old enough she could be a village elder, and the other was a middle-aged woman.

Urimenor shivered before she turned right, headed towards the witchs’ home. The path beneath her furry leather boots changed to a more uneven path, proof the path wasn’t taken very often. Once Uri reached the door she knocked and then entered, no one said anything as she entered. She simply went to the stairs and climbed up.

Her space would be the small paper floor of the house since she was the only one able enough to get to it. She was in the process of moving her stuff, thankfully she had already moved most of it and she just needed to get furs and blankets before winter hit. She looked around her small space and stored the herbs in a safe place before she went back down the stairs and left. The house was dead silent and no one ever said anything to anyone anyway.

When Urimenor left the house she looked around and froze, in front of her, in the distance she could see a group of fishing ships bringing in a whale. With a sigh, she headed for the docks. Certain parts of the whales were useful, like their bones, they made excellent braces.

As she walked closer to the docks the fishermen were seen hauling it on land and they had begun gutting the large beast and hauling its guts out before throwing them back out in the ocean. When she got closer villagers made way for her. One of the perks of being a witch was that if something was that no one ever questioned what you were doing because they knew they wouldn’t understand anyway. They just made way and allowed her to get right up to the whale.

“ᛁ ᚾᛖᛖᛞ ᛒᛟᚾᛖᛋ” (I need bones) She said in a monotone voice, seeing that they had cut enough meat away already to expose the bone. One of the fishermen glared at her for a moment then let out a huff and he took the back of his axe and struck the large bone several times until it broke. They cut the rest of the meat away from it before making a pile of large bones.

“ᛁ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᚾᛖᛖᛞ ᚻᛖᛚᛈ” (I will need help) she said as if it wasn’t obvious enough, the irritated fisherman motioned for his sons to help Uri. Once they picked up the bones she led them back to the witches’ home where they dropped them outside and left. With a bored sigh, Uri watched the young men walk away before she began bringing in the bones one by one. The other witches stared at her wide-eyed.

“ᛏᚻᛖᚣ ᚳᚫᚢᚸᚻᛏ ᚫ ᚹᚻᚫᛚᛖᛳ” (They caught a whale?) The middle-aged woman said in an arrogant tone. “ᛏᚻᛁᛋ ᛚᚫᛏᛖ ᛁᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛋᛖᚫᛋᛟᚾᛳ” (this late in the season?)

“ᛈᚱᛟᛒᚫᛒᛚᚣ ᛋᛁᚳᚴᛧ ᛗᚫᚴᛖ ᛋᚢᚱᛖ ᚫᛚᛚ ᛟᚩ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛒᛟᚾᛖᛋ ᚫᚱᛖ ᛋᛏᚱᛟᚾᚸ” (Probably sick, make sure all of the bones are strong) The oldest witch said, motioning to one bone and prodding it with her walking stick.

“ᛁᛏ ᛏᛟᛟᚴ ᛏᚻᛖᛗ ᛗᚫᚾᚣ ᛋᛏᚱᛁᚴᛖᛋ ᛏᛟ ᛒᚱᛖᚫᚴ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛒᛟᚾᛖ” (It took them many strikes to break the bone) Uri said and the oldest one nodded, concluding their conversation.

