Hades sat alone on his large throne inside his impressive great hall. His thin lips were pursed together, as he sat there quietly in thought. Like many of the dead he was a little on the pale side. The dead were no fit companions, and his servants feared him. Nobody was a suitable companion. His brothers considered him gloomy and socially awkward, so he wasn’t welcome in the above world. Sometimes, when he became tired of taking care of his dull kingdom, he would go visit the above world and Mount Olympus.

While the bright colors were refreshing, and seeing alive things was nice, the other gods, including his brothers, always tried to avoid him or get rid of him, which hurt his feelings. They weren’t very subtle about it either, so he would quickly become tired of that. One time when he was in the above world, one girl stood out to him. She had bright eyes, and a cheerful smile. Wherever she went grains and new vegetation popped up. It was a nice refreshing sight that renewed his mind and heart, when he saw her.

He had never tried to talk to her before, but he decided that he would the next time he wanted to visit. She was young enough where she might not try to chase him off like the other gods. After all, his dark foreboding figure might discourage disrespect. She might even speak to him for a while, and ease his loneliness. When he arose, his well muscled body became slightly exposed, when his clothing moved. Carefully, he adjusted it, as he walked off toward the gardens.

He drew his slender fingers through his thick dark brown bedraggled hair. It reminded him that he wanted to look a little nicer than he did now before he went visiting. As he strode through his house, he observed many of his guests walking around. It was quite filled and busy, but today he decided to ignore most of them. It annoyed him that he spent most of his time making sure that no one stole his guests or that they didn’t escape. He preferred to ignore people and remain distant from them, because they frustrated him.

However, he was very quick to put an end to any nonsense that he encountered. When he reached his room, he set to work. It was about time he visited the above world. He put on his nicer clothing, and he arranged his messy hair, so that it looked neat. He arranged his beard, so that it looked nice. After a while, he decided that he was presentable. He realized that the underworld might be a nicer place, if he had a wife. He had been king down here for long enough. It was about time he brought someone to live here.

Perhaps he would ask his younger brother Zeus, the king of the gods, if there was one he could marry. As he looked around his kingdom, he wondered why they would want to leave it. While no one wanted to be brought to the underworld early, it was the final destination for human souls. They didn’t want to be stranded above, because they would never find rest. According to Hades’ justice some people were judged. If they were good they went to the Elysian Fields. If they were bad they were sent further on to Tartarus. If they had been despicable, they were punished and tormented.

While Hades didn’t go out of his way to bring mortals here, he wasn’t a kind god. After one last quick walk to make sure that everything was in its place, he headed toward the exit and up toward the overworld. He pet his three headed dog Cerberus as he passed by. He inclined his head respectfully to Charron as he was ferried across the water. Once he was above, he gazed around taking in the above world. Sometimes he found it refreshing. It was nice to see things that weren’t so grim.

Other times it reminded him that he didn’t belong here. If he had to deal with mortals, it reminded him how rude and annoying they were, which never put him in a good mood. While he wasn’t sure where the girl would be, he thought it would be a pretty good guess to go where the vegetation was flourishing. When he started coming closer, he decided to wait until she was alone. After all of her attendants and her mother left her, he approached her. He was a dark grim figure, and he hoped that she wouldn’t run. His lips curled upwards slightly trying to give her an encouraging smile. It might have only looked like a grimace.

“Hello Persephone,” he greeted her with his deep voice.

Persephone ran a hand through her beach wave blonde hair, a sigh leaving her lips. She has been trying to convince her mother to bring her to Mount Olympus for days now. She hasn't even budged an inch or lift a finger up to say yes. She doesn't understand why, especially since her mother never seems to really give her an answer that she desires to make her feel satisfied. It is like her mother is afraid that someone is going to whisk her away from her and she will never return or visit her again. She tells her mother repeatedly that it will never happen, but it is like she doesn't turn an ear when she tries to reason with her.

