Beginning Setting:
-
It is a crisp day outside, A cool breeze winding up outside as the pine trees shake ever so softly. It is chilly enough as you will have to be bundled up, the sun peaks through the clouds the slightest bit. But other than that, the wether could be described as cold. (Autumn Timing)
The students will just now be arriving, they have all picked up separately in a fancy black limousine. The emotions are high and anxiety might start to be kicking in for the students, especially the first years... The students will arrive one by one and sign in at the from desk, receiving their schedule (you have been PM'd by me), Your Horses Stall Number, Your Cabin Number, and a guide to any questions you may have, as well as the main staffs names.
-
Please notify me if you have questions!
I would like at least 300 words per post please!

Damian Letum

Arius | Male | Third Year | Mentions: (indirectly) V

Damian sighed as he exited the sleek black limousine, a subtle annoyance playing on his features. Adjusting the strap of his bag over his shoulder, he cast a glance around the Academy's entrance, his breath visible in the crisp air. "Back at it," he mused to himself, ambling towards the front desk with a sense of familiarity.

The reception was a brief exchange; the woman behind the desk recognized Damian, a nod acknowledging his return for the third and final year. After a quick scan of his schedule, he wasted no time and headed straight for his cabin. The routine was ingrained by now.

Approaching the cabin, Damian fished out his phone, contemplating whether V, his longtime friend, would be in the vicinity. A swift text was dispatched, the anticipation of catching up evident in his message. Nudging the door open to Cabin 4 with the toe of his boot, he unceremoniously tossed his bags onto the bed before making a prompt exit.

Unpacking held no allure for him at the moment; his priority was ensuring Arius, his stalwart stallion, settled into his familiar stall. Lucky 13, the same one they occupied every year. The duo's reputation preceded them at the Academy, particularly in Western reining where their prowess was a spectacle eagerly anticipated by all. As Damian made his way towards the stables, the echoes of hooves and the scent of hay signaled the beginning of another chapter at the prestigious institution.

Damian made his way across the Academy's sprawling campus, the familiar sights and sounds bringing a sense of nostalgia. The crunch of leaves beneath his boots echoed through the air, and the crisp scent of autumn(?) surrounded him. The towering trees, once vibrant with green foliage, now showcased an array of warm hues, signaling the changing season.

As he approached the stables, the familiar whinnies and nickers of horses greeted him. Damian's connection with Arius ran deep, and he couldn't help but smile at the thought of reuniting with his prized stallion. The Academy's equestrian program had been the foundation of his success, and he owed much of it to the bond he shared with the majestic animal.

Stall 13, marked by its enduring sign, stood out prominently in the row of stalls. The soft glow from the stable windows highlighted Arius' sleek coat, making him a beacon of familiarity in the sea of stalls. Damian stood outside the stall, watching the formidable stallion before glancing down at the shiny plaque. In bold letters across the top it read ' Death’s Obsession ' with 'Arius ' just below it. His fingers brushing gently over the weathered sign that bore the stallion's imposing name.

A wistful smile played on Damian's full lips as he traced the engraved letters. Picking Arius' name had been a decision made in the early days when the colt was just a young and spirited creature. Even though, the stallion is still young and spirited - if not more now. The choice, symbolic and poetic, encapsulated the essence of their journey together. The colt had seemed to dance on the edge of mortality, facing injuries time after time, yet emerging stronger each time. This resilience earned him the moniker 'Death’s Obsession.' But beneath that show-stopping name, the barn name 'Arius' held a profound meaning – Immortal. No matter how many times he brushed against the specter of death, Arius would persist, embodying the spirit of immortality. It didn’t escape Damian's notice that his last name, Letum, literally meant Death. Whether it was Damian’s personal obsession or a dance with Death itself, Arius had earned his show name.

Sliding open the stall door, Damian's fingers ran over Arius' mane, a silent exchange of understanding passing between them. The stud whickered softly, seemingly pleased to be back in familiar surroundings. For now, Damian decided to dedicate his time to Arius while the others arrived. The buckskin and white stallion had been brought in a week earlier to ease into the routine, and the separation had been palpable for Damian.

