<div style="text-align: center;">Welcome to Xona City.
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">In this wild, nearly lawless city, hoverboard crews are a force to be reckoned with. They race through back alleys and underground at breakneck speeds, risking their lives for power, money, and the thrill of the race. In this age, there are few teens who donÂ’t own a hoverboard. A lot of these kids come from poor backgrounds, and boarding has become a way of life, even a way of survival. The members usually go about their days as normal, but the night is where they really come alive. The citizens of the city have learned to keep off the streets at night as a result, for it becomes a playground, and a battleground, for boarder crews, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time can be disastrous. The police have long since given up breaking up the crews and stopping their races; as long as they avoid causing problems with the public, they will often turn a blind eye.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Some crews are tight-knit groups, practically families. Others simply work together to gain wealth and power. Then there are crews who are everywhere in-between. However, Xona can be a cruel place. The city has come upon rough times, and the citizens are focused on themselves and the people they care for. ItÂ’s the survival of the fittest in this wild city, and this place is where you call home.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Locations<div style="text-align: center;">Feel free to come up with your own locations to add here! Just send me the name and a brief description of the place.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Inner City<div style="text-align: center;">The name is pretty self-explanatory. This is the innermost part of the city, where most of the middle and higher-class citizens live. As a result it's the busiest and most populated area of Xona. It's filled with holographic screens advertising products, towering skyscrapers, and busy streets. The majority of businesses, restaurants, and other establishments are located here. It is not its own city, most people just refer to it as the "Inner City".<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">Seasons Park<div style="text-align: center;">This park is located near the middle of Xona, and is the largest and the most well-kept park in the city. It is huge, filled with trees, open grassy areas, and a large pond. What makes the park so unique is that it features all four seasons, in each of the four corners of the park. You can experience Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring, all in one place.<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">The Backstreets<div style="text-align: center;">This is the general term used to describe the poorer areas, and the outskirts, of the city. The buildings and houses here are smaller and more run-down. The police don't patrol as often in some of these areas, and as a result crime isn't uncommon. Many of the favorite boarding routes are located here, both above and below ground. <div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">The Pit<div style="text-align: center;">Located in the backstreets, this is a popular hang-out place for boarder crews and one of the locations for the monthly gatherings. As the name suggests, the Pit is a deep, wide depression in the ground where a large network of underground tunnels had collapsed. Slabs of broken cement and old metal pipes litter the area and hang out of the sides of the Pit, and some tunnel entrances are unblocked and open. They aren't completely safe, however, so it's enter-at-your-own-risk. <div style="text-align: center;">