What I use to get the Nordic translator

Njord Egilson - 23 - Frostbite raiders
-
Njord sat at a long table in the feasting hall, his arms braced on either side of him with a cup of mead in his left hand. Njord swallowed a sip of mead, his belly let out a loud roar of protest, it wanted food, not drink. Beside him, his brother, Sixten turned with his eyebrow raised, "was that you, you oversized bear?" He said, Njord laughed and looked at his older brother, "At least I don't look like one" he said, together the two brothers laughed, their laughter joining many along the table, all men.
Soon the women arrived, carrying platters of breads, porridges and meat. But some also brought pitchers of mead, Njord smiled and lifted his cup, a sign for more. A brunette haired woman came up to him and poured him some more drink, a smile on her face. Soon everyone started to take their seats, the Jarl sat at the head of the table, a cup in his hand and furs draped over his shoulders.
Njord watched the women take seats on the bench's and some in men's laps.
Across from him, he saw the young girl from earlier sit down in front of him, her father, Glum, beside her. Njord swallowed nervously, he forgot to talk to the girl between treating his legs and watching his boar being butchered. The very boar he heaped onto his plate. Njord watched the girl carefully, just as she watched him, the young Viking warrior tore into the boar, the meat shredding from his teeth.
Njord watched as the girl finished her meal picking and leaned over, her eyes trained on Njord as she whispered in her fathers ear. The bitch. Glum dropped the leg of meat he had in his hand, his eyes dragging to Njord, meeting them.
Glum stood, her arm pointing towards Njord, "Evil" he muttered, "Dragon!" He yelled again, soon, everyone's eyes turned to Njord, including his own family. Glum had much influence on the clan, influence with the Jarl. Njord was royally fucked.
The young Viking warrior pushed himself up from the table, racing towards the exit, perhaps they would forget this in a weeks time, but his leg slowed him down tremendously and soon a net with weights trapped the injured Viking to the ground.
The Jarl stood over him, hate covering his face, "we will see what you truely are tomorrow morning!" He roared, the others roaring along beside him, Njord looked over to where his family was and prayed to them, pled. But his father did nothing but turn away, and Njord was left to be tied to the nearest tree, hoping he could get out before morning.

ᚢᚱᛁᛗᛖᚾᛟᚱ- 17 - 3ᚱᛞ ᛈᛖᚱᛋᛟᚾ

(Urimenor - 17 - 3rd Person)
Urimenor and the other 2 witches were currently cleaning up the bones so that they would be clean enough for use and so that the scraps would be turned into bone powder. She was bored out of her mind not paying much attention to the world around her as she was focused on the bone in front of her.

After a bit, the witches finished and went back to their tasks, leaving Uri to her problems. In the village, it was common knowledge that witches could turn into animals, but it wasn’t common to know what they turned into. The witches would always tattoo it onto one another’s backs, but that meant only the one who tattooed them knew. The middle-aged woman could turn into a wolf and the oldest could turn into an eagle, but here Uri was, able to turn into something most the villagers feared, a dragon.

Uri walked along the path and into the village again. It was a lot more active now that it was late afternoon. Normally, around this time, they would all eat in the great hall. Urimenor glanced towards the great hall, wondering if she wanted to push her luck. After a bit, she made her decision and trudged towards the giant doors and entered. Only a few eyes fell on her, since she was such a common face every day in the village no one found it weird when she made appearances in public. On the other hand, the other witches were a rare sight, refusing to go into the village in fear that they would be called monsters and ashamed at the fact they had never been wed.

Uri glanced towards the food before making her way over. Before she could even grab a plate, a large plate of food was shoved into her hands by her eldest brother, Ragnar. A warm but playful smile made its way to Uri’s face as her brother acted heedlessly, not making eye contact with her before giving her a smirk and then guiding her toward the table where he would normally sit.
Ragnar was a well-known hunter in the village, standing at about 6’2” of pure lean muscle, he was an astonishing hunter. When he was a boy he found a wolf pup and their father let him keep and train it, so normally the wolf would follow wherever he goes.

Uri looked down at Ragnar’s wolf and gently let the wolf sniff her hand, with a huff the wolf paid her no mind. The wolf never cared for her, but then again she did smell like a dragon. Once she sat down across from her brother the two ate in silence. Whenever Uri sat with Ragnar she was normally left alone, her brother’s status and impact allowed him to have that effect so if he was relaxed around her the rest of the village would be as well.

Ragnar knew what Uri was, he was the one who calmed her down after she shifted on accident for the first time. Their father was out fishing and she went with him as well as Ragnar. Ragnar and her had wandered off a bit and got themselves into trouble, accidentally finding the wolf pack's den. In a panic, Uri accidentally shifted, scaring the wolf pack off. Stressed, Uri quickly shifted back. Despite how shocked he was, Ragnar stood up and comforted his younger sister. Seeing as that her once golden brown eyes were now a bright shade of neon pink, he knew he would have to explain to his father. When Ragnar looked around and saw that one of the wolf pups hadn’t run away he noticed the runt and decided to take it as proof.

The rest is history, and the event left Ragnar extremely protective over his youngest sister, Urimenor.