He retrieved grooming tools and set to work, the rhythmic strokes echoing through the stable. Arius stood calmly, munching on his food, a picture of tranquility. As he worked, Damian couldn't help but marvel at the variety of breeds, noting a Lippizaner and a Thoroughbred were on both sides of Arius. With each stroke of the brush, Damian immersed himself in the moment, cherishing the serenity that came with Arius' company.

Miss Colette Carrington

PF Avignon | Third Year Girl | M: Open

Colette had little desire to leave her family’s precious English estate in order to arrive at whatever hell hole her family was sending her to this time, so she arrived in a manner that was far later than what was typical for her, but still too early to be called tardy. It didn’t matter, she decided, the most important people were always fashionably late.

Fashionable she was, dressed in the colors of the season but lacking the equestrian attire necessary to look the part of an athlete, or, at the very least, an equestrian influencer of some kind. Of course, Colette did fancy herself an influencer, though she hardly needed social media to do it. Her charming personality and meek femininity surely did it for her, didn’t they?

“I don’t know what this atrocity is or how you managed to find it, but the only thing I can guarantee is that I will find a way to destroy it and take the pair of you down with it,” she’d vowed on her way out the door, self-esteem still in pieces from the lack of approval they’d given her regarding her own plan for her life. It was still something she refused to discuss with anyone, and riding on the heels of her latest romantic blunder, she had little to say to anyone that didn’t involve profanity.

As the driver her parents had sent her with pulled up to the front of the property, the young woman stifled a laugh at the concept that an institution that lacked any sense of academia could be considered a university.

“Please,” she said, partially to herself and partially to the driver, who most certainly spoke as little English as humanly possible to understand the directions the family had sent him with. “Cambridge is a university, Harvard is a university. This is a disaster waiting for me to happen to it.”

After collecting her bags and strutting down the beautifully-lined path, Colette found herself at the front of a looming building which she assumed contained the offices or other buildings of pertinence to her. Perhaps she’d play nice at first, especially to her distant relatives whom her parents had assured her would be interested in being reunited with her after so many years. However, once someone had the audacity to cross her, or she saw an opportunity to strike back, she would certainly do so. If she had to take the entire academy down with her in order to spite her family and their name, she was willing to do it.

Arriving at the front desk, Colette had a vaguely uncomfortable reunion with someone she did not even remember, followed by a barrage of information she had not cared to retain. Surely, if it was important enough to remember, it was important enough to be brought up more than once. And, if not, at least she had a significant number of papers filled with charts, schedules, and various other things she did not care to abide by.

Finding the one thing she did care about, Colette was able to manage her way around the deceivingly large campus by way of charming any staff members or returning students she came across. Eventually, she was able to find her cabin and throw her stuff down on one of the beds. She did not necessarily care for having a roommate or several, but she did not mind it, either. She had little interest in meeting people or expending useless energy on introducing herself to individuals whose names she would forget within minutes of ending the conversation, nor did she desire to begin establishing rivalries so early in the day. Surely, she would have an opportunity for all of that at a later time, when the word mandatory was placed on some boring and stuffy event that deserved to be administered with alcohol. Until then, decidedly, she’d take her own walk around the grounds, alone and unbothered.

As a result of the fact that many of the individuals seemed to be zeroing in on the stables, Colette decided that she much preferred to stick to the main path and see if she could find an obscure spot near the main driveway where she could get a clear view of the riders that were coming and going from the property. Although she initially seemed to be out of luck, a bit of wandering led her to realize that there was a garden set beside the looming building she’d initially noticed, and in the garden there were benches with a clear but fairly hidden view of the limousines that came and went. Having a seat in a location that offered her both privacy and the freedom to judge the other riders as she pleased without having to explain herself, Colette allowed her mind to wander as she awaited the arrival of the next car.

Casimir | Third Year | 18 | Mentions: Damian [find.] and open

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅

A red jeep pulled up in front of the university, and a young woman wearing sunglasses climbed out. Rose looked, ahem, lively to be here. She groans, rubbing her forehead as a migraine comes through, an exhausted sigh leaving his lips. "I partied hardied too hard last night. I'm so dead exhausted," She muttered, a yawn leaving her as she lazily walked inside the Academy's entrance. "Knowing Damian, he's probably here early. I still don't get how people are early birds." Indeed, Rose stays up late as much as possible, probably to avoid interacting with others.

Only for her to realize something that made her spin on her heels and march back to her jeep.