From what she has heard from her attendants, Mount Olympus is beautiful. They say it is like they are part of a kingdom, which it kind of is. They say it shines like it is made out of jewels, which she wouldn't be surprised if it was. There are other Gods and Goddesses there that she wants to meet. Yet, her mother doesn't want her to go up there. If she could find a way to perhaps go and visit the lavish city, she might just go do it. Even though she loves Earth and providing vegetation and grains for humans with every fiber of her body, she would like to have a change of scenery. Sure, her mother moves everyone from time to time to different parts on the Earth, but she is sure it is nothing compared to Mount Olympus.

She flickered her sky blue eyes towards the farms of new grain and vegetation growing in many different fields. A smile appeared on her lips, knowing that the farmers are going to enjoy their crops this year. She pulled the bottom of her sunflower sundress up to prevent it from dragging on the ground as she descended the steps of the porch. She glanced around at everything, nodding her head politely or greeting the attendants as she passed by them. She is sure they are keeping an eye on her since her mother can't. Her mother is actually up in Mount Olympus due to having to take care of something. She didn't tell her what it was and she wanted to know. Why her mother didn't take her up there on a great opportunity such as that is beyond her comprehension. If she were in her mother's and her mother in her shoes, she wouldn't hesitate to bring her with her up to the bright and glittering place. Of course, her mother has her reasons and she is sure it is the ones that she hasn't told her yet.

Just before she could get to the fields of wildflowers, she stopped on a hill at seeing her mother coming towards her. Her smile seemed to stretch even more the nearer the Goddess approached her. Once she was close enough, her hand dropped from her sundress as she pulled her mother into her arms. She breathed in her scent, letting the scent of the current season, Spring, fill her senses. She pulled away, glancing over her mother for any injuries as if she went off to war. She always does this as she hates when she sees her mother in pain whether it is physical or mental.

"I am glad that you are finally home." She said as her hand slid from her arm down to her hand. She grasped it, pulling her mother with her as they slowly walked towards the wildflower fields. "How was the trip? Did everything turn out okay?" She asked, knowing she can't ask too many questions as her mother will only shut her down. Her mother let a soft laugh leave her lips, knowing how curious she is about Mount Olympus. "Everything went smoothly. There were no hiccups." She replied as she slipped her hand out of Persephone's hand after pulling her to a stop. She turned towards her and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "I am going to have a look around to make sure the crops are doing well. I will bring the attendants with since I know you like to be alone when you come here." She said as she gently brushed the back of her hand against her cheek. "Thank you, mother. Yes, I will be safe."

She bided her mother a farewell before she turned her attention back onto the field of wildflowers. She picked up her dress again, not wanting to soil it. Her fingertips gently ran over the tops of the flowers, her smile never leaving her lips. She bent down slightly as she picked a white flower from the field, putting it in her hair over her ear. She might just have to make a flower crown just for the fun of it.

At the sound of someone greeting her from behind, she whirled around as her hand went to her chest over her heart. To say she was startled is far from what she is feeling. She felt like she had a heart attack as she thought she was alone out in this field. Apparently not. She glanced at the figure standing near her, a smile once again appearing on her lips. Even though she hasn't been to Mount Olympus, let alone the Underworld, her mother has told her about all the Gods and Goddesses. She only assumed that this is Hades with the dark grim figure he has. That didn't scare her though. At seeing what seemed to be a grimace on his lips, he couldn't help but let a soft laugh leave her lips. She knew he is probably trying to smile but isn't used to doing such a thing.

"Hello, Hades." She greeted back in her silky smooth voice.

She whirled around surprised, and he tensed himself waiting for some maidenly scream or for her to flee. It was understandable that a mortal would run away from him, but she was an immortal goddess. She shouldn't have anything to fear. Her hand went over her heart, but she didn't make any loud noises or try to leave. He regretted how he had introduced himself to her. It wasn't his intention to be scary and intimidating. However, he didn't know how to be warm and inviting either.

He wasn't sure what the best way to do this was. She softly laughed at him after she recovered from her shock. He stared at her, and he felt his jaw unconsiously slacken. A goddess lower than himself had dared to laugh at Hades. The only goddesses he could imagine being bold enough would be Aphrodite or Hera. Nobody was ever sharp with Aphrodite, and Hera was the queen of the gods. He calmed himself reminding himself that he didn't want to scare her. He was trying to win her over, and not frighten her away.