“ᚻᛟᚹ ᚹᛟᚢᛚᛞ ᚣᛟᚢ ᛚᛁᚴᛖ ᛏᛟ ᚸᛟ ᚻᚢᚾᛏᛁᚾᚸ ᚹᛁᛏᚻ ᛗᛖᛳ” (How would you like to go hunting with me?) Ragnar asked Uri in an excited tone.

“ᚹᛟᚢᛚᛞ ᛏᚻᛖᚣ ᛖᚡᛖᚾ ᚫᛚᛚᛟᚹ ᛁᛏᛳ” (would they even allow it?) Uri asked Ragnar with a curious but shocked tone.

“ᛁ ᛏᛟᛚᛞ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛖᛚᛞᛖᚱᛋ ᛏᚻᚫᛏ ᛁ ᚹᛁᛋᚻᛖᛞ ᛏᛟ ᚻᚢᚾᛏ ᛋᛟᛗᛖᛏᚻᛁᚾᚸ ᛚᚫᚱᚸᛖ ᚫᚾᛞ ᛋᛟ ᛁ ᚫᛋᚴᛖᛞ ᛏᛟ ᛒᚱᛁᚾᚸ ᚫ ᚹᛁᛏᚳᚻ ᚹᛁᛏᚻ ᛗᛖ. ᛏᚻᛖᚣ ᚫᛚᛚᛟᚹᛖᛞ ᛁᛏ ᛋᚫᚣᛁᚾᚸ ᛏᚻᚫᛏ ᛁᛏ ᚹᚫᛋ ᚱᛖᚫᛋᛟᚾᚫᛒᛚᛖ ᛋᛁᚾᚳᛖ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚹᛁᛏᚳᚻ ᛁ ᚱᛖᛩᚢᛖᛋᛏᛖᛞ ᚹᚫᛋ ᛟᚾᚳᛖ ᚩᚫᛗᛁᛚᚣ ᛏᛟ ᛗᛖ.” (I told the elders that I wished to hunt something large and so I asked to bring a witch with me. They allowed it saying that it was reasonable since the witch I requested was once family to me.) Ragnar said excitedly, uri looked at him, her eyes going wide for a moment.

“ᚹᚻᛖᚾ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᛏᚻᛁᛋ ᛒᛖᛳ” (When will this be?) She asked him

“ᛏᛟᚾᛁᚸᚻᛏ᛭” (Tonight!) Ragnar said with an eager smirk.

Went a little overboard with how much I wrote lol

(aw, it's so cute, they both have supportive brothers xD)
Njord Egilson - 23 - Frostbite raiders
-
The young Vikings eyes never left the sun, watching it dare to slip out of sight, burying itself away, tomorrow morning he was a dead man, absolutely fucked. Njord looked down at his bonds, he had viciously tried getting through them, trying the good old tug test, chewing them, rubbing it against the tree that trapped him. Nothing worked.
Soon the great balls of light filled the sky, glinting down at Njord with a smug smirk, as if the things dared to say 'Ha, your trapped" Njord ground his teeth together, anger riffling through him.
After 30 minutes of sitting slumped against the tree, darkness covering him like a thick blanket, cold rainy mist began to fall, soaking Njords black hair, making it stick to his skin. Unable to push his hair out the way, Njord let out a loud roar, his anger obvious, how did he get caught? How could he be so dumb? It was just a stupid boar! Just like it was a stupid little bitch... Njord growled, looks like he had nothing to lose.
A rustle beside the tree where the dragon shifter was tied made Njord flinch, he hoped it wasn't some brave Viking coming to give him a late night beating. But instead, Sixten's face appeared from the bush, a affectionate smile covering his face, his eyes filled with relief.
"Good, your still here, hm, they didn't move you inside... either way! Easier for me!" Njord looked at his goofy older brother with a frown, "your not doing what I think your doing... right?" He whispered, eyebrows bent in a hopeful frown.
"If your thinking escape, then your sure as hell right! No way and I leaving you to the wolves! That's no way to treat a younger brother of mine!" Sixten said, a fist pressed to his heart, the smiling lines around his eyes making it difficult to take him serious.
"And father?" Njord asked nervously as Sixten hacked through the bonds that held Njord tight.
"Ingvar took him out for a drink, you know... it's a coincidence" Sixten said, wiggling his eyebrows and cutting through the last of the bonds, Njord smiled and rose to his feet, but Sixten cleared the smiled off his face, his eyes turning serious, "careful now, if they catch you, they will kill you, you know that" he said, "now, go, don't use fathers name, throw off the track, no matter where you go. And visit some time!" He said, giving his younger brother a push. "Oh, there's a boat at the docks, Ingvar got it" Sixten called.
Njord stumbled forward, his eyes wide, but took off towards the docks, trying to tread quietly towards the small boat that moored at the dock. His fingers grasped at a long paddle, scratching at the rough wood. He turned and peered at where he last saw his brother, no long gone.
The Viking got into the boat and pushed off the dock, paddling through the smooth water, ripples created by his paddle. After what felt like forever, Njords muscles began to burn, his chest heaving with exhaustion. The wind around him started to speed up, slapping against his bare arms like a real hand, the smooth water churning into waves that smashed up against his boat, the sky started to ripple, turning from the balls of light to massive dark clouds, storm clouds.
"shit!" Njord cursed, there was no way he could survive a storm like this, the Viking shook his hand and gathered the paddle again, madly pushing the water behind him. A large single wave slapped against the boats left exterior, almost tipping the boat right over, thanks to Njords weight, he managed to balance.
Njord padded again, the sound of thunder surrounding him, darts of lightning cracked, striking the highest points, often water.
Beside him a wave rose, a streak of lightening brought down, connecting with the wave, then the boat. Blasting it to pieces and burning what was left, a long piece of debris flew from the capsized and burning boat, striking Njord unconscious. The uncontrollable waves taking his floating body to a unknown place...