Rose opened the back door to the car where her bag was patiently waiting for her, and she grabbed it by the handles and then tossed it over her shoulders. "Whoops." Rose closed the door with a soft slam, going over to the side mirror on the driver's side door to check her appearance. Hmm, messy hair, black bags under the eyes, the look of dread on her face, and the slouched posture. Rose looked to be the average young adult going through the college experience. She was absolutely....perfect.

She returns to the entrance, heading straight to the reception desk to check back in for her third year, and the woman instantly remembers her. The woman behind the desk raised a brow, examining Rose thoroughly before commenting, "You look eager to be here." There was a bit of sarcasm in her tone, but Rose wasn't offended, as she merely shrugged. "Indeed, I do. I'm jumping for joy. Can't you see that I'm smiling?" The receptionist and Rose had a staring contest, with Rose's face in bitch-resting mode. There was a brief silence between them until the woman spoke again. "Yes. I do. Anyways," she hands Rose a sheet of paper, "here's your schedule. Welcome back."

Rose nodded her head in thanks before heading to Cabin 3 as her eyes briefly scanned her schedule for the school year, raising a brow at her classes but did not comment. She folds the slip of paper into the back pocket of her pants, only for the other back pocket to vibrate as she receives a notification. Rose pulled out her phone, noticing it was a text from Damian. Her eyelids narrowed as he said that he wanted to catch up, and her lips thin - knowing she would have to endure Damian's teasing if she did. As she thinks of an answer, she opens the door with her free hand, stepping into the cabin, and claims one of the bigger rooms for herself. Rose dropped her belongings on the twin-sized bed, as she finds unpacking tedious at the moment, before leaving the building without bothering to speak with her cabinmates.

Rose stretches as she walks the familiar trails of the schools, heading straight to the stables to see her favorite living creature. Casimir. Her precious horse - albeit a Devil to others. True, Casi was aggressive to others, but for Rose, he's one loveable stallion that wants her constant attention. Sometimes, he's nice to Damian, but that's when he's in a good mood, which is rare. He can be a menace to society and kick at people, yet that won't make Rose lose any love for the firey horse. Instead, it only makes her love him more, adoring his loyalty and the affection reserved for her. Casimir is one big sweetheart to her, yet a monster to everyone else. Man, just thinking about it brings a tear to her eye.

As she grew near the stables, she could hear the whinnies, nickers, and snorts of horses inside. She could tell they were eager to reunite with their riders once more. A bond between an owner and a horse is an experience many didn't get to have, and Rose is grateful that she gets to live it. Rose strolls inside, using her fingers to fix her hair to make herself more presentable. However, she looked messier than before, so she gave up and brought her hands to her side in silent defeat. Meh, she tried. Her eyes went to the horses in the stalls, inspecting each one as she admired the variety of colors each horse presented. Finally, her dark eyes landed on a stallion of black and white, a small yet warm smile appearing on her face.

"There's my Angel," She cooed in a maternal tone and stepped inside the stall to spend time with the horse she was separated from. Her hand gently cups the horse's snout, her fingers tracing the glossy coat around Casimir's mouth. Her stallion, known for his hostile behavior, lowered his hand to absorb the attention he was receiving, his ears pushed forward as his breathing was even on both sides while his tail swung freely and loosely. The soft look in his black eyes, the slightly hanging jaw which grew weak with each stroke Rose gave him. Casimir was relaxed - in a tranquil state from the tenderness she was giving him.

Casimir, which means destroyer of peace. It fits him perfectly when he's around others, but around Rose, that name doesn't match him at all. Right now, he was gentle and sweet, with no sense of hostility in his actions and anger in his emotions. The only thing Rose could feel from him was a sense of longing - Casimir missed her, and his behavior showed it perfectly. "Good boy," She praised as she gave his cheek a couple of pats, chuckling as he bobbed his head and pawed at the ground. A soft snort left his squishy nostrils. "I bet you were waiting impatiently for me to groom you, eh?" When he heard the word groom, his head bobbed up and down, apparently agreeing with what Rose was saying.

She smirks before grabbing her grooming kit from outside his stall, using a curry comb to tackle his mane and tail to get rid of the matting. Her hand movements were skilled with each stroke while her perspective eyes took in the hairs to locate any knots in Casimir's hair. Rose was quiet as she worked on tidying up her horse for the day, wanting to do it quickly yet efficiently before classes started for today.