It was a good thing that he had been able to make her laugh. He hardly ever smiled. He wasn't that upbeat of a god anyway. However, since he had become the god of the underworld it was looked down upon for him to smile. Everyone expected him to be solemn and grim. They expected him to be a frightening spector, when he took them to his house. They always talked about how he was wealthy and had many things, yet his house felt empty and lonely. He had a sinking feeling that he must look silly, if she dared to laugh at him.

Hadn't her mother taught her any manners? He realized from the flowers that surrounded her, that he should have brought her some. If he remembered correctly, it was a nice thing to do, and it appeared that it would please her more than the average person. It would have at least given him a reason to come and see her. Perhaps it would help her think kindly of him, and not dismiss him right away. He had never taken a wife, and he thought it was about time he found one.

The more he stayed in the underworld, the more he realized that he needed to find a suitable wife. He was still peeved that she had dared to laugh at him. He was afraid that he had done something that looked stupid. He straightened and became a little stiffer, "What are you laughing about?" his voice became more guarded and suspicious. He hadn't realized how desperate he was to have a chance with her, because he impulsively blurted out, "Can I help you gather posies?" he asked.

He wondered where the word posie had come from, and he scoffed at his vocabulary choice. How could anyone take him seriously if he kept on messing up like this? He could imagine the laughs everyone would get, if he talked like that to a dead soul. He didn't know which flowers she wanted picked, and he felt very silly offering. It appeared to be something she did for fun, so he doubted he would be able to help her. He knew that he would look very silly. The dark grim lord of the underworld bending down to gather bright colored flowers.

He coughed nervously, "Sorry about that. Um...." it down on him that he should have had a more clear straightforward plan before he came here. "Would you like to go on a ride in my charriot?" he asked her. He wasn't sure if this was any better of an option. "We could go on a ride around the countryside, or you could visit the underworld," he offered his voice sounding slightly excited and hopeful.

(Sorry, it's not too long. I wasn't sure what else to say)

At seeing how Hades seemed to be shocked at something she did, Persephone's smile flattered. She probably did something wrong, having him think that she might not have manners. Her gaze flickered away from him, her hand reaching up and grabbing a strand of her hair. She started to play with it, something she did when she is embarrassed or to help calm her down. In this instance, it is from embarrassment. She can't believe she forgot her manners as that is the one thing she was taught at a young age. It tends to slip her mind when she hasn't been around other people other than the attendants and her mother.

She didn't know what he was going to do to her for forgetting her manners as well as laughing at him. She has heard stories from her mother about Hades, but she refuses to believe them until she meets and gets to know him. How stupid she is for thinking it would be a good idea to let a small laugh leave her lips at his attempt to try and smile. She will have to be more careful to keep her manners in check, especially around the God of the Underworld. She rather not get on his bad side even if it is by accident.

Her gaze flickered back to him when he questioned her as to why she was laughing. She cringed internally, her face probably showing slight remorse. Not towards him, of course. It was towards her for being rude towards Hades. Her hand still played with the strand of her hair for a few moments, her bottom lip being brought into her mouth as she chewed on it. She felt horrible for the way she acted and wouldn't be able to contain how much she is going to be apologizing to him about her bad behavior.

She bowed to him, her hair falling over her shoulder like a golden waterfall. She let go of her bottom lip, her head still bowed towards him. "I apologize for my rudeness. My manners have slipped my mind today." She said, her voice soft as her words held warmth. After a few seconds, she stood up straight and took a few steps away from him. She didn't do it because she is afraid of him. She did it because she felt like she might be invading his space. "My manners are never that bad. I don't know where they have gone today. I'm sorry." She mumbled as pink dusted her cheeks in embarrassment.

Then he blurted out if he could help her gather some posies. Her brows raised in surprise, her mouth almost dropping in shock. She never thought that the God of the Underworld would want to pick posies with her let alone offer to do it. She stood there, shock written all over her face for a few seconds before a smile once again appeared on her lips. She wouldn't dare turn down that kind of offer, especially since it is someone new that hasn't been around here for decades. "If you wish, that would be wonderful." She said, her hands clapping together in delight. She usually does this by herself, but she wouldn't mind another lending hand such as Hades.