<div align="center">Rhys D’ angelos | Male | 21 | Bookkeeper | Mentions: Open Italicization=Flashbacks
<div align="center">
<div align="center">After hours of contemplation, Rhys allowed himself to collapse into his beds comforting surface. A look of ennui displayed across his unblemished face as he rejoiced in its welcoming presence. “Nothing beats a nice cool shower, and clean sheets,” He smiled, taking a handful of linen and bring it to his nose as he inhaled the clean aroma. Normally, Rhys wouldn’t pay much attention, if any at all, to the smallest of details. However, after an extended period of having doctors consistently poke at his useless limbs, whilst murmuring amongst themselves, Rhys was more appreciative of his adobe. <div align="center">
<div align="center">The overzealous cheering of the crowd resonated loudly in his ears. It was a mixture of —-He could easily sense as their eyes continued to rake through his body, judging, presuming, but most importantly, expecting him to secure their victory. The humidity in the air was particularly thick that night and beads of sweat were prominent along his forehead. It was only a matter of seconds before he would cross the line and claim yet another win for The Watchers. <div align="center">
<div align="center">Unbeknownst to him, a blocker from the opposing team had increased significantly on his tail and was only a mere couple feet from reaching him. Or perhaps, he was simply to caught up in his egoistic celebration that he had refused to acknowledge his presence? Regardless, Rhys had barely missed the finish line when he was abruptly rammed from his board. Apart from the brief glimpse of his ‘attacker’, Rhys hadn’t captured much before ultimately hitting the buildings corner with a blaring snap. His spiraling was later followed by excruciating pain in his lower back, only for it to fade away just as quickly as he had been subjected to the pain. <div align="center">
<div align="center">Within a couple minutes of shutting his eyes, Rhys awoke in a cold sweat, eyes narrowed down to the point his iris only resembled a thin slit, whereas his chest rose and fell in a uneven pattern. “Why—“ He huffed, struggling to get the words off his chest, but in his frenzied state it was close to impossible, as he was still intent on his previous recollection. Instead, he brought his palm to his face and shielded his eyes from the sunlight that protruded through the blinds. His eyes were briefly drawn to his window when the sound of light tapping came from its direction. His short locks casually fell over his eyes when he shifted onto his side. “Must be the wind,” He sighed, trying to come up with an excuse not to leave the comfort of his bed.— The tapping persisted, and Rhys was inclined to investigate. With a leisure push of his hand, the windows pried open, revealing nothing but the rising sun in the distance. “Will I continue to avoid it just as I have avoided to—“ <div align="center">
<div align="center">His sentence was cut short when a woman who appeared to be a helper of sorts rushed into his bedroom, “The shop will be opening soon, perhaps its best if you hurry down. Can’t keep the customers waiting.” She suggested meekly, with a hint of sarcasm intermixed in her voice. Rhys had offered a simple nod of his head, before sitting up and working his way onto his wheelchair, which tended to hover a couple feet from the ground. Nowadays it was only thing that gave him that satisfactory feeling, that his board had 2 years prior to his accident. Although it’s Presence was vague, it was still there. Just not as prominent as he wished it would be. <div align="center">
<div align="center">Despite rinsing his face, Rhys still appeared to be somewhat disoriented when he entered the Bookstore. He proceeded to to unlock the entrance and prepare for the arrival of customers that would never come. The shop stuck out like a sore toe, compared to the other buildings. Then again, Rhys had decided to open up the Book store for that sole reason. He didn’t want to be disturbed, and selling books seemed like the most reasonable option. Given the fact Xona was one of the poorer areas, he doubted anyone would want to spend bread money on books that offered nothing but common knowledge.<div align="center">
<div align="center">[ I tried lmao Hopefully it isn’t just a jumbled mess. Tried putting it together whilst dealing with a loud class (x]

Grayson “Lorde” Brixton | Male | 15 | Rogue

A rush of adrenaline picked up as the boy soared through an alley. He needed somewhere to hide and fast. Otherwise he probably wouldn’t be able to board for a few days. Selling intel was risky, and he was about to pay for it if he wasn’t careful.

He gave a quick glance below him at his board. The Spartan symbol staring straight back at him. He was supposed to get it removed, couldn’t do it though. Anyways he wasn’t going to get rid of the tattoo either. The old symbol rested on his right wrist in black ink with a slight trace of blue.

The boarders behind him were out of practice, possibly as they continued to slow down behind them. Or maybe he was just going so fast. He reached the more populated town portion and as soon as he hit the sidewalk took off running. His board underneath his arm he opened the nearest door and slipped inside. It slammed shut behind him. Pushing himself against the wall he looked over his shoulder out the window. The few who had been chasing him continued straight on.

Giving a breath of relief he turned his board in his hands checking for damage. With none to be found he finally looked straight forward. A bookstore. That’s something you didn’t see everyday. The boy didn’t spend much time in the inner portions. The backstreets was where his type of racing went on. High bets, high stakes, sometimes death.

Deciding against leaving yet, in case they were still about he started down a shelf of books. The dusty smell reminding him of something that was so far in his past.

