Rules
1. All of Eve's already made rules should be followed. Click Me! That will lead you to the rules page.

2. You're limited to one character for this RP. This will not change.

3. Do not make characters overpowered. Try to keep them balanced. They may make a deal with a god but that doesn't mean they can be as advanced as the gods. Also keep personalities somewhat balanced, no shadow characters and such.

4. I would love some more advanced writers, but I am not expecting roleplayers to write a ton for replies, just a minimum of giving a good reply to everyone else. Activity levels for this RP will be something like a post a week, but no pressure.

5. Reservations will last until I remember to unmark them, with at least 48 hours before I can do that. Extensions for +12 hours if you need, PM me!

6. Please mark your characters as a WIP. And when they're done, please PM me and remove that mark so I know when to check. Thank you!

7. Don't be petty when a character sheet is declined. I've had players be so petty I had a mod step in, don't make me do that.

8. Please add a link to an RP example in your other section when you're done so I know you've read the rules! If you're a well known RPer or have been in RPs with me before, just put "Ghostie".

I'd also like to note that rules may change so it's up to you to keep up with them! It won't happen super often but just a warning

This RP is not supposed to be religious, and focuses mainly on different mythologies. ❤︎

Hikaru Yamamoto | He/Him | Mentions: Kaiser & Milkshake (dir, NPCs). Garvin, Darla, Salvador, Maciej (ind.)
Karu woke up to the sound of peace and silence, for once in his life. Kaiser loved to bark to wake up Hikaru just a few minutes past the time he was supposed to get up. Milkshake was better behaved, but she joined in every so often on days Hikaru didn't want to get up.

As Hikaru got up and out of bed, Kaiser and Milkshake got right up against him, wagging their tails happily and almost knocking the sleepy Hikaru over a few times. Kaiser was first to the door, pressing his nose right up to the wood and giving small ruffs every so often to hurry up his owner, while Milkshake was being a good dog and waiting by her leash. He slipped on the first shirt he could find, a plain white T-shirt and some plain black sweatpants before quickly getting his boots on.

"C'mere," Hikaru whispered to Milkshake. He clipped her leash to her collar and did the same to Kaiser with his own leash and collar.

Hikaru came back about twenty minutes later and hadn't woken up very much despite how cold it was in the morning. He let them off their leashes once the door was shut and locked behind him. The dogs were happier than ever and more calmed down, which meant all they did was take up space on his bed.

The dogs had a full bowl of food and a separate bowl of water, also full, so they were taken care of, but Hikaru couldn't go back to bed now. Even if he wanted to. There wasn't anything to do while he waited for everyone to be up. The TV would be too loud; his music would probably also be loud enough to wake up Garvin if he played it. So what could he do?

Eat. He had a bag of snacks that just happened to have various candies, chips, and even some healthier snacks like granola bars, but those would stay untouched for a while. So he grabbed the first thing that touched his hand, and that happened to be M&Ms. Not great to have for breakfast, but hey… nobody would yell at him for it, hopefully.

Salvador "Tory" Castellano // He/Him // Mentions: Macy (dir), Garbo, Hikaru, Darla (ind)

Tory couldn’t imagine why he’d woken up so early. But now, unfortunately, he couldn’t get back to sleep. It could possibly have to do with the fact that Macy was in the same room, just a few feet away from him. But no, it probably had more to do with the slight draft and distorted noise of the fifth-worst motel Tory had stayed in since joining this group. Whatever the reason, he was awake now, and there was no fixing that. He checked his phone clock several times in agitation, but gave up when he found only a minute had passed. Well, his whole sleep schedule was shot now. He was going to be tired earlier, which meant he’d have to go to sleep earlier, which meant he’d be awake earlier yet again tomorrow morning.

Despite the earliness of the hour, Tory couldn’t help glancing sideways at Macy. Was he still asleep? Of course he was, nobody should be awake right now - except maybe Hikaru, he seemed the type. Still, Tory almost wished Macy would wake up, just to give him someone to talk to. And, at the same time, he absolutely did not want Macy to wake up, because then he would have to talk to him. Sighing slightly, Tory swung his legs out from under the covers to retrieve his laptop from his bag. He had plenty of time, so he might as well go through the footage from the other day. As spooky and thrilling as the premise of monster hunters exploring haunted places was, the footage looked more like home video of four idiots making stupid faces at the camera. Tory found a clip of Macy laughing at something clever Tory had said, and rewound it a couple of times. He found himself ridiculously pleased with his silly joke, and might have convinced himself he was stand-up comedian material if he hadn’t realized Macy might wake up any minute. It would look pretty weird, Tory sitting there with his laptop rewinding the video over and over. He hurriedly fast-forwarded, and glanced over to see if Macy was awake yet. Hadn’t he just done that two minutes ago?