ᚢᚱᛁᛗᛖᚾᛟᚱ- 17 - 3ᚱᛞ ᛈᛖᚱᛋᛟᚾ

(Urimenor - 17 - 3rd Person)

Urimenor walked towards the lake that her brother had arranged for the two to meet at. Thankfully, her dragon counterpart allowed her to stay awake for days on end without issues. Her pink eyes glowed in the darkness, if a light was to shine on her eyes they wouldn’t reflect yellow, instead, they would reflect pink.

Once Urimenor got there her eyes scanned the edge of the lake, looking for her brother. It didn’t take long for her to find Ragnar, as he was just on the other side of the lake. He looked to be cleaning his weapons. Her boots didn’t make a sound in the grass as she approached him. Knowing Ragnar, he probably sent his wolf out to hunt while he waited.

“ᛋᛟ ᚹᚻᚫᛏᛌᛋ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛈᛚᚫᚾᛳ” (so what’s the plan?) Uri asked Ragnar, causing him to jump and look at her bug-eyed.

“ᚹᛖ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᛒᛖ ᚸᛟᛁᚾᚸ ᛋᛟᚢᛏᚻᛧ ᛞᛟᚹᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚳᛟᚫᛋᛏ. ᚩᛁᚱᛋᛏ ᚹᛖ ᚻᚫᚡᛖ ᛏᛟ ᚳᚱᛟᛋᛋ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛟᚢᚾᛏᚫᛁᚾᛋ ᛒᚢᛏ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚡᛁᛚᛚᚫᚸᛖ ᚹᚫᚾᛏᛋ ᛏᛟ ᚴᚾᛟᚹ ᛁᚩ ᛏᚻᛖᚱᛖ ᚫᚱᛖ ᚱᛁᚳᚻᛖᚱ ᚻᚢᚾᛏᛁᚾᚸ ᚸᚱᛟᚢᚾᛞᛋ. ᛁᚩ ᛏᚻᛖᚱᛖ ᚫᚱᛖ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛖᚾ ᛗᛁᚸᚻᛏ ᛋᛏᚫᚱᛏ ᚸᛟᛁᚾᚸ ᛟᚾ ᛚᛟᚾᚸ ᚻᚢᚾᛏᛁᚾᚸ ᛏᚱᛁᛈᛋ ᛁᚾ ᚫᚾ ᚫᛏᛏᛖᛗᛈᛏ ᛏᛟ ᛈᚢᛋᚻ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛞᛖᛖᚱ ᛗᛟᚱᛖ ᛏᛟᚹᚫᚱᛞᛋ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚡᛁᛚᛚᚫᚸᛖ ᛟᚾᚳᛖ ᚫᚸᚫᛁᚾ.” (We will be going south, down the coast. First, we have to cross the mountains but the village wants to know if there are richer hunting grounds. If there are the men might start going on long hunting trips in an attempt to push the deer more towards the village once again.) Ragnar explained in a serious tone.