She turned towards the field, her hands picking posies here and there. She looked over her shoulder at Hades, a soft smile on her face. "You can pick whatever ones you wish to grab." She turned her attention back onto the field, her smile still on her face. She thought about putting a flower in Hades' hair, but she had a feeling that he wouldn't be pleased if she did that. She wiped that thought from her head, knowing that would never happen even if he somehow ended up visiting her each and every day.

She plucked a blue flower and slipped it into her hair. She always likes to have a flower in her hair while she gathers the rest of them. She stopped picking flowers at hearing Hades asking if she would like to go for a ride in his chariot. She turned around to face him, her arms filled with flowers. She knew that her mother wouldn't be very happy if she went with him, especially if it were someone like Hades. She cringed at the lecture she would get afterward about being irresponsible for getting whisked away on a chariot by none other than the God of the Underworld.

As much as she would love to get away from her mother and her attendants, she isn't sure she has the ability to truly leave. Her brows furrowed together, knowing this is a hard decision to make as it could possibly change things. She bit her bottom lip, her gaze flickering to the flowers in her arms. She didn't want to disappoint Hades. She hates when she disappoints anyone.

"Hades, I..." Her gaze flickered to him, seeing how he seemed a bit excited and even hopeful that she would say yes. She couldn't say no to that. It would be a punch in the gut for both of them. She will just have to face the wrath of her mother once she gets home. Sure, she may end up having someone around her twenty-four-seven after this, but she has a feeling it may be worth it.

"As long as don't bring me to the Underworld or Mount Olympus, or try anything funny." She said, her lips curving into a bright smile.

[All is good! I feel like mine sucks, so I apologize in advance.]

Since he wanted to hide his feelings, he didn't do what he felt like doing. It was a struggle to keep himself from slapping himself in the face with a hand and hiding his face behind his large hand. He knew that he was messing up. If he wanted to spend time with her, he needed to learn how to be more suave. Somehow Ares and Zeus knew how to do it. Ares was a bit of a brat even if he was good looking. It confused Hades that he was able to earn so many females regard. While he knew that he wouldn't be winning personality awards nor was he the prettiest god, he didn't think he was any worse than some of them. Nobody liked to spend time with someone if it was awkward.

It wasn't fun to be corrected by someone. From personal preference he knew this to be true. He didn't notice that she was nervous, because he was too focused on himself. He kept on worrying that he would chase her away permanently. Even if she was laughing at him, he could have been more diplomatic about asking why she had and correcting her or telling her that he didn't like it. As one of the higher gods he didn't believe that he should let anyone laugh at him, but she was a godess herself. While he was above her in the hierarchy, she wasn't some mere mortal. She could laugh at him even if it might be an unwise decision. He stared at her blinking for a moment.

She was actually apologizing to him. He was a little surprised. He wondered if it was from fear or she actually felt the need to apologize. He noticed that she backed up a few steps, and he believed that she was probably apologizing, because she was afraid or at the very least intimidated by him. He nodded his head once acknowledging her apology. As he studied her and considered her appearance, he was reminded that she was a beautiful young goddess. Even now the pink embarassement dusting her cheeks complimented her appearance. When he offered to help gather posies, he didn't blame her for being surprised.

He hadn't expected those words to come out of his mouth, and he hadn't really considered it. He wasn't particularly fond of flowers. They had pollen and their smell generally annoyed him. However, he was trying to spend time with her, and she appeared to like them. She clapped her heads, which he interpreted as she was happy and delighted to have his help. He was sure at the very least, it would give her new flowers to revel in, and watching him gather flowers would be an amusing tale to regale her companions with. At the very least it would be a momentary amusement, and possibly a memory she pulled out every now and then to laugh at. Hopefully, it was a pleasing gift.

He had no idea what flower to pick, and he wished she had given him a little more guidance. He began to hope that she didn't have a preference, because he was planning on picking with abandon. After he had gathered a handful, he mentioned the chariot ride. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to hold onto the flowers or if he could give them to her. He watched her carefully trying to guess what she would say. He already had an educated guess, but he could still hope. With bated breath he watched her. He scratched his neck nervous and awkward. She hesitated, which meant that she was at least considering it. That was a good sign, or at least he thought so.