Tory got around to something especially unhinged Garvin had decided to do that day, and put his hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter. He hadn’t had many friends last as long as Garvin and him, and not a single one of them had made such a collection of bad life choices. Frankly, this whole group had the potential for disaster, and as a spectator with a camera Tory was more than happy to let them run free. Well, within reason. Someone had to be the reasonable one here - and it was definitely Hikaru. But Tory was willing to be the backup. He did have an unfortunate tendency to get dragged into these things against his will. He didn’t want anything to do with drama, or overreactions, or rivalries. I mean, besides Darla, but that was different. She was the worst kind of person he had ever had the misfortune to meet. What was he supposed to do, pretend to like her, be nice to her? That one was on her, since she’d clearly started the whole thing. Tory also didn’t want anything to do with romantic drama and rom-com subplots. He did have a slight crush right now - he was working on it - but he had, as far as he could tell, concealed it masterfully. Though that was a lot harder when the group forced the two to share a room. Is he up yet? Tory glanced over for a third time and cursed himself. Stop doing that, you’re a grown man.

Finally Tory’s actual wake-up time rolled around. He got up out of bed as quietly as he could and tucked his laptop away. Now things felt a little more regular. He had the same routine every morning, and today wasn’t about to be any different. It was make the bed, get dressed in the bathroom, brush his teeth, wash his face, comb his hair, and gather what he needed for the day. He went through the motions like he was on autopilot, and stared lazily into the mirror as he dragged a comb through his hair. He wasn’t sure exactly what Hikaru had planned for the day, but with this sort of job it hardly seemed to matter. One day he’d want some sort of job with a real schedule and deadlines. But he liked this for now. He would have stuck around for Garvin and Macy, if for nothing else. Hikaru was a very interesting person, and Tory had considered doing a sort of character study with the footage he’d collected. Darla, of course, could just as soon leave, but he guessed she was sticking around, so he would just keep ignoring her. He was glad to be with the group for now, though he knew eventually they’d get tired of looking for so-called “spooks” and would have to move on. But it was nice having a real friend group for once.

Tory’s stomach growled, reminding him that he needed to eat breakfast. At first travelling had really thrown him off in regards to eating. Back home, it was easy enough to cook himself up something edible and make a pot of coffee. It wasn’t so easy when he was motel-hopping. He’d spent a lot of his life eating like a money-deprived college student, but he wasn’t about to let things go any more downhill than that. He’d be damned if he couldn’t make room for an entire bag full of fruit, nuts, granola, canned fish, crackers, and a dozen other things. Along with his travel bags and surprisingly heavy camera equipment, it was clear that packing light had never been an option for him. He didn’t let other people carry his bags, and he did not let anyone else have any of his large amount of food.

He wasn’t going to share, but today he was feeling a bit more sociable. A bit daring, maybe from the wild high of watching a video of Maxi laughing five times in a row. Almost crazy enough to - suggest they all go get breakfast together. This was about as far as he was willing to go out of his comfort zone, though. Putting in a real effort was going too far. All he did was text the group chat, “Breakfast?” Hopefully they would figure out what that meant. He heard Maxi’s phone buzz as the text was sent, and looked at him pensively for a few moments, trying to decide whether to wake him up or not. He opened the nightstand drawer and withdrew a cigarette pack and a lighter, pulling one out and lighting it, filling the air with the delightful aroma of nicotine.

Garvin Chips King | He/Him | Mentions; Hikaru, Milkshake, Kaiser (Ind/Dir). Salvador, Darla, Maciej (Ind).

*~*~*~*

Bleary, and feeling just as unrested as he always seemed to, Garvin found himself waking up to the popcorn ceiling of a motel. He gave himself a second to see if his memory would catch up to him, before the leg hanging off the side of the bed and the hand stretching onto the headboard got a little too uncomfortable. He stifled a yawn as he shifted, trying to find a way up that didn’t involve falling onto the floor. Which was… Actually kind of hard, probably because of how damn tall he was.

--

He wasn’t even sure what time it was. Not when he’d woken up at all hours in the past. Which was beyond annoying, by the way. Go to bed at a reasonable time for once, why not? You’ll just end up waking up with the moon still out and fucking hours until sunrise. Great plan there. He huffed, quietly, and finally managed to sit up in the bed without falling off of it. At which point, he remembered that he had a roommate. Mostly because he could make someone out in the motel room and, well, he was fairly certain that he hadn’t done anything like that the day before.

--

And then the ghost hunting slammed into him, and he just about wished he had fallen off the bed. Maybe the crash would’ve fixed his stupid ass memory. He was part of some ghost hunting group. Which was just great. More insane shit in his life, just what he needed. He squinted a moment at the other person, and then reached for the stand where he’d put his glasses. Because if someone else were already awake, he was willing to say that it was too late to try and go back to sleep.

--

Garvin shifted around and found his way to the edge of the bed, swinging his other leg over it, eyes searching in a wide sweep of just… Anything, really. Whatever of note the motel had in the room. It wasn’t much, so he switched to just pushing his hands into the mattress he was sitting on. As shit the motel was, the bed was still softer than other places he’d slept in the past. It was almost even just the right amount of soft. Not so soft that it made him feel better sleeping on a couch or floor, and not so… Not soft. That he still wanted to sleep on a couch or floor instead.

--

He glanced at the other person in the room, and finally managed to remember who it was. Hikari or something or other like that. It didn’t really matter all too much yet. The candy the guy was eating though, either Skittles or M&Ms, now that definitely mattered. So he grinned towards himself, shifted to pushing at his knees a little, and then pushed himself up off the bed to stalk his way over.

--

Which wasn’t too difficult, Karu never seemed to notice when he started his antics, after all. Even with his dogs on his bed. And besides that, he’d stolen from people plenty of times in the past, he didn’t think he should be able to be shit at it. Taking some damn candy pieces probably didn’t even count as stealing. So he made his way over to Shade, threw an arm around his shoulder and leaned over him, a bright grin glued in place on his face. With a still half-asleep tone of voice, he hummed out a, “Mmnh, good mornin’, Shade. How’s we feelin’ today? Anythin’ goin’ on?

--

He kept his eyes on Bulb, purposely half-lidded in the way that fit his tone, slowly feeling with the hand slung around his shoulder for where the bag was so he could grab it. It wasn’t hard to find the edge of it, and he waited for Sunny to start shifting to answer him before he pulled the bag and turned with it in his hand. Which, of course, meant success. So he shifted, ignoring the ever so slightly annoyed, “Hey!” from Motto as he made his way into the tiny kitchen area, sifting through the small bag of M&Ms in his hand and trying not to laugh.

--

Garvin turned back towards Karu, whose slight confusion laced annoyance was just the reaction his, most likely, shit eating grin had wanted to see. He leaned back against the counter, and shifted his grin down a little, to just shy of being playful. His tone was plenty teasing on its own though, he was sure. “Oh, don’ worry, Sunshine. I’ll give ‘em back, I jus’ want a few.

--

Shade kept looking at him, which almost managed to make him laugh if he were being honest. He shifted, went back to sifting through the bag, searching for any green or brown ones in it. The brown ones had gotten so fucking rare. It was just a bit annoying, given that those were the best of them. Greens were a close second, of course, but that was more because the character was damn hilarious in the ads. The greens were also just way more common for him to find.

--

After he’d managed to secure the green ones, and the singular brown one he’d found, in one of his gloved hands, he pushed off the counter and walked back over to Hikari with the bag. He paused just long enough to set the bag in front of him, and then continued back towards the bed he’d gotten out of. He grabbed his phone from the nightstand, taking a glance at the time and the severe lack of notifications before putting it right back down, and hesitated with the prescription bottles he’d brought with him.

--

Technically, he was supposed to take them. But… He wasn’t sure what the group planned on doing for the day yet, and if he ended up being able to drink, either after or during it somehow… Well, missing a day was probably better than risking any sort of interactions between his medication and alcohol, right? He’d survive at least a day without it anyway. Even if he didn’t end up drinking, he’d be fine for a day. It wasn’t like he was a thread away from fucking snapping or anything, after all. He felt perfectly fine. It’d be fine.

--

So he didn’t bother with them, deciding instead on skipping that step in this morning’s dance and kept on, grabbing a pair of black cargo pants and a mostly yellow plaid button down and went to the bathroom to change.

--

Keeping his eyes away from the motel’s bathroom mirror as he changed wasn’t hard. Every single motel he’d ever been in seemed to have the same damn bathroom, after all. And he’d seen plenty, even before he’d started traveling with the group he was with at the moment. It was honestly kind of nice to be back to traveling, the apartment life he’d been trying out before this had been… Well, not mundane. His life hadn’t ever been mundane. But the apartment life hadn’t really felt like his. Not like traveling did.

--

What was hard to keep his eyes away from was the sink’s faucet, dripping a water droplet or two at inane intervals. It was annoying. The way it was starting to make his chest tighten was even more annoying though. Other motels had had leaky faucets too though, and he had usually told whoever was running the place about it. Told them that he could fix it, get a discount or something or other out of it. Especially if it led to him being allowed to check all the other sinks, fix those. Those had always been the ones he’d stayed at longest.

--

He wasn’t sure if the group had time for him to do all that though. Maybe if they didn’t have any plans. It wouldn’t take too long to fix the one in here, so long as it was just some loose parts. Hopefully it was just loose parts. The other shit it could be would be a bitch to deal with. He could glance, technically. Nothing was stopping him from doing that. So he took a step back, barely noticing that he’d finished changing, and half knelt on the ground, opening the cabinet under the sink to see what the issue was.

--

…Nothing looked completely broken or rusted out, at the very least. He’d have to grab his phone for the flashlight though, just to make sure. So he took a breath, tried to ignore the water dripping, and pulled himself back up into standing. He closed the cabinet and left the bathroom, headed straight for his phone.

--

This time when he grabbed it and it flashed on though, there was a message on the lockscreen. A simple question from Pepper.

--

Breakfast?

--

He stared at it for a moment, and then grinned, tapping the message and opening his phone to shoot back a— ‘You gonna pay?

--

He looked over to Sunn after he hit send, trying to make sure he at least told someone before he forgot about it. And make sure he wasn’t going to be crossing some sort of line. Maybe Hickey liked having leaky faucets. How was he supposed to know? “Uh- The sink’s leakin’ a bit so ‘m prob’ly gonna fix it later. Tha’s all good wit ya, right?

Maxi W. | Male | M: Tory (d) Hikaru, Darla, Garvin (ind)
---
Maxi had not slept well, but finally, around 3 A.M. he'd dropped off into a fitful sleep. Now, he was sprawled across the queen bed, the blanket shoved off the end of the bed, and the sheets bunch around his waist. He was a naturally warm-blooded boy, so he rarely needed even the thin blankets that hotels and motels normally offered. His sweatshirt was abandoned on the floor beside him, and the only article of clothing still on his body was a well-worn pair of flannel pajama pants. He was asleep on his stomach, the only way he slept well, one arm hanging off the bed, his fingers nearly brushing the ground. Maxi's face was smashed into the pillow, his lips puckered and his cheeks warm and pink, his curls a mess against the white fabric. To say his sleep was fitful was a severe understatement. He was always plagued with horrible dreams when he slept, and his brow was furrowed. Occasionally, he would twitch slightly, his whole body tense and on edge. At that moment, however he was not thoroughly in the throes of one of afore-mentioned vivid dreams, and his sleep was peaceful for a few short minutes.
---
He jerked awake to his phone buzzing beside his face on the pillow, and groaned, shoving it away before sitting up, flicking a stray curl out of his eyes. For a moment, Maxi considered throwing something, either at the boy sitting on the bed to his one side, or at his phone, which chose that inopportune time to buzz again. He scowled, his features twisting as he tried to let himself wake up before he started being violent. He took a slow breath, and picked up the device from where it lay on the floor where he'd pushed it, nearly falling out of the bed in doing so.
---
He picked it up, and skimmed through the group chat without much interest, and then put it back down on the bed, getting up. His body was taut from lack of sleep, and he stretched, wincing as his shoulders eased apart. Maxi chose for the time being to ignore the other person in the room, not being a very good companion in the early mornings, and went straight for the small bathroom on the other side of the motel room. He was personally a fan of this motel. It was small, sure, and maybe not the best quality he'd ever stayed in, but he didn't mind. It had everything that a room actually needed, especially since they were barely in the accommodations for any amount of time that made it worth it to get a good motel. Even so, sometimes he wished they'd be more keen to pool funds and splurge on a nice hotel, one with pressed sheets, and that left chocolates on your pillow. Hell, every one in a while he just wanted to not wonder if the sheets had actually been washed.
---
The young man headed into the bathroom, nudging the door closed with his foot, his attention flicking to the mirror. He considered his morning rituals to be a sacred thing that should never be interrupted, and he fell into his everyday rhythm without hesitation. He washed the sleep from his eyes with cool water, and took his time to slowly shave his sharp jaw, every movement meticulous, and he slowly came back from his haze of sleepiness. He didn't bother with his hair, at least for the time being. Hairstyling was something he hated doing for himself, and there was almost nothing worse than having other people mess with his hair. That was something he'd never forgive him parents' genetics for. People seemed to not realise that while curls were an interesting thing one's hair could do, if they were growing off someone else's skull, maybe you shouldn't just walk up and touch them, or see if they'd be springy. Maxi rolled his eyes as he walked out, his mind wandering to the day before.
They'd had a good time, they were a good group, if he did say so himself. Hikaru kept them from getting themselves sent to jail, and was good for a laugh every now and then. Maxi would be quite content to spend more time with him if it weren't for those damn dogs. Maxi hated dogs. Their slobbering faces and clicking nails, their constant pacing. Tory was good with the camera, which was what kept their salaries still rolling in. What's-his-face kept everyone amused, or utterly pissed off, and was a hit on the cameras, which was good. Darla was...well, Darla. He didn't feel like even thinking about that. She seemed to irritated his roommate more than made him comfortable, and he disliked being in the middle of things. Maxi wandered back into the main part of the motel room, kicking his shoes out the way as he slowly settled himself on the end of Tory's bed, trying to ignore the lingering scent of nicotine. He wasn't a huge fan of smoking, but wasn't about to complain about it, and get stuck with hyper-boy. He stretched out his long legs, and reclined back on his elbows.
"So," he said, chewing on the inside of his lip. "Are we going to have a breakfast? I don't even want to look at the group chat. Either no one actually answered the question, and they've begun the age-old tradition of debating over text while sitting in the same room, or I'll actually have to look for details."

Darla Keys | She/Her| Mentions: Garvin, Hikaru, Salvador, Maxi (ind.)

Darla was still blissfully asleep for a while. She needed it. Dealing the ragtag group she had found herself in was a headache on the best of days, and absolute nightmare on the worst. In her opnion, it was a miracle nobody had murdered each other at this point. Now that would make for a good macabre story.

Her sleep was immediately disrupted by a loud buzzing from her phone, and she slowly got up. Ah. A group chat message. She was half expecting Hikaru to have some tedious plan for the day, or Garvin sending out some total bullshit prank or something. She didn't even give Maxi a thought, whoops. She was pleasantly surprised though. Not becuase it was from Tory- she couldn't stand him on a good day- because it was about breakfast. Hell yeah she could eat.

It didn't take long for Garvin to respond though and her face immediately fell. Hell yeah she could eat, but as a group? Was her sanity really worth some pancakes or eggs or whatever?
...
Probably not, but she was hungry.

She shot back a quick text to the group and got up to get dressed.

Give me five minutes

They should know by now five meant at least twenty. She was already headed towards the bathroom in her room, trying to run a hand through her long unruly hair with a scowl. She didn't know her mother- but she knew for a fact it was that woman's fault she had this mess of curls and despised it. It took for five minutes alone to try and tame them before she gave up and pulled her hair into a high ponytail.

It took her no time at all, in her opinion, to pick out something to wear. Usually she went out of her way to get something nice for the camera on, but as far as she knew they weren't filming today or until later, and she was already in a pissy mood from the text waking her up. Correction- From Tory's text waking her up. Even better.

She pulled some jeans on and a flannel, before pausing. She couldn't look that... well. Like that. Disheleved and like she grew up on a damn farm or something, even if it was closer to the what her upbringing had actually been like. Her hair was already a wreck. She scoffed, quickly switching her outfit just a little- it wouldn't take long at all. She ended up settling for a croptop with the flannel thrown over in instead. Still More casual looking, but clearly not too casual. And of course she had her charm bracelet from her dad. He was sappy like that.

She made sure to put all of her belongings back in her bag. She had a feeling they were getting out of here as soon as possiblle based on how the others had reacted to the less than stellar motel. Bunch of whiners.

Salvador "Tory" Castellano // He/Him // Mentions: Macy (dir), Garbo, Hikaru, Darla (ind)

Almost as soon as Tory sent his text, Macy jerked awake from the sound of his phone buzzing. Tory couldn’t help grinning mischievously, his cigarette clamped between his teeth. He wanted to laugh at Macy’s disgruntled expression and his hair sticking up in various directions. “Morning, sunshine,” Tory greeted dryly, taking his cigarette out his mouth and blowing a puff of smoke that drifted in Macy’s general direction. Tory felt strangely delighted that Macy was finally awake, and even more delighted to be the first thing he had to contend with upon waking. But he knew better than to push his luck before Macy had prepared himself for the day. Tory was very much a morning person. Macy, as it turned out, was not. Lesson well learned. So Tory just watched quietly as Macy trudged off to the bathroom.

Trying to find something to occupy himself with, Tory rearranged some of his things by his bed. Unfortunately, this was about the tenth time he’d done that in two days, and there really wasn’t much to improve upon. He glanced over at Macy’s things. Frankly, Macy was tidy enough himself, and nothing was in disarray. But Tory generally had his own idea about where things should go, and he took the opportunity to hop off the bed and readjust the layout of all of Macy’s things. He figured it all made a lot more sense the way he laid them out. It was a nice gesture, right? He loved reorganizing people’s things without their permission. Surely Macy would appreciate it. Tory did it with all his friends. He was constantly cleaning up after Garbo, though by now he had kind of given up on him. Even when Tory lived with his family, he used to tidy up after them. Tory wasn’t good at too many things, but he was definitely good at this. He stepped back to admire his handiwork and glanced behind him to make sure Macy hadn’t seen. It was a surprise. Like a gift.

Tory returned to his bed and sat down, and a moment later his phone buzzed. He saw that Garbo had text back, and let out a quiet scoff. He immediately texted back: “Like hell I am. Get your own food.” Even if Tory was polite in the first place, he definitely wouldn’t have been to Hammerhead. They were friends, which meant they were far beyond being nice to each other. With nothing to do until Macy came out of the bathroom, Tory scrolled through his phone, looking for a breakfast place. Finally Macy emerged, looking significantly more awake. “Looking especially good this morning, Mace,” Tory said casually, setting his phone down and leaning back on one arm. He was in the middle of congratulating himself on his coolness when it occurred to him that maybe that was a weird thing to say. It’s only awkward if you make it awkward. Anyway, why couldn’t a guy compliment another guy without it being weird? Why couldn’t a non-heterosexual guy compliment another non-heterosexual guy?

Tory took a dangerously long drag on his cigarette, looking at an art piece on the wall which had suddenly become intensely interesting to him. “So-” he started, but he cut himself off as he saw Macy headed for him. He raised a brow as Macy settled down on the foot of Tory’s bed. He tried to simultaneously shift towards and away from Macy, and wound up not moving at all. Macy began talking, biting his lip as he did. He’s so cute. Like a little chipmunk. “Uh,” he said in response to Macy’s question, then gathered himself and continued, “Yeah, first option, of course. Garv did reply, technically. Trying to weasel a free meal out of me.” He laughed slightly at this. Something occurred to him, and he added in the most casual voice he could muster, “Suppose we could just go without them if nobody responds soon.”

No sooner had he said that than his phone buzzed again. He checked and saw Darla’s text, and mentally let out a few choice curse words. The last thing he wanted was to go to breakfast with just Darla and Macy. He couldn’t have thought of a more awkward situation if he’d tried. “Looks like Darla’s in,” Tory told Macy in a lackluster voice. He glanced at the two text responses and shook his head. “I knew I shouldn’t have started this.” It had been a few minutes since his text, and nothing had gone even remotely wrong. But making very boring plans with four people was already too complicated for Tory. “Maybe we should just go get them?” Tory suggested to Macy, who naturally always knew what had to be done in any situation. He waited only for some agreement from Macy before hefting himself out of bed, flattening his hair with his hand to look more presentable before he went outside. “I’ll just grab my shoes and wallet. And maybe the camera - you never know. That means I should bring the whole camera bag. And a hat, just in case. And the small backpack, I guess. Do you think I should bring a water bottle?”

Finally Tory had gathered the many items he had deemed necessary for this small excursion, and slipped his shoes on at the door. He fetched his pepper spray, which was not for any normal self-defense purposes, but rather a safety mechanism in the event that Hikaru’s dogs turned on everyone and tried to rip them to shreds. Tory may have had to deal with their presence, as he seemed to be the only one who realized they were giant predators, but he was definitely not forfeiting his safety. And he wasn’t stepping foot in that motel room with them. He couldn’t for the life of him understand how people could own hundred-pound carnivores with razor-sharp teeth and never give it a second thought. It was like having a lion in your house and just walking around like there wasn’t a lion in your house.

This anti-dog train of thought carried Tory right out the door, but eventually his thoughts turned to more pleasant things. It would be nice to have breakfast with Macy. To sit at a table with Macy, and look at menus with Macy, and see what Macy ordered. Oh yes, and everyone else. Obviously. “How’s this place look?” Tory asked. He kept his distance from Macy and awkwardly held out his phone at an angle so Mace could see it. He had found a health eatery which looked like it probably served cauliflower pizza that tasted like cardboard. When Tory got the chance to pick where they went to eat, he always went for the healthiest option. Which, in several instances, hadn’t necessarily been the best-tasting option. Normally he wouldn’t have bothered asking anyone for approval, but he did want Macy to like it. Macy was the kind of person who just knew things. “They do juices,” Tory added, like this was a big selling point. They were approaching the door to Salt and Hikaru’s room, and Tory slowed down and knocked lightly on the door as he spoke to Macy.

Hikaru Yamamoto | He/Him | Mentions; Garvin (Dir.) Milkshake & Kaiser, Tory (ind)

Hikaru turned his attention to Garvin when he heard him stirring. Well, half his attention. He was listening but more focused on his candy than his roommate over there. Karu had slept at a reasonable time as per usual so he was well rested but even so he still felt groggy. It'd pass but it kind of made him want to sleep again. Just go back to bed but then nobody would supervise Garvin or Darla, those were probably his two main concerns.

“G'morning.” Hikaru fully turned his attention to his friend when Garvin came up to him. “Doing alright. Nothing yet, it's been pretty boring so far.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Hikaru couldn't help but smile a little bit. Either from his momentary childish thought process or how silly it seemed for adults to be stealing candy from each other. He still tried to look annoyed but that had passed by now.

It was already too late by the time he noticed his bag of M&Ms getting snatched from his hands. There was no point to it, because Garvin would give it back and it wasn't a huge deal but he couldn't help the slightly annoyed “Hey!” that escaped from his lips. Hikaru had no peace, none at all. No more candy for Hikaru.

I wonder what the rest of the group is up to. He waited, watching Garvin go through the different colours of M&Ms and only take the green ones and one brown one. Hikaru hadn't even touched his phone yet, and because of that at the back of his mind he had the idea to just go a day without his phone. But that would be idiotic, if he didn't answer the group eventually they'd probably track him down.

He got up and threw out the empty packet into a trashcan by the door. Returning to the bed, he flopped himself down and stared at the ceiling. Milkshake and Kaiser knew better than to jump onto the bed. His dogs were big and scary, to some, so maybe he would have to leave them behind at some point. Perhaps leave them with a friend unless they settle down somewhere for long enough. Moving around from hotel to hotel surely couldn't be good for them, but maybe he was overthinking it.

Karu had done pretty much nothing yet today. As soon as Garvin dropped the bag in front of him to return it. Hikaru lifted the bag to his lips and tipped it, letting the last of the M&Ms slide into his mouth. “There goes the last of that..” Hikaru murmured.

Karu heard Garvin as he came back. “I haven't checked my phone yet, is the group up to anything?”

Hikaru rolled himself over onto his side to look at Garvin when he was talking directly to him. That was polite right? “Oh yeah, that's fine,” He nodded. “Fine by me.”
