Once, during the times of war and famine across the kingdom's lands there were 5 special people blessed with giants of mechanical animals at their sides that worked with them and were at their command. These 5 promised safety, and peace for as long as they could manage to the people, and those people listened. Having been plagued and infested with the aftermath of battle after battle and none won they had been close to that of desperate. They helped to drive back an invading army force that was slowly driving the whole area to ruins and transforming it to something even darker, more chaotic, and would surely bring things to ruin within seconds should they achieve total control of the whole land. It took 8 Years of fighting for the 5 specials to kill the mighty forces and slay the 3 ringleaders. They brought justice to the lands once more. But people were selfish and greedy, jealous, Skeptical, and very easily misguided

Some thought, after the few years of peace, that the guardians would betray them one day, knowing they had such power at their hands with their mechanical partners at their sides. Others were jealous of their powers and the greatness they have achieved, the rest viewing them as worthless now that the threat was gone and that they didn't need them anymore. Nevertheless their views, with Swords and weapons, and battalions in tow, they banished them. Bringing with them a magic they had been developing in their peaceful era that the 5 had never seen, they sealed them all away, in that of some pocket dimension by a wizard, wiped from the face of the earth and their stories being told in a dark light. Nothing more than menaces of trickery, deception and out for glory outweighing the stories telling of their selfless actions and the armies they faced for their kingdom.

It's about 500 years later. The guardians have been assumed to have perished, lost in time and forgotten for seemingly an eternity until now. A spell tucked inside of a book belonging to that of a wizard from old, one that was long lost and thrown away by the people after losing their faith, had been used. By doing so, two of the guardians of olde have been broken of their chains and have returned to the real world, but now must deal with what to do next in the presence of the two clearly inexperienced children that summoned them. With a threat of giant mechanical beasts resembling those of which they used to command arriving on the horizon, they can either choose to turn their backs on humanity like they did them or hold faith towards the new generation

Akilles Jonah Uraso | Accidental Summoner

AJ was beginning to find reading all of these old books quite tiresome.

He wasn’t even sure why he had agreed to sit and study these old texts, though he supposed that it was rare for him to decline doing something with his friends. Noah seemed to be enjoying it, he was much more of a thinker than Akilles was and was probably having the time of his life sitting here. AJ was not used to studying things, he left that up to everyone else, and thinking so hard was beginning to make his head hurt. Hopefully Noah would get bored soon too and they could leave.

The building they were sat in was one that you would not expect to see a person like AJ in. Though quite unassuming on the outside, the old library was a treasure trove for people who loved reading. The bookcases towered to the high ceiling and every shelf was filled to the brim with books. The few people that did sit in here were often surrounded by the piles of books they had been reading and to be honest, it was quite interesting watching the piles grow to shelter certain people from the outside world. Looking around almost made AJ wish he was a book person, his house was a perfect distance from this place and he imagined that if he could stand to read for long periods he probably would enjoy the library a lot more. As it were, he could not stand to read for more than five minutes so unfortunately his book person dream was not something that could be achieved any time soon.

A low and quiet sigh escaped his lips as he leaned back, hands planted behind him to support his weight. If he was going to stay here for long, he might as well make use of this time and at least try to find an interesting book. It couldn’t be that hard, the library was almost bursting at the seams it was so full of these books. His eyes wandered up to the top of the bookcase in front of him, none of the book covers really catching his eye. They were all so thick and intimidating, he’d rather read something with few words and no complicated moral messages behind the words.

There was a pile of books next to him, and without really thinking he picked up the top one. It was one of the thickest books he had ever seen and at once he wanted to put it down and not even think about trying to read it, however once he opened it he could see that there were barely any words in it at all. So how had it gotten to be so lengthy? Skimming slowly through the paragraphs, it looked like there were barely any comprehensible sentences. What on earth was ‘Plant growth, not effective without intention’ supposed to mean?