He wasn't sure what all would go into this decision. All he knew was that most females tried to avoid him. He supposed being the god of death was grim, frightening, and intimidating. His home didn't sound like a pleasant place to live, so it didn't seem like he would be a pleasant person. While he knew his form was pleasing. After all he was a god. He could provide well for a woman and he might even be an okay conversationalist if he got the chance. However, not all of these things mattered to a woman. They wouldn't like his job, and they might find it erie that dead souls wandered around his house. He knew that all of this might be off putting. His eyes brightened and widened a little astonished that his gamble had paid off.

She had accepted his offer. He was a little disappointed that he couldn't show her the Underworld, but he had had no plans to go by Mount Olympus. He was amused, when she instructed him to do nothing funny. While as far as he knew she was simply being courteous, she didn't have such an aversion to him that she couldn't go on a chariot ride. He gave her a real smile. It was small, but it showed his gleaming teeth. After dipping his head respectfully and slightly deferential, he agreed, "As you wish." He handed her the flowers that he had gathered, and he whistled. Out of the ground came his chariot and horses. He remembered that most people would have taken a lady on a more pleasant ride than a chariot ride.

However he didn't like those other contraptions that were supposed to be pulled by a horse. What was the point of wagons and other such things if you couldn't go as fast as you could in a chariot. When the team of horses pulled up past him and stopped, he extended a hand to help her in. "Where would you like to go?" he asked now that he didn't have any plans of his own. He wasn't sure where to show her. River, mountains and plains didn't hold the allure for him that it might for her. After he installed himself into his chariot, he looked around. He had a careful hold on the reins. He could feel his horses pulling at the bit itching to move forward. "Ready?" he asked her hoping that she was safely able to hold on.

Persephone watched Hades as he gathered flowers. Even though she was smiling before, it only got bigger as she watched him. She found it adorable that he is helping her pick flowers even if people might laugh at him for doing such a task. Sure, she hadn't expected him to offer and pick the flowers, but she is glad he did. Of course, she wouldn't dare tell anyone about it as it might just ruin his reputation or his pride if she did so. She will think about it, and it will always put a smile on her face at the thought about Hades picking flowers for her in the field.

He seemed unsure as to what to pick. She honestly didn't mind what he picked since she will use them regardless of the color or type of flower. She went over to him, settling her hand gently on his upper arm as she pointed towards a patch of ruby-red flowers. "You can pick those right there." She gave him a smile before moving away and started to work on the flower crown. She likes doing this just because flowers have also been something she has always adored. It might seem childish to be making such an item, but she didn't care what people thought. She did what she liked to do and she doesn't care if people think it is childish or not.

When she agreed, she never expected to see a small smile appear on his face. She is generally curious as to why he is even talking to her. She isn't anything special, even though her mother says otherwise. She doesn't think she is as gorgeous as Aphrodite, as strong as Artemis, or as intelligent as Athena. So, like any other woman standing in her shoes, she wonders as to why he is speaking to someone such as her. It isn't like she is well known among the Gods and Goddesses since she has never really been around them very much. They only know who she is thanks to her mother telling them about her. So, she wonders what makes her any different than the other Goddesses that can offer this God so much more than she will ever be able to.

She took the flowers from him when he handed them to her, sticking them into the crown here and there. "Thank you." She murmured, her gaze casted at her hands as she worked. Just as she finished, Hades whistled, a chariot and horses coming up from the ground seconds later. She couldn't help the amazement that appeared on her face at seeing such a gorgeous chariot. She set the crown on her head as she moved towards the horses without a second thought. She has been wanting a horse for years, but her mother thinks they are too dangerous to have let alone have her ride one. So, she had to settle for admiring them from afar. At least her mother isn't here now to whisk her away from both Hades and the horses.

She let her hands gently stroke the stallion in the front. A soft laugh left her lips as he nickered at her gentle touch. She let her hands travel to his muzzle, gently stroking it. "They are such strong and beautiful creatures." She said, her gaze not leaving the strong stallion before her. The stallion seemed to agree, nuzzling against her hand. She stroked his muzzle once more before turning her attention to Hades when he asked her where she wanted to go. She grasped his hand once she is near him, letting him help her in as any other gentleman would. "Thank you very much."

