Forest

You stand under the thick canopy of leaves and notice the sunlight dappling the leaf-littered ground from above. The land is lush, with ferns tucked at the base of every tree, and moss climbing the northern side of every ancient oak. Cats here enjoy a plethora of prey, provided their paws are quiet enough to stalk and catch it. These cats are good, sturdy climbers, and their hearing is as sharp as their claws. They come in a variety of earthy tones, from reds and browns to stripes and patches.

Plains

The land stretches out before you into a vast expanse of open plains. Rolling hills sweep into short, wind-carved bluffs, and clumps of sagebrush break apart the sea of rippling grass. The cats here are known for their speed and intelligence – they must be, to catch their prey in a place with so little cover. Their muted pelts give them an advantage when hunting in the thick fog that rolls over their home early each morning, and their sleek builds enable them to run faster than most of their prey.

The Trench

You approach the edge of the trees but feel compelled to stop there and go no further. Ahead of you is a straight line of tall, looming pine trees. They stand like sentinels, guarding the land beyond - land that slopes downward, out of view, and beyond is a seemingly endless expanse of darkness. You feel like you are being watched. The cats that live here seem to have no problem navigating this darkness. Known for their stealth and dark pelts, these cats are as mysterious as the territory they occupy.

Mountains

Far beyond the plains and forests, a mountain range is silhouetted against the horizon. The peaks at the top seem to glow, the evening sun reflected off the snowy ridges. Rumor has it that there are cats living there, with the thickest of fur and the sharpest of claws of any cat in the valley. These mountain cats are known to be extremely tough, surviving in the harsh cold year after year.

Abandoned Barn

You see what looks like an ancient shack that seems to be leaning slightly. Tall grass and weeds litter the barren lot. The door is slightly ajar, and cats come and go from the opening, though there are many more points of entry from broken boards and sunken earth at the base of the structure. Some of these cats were born here, and some were abandoned by their humans. They seem to coexist peacefully despite the number of different ages, breeds, and family groups, but some show signs that life has not been gentle to them.
