Perseverance
Famine, droughts, and disease can be devastating, and no one knows this more than two packs: The Night Shade Pack and The River Ash Pack. Two powerful packs who had been thriving were brought down by mother nature herself, much of their wolves falling victim to her perilous treatment. All hoped seemed lost until they two packs decided to do something they never thought they would. They left their homes. Seeking out a place where they could once more settle in and not only survive, but thrive.
And the packs have found just that. A luscious, blooming little piece of territory that has miraculously remained unclaimed. However, there are two packs, and one open territory, and both packs want it for their own. Not out of malice for the other necessarily, but just sheer survival. Tempers flare, teeth are bared, and while the two have never been amicable neighbors, they at least tolerated each other. Now? No, now they are fierce enemies, trying to cling to what little hope they have left.
At war, the packs must decide what to do. Will they fight for the territory, and perhaps doom the other to fade from existence? Or will they find a way to come together so that both of their packs may survive? Only time can tell.
__________
I could add a Third Pack if needed, if there's a demand and not enough spots. It could be worked in. Ex: A pack neighboring the unclaimed territory desires it for itself, and with the two packs closing in on it, now, they believe, is the time to strike.
___________
This is a roleplay loosely based off of a couple of different old Rps I've made in the past, both here and on HEE, one of which it is actually named for. Wolf Roleplays is something I have always greatly enjoyed and even learned on, so I'm ecstatic to actually be able to create one of my own.
We gonna try this one more time.

Rules for the Roleplay Obviously, follow all of WP and Eve's Rules. 1. Max of 4 Characters 2. Be Active; 3 Posts a Week Minimum. If you fall inactive for a week, your wolves will be killed off. 3. This is a Semi-Literate Rp, so 5+ Sentences per post required. 4. Absolutely NO One-Liners. 5. No God-Modding, Powerplaying, Perfect Characters, Etc. 6. No Love at First Sight or Being Mates with you own Characters. Crushes and Pre-Established Mates are allowed, but for becoming mates, roleplay it out. You shouldn't be mates after one day. 7. I'm okay with having additional side characters to your main if they are planned to be killed off. Ask first though please. 8. There will likely be NPC wolves in the Rp who's sole purpose is to get killed off and further the plot. I am okay if your wolves having NPC mates IF they get killed off shortly after. Again, though, ask first. 9. If you've read everything, put whether I should add a third pack to the Other section of your form. 10. You may only have One high ranked wolf at this time when starting out. Which includes Alphas, Betas, and Deltas. If a wolf is promoted to a higher rank through roleplay, it's fine to have more than one. This is subject to change. 11. For the purpose of this rp, I don't want any orphan pups. They must have a parent, blood or adopted.
For Reservations, I do accept them, but they must be completed within 72 hours or they will be taken down. You can still create your wolf even after the reservation is taken down, but if someone comes in and creates a wolf for that rank before you do and it's accepted, then they'll receive the position.

About the Packs
The Night Shade Pack The Night Shade Pack was one of the first packs to be afflicted with the trifecta of mother nature's wrath. They were one of the oldest and strongest packs in their original area, and fought the hardest to survive before they chose to leave. Night Shade was more heavily affected by disease caused by famine and unhealthy prey. They were least affected by the drought for the longer than most packs, because they had such large water sources like a lake and river. Leaving was not a decision they took lightly, but their Alpha chose to in order to save his pack.
The Night Shade pack is a little harsher, not necessarily cruel, but they are more wary about strangers and change than other packs. They're closer knit, and not overly accepting of rogues, even more so now that the pack has been shaken and reduced greatly from the whole ordeal. Naturally, the older pack and it's strength drew the attention of the larger, stronger wolves. So they're made up of wolves who are primarily known for their strength. Of course, though, every wolf is different and not all wolves will fit that bill.
The River Ash Pack The River Ash Pack was a newer pack in the same area that the Night Shade pack is from. They had just established a territory when mother nature struck. They were greatly affected by the drought first, not having abundant water sources. The lack of water drove prey off, leaving wolves to prey on weaker, sicker animals that could leave. This let disease into the ranks, like it did the Night Shade pack. Leaving, for this pack, was much easier, as they had roamed for quite some time prior to establishing their territory. It was an easy decision once sickness had set in.