Olivia Hendricks

Wren | F | Second Year | 17 | Mentions- everyone (ind)
-
Olivia stepped out of the black limo, dragging her bags with her. She swung her backpack over one shoulder and tugged her suitcase out of the car. She gazed around in awe of her surroundings. This place never failed to amaze her, even if she had been here only the year before. She closed the door of the limo and made her way to the academy's entrance. She quickly grabbed her schedule, quickly glancing over it, and her key. The lady at the desk didn't seem to recognize her, but she wasn't surprised. She tried to keep a low profile last year, mainly because her nerves got the best of her.
-
She entered her cabin. it seemed no one had claimed any of the beds yet, so she threw her stuff down on the nearest one. The cabin was nice and spacious, cozy. She unpacked her things, which took longer than she expected. She threw her jeans, shirts, and sweaters in some drawers, along with a few pairs of breeches and English riding clothes that she had purchased specially for the academy. That was just the easy stuff. She pulled out a picture of her dad, her two brothers, and herself and set it on the small nightstand next to her bed with a small smile.
-
She then tackled all of the art supplies she brought. Olivia loved art, thats all she did when she wasn't riding. She brought her pencils, inking pens, colored penciles, erasers, sketchbooks, and all sorts of other art supplies. She brought small little bags which looked like enlarged fanny packs without the straps for her stuff and stuffed as much of it in the bags as she could and shoved it under her bed, along with her suitcase and backpack. When she finished she sat on her bed with a sigh, admiring her work. Everything was a bit messy, but that's how almost all of her stuff was. She struggled to keep her room looking nice back at her home. Then she remmebered she forgot something from her bag. She quickly tugged her backpack out from underneath her bed and unzipped a small pocket. From it she pulled out a small picture, smaller than the palm of her hand. It was a picture of her mother, the last time she saw her about 10 years ago. When Olivia was about 7, her parents split up. Her youngest brother, Henry, was only 4 at the time, and her older brother, Lukas, was 13. Their mother never really tried to have a good relationship with any of her kids, which is why all three of them stayed with their dad. A few weeks later, she packed up and moved to who knows where. Olivia hadn't seen or heard from her mother since, and she never asked about her, since it was a pretty sore subject for her father. She would often ask Lukas about her, since he was around long enough to know her better than she did, but she eventually stopped, she didn't want to learn about her if she was never going to see her again. She never had a deep coneticion with her mother, but that didn't stop her form missing her. She tucked the picture in the drawer of the nightstand, all the way in the back.
-
Once she had officially unpacked all of her stuff, she made her way down to the barn. Wren's stall was stall 4, if she remmebered correctly. There were a few other students in the barn, but she paid them no attention, as her main goal was finding her beloved horse. When she finally saw a spotted face gazing at her from over a stall door, she nearly screamed in excitement. She hurried over to Wren's stall and unlatched it, slipping inside. Wren immediatly buried her nose into Olivia's arms. Olivia chuckled and stroked Wren's velvety soft nose. Olivia checked her grain bucket and water. Her grain was empty and the water about 3/4 full. Her hay net was about half full. Well at least she's been eating. Olivia thought, grabbing the grooming box outside of Wren's stall. She groomed Wren's spotted coat until it shined, trying to occupy herself until she met her roommates.

Arabella Jenkins | F | 15 | 1st year | Royal Cloud | M: Veronique, Colette, Damian, Olivia (All ind), Open!
-
Arabella already felt out of place, which was saying a lot as she had just arrived at the campus. From what she was seeing she was one of the first 1st years to arrive. She looked around the area. It seemed like mainly third years had arrived so far. Arabella was honestly in awe of how much they seemed to fit in. She knew that she was at least a little out of place with how she had grown up in her family's rehabilitation stables. It was how she had gotten her horse, after all.
Arabella decided to follow the few people who had arrived in the direction of the reception. It would hopefully be the best place to start. She waited as the others got their room numbers. The receptionist seemed to recognise some of them from the previous years.
Arabella greeted the receptionist respectfully. She got her room number and the stall number that Royal Cloud was in. "Thank you." She said before walking away.
-
Arabella eventually arrived at her room. She noticed that neither bed was claimed so she just put her stuff by the bed on the left hand side. She sat down for a minute with a sigh, reflecting on the journey. She had been worried sick for Cloudy. The mare didn't do well with large changes. Arabella decided that it would be best to find Cloudy and make sure that she was doing okay before anything else.
-
A good while later and Arabella was now lost. She had been wandering around the large boarding school while trying to make sense of the signs and maps. She arrived back near the enterance for about the tenth time, sighing with frustration.
"Seriously... What am I even doing wrong?" Arabella mumbled to herself, glancing around.