He nudged Noah, pointing at the massive book in his hands with his head. “Noah, look at this one.” Transferring the book to his left hand, he pointed at a sentence with his right, “What is ‘Summon one bolt at a rough spot, very risky’ meant to mean?”. He hadn’t even tried to pronounce the words that were above each of these sentences, they seemed to be in some other language as they made no sense to him at all.

Despite him not really understanding the meanings, this book was one of the only interesting books he had ever read in his life. It was amusing how little sense it made, and he wondered who had written it. There was no author anywhere. The cover of the book was black and it was leatherbound, with gold lettering spelling out some more words in that strange language. If there had been an author on the cover, the lettering had been scratched out somewhere.

“This is one of the stranger books in this library for sure.”

bleh I do not like this at all but it's the basic stuff down. my next posts will definitely be better written and longer, it's just always the starting posts that trip me up :)

Noah Novalièr - Accidental Summoner
---~~~•~~~---

Noah was sitting silently amongst the library he was currently sitting at, gaze focused so intensely onto the page before him that it was somewhat of a miracle the paper wasn't currently burning into dusty grey ashes to blend with the already darkly colored book cover. Although it was hard, the creases in the book's spine made it known it was well read along with the little crumples in the pages and indents of past folds readers before him had made upon the tawny colored paper scribbled on with ebony. Noah wouldn't exactly say he would be considered that of a bookworm, as the kind of stereotypical description of one usually consisted of someone always in solitude, buried with their nose in some fashion of book whether it be academic or pure fantasy, a pushover that was often teased for doing such a thing and picked on by others, scrawny enough and probably pale from not being outside too much or working out, knowledgeable, but a know-it-all all the same. Thinking about it, Noah was slightly disappointed to say he didn't differ from that generic description. Besides perhaps the fact they usually wore glasses. He was scrawny and usually lived in solitude, though the latter he blamed on his parents being so protective over him so often. He supposed it wasn't their fault but still, it was a shame he would have to plan some sort of daring escape (he just has low stamina-) to try and leave and enjoy himself

Though he guessed what differed him from that was the fact he did actually like staying somewhat active in what he did, whether it was practicing his Swordsmanship outside in the field that was nearby where his house laid or sneaking out to do something with friends which he was actually doing currently. While the old library usually wasn't a place many inhabited as there were stacked bookcases with old texts some would probably find boring or others were just repulsed by the idea of finding dust around or perhaps some sort of vermin, Noah hoped if people just gave it more of a chance other than stupid late night dares that they'd find this place to actually be that of absolutely wonderful. A frown might be present on his face, but internally he was absolutely beaming with how much hidden information each book could and had so far contained to him. It was much like the other people here that he had a small fort of books, although a bit shorter seeing as he was also a short person, surrounding both him and his friend A.J. of which he had dragged with him to this location. Noah felt bad, he truly did as knowing A.J. he was probably bored out of his mind and he had promised to himself 2 books ago that it'd be the last one before standing and leaving through the dark oak doors to do some sort of other activity, but he was feeling content, serene even and selfish as it was he couldn't find the means to stand and stray from the texts surrounding him

Though he slightly startled when he had felt a nudge, Noah was quick to calm once only seeing it was his friend A.J. who he had dragged along to a place that probably wasn't in his zone of comfort. The thought made him frown a little deeper, but he pushed the thought aside for what he could have possibly asked of him and lo and behold it was a book. It was the fact that despite the book he had been reading being old, the book in particular that his friend held looked actually old, ancient almost and it garnered his attention almost immediately as he gently folded the corner of the page he was currently on before closing it and setting it aside. "Where'd you find this?" Noah asked, leaning in a little bit to see the writing of the text better. The pages were definitely worn down with what looked like tearing even at the edges of some pages, and whatever was written seemed to be in old ink as some words he couldn't even make out. Or perhaps it was his bad eyesight? Dear goodness he was going blind. Ahem anyways. Noah repeated what his friend had said to him in his head once, twice, then once more for good measure before he tilted his head a little bit in contemplation as he tries to make sense of it