She pursed her lips together, wondering where she would like to go. She has been to many places, but she has to say that she has never been to the beach before. She grinned as she turned to face him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Can we go to the beach? I haven't been there before and I have always wanted to go." She hoped he will say yes, but if not, that will be alright. She will be slightly disappointed, but she will think of another place to go if he decides that isn't a place she would like to see. "It is alright if you don't want to, though." She added.

She glanced towards the fields when she heard her name being called. Seeing her mother marching towards them at a frightening speed with the attendants, she cringed. Anger is twisted into her soft features, showing that she is definitely going to get a scolding and a lecture once she gets back. She will suffer through it though, as Hades is the first God, besides Hermes who comes down every other day to give her news on what is happening up in Mount Olympus, to talk to her let alone want to hang out. "Of course. Better get going before my mother tries to stop you." She said, her gaze flickering up to meet his.

He wasn't sure what Persephone thought of him out here picking flowers. He hoped she didn't think he was being silly. He was sure it would throw off mortals to see him doing this. However, once they were dead and trapped in his domain, they wouldn't smile about him picking flowers anymore. Perhaps they might even understand why he did it. He startled for a moment, when she put a hand on his arm. He looked at her puzzled until he realized that she was simply giving him direction. He went to work where she had guided him to.

He turned and watched her work on her crown. He was amused with himself. He was the god of the Underworld. It was a grim place, but he was trying to get to know the goddess of spring. Spring represented new life. How could they be more different? She was happy and young, he was older and grim. Aphrodite had no loyalty. While he wouldn't be surprised if whoever he chose had affairs, Aphrodite was too flaky and constantly in demand. She would never do as goddess of the Underworld.

Athena was wise, but Hades thought they might be too similar. While he was much more grim, Athena was a serious goddess. Artemis had promised that she would always remain a virgin. The other goddesses were normally sworn off of men or they already had one. He was searching for a queen who would reside with him in the Underworld. It was a dark place, and he was looking for someone who was willing to try to light it up for him. Persephone was like a ray of sunshine, and he thought it would be good for him.

She took the flowers from him, and he shyly dipped his head and muttered some sort of your welcome phrase. Now that they were free, he commanded his horses to come. They were his pride, and he loved showing them off to someone who would appreciate them. He felt a warmth spread through him as Persephone admired them. All of his stallians were dark black and energetic. They were all excited to go. He felt pride flourish, when he noted her astonished face. It was hardly ever that he received such a pleasing response, when he was showing them off. He dipped his head subtly agreeing with her.

"You're welcome," he gruffly told her. It was the only present he could think of that he thought she might accept. He had wanted it to be something more than some object. He had hoped that he could make at least one good memory with her. After he helped her into the chariot, he waited for her to give them a destination. While he personally didn't like the beach, he wanted to please her. He would be closer to Poseidon which might be interesting. What he did know was that he was used to the Underworld, and he would burn easily. He also didn't like the sand and he wasn't overly fond of water.

He nodded his head, "Of course." He glanced in the direction that she was looking and he froze apprehensively. He knew Demeter's profile, and he knew she wouldn't be happy that he was hanging around her daughter. He wasn't sure if he should stay or leave. He would prefer for Demeter to not know about his visits. If he waited too much longer, she would know for sure that it was him. She was moving very fast, and it made even him want to quail away from her incoming speedy fury. He gave her a small smile, "I'm sorry that my visit has caused you trouble. May I come back to see you?" he asked.

He wasn't sure if she was willing to risk it. Besides, she might have found this time totally wasted. He was glad that he was in his charriot. It would be easier to escape. He helped Persephone down from the charriot. He was disappointed that the ride was being cancelled. "I'll be going. I don't think my presence will help anything," he told her feeling like a sneaky coward slinking off. He was perfectly capable of doing that, but he didn't want her to think badly of him. Once he was under way he was soon out of sight. He wasn't sure when he would get to see her again.