“ᛋᛟ ᚹᛖ ᚫᚱᛖ ᛖᛪᛈᛚᛟᚱᛁᚾᚸᛧ ᚾᛟᛏ ᚻᚢᚾᛏᛁᚾᚸᛳ” (So we are exploring, not hunting?) Urimenor said in a teasing tone, crossing her arms.

“ᛁ ᚴᚾᛖᚹ ᚣᛟᚢ ᚹᛟᚢᛚᛞ ᚹᚫᚾᛏ ᛏᛟ ᚳᛟᛗᛖ ᛖᛁᛏᚻᛖᚱ ᚹᚫᚣᛧ ᚹᛖ ᛗᛁᚸᚻᛏ ᚩᛁᚾᛞ ᛋᛟᛗᛖ ᚾᛖᚹ ᛈᛚᚫᚾᛏᛋ ᛟᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛟᛏᚻᛖᚱ ᛋᛁᛞᛖ ᛟᚩ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛟᚢᚾᛏᚫᛁᚾᛋ. ᛁ ᛟᚡᛖᚱᚻᛖᚫᚱᛞ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚡᛁᛚᛚᚫᚸᛖ ᛖᛚᛞᛖᚱᛋ ᛏᚫᛚᚴᛁᚾᚸ ᚫᛒᛟᚢᛏ ᚻᛟᚹ ᚣᛟᚢ ᚹᛁᛏᚳᚻᛖᛋ ᚻᚫᚡᛖ ᛒᛖᚾᛖ ᛋᛏᚱᚢᚸᚸᛚᛁᚾᚸ ᛏᛟ ᚩᛁᚾᛞ ᚣᛟᚢᚱ ᚻᛖᚱᛒᛋ. ᛗᚫᚣᛒᛖ ᛋᛏᚫᚱᛏᛁᚾᚸ ᚫ ᚸᚫᚱᛞᛖᚾ ᛟᚩ ᛏᚻᛖᛗ ᛟᚱ ᛒᚱᛁᚾᚸᛁᚾᚸ ᛋᛖᛖᛞᛋ ᛒᚫᚳᚴ ᚹᛟᚢᛚᛞᚾᛌᛏ ᛒᛖ ᚫ ᛒᚫᛞ ᛁᛞᛖᚫ.” (I knew you would want to come either way, we might find some new plants on the other side of the mountains. I overheard the village elders talking about how you witches have been struggling to find your herbs. Maybe starting a garden of them or bringing seeds back wouldn't be a bad idea.) Ragnar explained and Uri shrugged.

“ᚣᛟᚢ ᚻᚫᚡᛖ ᚫ ᚩᚫᛁᚱ ᛈᛟᛁᚾᛏᛧ ᛒᚢᛏ ᛚᛖᛏᛋ ᛋᛏᚫᚱᛏ ᛟᚢᚱ ᛏᚱᛖᚴᛧ ᛖᚡᛖᚱᚣ ᛗᛟᛗᛖᚾᛏ ᛁᛋ ᛈᚱᛖᚳᛁᛟᚢᛋ.” (you have a fair point, but let's start our trek, every moment is precious.) Urimenor said and the two were on their way.

When the two reached the timber-filled base of the mountain they came across a cave that both of them recognized. The cave where Ragnar got his wolf, who was still nowhere in sight, that was until Ragnar whistled.

The white wolf trotted up with fresh blood still on its maw. Uri glanced at it before looking back at the cave.

“ᚫᚱᛖ ᚣᛟᚢ ᛋᚢᚱᛖ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚹᛟᛚᚩ ᛈᚫᚳᚴ ᚻᚫᛋ ᚱᛖᛚᛟᚳᚫᛏᛖᛞ ᚫᚾᛞ ᚾᛟ ᛚᛟᚾᚸᛖᚱ ᚢᛋᛖᛋ ᛏᚻᛁᛋ ᚳᚫᚡᛖᛳ” (Are you sure the wolf pack has relocated and no longer uses this cave?) Urimenor said with a hint of unease in her voice, turning to her brother she looked him dead in the eyes but he stared forward.