"Bolt of what though?" Was the first thing the brunette asked, doubtful that A.J. might know but asking for his friends thoughts nevertheless. "Whatever it is, it's dangerous at the least as it says risky but still..." He trailed off a bit, puzzled. The book looked fairly old, and he hasn't seen it before but the writing at the top before it was something he didn't even know how to pronounce. Sbineindk, it read, but for the sake of avoiding public humiliation he wants to avoid trying to say such words. Noah made a gesture for A.J. to hand him the book so he could get a better read on it, eager to try and learn whatever it meant or what else the book could possibly contain though he considered the thought it would take a few days judging on how thick it was and by the fact it seemed written in an unfamiliar language. He balanced it on his knee between the two of them as to make it so they could both be able to at least try and make out what it said. "Magic perhaps? But people haven't used it for decades…" He flipped to a random page, on it a word looking much less intimidating to try and say and below it very faded red ink he found he couldn't make out but stood out from the ebony words that dotted the rest of the paper. He gave up shortly after seeing it to try and make out what it said, and instead focused his attention onto the more deciferable words. "Breaks previous spell and summons ---," the rest was a mix of indecipherable language and faded ink that made it nearly impossible to read. More curious now, Noah flipped the page back one to try and see what the previous spell was only to see it ripped out. Perhaps someone in those times thought the spell to dangerous? Or took it with them? Whatever it was, the spell that broke the missing pages was still here but close to indecipherable. Or at least he assumed they were spells

Akilles Jonah Uraso | Accidental Summoner

The pages of the book were strange once you gave the thought some context. For a supposedly antique book, the pages were as fresh and clean as a book straight off the press. But it did have that weird cover, and it was in the antique section. Perhaps it was a copy? Or some elaborate prank that someone with a lot of time on their hands had pulled. Whatever the reason, thinking too hard was tiring AJ out and currently he wasn’t in the mood to be reasoning. He had one of the smartest people he knew right beside him, what was the point in thinking for himself?

Akilles went through life in a similar manner to right now. Surrounding himself with smart people seemed to be the way to go in order to survive, he had no need for humiliating himself by attempting to think fully on his own. Whenever he tried he always lost focus shortly after or his head started to hurt, and when he read for too long the words would begin to swim around on the pages. It wasn’t a problem, however, if he was with the right crowd. He’d played along with his naturally slow nature and made sure that everyone he talked to was well aware of the fact that AJ was completely incapable on his own. Before long, people didn’t even try to have him do things that required brain power and instead relied on him for the things he could do. Like moving around heavy objects or lifting people up. He was good at those sorts of things and life with his friends became a mix of friendship and partnership. If everyone did the logic crap for him, he could easily do the heavy lifting. That was why his main crowd more or less had Noah’s physique. Small and scrawny. If he’d decided to hang out with people similar to him, god knows where he’d be. Not in the old library that’s for sure.

He didn’t really hang out in places like this, apart from when his friends (Noah in particular) dragged him there. He preferred to be in his own element, rooms with heavy things in them. That way he could actually be helpful, instead of sitting here with a book he didn’t understand in his hands whilst he let Noah decipher it. Not that he was complaining, it was just rather dull. He wasn’t the sharpest tool in the box, but he was still a consciousness. He still required mental stimulants. If he wasn’t holding this book, he’d probably be twiddling his thumbs. Speaking of the book, he could just about now tell that it was an antique after all. For however pristine it appeared, the smell was unmistakeable. It was a mystery as to how it looked so good though, the thought of magic crossing and then at once leaving his mind. Magic hadn’t been used for decades, and in his mind an antique book was one that was anywhere older than ten. It was most likely just a case of the librarian really favouring this book and making sure that it was kept in perfect condition. He wasn’t aware of how exactly that would work, but maybe if he worked in a library he would figure out their secrets. Or they could just tell him. That would be preferrable.