Maeve Lundemburg | F | 19 | Jokers Playing Card | M: Everyone (ind), Open For Socialization!
-
The elegant black limousine had been parked outside the young woman's home before she had finally entered after a couple fifteen minutes. The driver had been the same that had driven her the year before, she was excited to see him again, and he was as well. The man had loaded her suitcases and essentials into the back before hopping back into the car and checking on Maeve. The girl was completely content, beyond excited, and happily snacking on the small pastries and treats the Universities cooks has set up before the drivers arrival to each of the students preferred pick-up spots.
-
Maeve had and was still shocked that she had been accepted back into Penbrooke University, the girl had spent most of her life working her way up the line to meet just the possible hopes of being accepted. One day she had the marvelous idea of sending them a request letter with all of her information and experience info, and she had gotten in! Her...she had been one of the few handpicked to join the University again this year, how exciting! The drive, like most years was long. Exactly two hours she was in the car, from early in the morning (8:30 exactly), to about the expected lunch time was Maeve in that car, just looking outside the window and doodling as a past time. But finally... The car stopped.
-
The door was opened for the young woman and she exited the car with a smile, her eyes widening slightly at the appearance of the school grounds. It hadn't changed much, maybe a few different flower pots and, oh! It looked to her that maybe a horse walker had been added in? How wonderful, the staff here thought so carefully about the needs of the horses and their safety, it was absolutely amazing really. Maeve made sure to bring out her black purse and drawing pad when she left, giving the driver a "Thank You!" before taking off towards the front desk. As every year, she didn't need to worry about taking her belongings to her assigned bunk house, as the driver and other workers would be doing their job.
-
Maeve made it swiftly to the front desk, the lady at the desk looked up with a smile. "Its nice to see you again Ms.Lundemburg. Oh, here you are. Your schedule is on here, as well as your horses assigned stall, and your dorm cabin number. There's also a map on the back, but I doubt you will as you've been here two times before." The older lady handed Maeve the slip of paper and the younger lady gave her a warm smile. "Thank you, its good to see you again as well." She spoke softly and walked out of the building. There looked to be a few other students, A couple new faces, as well as some faces she'd seen in past years. She then headed to the stables, excited to see the horse she was lucky enough to call her own...goodness, A few days of not seeing him felt like forever!
-
The young woman entered the stables, horses whinnied and moved restlessly in their stalls. She had gone down a bit, looking to see if she could spot Jax on her own without taking a look at the Key on the form she had been given. After a while of searching Maybe let out a huff, pulling out the sheet from her back pocket and reading the stall number. Are you serious...? How didn't she see him before- Jax had stall number 1! The first in the entire stables, great, she had already lost her memory onto where every stall was. Maeve made her way to the front, bouncing in slight excitement as she came up to Jax's presumed stall.
-
A smile formed on her face as a dark muzzle poked out of the bars to sniff around, her hand reached out and rubbed it gently, turning her head so she could see him. "Hey handsome!" She laughed quietly, opening the latch on the stall and sliding in. Her hand traced the Geldings long neck and patted his shoulder. His head turned around and nudged Maeve, causing her to giggle. "I missed you too buddy." She laid herself across his back with a smile, patting his belly.