“ᛈᛟᛋᛁᛏᛁᚡᛖᛧ ᛁ ᚢᛋᛖ ᛏᚻᛁᛋ ᚳᚫᚡᛖ ᛏᛟ ᚸᛟ ᛟᚾ ᛗᚣ ᛟᚹᚾ ᚻᚢᚾᛏᛋ ᛟᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛟᛏᚻᛖᚱ ᛋᛁᛞᛖ ᛟᚩ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛗᛟᚢᚾᛏᚫᛁᚾ. ᛁ ᚾᛖᚡᛖᚱ ᛏᚱᛖᚴᛖᛞ ᛏᛟᛟ ᚩᚫᚱ ᚩᚱᛟᛗ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛖᚾᛏᚱᚫᚾᚳᛖ ᛏᚻᛟᚢᚸᚻ.” (Positive, I use this cave to go on my hunts on the other side of the mountain. I never trekked too far from the entrance though.) Ragnar said it calmed Uri a little bit as Ragnar led the way inside and the two slowly made their way through the mountain. To think that the village once went over it to bring the deer back was almost unimaginable. It was tall enough to reach the clouds, but here they were, going through it, the only thing that stopped their ancestors from going through here was the stories that a dragon lived in this cave system. Of course, by now it would be dead, that was over a century ago.

The cave was dark and wet, the two made little noise as they made their way through the cave. Ragnar still leading the way through the pitch-black tunnels. Uri walked on Ragnar’s left while the wolf walked on his right. When the two came out of the cave on the other side of the mountains Uri glanced at the moon’s position.

“ᚹᛖ ᛋᛏᛁᛚᛚ ᚻᚫᚡᛖ ᚫ ᛗᛟᛗᛖᚾᛏ ᚢᚾᛏᛁᛚ ᛋᚢᚾᚱᛁᛋᛖ” (We still have a moment until sunrise). Uri said quietly to Ragnar and he nodded. The two made their way towards the coast. They walked right inside the treeline so that they still had some cover as they walked. They could see sharp rocks all along the coats for a while, jutting out of the water as far as the eye could see. It would be impossible to cross through water on anything more than a simple fisherman’s boat. The fish here would be plentiful though.

As they walked Uri occasionally would step out of the treeline to inspect something on the beach, occasionally she would see planks from wrecked boats and ships. She paused seeing something in the distance just floating amongst the sharp rocks. She looked to her brother and silently motioned that she was going to go deeper into the timber and shift the retrieve whatever she saw. Ragnar nodded before Uri went deeper into the treeline and out of sight. Suddenly overhead her large draconic form could be seen flying and landing on one of the large rocks that was protruding from the water’s surface. Her head nudged something around in the water before she jumped into the air snatched what looked like a boat and brought it to the shore. Her claw marks were in the boat’s haul as it was upside down. After she threw it down she flipped it over and then went back into the woods. She came back in her human form to find Ragnar scavenging through the little rations it had.

“ᛏᚻᛁᛋ ᛁᛋ ᚡᛖᚱᚣ ᚱᛖᚳᛖᚾᛏᛧ ᚾᛟᚾᛖ ᛟᚩ ᛏᚻᛖ ᚩᛟᛟᛞ ᛁᛋ ᛋᛈᛟᛚᛁᛖᛞ ᛟᚱ ᚱᛟᛏᛏᛖᚾ” (This is very recent, none of the food is spolied or rotten). Ragnar said, which made Uri uneasy. “ᛚᛖᛏᛌᛋ ᚳᛟᚾᛏᛁᚾᚢᛖ ᛏᛟ ᚹᚫᛚᚴ ᛁᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛏᚱᛖᛖᛚᛁᚾᛖ ᚩᛟᚱ ᚾᛟᚹᛧ ᚾᛟ ᛗᛟᚱᛖ ᛁᚾᛋᛈᛖᚳᛏᛁᚾᚸ ᛏᚻᛁᚾᚸᛋ ᛟᚾ ᛏᚻᛖ ᛒᛖᚫᚳᚻ ᚢᚾᛚᛖᛋᛋ ᚹᛖ ᛋᛖᛖ ᛋᛟᛗᛖᛏᚻᛁᚾᚸ ᚹᛖ ᚻᚫᚡᛖ ᛏᛟ ᛁᚾᚡᛖᛋᛏᛁᚸᚫᛏᛖ.” (let's continue to walk in the treeline for now, no more inspecting things on the beach unless we see something we have to investigate.) Ragnar said with a serious tone, looking Uri dead in the eyes.