Once he returned home he went to sit on his nice large throne. He sat there contemplating how he would see her again. There wasn't much to do, so after he shook his thoughts off, he decided to go look around and make sure everything was still in order. He ordered a servant to bring him food, and he checked his home out. There were a few newcomers, but no one had escaped, which pleased him. They hadn't tried to take advantage of his absence, or they weren't smart enough to know how.

Persephone grew disappointed when Hades asked if he could see her again. She knew what that meant, knowing that he will be leaving rather than whisking her away from here. She can't blame him though, as she wouldn't want to be on her mother's bad side either. Regardless, she rather have him take her away and face her mother's wrath later. She really wanted to get out of here, and, surprisingly, wanted to hang out with Hades. She let a sigh leave her lips, her gaze casting away from him. "I suppose." She mumbled, her voice clearly holding disappointment that he is leaving her already.

Once she is back on the ground, she finally looked at him. She gave him a sad smile, her shoulders shrugging. "Don't stay away too long, Hades." She meant that and hoped that he won't stay away for too long. Her life sometimes got boring since Demeter didn't let her do very much. She reached out to grab his hand to try and change his mind on canceling the chariot ride, but he already took off. She pulled her hand back, holding it against her chest. Her head bowed slightly, her hair fluttering in the slight breeze. If only her mother didn't come at the time, she would be on a ride to the ocean with Hades.

She had a feeling it would probably be a while before he ever sees her again. He might never come again now that she thinks of it. She turned around, brushing past Demeter and her attendants. She didn't want to talk about anything that happened. She was having a grand time until her mother had to ruin it.

---------

It has been a week since Persephone last saw Hades. Her mother still is trying to figure out who was with her and she never will unless the God gets caught by her. She did get a scolding about what she did though. It wasn't a surprise to her. She didn't really listen though, even though Demeter thinks she was. She would probably be disappointed that her four-hour scolding went to waste. She would probably get another scolding if her mother ever did find out that she didn't listen to her. That would most likely be another four hours.

Her hand glided over the silky white coat of the mare that her mother finally let her get. Even though her mother always said no, she finally pursued her to get her a horse. She only changed her mind after seeing what a gentle giant the mare that she picked out is. She is glad as she at least had something else to do in her free time when no one is watching her twenty-four seven. Her mother has gotten a bit more lenient on her free time since she knows that Moon, her mare, will take care of her. She knows that Moon is such a simple and perhaps stupid name, but she feels like it fits the mare.

She hoisted herself up onto the mare's bare back, clicking her tongue on the roof of her mouth to have the mare urge forward. Once they passed the outskirts of the fields, they easily navigated their way around the green forest. A grin spread across her lips as she took in a breath of the musty pine air. She loved it here, perhaps more so than the flower field. She loved the animals that roamed the forest, wanting nothing more than to bring them all home and have them live with her. They are all just so cute that she couldn't pick a favorite if someone were to ask her that type of question.

Moon soon stopped at the edge of a cliff, having it overlook a beautiful clear blue lake. A smile appeared on her lips once more, her eyes glittering with excitement at the new discovery she has made today. She slid off the mare's back, stumbling slightly once she landed on her feet. She walked closer to the edge of the cliff while she held her hands against her chest. A mischievous glint is seen in her eyes as an idea popped in her head. "If mother knew what I am about to do, surely she would forbid me to come out here again." She murmured to herself, leaning her upper body towards the cliff a bit more.

She pursed her lips together, not really caring as she won't find out unless she is to come out here looking for her. She stepped away from the edge, quickly slipping off the light blue sundress she is wearing. She threw it on the back of Moon, leaving her in only a pair of blue underwear and bra. She just prays to the Gods that her mother won't come out here anytime soon to see her dressed like this. She would probably get another scolding on top of being forbidden to come here.

Without a second thought, she turned and ran towards the edge of the cliff. Once she was close, she jumped off, plunging towards the waters of the lake below her. Her hair trailed behind her like a waterfall, a slight scream leaving her lips right before she plunged into the lukewarm water. She came to the surface, her arms moving around to keep her afloat. A soft, delighted laugh left her lips at what she just did. She should do that more often as she quite enjoyed that.

[I hope you are alright that I skipped a week.]