The River Ash Pack is a more open and friendly pack, though mostly from the fact that majority of them used to be rogues. They're a little more wary now, since they're weakened from dealing with the drought and everything. The River Ash Pack is known for being more fast and agile wolves, much of that coming from their days when they were a more nomadic pack. Of course, they are by no means weak, and, like mentioned above, not every wolf is going to be the same or anything.
About the Ranks
Alpha Male & Female These are the leading pairs of the pack, the two who are in charge and make the decisions. Their word is law, and to defy them would be an act much like treason. They, typically, are some of the strongest wolves in the pack. They are always mates, but if one passes, the other remains in power. They can rule alone or find another mate. For the purpose of this rp, they can't be challenged unless approved by me. (Mostly if it furthers the Rp or is Planned ahead of time.)
Betas These are the second in command, and can be either male or female. There is only one in each pack. They ensure that all the Alphas orders are secure, and enforced, along with punishments. They are the wolves who are most trusted by the alphas. This position CAN be challenged for, however, it must be approved by the Alphas. This is because the Second IS the most trusted wolf to the Alpha. Can't have a second who they don't trust. A Beta may be reassigned whenever a new Alpha takes over though.
Deltas Like the Betas, there is only one in the pack at a given time. They are, in essence, the third in command. They are usually the opposite gender of the Beta to ensure balance, but not always. Their main purpose is to be the next Beta, so think of them as Beta Apprentices almost, the wolf who would take their place if something happened. Typically, the delta is a wolf chosen by the Beta and the Alphas, a wolf who is competent and trusted by the them. This position cannot be challenged for that reason, unless approved by the wolves above them. Obviously, like the Beta, if there's a new Alpha that takes over, the rank of Delta can be reassigned.
Subordinates These are all the adult wolves beneath the top three ranks. They are the hunters, warrior, scouts, etc. They make up the primary force of the pack. There will be wolves of all difference dominance in this grouping, and it's not unlikely to see some of them take on more responsibility as others. All wolves over 1 year are in this group, male and female alike.
Pups These are just all the wolves who are below the age of 1 year. As they get closer to transitioning into being Subordinates, the more trained they'll become.
Omegas These are the lowest ranked wolves, even below the pups. This is not a glorious position to have in the slightest. They are, by every means, pretty much the punching bag of the pack. They're the weakest wolves or the least trusted. If a Subordinate or any wolf is out of line enough, or disobeys the leaders, they'll be demoted to omega. Sometimes, though, wolves will be cast out before reaching this rank. There is a Max of 2 in the pack at a time. When a new wolf is considered to be an Omega, if there is already two, one of the current ones will either be kicked out or moved back to subordinate.
Nomad These are the lone wolves. The males and females who aren't apart of either pack. They may have become lone wolves willingly, or they may have been forced to become nomads. Sometimes referred to as rogues, nomadics, or dispersal wolves. Some of these wolves won't be doing well, some of them might be doing better than pack wolves because they aren't tied down to one place. (Not all can be in pristine health though.)

Secret Ranks
Spy - Traitor This is the rank, singular rank, that is up for grabs. One of the packs has sent one of their own wolves into the other pack as a spy. Their mission is to report back to the other pack so they can exploit weaknesses, etc. If you desire to have this rank, pm me and the Alpha of that Pack the spy will be originating from. The Spy Does Not have to remain loyal to the pack they are from.
The Infected This is the wolf in one of the packs that is harboring the disease from their original pack. Currently they are asymtomatic, however, they could change. This wolf is basically a ticking time bomb, as it is only a matter of time before they start getting others sick. Eventually, this wolf will too. And they will likely die.
The Refugee This will be the wolf that flees from another pack to the one of the ones in the rp to seek out sanctuary among them. For whatever reason, this wolf no longer felt safe in their previous pack. The pack they have run to have agreed to help the frightened wolf. If you desire to take this rank, you must Pm and the Alpha of the Pack your wolf is running to. Plus, you must come up with a reasonable story as to why and get it pre-approved by me.