“ᚫᚸᚱᛖᛖᛞ” (agreed) Uri said and the two continued to walk. As the sun rose they came up to some plains where the trees would no longer cover them. The two paused and scanned the area. That was until Uri aggressively nudged Ragnar in the side and immediately pointed towards something on the shore. Ragnar saw what she was pointing at and jogged over his axe in hand just in case. Once on the beach he quickly motioned for Uri to approach. Once she got over she saw a young man, probably around her brother’s height on the sand unmoving. Her brother quickly checked his pulse, and he silently nodded, confirming that the man was alive.

“ᚸᛖᛏ ᚫ ᚩᛁᚱᛖ ᚸᛟᛁᚾᚸᛧ ᛁ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᛚᛁᚸᚻᛏ ᛁᛏ” (Get a fire going, I will light it) Uri said as she immediately began checking the man for wounds. There was a nasty scar on his leg that surprisingly enough wasn’t bleeding all that badly but the cold water must have slowed down his blood. He probably had hypothermia so they wouldn’t be able to put him right next to the fire.

Once Ragnar built the fire Uri had her brother remove most of the man's clothes except for his shorts. The wet clothes would make it nearly impossible for him to recover. Uri’s brother set up a branch system that would block the wind as they put the man right up against it so that he would slowly warm up. Ragnar sat next to the man with his wolf as Uri Scavanged and foraged, setting up simple traps.

Uri was currently standing on some of the rocks protruding from the surface, throwing out nets she would pick up later before they returned to the village. As she looked out she could see a large herd of elk over the hill. She quickly made a bird whistle which caught her brother’s attention and put little finger horns over her head to signal deer before pointing over the hill and Ragnar nodded. The two continued what they were doing in complete silence, not wanting to spook the elk as they sat and relaxed, waiting for the man to wake up.

Once again, I will go overboard with fillers sometimes...

Njord Sigbjorn - 23 - outcast
-
The young Viking woke to what seemed to quiet shivering, a streak of heat long his side, from a source of fire close to him, the side of his head began to throb so badly that he hadn't yet noticed the siblings. Njord lifted his hand to his head and groaned, then and hand down his face, hoping to get rid of some of the sea water and sand that stuck to his face.
Njord turned and began to stand next, teeth chattering as he did. The young Viking yawned and turned towards the fire, finally realising people were there he jumped slightly. Njord worked his jaw a little before talking, "who are you?" He asked, stepping away from the two, one male and one female. The male had a big hairy wolf off to his side and the female... well she gave off violent vibes too.
Njord spotted a piece of his own boats wreckage and frowned, is that what happened to the boat? Njord shook his head, sucking in a deep breath before edging around the fire and lunging for the piece, he could use it as a club if he needed too.
Slowly Njord reached for the piece of wood, his fingers trying to grip at the wood, unsuccessfully unable to hold it. Now Njords gaze was stuck on his hands, what was wrong with his hands?
"What did you do? Why can't I pick it up!?" Njord said, whirling towards the two, untrust glazing over his eyes in rampant anger. He had just been cast out, left his family's name behind, all his hard work. And all cause that damn woman had to talk...
Njord looked over at the man, he could be a problem, but he reckoned he could win. Njord had him in at least a few pounds of muscle and a little bit more in height, thanks to his frostbite raider genes. Then his eyes shifted to the wolf, he would tear that thing apart if he needed to, if it joined the fight. The muscles in Njords legs rippled as he bent them, ready to lunge at the man and send some punches, as he started to lunge forward, he lost his balance. As if some force knocked him of his feet, he stumbled away from the small camp, looking back at the smaller man with furious eyes. His clumsy legs collapsing to the ground underneath him, still shivering.
What was wrong with him?