<div align="center">Just as he was about to retrieve a book from one of the lower shelves, the sound of scrambling feet caught his attention, but only for a brief moment as he was more concerned over the fact the genres had been misplaced. Once he decided they had been placed in a suitable manner, Rhys casually worked his way up the aisle where he came across a boy. He didn’t think much of it at first, as he was used to getting occasional student customers. But this close to summer? “Are you looking for a particular book?” Rhys asked, raising a questionable eyebrow in the boy’s direction. <div align="center">
<div align="center"> “If that’s the case, I’m sure you’ll find books to your liking in the next aisle over,” He said, not bothering to wait for his response. His face remained void of emotion as he permitted his eyes to briefly linger over his board; the object of his hatred and demise. After making a mental note of his possible status, Rhys switched his approach towards him completely, “But if that isn’t the case, I’ll have to ask you to leave.” His voice was grave now, and his eyes contained a glint of pity. “This isn’t a playground after all, and I can’t simply house runaways.” He sighed, referring the group of people he had previously seen whiz by the shop. <div align="center">
<div align="center">It didn’t take him long before he realized he should have been at school to begin with. “Plus,” Rhys picked off, only this time moving past the boy who was clearly hiding from something. “You should be at school anyways. Not playing with something so stupid as a Hover board.” The last word left a bitter taste in his mouth, and his dismay towards it was evident. Rhys wasn’t sure how he would take to him insulting his board, and presumable livelihood, nor did he care at this point. In his own way he was only trying to help him, by lessening one obstacle in his life; that being racing. He wouldn’t wish his condition on anyone.

He was soon approached by a man who was in a wheelchair. A bit uncommon, but who else would be running a bookstore. Upon hearing his question he prepared for answer but the man kept talking. The man looked rather hardened and Grayson turned to look at him when his tone changed. A bit odd for a dude in a wheelchair.

Upon him asking him to leave the boy gave a slight nod. “"Yeah, sure man. Just give me a second."” Stretching out his knee he gave it a quick rub. Old injury, running not stretched probably didn’t help him much.

As the man wheeled past him he caught his words. Graysons eyes narrowed and he cocked his head to the side.
“"A stupid thing, huh. And your life is so much better right? Rolling around and shelving books...”"

Grayson knew he was picking a fight, but what was this guy gonna do? Stand up? Right. He was in a wheelchair for a reason. Oh, for a reason....

“"Let me guess... You had a little falling off with your board? Just a hunch. Please correct me if I’'m wrong.”"

<div align="center">Had it not been his impediment, Rhys would have been at the kids throat by now. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you how to hold your tongue?” He said, the corners of his lips vaguely quirking in a smile. “It’s not polite to ask personal questions like that,” The young man paused to analyze his clenched fist one last time, before glancing over his shoulder. “Especially if the person you’re asking is someone you just met.” Upon delivering his short speech, Rhys moved over and extended his arm in the exits direction in a manner that suggested urgency.
<div align="center">
<div align="center">“Then again, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was your tongue who got you in the mess you’re currently in.” The burst of energy that had radiated off from him piqued Rhys’ curiosity, but only to the extent he would acknowledge for a short period of time. “You’ve got spunk,kid. I’ll give you that much.” Rhys complimented, though it was more a flaccid remark. “But I cant afford to have problems with any crews at the moment.” His eyes dropped to his limp appendages when he mentioned the group of boarders as if to emphasize his point.
<div align="center">
<div align="center">Rhys seemingly had a change of heart in a matter of a couple seconds, as he returned to his usual spot behind the counter. “If you want to stay, you’ll have to purchase a book.” Only occasionally would he steal glances in the boy’s direction. “I don’t do anything for free, and I’m basically putting my hide out there for you.” One simply couldn’t tell whether he was joking or being serious, as his voice always seemed to remain its same deadpanned, and his static face wasn’t necessarily much help either.<div align="center">
<div align="center">“And honestly, yes, I’d like to think I’m better off than most.” He replied to his question from earlier in what appeared to be in a somewhat ‘posh’ manner. “I don’t have to look over my shoulder every 10 seconds, and I always have beautiful women coming over to check up on me.” His last comment wasn’t entirely true, as the women be revered to had been nurses obligated to check on his condition on a daily basis. “What more can a guy want, hm?”

Grayson "Lorde" Brixton |Male|15|Rogue Mentions: Rhys

Grayson gave a slight scoff at his words. His dark green eyes focusing on the now smirking bookkeeper.
"You mustn't blame my mother. It's hard to teach from the grave".
He hoisted his board in his arms again and began to trace the Spartan symbol on his board. Typically Rogue's didn't have a symbol on their board. He was just too 'loyal' or so he told himself to take it off.

He glanced at the doors as they were motioned to, but he had a feeling the conversation wasn't necessarily over yet. He gave a slight grin, his tongue did get him in quite a bit of unneeded trouble. Grayson didn't really didn't have a off switch in that department.