...
A yawn escaped her as she climbed into the sleak black vehicle, having spent the previous night too anxious to sleep much Alyssa was much looking forward to napping on the long car ride.
.
A gentle tap to her shoulder jarred her from slumber, blinking wearly she glanced at the driver who'd been trying to inform her of their arrival at the school grounds. Scrambling to her feet she pulled her blue jacket tighter against the chill, admiring the school she'd come to love so much. Pausing briefly as she glanced down at the letter cluched in her hand, Alyssa took a breath to calm herself. She gave a wave to the driver as she set off towards the main office to check in, knowing her bags had been picked up already.
.
However her gaze landed on a shorter girl off to the side, looking clearly lost and confused. Alyssa chuckled to herself, the girl was likely a first year who'd gotten herself lost. Deciding it would be good to make some friends early she changed her direction and approached the girl. "Hey! You're a first year right? I'm Alyssa, a second year. Do you need some help finding something?" Her voice gentle as she spoke, giving the girl a smile. Glancing towards the office she hesitated for a moment considering what to do.
.
"I need to check in real quick, and drop my bag off at the cabin. But I can help you find your way after that" she smiled brightly, motioning for the girl to follow her. Walking briskly to the front desk Alyssa exchanged a brief greeting with the woman who recognised her, once she'd gotten her schedule and keys she made her way along the paths to the cabins. Pausing as she scanned the numbers till she found number 2, pushing the door open she paused seeing that at least one of her roomates had already arrived. Shaking her head she set her backpack onto the bed in the back, it would be easier for her to settle in if she had some space to herself.
.
Pausing briefly to pull her paddock boots from their bag beside the bed, Alyssa walked back out. Nodding her head she set off towards the stables, "next on the agenda..the barn!" Easily finding her way, she was welcomed by the familiar scents and sounds of the large stables. A smile crept it's way across her face as she wandered down the isle, her green gaze locking onto the turquise halter hanging beside a grey mare's stall. Racing over she leaned on the door gently calling to the equine within, Prim lifting her head and letting out a soft nicker as she moved over to greet her. "Miss me sweetie" Alyssa cooed softly, patting the large mare's neck. Glancing to the side she noticed a familiar face grooming their own horse in the stall beside hers, smiling as she waved to the girl. "Olivia, hey!" Alyssa called out to her, the girl was another second year who'd likely be sharing the cabin together.

Blake Bosch | M | 18 | Secret Agent | M: Open

Blake ran a finger down the velvet on the inside of the door of the sleek limousine that he was currently riding in. He had his head rested again the back of the seat. His black hair was slicked back, many finger streaks running through it. He made eye contact with the driver, a deep glare on his face as he watched him. There hadn't been a single word uttered between the two in the past half hour. Blake was well shaven, his tall, black boots well polished, as well as the watch on his right arm, the arms ticking away, reminding him that this ride was just keeping him from being with his horse. He'd had a restless night, worrying about his dear horse. Had he colicked? Gotten himself cast? Given the hander a hard time? He knew first hand how pushy the large beast could be. Did he get the correct breakfast with the pellets soaked long enough? He sighed and closed his eyes, not too much longer.

They pulled up to the grounds, and Blake was out of the car before it was done moving. It got an alarmed scream from the driver, but Bosch just gave him a wave before he headed off towards the office. He looked around, not much had changed since last year. The chorus from the barn was like music to his ears as the horses sang the songs of their people. He was more than ready to go and see Classified again, and more than that, he was itching to go for a ride. He stopped outside of the office, checking to see if he was at the right building. Yep, this was it.

Blake finished checking in, and decided to head to his cabin first. He opened the door, startled to see that he was either the first one there, or the only one there. A smirk on his face as he rustled through his bags to make sure that everything was there. Satisfied, he decided it was long over due to go and say hello to his little friend. He walked down the breezeway, noting the people who were saying hi to their steeds. Stall 7... Blake stopped outside of it, a huge smile on his face. "Hey Classy!" The light bay horse lifted his head from the hay that he was eating, letting out an excited nicker.

Blake entered his stall, his hand running through the horses mane. Classy needed a hair cut... "Hmm." He thought to himself. He could do it as soon as he found his brush bag that contained his things. He went behind the large gelding, patting him on both sides of his rump as he did so, to the other side. Classified lifted his head to look at his, wondering what his human was doing. Blake slid down next to the hay, one leg stretched out infront of him as he leaned against the stall wall. The horse blew out and started to ruffle Bosch's hair. He giggled, and gently moved his face way, only for it to be right back at it again. Blake stood up, looking around. He didn't know anyone here.. It wasn't much of a bummer. He grabbed a bit of the horses black mane in his hand, and swung himself up and over, having to haul himself the rest of the way since it was quite the long way to jump. He leaned against the bay's neck, and patted both sides. He'd missed the view behind those ears.