As Noah seemed to want the book, AJ passed it over to him without a second thought. It was almost nature for AJ to obey his friends’ words, it was just a given in their relationships. If his friends did the brainy stuff, he’d do the muscular work. And he counted thinking of what to do as brainy stuff. Noah had previously asked where he had found the book, and in typical AJ fashion he simply gestured vaguely with his head. It was very murky as to whether he meant the floor, one of the piles of books, a shelf or even a person but he was sure that Noah – of all people – could deduce what he had meant. Akilles definitely put Noah on a pedestal, expecting him to know everything and be his friend sized provider of information but so-far this hadn’t let him down. If Noah didn’t know the answer to a question, he’d rather believe that the question was stupid and didn’t have an answer rather than even think that his friend didn’t know something. It was easier that way.

He mumbled what Noah had said to himself. “Magic hasn’t been used in decades.” And tried to chew it over in his mind. What else could the author have meant? And how could they even try to summon something without the use of magic at all? Did they use willpower? That didn’t seem very efficient in his opinion, however humble it might be. As Noah flipped the pages, a particular set of writing caught his eye. Red handwriting stood out from the black print. If he thought too much, AJ might’ve said that the red words seemed to have been added as an afterthought, but he didn’t think too much so he didn’t say a word. Instead, he leaned in in order to understand what the text said. Noah had the same thought as he did, and flipped over the page but it was ripped out, and for the first time AJ felt a pang of despair over the loss of knowledge. Just when it was getting interesting, too. He pointed a finger at the neat words just above the hurried red handwriting. “How do you pronounce that?” It seemed to be easier to pronounce than some of the previous words, and if anyone would be able to say it, it was definitely Noah. Even if he couldn’t, AJ was certainly not about to attempt it.

still not perfect, but I'm slowly getting back into the groove. feel free to tell me if I need to add anything :)

Noah Novalièr - Accidental Summoner
---~~~•~~~---

Noah lightly brushed his hand over the scribbled writing on the old page, the color anything but white like when spilling coffee onto fresh paper and the edges ripped or fringed in a matter that either showed age or that the book had once been well loved, perhaps it meant both? Nevertheless of the wonders the other pages could possibly hold and how eager he was to try and decipher it all, he made an effort to look where his friend gestured with his head after he had asked where he had originally gotten such a book, and unsurprising for his more physically oriented friend, it was a vague kind of gesture. Noah deduced it was either from one of the two equally tall piles near where he had nodded, both quite impressive in height but nowhere near as tall as the ones surrounding the other people gathered in the library, or from the much smaller pile consisting of maybe 5-7 books on the low light wooden table that made up a small bit of the book fort partly surrounding them. Either way, he gave A.J. a quick smile to show he appreciated it before turning to the mystery at hand. It wasn't simply the age that had caught Noah's initial attention though nor was it the strange language it was written in, it was the thought of it having actual magic spells engraved onto the differently textured paper before him. He had briefly considered the fact this was a book someone has written as a joke, but why make it so lengthy then? So real? From the worn pages to the whole other language and different but beautiful all the same cover that stood out from the rest should an array of books be spread out before him

If this was some sort of joke, then Noah honestly wouldn't care. The fact of the quality put into it was impressive in itself and the thought of magic, real, genuine magic being contained inside a simple book of all things and his friend having stumbled upon it was exciting enough for him to discard such thoughts in his wonder. Disappointing or not, whatever this would lead to would be more interesting than whatever he was reading, already spiking his growing excitement. Now, Noah himself knew very, very little about magic as it had been used over centuries ago in the time of what he assumed were Wyvern and knights in gleaming armor atop mighty steeds and wars for kingdoms across vast desolate battlefields, but it was rude to assume such a thing in his opinion, so he had tried looking into it once only to turn up with nothing. He never found how long it had once taken someone to learn such spells containing such powerful properties, or if someone was simply born with it, nor was he aware of how the art had even started. The small boy's only knowledge about the subject was that people used it a long, long time ago for both selfish and honorable ways until it slowly dwindled away after a particularly powerful magic had been used against an evil. Now, the fact that one page was ripped out, and for the casting of a spell the next page supposedly broke, was disappointing to him. Sure, he was a bit frustrated, but disappointment was a better word for the scenario before him. Perhaps other pages would also be missing or ripped out? Ruined beyond repair even? AJ was the one who snapped him back to reality, and he quickly shook his head a little before looking down towards where his friends finger pointed towards tilting his head as he squinted his eyes to try and properly read what it said because for however neat the handwriting was, the print was somewhat small compared to normal text or even the font size of the book he had once been reading