He walked over with a slight limp that always followed him around to the counter and leaned with his right elbow. Listening to his offer he gave a slight nod. It was doable. Anyways, he'd been up all night. Going straight into another race wouldn't do him much good.

"Oh?" He tilted his head a slight bit. "Beautiful women? I might just have to stay around for a little while longer."

He tapped his fingers on the counter for a second before analyzing the store. Without looking at the bookkeeper he inquired once more.
"What happened anyways?"

In a blur of grey and green Ash zipped around the corner of the underground tunnels, going at a speed that was in no way considered safe. He crouched low, fingers gripping the edge of his board as he took the turn at a sharp angle, a shower of sparks lighting up the dimly lit area as the bottom of the board brushed the wall. It was his grey and gold board, not as fast as his other but it still got the job done. Ash's laughter echoed behind him as he straightened again, leaning forward to coax more speed out of his board. His face was alight with adrenaline, a wide grin spread across his face, and his body was languid and relaxed as he raced, flowing with the board like it was an extension of his body. His eyes, however, were sharp and calculating, locked on the figure in front of him with a steely intensity.

The finish line was fast approaching, and Ash could see in the way his opponent leaned forward that he knew it too and was eager to end it. Ash's grin widened, unconcerned. He waited for the precise moment, then abruptly changed his stance; he moved his left foot, the leading foot, forward a step, and adjusted his right foot for better balance behind him. The Ash leaned forward, urging his board into a greater burst of speed. He caught up to his opponent quickly, and even paused for a brief moment when he lined up with the guy. Ash lifted his hand, flashing his fingers in a peace sign with a playful grin before darting ahead, crossing the line a second before the other.

The tunnel opened into a larger space, but the two boarders still had to pull up quickly to avoid slamming against the wall directly opposite the tunnel's exit. Ash pulled up in a smooth curve, turning to face his opponent. A few moments later three more boarders darted out of the tunnel, forcing Ash to fly up a bit to avoid a collision. He had kind of forgotten they were racing too, in all honestly. Him and the other guy had been in the lead the entire time. They were all a part of a small crew that Ash had challenged simply for the fun of it, just for the sake of something to do. He grinned happily at the group, who returned the look with scowls. "Well that was fun, thanks for the race. Better luck next time!" He said in a bright tone and with a brief wave, before turning and quickly disappearing down another tunnel. Ash hadn't wanted anything if he won, he had plenty of points as it was, so there was no reason to stick around. Besides, he had more important things to do. Like finding food for example; he was starving.

Ash quickly navigated his way out the of the tunnels, and before long was above ground again, blinking to adjust to the light. Checking his bracelet, he noted it was still fairly early and he sighed. He had always been more of a morning person, up with the sun most days, and the same was true for today. Tucking his hands into his pockets, Ash leaned forward to get moving again, cruising down the sidewalk in search for somewhere good to eat as he whistled a popular tune.

<div align="center">A pang of guilt shot through him when he mentioned his mother was dead. “I had no idea,” Rhys murmured, trying to sound as apologetic as he possibly could, but had been betrayed by the lack of emotion on his detached face. Then again he assumed the last thing the boy wanted was others pity. “Guess that makes two of us.” Rhys would normally avoid small talk with his customers, but given the situation they found each other in, it would seem it was inevitable.
<div align="center">
<div align="center">His unusual eyes lingered over the spot he had traced with his finger. “You’re in a crew?” Although he wasn’t necessarily interested in knowing what crew he belonged to, Rhys couldn’t help but mull the sign in his head. Something about its design seemed familiar. He just couldn’t pit his finger on it. “No surprise there. You crew members are always getting yourselves in to trouble.” A bitter chuckle escaped his lips at his remark.
<div align="center">
<div align="center">“Don’t get your hopes up, kid.” His eyes contained a sudden liveliness when he turned to look at the young boarder. “I doubt they’d pay any attention to some scrawny hooligan.” Rhys offered a slight cock of his chin, as if challenging the boy. Who had could easily tower over him, given his current condition. “Get a proper job, and the Maybe you’ll stand a chance.”

<div align="center">His question invoked a melancholy over Rhys. What happened? “Hell, that’s what I’d like to know too.” He said in response to his inquiry.