The Rebel This is the wolf that desires to unite and takeover both packs for their own. They will likely act as a pacifist to get the packs to conjoin, however, their true intentions are power. They are building up a following of wolves, and will continue to do so until the time is right to take over. This character must be a truly antagonistic character at heart, even if they don't always act like it. So NO Character Arcs.
If you desire your wolf to be ANY of these roles, you must first ask me. You may choose to advertise this secret rank in your character's form, or, if you'd wish, you can also keep it a secret.
*Ranks that appear like this "InsertRankHere" have been taken.

╔════▣◎▣════╗ R U N E ╚════▣◎▣════╝ Name:Rune Age:Five Years Gender:Male Pack:Night Shade Rank:Alpha Male Desired Rank:Content Personality:Rune is a male with a notorious reputation for being aggression, harsh, and critical to all those he comes across. Callous and stern, there is very few things in the world that please the male, though violence seems to definitely be one of them. He has high expectations for his pack, and doesn't really tolerate anything short of excellence; failure is never an option. Like failure, Rune doesn't tolerate weakness either, and won't allow it to remain in his pack. If he sees it, he will discipline it out of the wolf, or they will simply be removed all together. He isn't one to really care about the opinions or feelings of others, and if he happens to offend them it isn't something the male will lose sleep over.
Having a reputation for being volatile, Rune isn't one to tolerate challengers, and if one dares to try and over throw him, they best kill him, or he will kill them. He has absolutely no qualms with killing another wolf, or throwing his weight around so things go his way. If he wants something, there is very little than can stand in his way to keep him from it.
Rune is also incredibly hard on his pack, keeping them held to high expectations, and not tolerating anything less. However, do not mistake that for him being entirely heartless, the male does care about his pack, and most of what he does he believes it to be for the well being of his pack. He wants what is best for them, albeit sometimes a bit twisted, but he does care for them, and is quite a dedicated Alpha when it comes down to it. Of course, Rune also does things that benefit himself, and while he tries to align them with what is best for the pack, it doesn't always turn out that way. Still, he is a ruthless and cold male, and it's best not to get in his way. Ever.
Beneath his cold and seemingly inpenetrable exterior, is a slightly softer wolf. He is capable of showing kindness, and should he ever have a mate, or someone he is fond of, or pups, they would be the few who would ever see that side of him. Rune is a protective male, and would likely do anything to ensure the safety of his loved ones, and would likely verge on over protective at the same time. Would his more volatile personality show at times with them? Sure, but it wouldn't be with the same degree a stranger might receive. Appearance: Credit Belongs to Landkeks-Stock on DA. Stock Image.
Rune is a notably large wolf, colossal in comparison to some wolves. He stands at a sturdy 35 inches tall, and easily weighs in somewhere above 160 lbs (his stats are based of a Mackenzie River Wolf). He is a solidly built male, heavily muscled and geared for power and strength. He won't be winning any races, though he does have endurance, but when it comes to fighting the male is a formidable opponent because of his strength and size. Between his coat color and his sheer size, Rune is definitely a male who will catch the attention of others when he walks into view, and he likes it that way.
Personality aside, Rune could be considered an attractive male in appearance, especially if you ignore his scars. With a coat that is a medley of black, white, and shades of tan and grey, he has a coat of striking appearance. His agouti and white fur, a combination that is a bit contrasting in color, is quite thick, and not incredibly soft to the touch. Dense and coarse, his fur is a protection against the elements as well as against an opponent's teeth. Due to his dense coat, the male often looks larger than he already is, though that tames out a bit during the summer months when his coat thins a bit. His eyes are a pair of bright gold orbs, topaz in color and resembling something like a pair of living flames. His scent is something musky and spicy, and is quite strong without being overpowering.
Scar wise, there isn't much to say except that the male is covered in them. There are none that are overly distinguished than the others, in fact, it's more so the sheer volume of them that is impressive rather than a sole scar that is eye catching. His thick coat does a good job of hiding them, but close up they are still easily seen, and felt. Crush:Maybe Mate:None Pups:None Other:
