This is a revamp of the original ~ The Awakening ~ that I created. It will start off just like before, however, I am making this a small group RP rather than a large one as that didn't work out last time. There will only be so many slots available for players with unlimited characters for each player.

Setting:

The Valley of Whispering Pines is a picturesque landscape, bathed in the soft golden glow of summer. The valley is a serene sanctuary, enclosed by majestic mountains, their peaks stretching towards the clear blue sky. The days are filled with warm sunlight, casting dappled patterns through the dense canopy of towering pine trees that blanket the valley.

As you step into the valley, you find yourself immersed in a tapestry of vibrant colors. Meadows carpeted in wildflowers stretch out, their hues ranging from vibrant yellows and purples to delicate pinks and blues. Bees and butterflies flit from blossom to blossom, adding a touch of life and movement to the tranquil scene.

Nestled within this natural haven, the Ascendant Valley Pack has created their camp. The camp rests in a clearing, surrounded by a protective circle of tall pines, their needles whispering secrets with every gentle breeze. The ground is covered in a soft carpet of moss and pine needles, providing a comfortable resting place for the wolves.

The camp itself consists of several well-crafted dens, nestled against the base of towering trees. These dens are constructed from fallen branches, leaves, and other natural materials, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Each den is customized to suit the needs and preferences of the individual pack members.

In the center of the camp, there is a communal gathering area, marked by a wide, flat rock that serves as a meeting place. It is here that the pack gathers to share stories, make important decisions, and strengthen their bonds through social interaction. Nearby, a small, gurgling stream provides a source of fresh water for the pack.

As the sun sets over the valley, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple, the camp takes on a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The nights in the Valley of Whispering Pines are filled with a symphony of sounds. Crickets chirp in harmony, while owls hoot softly from their perches in the trees. The cool night air carries the sweet scent of pine and earth, wrapping the camp in a soothing embrace.

|~~~~|

We will begin at the beginning of the day, the Ascendant Valley Pack waking up under a clear summer sky. The sun, radiant and full of warmth, has already begun its ascent, casting a soft golden light over the landscape. The air carries a gentle breeze that rustles through the leaves of the towering pine trees, creating a soothing melody.

The weather is comfortably warm, with the temperature gradually rising as the day progresses. The meadows glisten with morning dew, and the fragrance of wildflowers permeates the air. It's the perfect weather for the pack to explore their surroundings, engage in their daily routines, and bask in the tranquility of the valley.

The flash will come near sunhigh. That will give us enough time to engage in the regular routines and get to know the characters a bit more before the powers come in.

Raven | 7 | M | Beta | M: Pack(ind)
Soft light filtered into the den, a gentle breeze flowing through the male's fur. An ear flicked as Raven slowly woke up, a yawn escaping his jaws. He laid there for a moment, enjoying the breeze before lifting his head. The soft light filtering in didn't reach him yet but it meant it was time to get up. The day couldn't wait forever. Raven got to his paws before stretching out, making sure to shake away the stiffness in his joints. Shaking out his pelt, he made his way outside to the center of camp.

The sky was clear above him as the sun started to come up. The sunrise was pretty this morning. Raven took a moment to watch it before making his way to the gathering area. His packmates were sure to join him soon and he could start getting patrols out. He treaded around the flat rock and headed to the stream, dipping his head to lap up some water. He would eat later after the pack had something to eat. Raven lifted his head to look out of camp, his keen eyes scanning the trees. One could never be too wary.

Finishing at the stream, he turned back to pad over to the flat rock. It served as a meeting place for the pack and was slightly off the ground so that the alphas could be seen when speaking. Raven hopped onto it before sitting down, his ears staying perked and alert as he waited for his pack to wake up around him. He knew that they would start to filter out, if they hadn't already, to meet for the morning patrol duties. Later, they would be able to split off into their respectful groups and train or just talk.

While he was waiting, he ran through his head which places to send the patrols out at. They had a stale fox scent by the eastern border, which he would check out with one or two of the sentinels gifted with speed. They would make their way to the northern border as well and be back by sunhigh with their talent. Which reminded him to send one down to the southern border before that hunting patrol got to the meadow. He was sure that the meadow would be brimming with prey today, due to the good weather. Maybe another patrol towards the western border as well. The tall trees would hide their pelts as they hunted. Yes, that would work nicely.

Toxiphobia

4 years | Male | Hunter | M: (Dir) Raven. (Ind) Packmates.

-

Toxiphobia stirred to the morning sunlight at the entrance of his den. The rays of light stealthily creeped their way farther into the den with each second that passed, as if it wished to awaken everyone with a bright powerful burning sensation in their eyes. Toxi let out a menacing snarl, his lips peeling back to flash his pure white teeth at absolutely nothing. He lifted his head off the mossy bedding underneath him, his sides heaved out a long sigh as an indication that he was willing to start the day. Since he decided to lay on his side last night, he had to twist his body so that he can keep his head up without straining his shoulders.

Toxi's gaze burned into the entrance for a few seconds, his bloodshot amber eyes narrowed and his ears flattened against his skull. With another sigh, Toxi lifted himself off the comfortable moss, using his front legs first before his hind legs. Then, he inhaled deeply before making his way out of the den, walking with his normal dominant gait and his ears raised. In the corner of his eye, a huge deer skeleton rested, with a few broken bone pieces here and there. It's neck bone was snapped in half due to his rage. He made an amused snort remembering that time.

Toxiphobia then turned to pay attention to the exit, squeezing his whole body tight as he began to squeeze his way through the tunnel. His huge frame brushed against each and every side of the tunnel, recarving the exit to fit him because of the dirt that fell down last night. Pieces of dirt squished beneath his paws, lodging itself between each of his toes and cramming itself all in his recently groomed, black fur. He squeezed his way into the sunlight, which reflected off his damp fur because of how moist it is in his den at this time of day.

When he was almost out, he inched his head out first, examining the area with his still bloodshot orange eyes. The familiar black fur and gray snout of the beta, Raven, caught his eye, and he watched the male make his way towards the stream nearby. His eyes narrowed and his teeth threatened to bare in disgust, but he managed to keep his jaws shut before the beta saw and perhaps got him in trouble. I'd be a better beta. He's soft compared to me.. He dreamed of the day he challenged a higher up wolf, but each dream was filled with his defeat and the other wolves banishing him, even the face of.. that rather important she-wolf.. supporting them in the background. I need.. positive reputation before I challenge..

Toxiphobia slunk out of the den, raising his head and ears and one of his paws, sniffing out the area. Then, he lowered his head and ears before he turned and began to trot towards the stream, his face blank and emotionless. The beta slipped into his view again when he left the cover of his den, so he tried to avoid him and just get to the stream. He wanted to drink water without any possible social interaction with that fiend. Thankfully, the thing left and trotted over the rock and hopped on it, but that didn't mean that he might not try to engage in a conversation. He stopped at the stream's edge when the tip of his front paws was in the water enough for all the dirt stuck in them to wash away. The water was fairly cold right now. He leaned his head down, stopping when his nose was almost touching the water, and began to lap up the water as if he was dehydrated or something. The water splashed up on the fur around his nose. He made a content growling sound as he satisfied his craving for water. When he was finished he stepped back until his paws were out of the water, and just sat down, staring blankly into the landscape past the stream.

Sylvie || Female || 4 || Herbalist || M: Raven (Ind), Toxiphobia (Ind)

A sweet summer breeze of the early morn’ swept through the still slumbering woods, rustling the leaves of trees in a chime-like manner. Various birds began to sing in the trees above, aroused from their slumber from the brush of air wisping past them and through their homes. It could almost be heard as the sound of rejoicing – for the new day or the nice cool breeze. High notes danced about, creating melodies of joy and energy. Low notes were somber in tone yet joyous still, in their own melancholy way.

Many scents were carried along the wind, all pleasant at the moment. Blooming patches of flowers, bitter scents of roots, the calming scent of pine, the cool yet lively smell of ivy, among other things. It would be hard for any not to enjoy these sensations, especially someone as she.

Taking in a long but light breath, the herbalist practically glides across the forest floor. A tune hums out of her vocal cords – its own melody to the harmonious sounds of the birds. Its notes became center stage, catching the attention of all those who could hear such a beautiful sound. Even the plants seemed to turn towards her voice, paying up most attention.

The wind playfully toys with the female’s fluffy cheeks as she huffs out an amused breath at the thought. Now now, that’d be ridiculous.

Her humming comes to a close upon reaching the outer edge of the camp, full well expecting the others to be drawn to her siren song. Social interactions from anyone besides her friends were not exactly in her schedule at the moment. Let alone greetings.

Taking a moment to prepare, Sylvie struts into camp with her head held high – ears upright by leaning back and eyes lidded in a stern manner. Her stride was pompous, elegant, and strong, yet her steps silent and nearly unnoticeable. A little benefit from that little gift of hers. The lavender tied into the fur of her shoulder as well as the other plants decorating her pelt bounced with each step she took, showing off their dazzling colors in contrast to her white pelt. Her tail swished from side to side as she padded towards her den, agitated by any attention she had somehow managed to gain. A few herbs hung from her mouth, bouncing just as her other accessories were. Elderflowers tickled the side of her jaw, yarrow laid on top of its fellow white flower, and goldenrod hung depressingly to the side.

That dark pelted beta could be seen meandering across the camp from the corner of her eye – stern and serious as always – taking his place on flat rock held within the camp. His posture screamed alert, ears upright and attentive, likely waiting for more of his fellow packmates to awaken. There was no doubt that he was good at his job. A formidable beta and a devoted protector he was. Few could ever begin to tread the ground he had covered in his position without stumbling their way through and making a mess of things. Even now, Sylvie could just barely make out the familiar thoughtful, glazed glint in his eyes – a sign of his pondering and planning. Something most would wait to do until it was time for tasks to be assigned.

On the other side, the hulking figure of a particular hunter loomed over the steam. His form all but reverberated at the content growling his emitted, lapping up water like he had just come out of a drought. She couldn’t help but inwardly scoff at this, rolling her eyes back into a more forward position. She wasn’t here to watch some male’s dramatics.

Crossing the threshold of the camp’s center, she brushes past the lush vines hanging in front of the entrance and towards the neatly stored herbs in the back. Gently setting down her gathered stock, she begins to sort – gingerly placing each plant into their respective piles and even nudging some to get a certain look that was simply pleasing to the eye.

Mithra | 4 | F |Lead Sentinal | M: Raven, Sylvie(dir), Toxiphobia(ind)
...
Her eyes flickered open as the soft pale light of the morning filtered through the entrance of her den, grumbling softly as she pushed herself to her paws. Stretching with a groan she frowned at how she seemed to feel more sluggish and stiff as of late, it was starting to worry her. Specially considering at this rate it might impact her ability to do her job, and she couldn't have that.
.
Pushing through the branches Mithra's gaze scanned the camp, squinting against the sunlight she made out the forms of a few wolves who'd been early to rise. Padding into the center of camp she dipped her head to Raven whom was returning from the stream. The beta was likely one of the more respected members in her book, so greeting him in the mornings felt natural. A brief glance to the stream revealed one of the other forms she'd seen moving about, Toxi. Her gaze narrowed briefly before she shook her head, she'd sooner wait to get a drink than have to potentially deal with him this early.
.
Turning she spotted the disappearing form of Sylvie, relieved the medic was up early today she trotted towards the den's entrance. "Sylvie, can I have a moment?" Mithra called peaking her head into the den. "I wanted to know if you might have something that'd help with stiffness or just being sluggish" she asked hesitantly, her ears unconsiously turning back against her head.

Aspen | 8 | M | Hunter | M: Raven, Sylvie/Mithra & Toxiphobia(ind)
...
Grumbling as light hit his eyes, jarring him from sleep, Aspen glared at the den entrance where the light came from. Glancing to the side he could see his sister curled happily into a ball. A brief smile tugged at his mouth before he rose to stretch, pushing his nose into the younger wolf's shoulder. Causing a grumble come from his sister, shaking his head he barked at her to get up before pushing his way out of the den. Blinking briefly at the harsh light Aspen sighed, seemes there were already others awake.
.
Dipping his head to the beta who had taken up a seat beside the rock, Aspen made his way to the stream. Pausing briefly as he passed Toxi, flicking an ear as a sort of informal greeting. He crouched beside the stream, taking a moment to watch the water before lapping at the cold liquid. Satisfied he rose to his paws once more and returned to the camp's center, where he sat off to the side and set about watching for who was next to wake for morning patrols. He ears swivaled at every noise, while he kept himself aware of the beta whom would be assigning patrols.

Aria | 3 1/2 | Apprentice | M: Aspen, Kaido, Raven, Sylvie/Mithra, Toxiphobia(ind)
...
Aria felt the jab of her brother's nose push into her shoulder, pulling her from dream land with an annoyed grumble. She never liked waking for morning patrols, but as an apprentice it was expected. Oh how she missed the days of being able to sleep till noon and not having any responsibilities, but she was too old for that now. Rising to her paws in a stretch she huffed seeing her brother hadn't waited for her. Aria pushed her way out of the den, pausing to let her eyes adjust as she scanned the camp. Looking for a particular red furred hunter, whom was nowhere to be seen. Sighing roughly she made her way to the stream, dipping her head in respect to Raven as she passed him.
.
However on the way she passed the impossing figure of Toxiphobia, fighting the urge to curl her tail to her belly as her ear flattened to her head. She wasn't certain why but the large male had always been intimidating, even scary sometimes. So she lowered her head and rushed past him to the stream, pausing briefly to take a few quick mouthfulls of the cold water. Once she'd finished, Aria turned and rushed back to the camp center where she settled into her usual spot beside her brother. Her ears flicked as she listened to the others beginning to stir, while also fighting off the remainder of sleep that still clung to her body.