Hades wasn’t sure if they should continue with their plan. He was panicking with Demeter approaching. At the moment the most important thing to him was escaping without her knowing who he was. He was pretty sure if he took her daughter for any length of time, she would have his head, and he wouldn’t get to see her again. She would be even more alarmed, if she knew it was Hades. Since he had already made his choice, he moved rapidly. He had no time to waste or it would defeat the purpose of trying to escape. He gave her a small smile, that she probably wouldn’t notice under his beard, how small it was, and she was distracted, because she actually seemed reluctant to leave.

He wasn’t sure if she wanted to see the beach that much or if she actually liked being with him. She also seemed to like horses a lot, which could be another factor. He tried to refrain from his eyes widening, when she said not to stay away. He was disappointed that their plan hadn’t worked out, but it would be better if Demeter didn’t start panicking and raging. Once she was out he didn’t waste any time making his escape. He kept his head turned away so Demeter could only see the back. His horses were fast and left a breeze behind. They were too fast for any normal creature to keep up. Hopefully, Persephone wouldn’t get in trouble or tell her mother who had been talking to her.

~~~~~~~~~
It had been a week since Hades had seen Persphone. He was nervous to go see her, because he was afraid that she hadn’t really meant it. It would also mean he might start establishing a pattern. It would start feeling like some sort of commitment, and he wasn’t sure what all of that would mean. He was afraid of Demeter, and he was scared that things would be even more awkward if he returned. However, if he was going to go back, he needed to go before the don’t stay away too long time period ended.
He didn’t want to make her wait, but he wanted to make sure that Demeter didn’t know it was him or start waiting around for him. He decided to take his favorite stallion on a ride. Persephone seemed to enjoy horses, and it would be harder to identify him, if he only had one horse with him. He was surprised that Demter had not known whose chariot it was. However, he didn’t think she could know, because she would be asking the gods for his head. Today was the day that he left the Underworld again. He reminded himself that he shouldn’t leave more than once a week.
Things might start getting chaotic around here, and then he would have a mess to clean up. It would get larger and less manageable the further he put it off. When he made his rounds nothing seemed out of place. His last excuse was removed, so he decided to go. If he kept this up, he would have to hire someone to keep an eye on the place. He headed to his stable to ride his stallion. Instead of tacking him like normal, he decided to ride bareback. It seemed like it would be more pleasant.
He wasn’t sure how he was going to find her, so he started in the field where he had first talked to her. He started working out from there. He eavesdropped on her maids, because he couldn’t stop to ask them. They mentioned her going out on her horse, which would make the searching range much larger. He just began riding around hoping that he would chance upon her. He stopped short when he heard a slight scream. Was someone in trouble? It definitely was a feminine voice, and not some high pitched male. There was a definite difference. He nudged his horse in that direction mildly concerned. If it was a mortal, he could see who was going to be heading to his house later If it was someone who was not in mortal danger, he would see what needed to be done before he decided to help them.
He noticed a horse nearby, which he had never seen before. It had a feminine clothing draped over it, and he knew that it was a horse that belonged to a female. He was more inclined to help a woman than a man, so he continued along his way. He could smell and hear water nearby, so he left his horse near the other horse, and began to head in the direction of the water. Before long he approached a lake. He had to stop, because there was a cliff. This looked like a decent place to fall off and die. However, Hades was immortal, so he didn’t need to fear falling to his death.
Since it was logically a good place for someone to fall off screaming, he crept a little closer, and he peered over the edge, and immediately began blushing. He had come upon Persephone without trying too hard. From the clothes on her horse and his brief glance, he knew that she wasn’t wearing much. While he was used to seeing Aphrodite wearing minimal clothing, most of the other goddesses wore more than that. He didn’t want her to know he was here. It would make things awkward, and he wasn’t sure how to respond, but he didn’t want her to think that he was spying on her. With a sigh he knew he had to say something. “Persephone, uh...I was looking for you. I came over here, because I heard a scream and I was worried.” He ended it right there. She couldn’t get mad at him, right? It was a reasonable excuse and true. He backed away from the edge, so he couldn’t see her even if he tried unless he moved forward.