Jiro | 4 | M | Sentinel | M: Raven, Toxi, Aspen, Sylvie/Mirtha, Aria (ind)

With soft rays of sunlight grazing his face, Jiro stirred at the sounds of his packmates moving about the camp. His ears twitched at every movement, tracking each member as they went about their morning. One set of footsteps made their way to the stream, its owner lapping at the water before returning to the flat rock. Raven. That was probably his cue to get up.

Rolling off his side, the sentinel let out a massive yawn before dragging himself to his feet. As if to clear his mind and ensure he wouldn’t fall back asleep, he shook himself vigorously, any and all signs of rest retreating back into his thick, gray pelt. Just as he was about to go about his usual stretches, he picked up a faint snarl, causing him to pause in his routine. A few moments later, he heard the earth shift, as if a very large beast was trying to burrow through the ground, intent on bringing everything down with it. In hindsight, this probably wasn’t far from the truth as he recognized the hunter’s strong gait the moment he started moving about camp. Jiro could only shake his head softly. He didn’t understand why the large male insisted on keeping a den with such a small tunnel relative to its occupant. If it were him, he’d widen the sides if only to prevent himself from getting stuck. Although the likelihood of that was low and he was sure the hunter was more than capable of brute forcing his way out, should an emergency arise, the last thing they needed was for one of their powerhouses to be locked in combat against dirt.

Well, whatever. It wasn’t exactly his place to tell a hunter how to live. Not that he expected the dark pelted male to be very receptive anyways. Jiro lowered his chest to the ground, giving his shoulders a nice, deep stretch before doing the same for his back. He stood just inside his den for a moment, taking in the smell of pine and blinking the darkness out of his eyes before brushing past the woven branches that marked its entrance.

Jiro’s gaze immediately settled on the beta perched atop the flat rock near the center of camp. Alert and regal, he lived up to his namesake as his watchful eyes scanned the camp, no doubt patiently waiting for the pack to wake up and get on with their duties. Not too far off was the older hunter Aspen, obediently waiting to be issued the day’s tasks. His ears drew his attention towards the herbalist’s den, a quiet shuffling coming from behind the vines as Sylvie went about her business only to be interrupted as Mirtha, the lead sentinel and Jiro’s direct superior, inquired something about sluggishness. The camp was getting livelier by the second, but the morning hum faded into the background as the gray sentinel headed towards the freshwater stream, passing Aspen’s younger sister Aria on his way and flicking an ear in acknowledgement.

Toxi was already there, the hunter staring off into the distance at who knows what. Jiro nodded his head in a silent greeting but was otherwise careful not to disturb the larger male, keeping a respectful distance as he lapped at the cool water. Yes, this was nice. His thirst satiated, he lowered his muzzle parallel to the water’s surface, delicately hovering his head so that only the tips of the fur beneath his chin dipped beneath the waterline. He closed his eyes, taking in the earthy scents of mud and gravel, letting the gentle current clear his thoughts in preparation for the day.

The Beta Female | Four Years Old | Female | Mentions: Raven (directly) Toxiphobia, & Sylvie
The young female sighed as she padded through the forest, her paws spreading slightly as she felt the earth beneath her paws. It felt refreshing and cool to the touch - and she gave a soft sigh as she sniffed the crisp air of the morning. The birds chirping catching her ears as she made her way back to the base camp. She soon noticed the forms of her fellow pack mates. Raven seemed to be contemplating something on that rock of his - she would speak with him soon. She also notice Toxicphobia growling about something - her eyes slightly narrowing at the notion, she could never get inside the male's mind and hoped he wasn't thinking anything stupid. She gave a soft sigh at the thought ; she didn't have time to think of this- she made her way over the river with the rest of the growing group. Her paw steps silent and graceful as she approached, her body held high as she approached the group and dipped her head in respect at the members that were gathering around. She stepped in the water and and let the cool water dampen her paws ; and she used her tongue to lap the water up and the cool water go down her throat. A relieved sigh escaping her.

Making her way over to Raven she gave a soft smile saying, "Good Morning, Raven - Have you seen the Alphas up yet?" She asked politely and then saying, " have you though about the morning and afternoon patrols yet? I was thinking of letting the apprentices actually do something exciting today besides just watch air assist their mentors to test their skills. Possibly, the apprentices get to lead a patrol themselves to get some experience and prove to their mentors they have learned something. Your thoughts?"

She said looking to the male with a satisfied hum. She wanted to go ahead and get this out of the way before the Alphas woke up and asked. She didn't want to seem incompetent in front of the superiors.