Bduxdjnpwjid, it read. Gibberish if you asked him. Noah went over it in his head several times, trying to process the word, then possible ways to pronounce it before finally huffing and drawing himself up taller with a breath. "Um… Vux-zeh-pwuh-heed???" Ridiculous, but it was something. Noah huffed as nothing happened, only feeling stupid for trying as he glanced at AJ before looking closer at the words trying to string them together differently inside of his head. Honestly, it could be pronounced in all sorts of ways, but magic probably required the exact pronunciation to be able to work or something very close to it at the very least. The lanky male grabbed a bookmark from next to him laying down on the dark mahogany floors, the colors it consisted of standing out amongst the dark wood, and bookmarked the page before closing the book and standing. If he was about to make a fool of himself by trying to pronounce some weird language then he'd rather do it outside, besides he figured it would be better, however much he loves libraries such as this one, to have some fresh air in contrast to the stuffy air conditioning running in the background only adding onto the warm and somewhat dusty space. Hoping AJ would follow with the thought of wanting out of being inside, Noah quickly stood afterwards and made sure he didn't try and pick up the book with him as he stood as his mind was unsure at first if he even had the strength to lift it. He could carry it, but it wasn't likely he would be able to do so for long between the fact he was anything but physically fit and the book being rather thick and with it, heavy

Noah sighed, gripping the book and lifting it with a grunt so he could place it book onto the low wooden table that was nearest to him in defeat, the same one the small pile of books were, and looked to AJ silently asking for help carrying such a thing trusting his friend to get the gist of the message before starting to shuffle towards the doors that would lead out, looking over his shoulder once to see if AJ was following him before stopping right before he would have bumped head first into the glass that they consisted of. Oh boy, the sun seemed to be setting in contrast to how high it had once been inside of the sky when first arriving and Noah winced slightly at the thought of him having spent so much time here. Tomorrow, he promised himself, he would try and find something fitting more of A.J.'s style. The brunette had been most often lost in a book by himself, sitting quietly at a table away from others before he had met what he considered his best friend, and guilt took him as he hadn't made time to consider his feelings despite the other usually just going with things. Though he wouldn't allow himself to dwindle on the thought much farther. Pushing the glass doors open and stepping into the last remains of sunlight as the burning orb in the sky started making its descent below the horizon, not going as far as to paint the sky crimson reds yet and only now just seeing the barest hint of orange, he glanced right before striding over to a grassy area by the library and sat down under the shade of one of the tall oak trees glancing to see if A.J. had followed him or where he might be

Akilles Jonah Uraso | Accidental Summoner

It wasn't often that ancient books captured AJ's attention, but this one had. The ripped out page, the words written in a strange language, the warnings they all built up into one big mystery. Part of him wondered if this was just a practical joke, but there was something radiating off of it. Something that even Akilles could feel. Something that just had to prove that the book was not a hoax. He couldn't help but wonder, though, why the book had been so obviously placed on one of the piles. For such an old and crumbled text it seemed strange that it had been the last thing someone had looked at before leaving the library. Why this book? Had the last reader been the one who ripped out the page? So many questions were beginning to make his head hurt. He hadn't focused this much on one thing in all of his life.

It was remarkably easy for him to float through life without a thought in his head. AJ had, luckily, been blessed with a wonderful gut instinct and this definitely made things much less complicated. Noah was intelligent, there was no doubt about it, and that meant that it was almost natural how they existed in their friendship. The brain and the brawn. They were almost stereotypes, slim Noah with his head always buried in a book and his stocky oaf friend. Not that that description bothered AJ. He was thick-skinned, something he was quite proud of though he would never say that. It wasn't often that comments affected him, and sometimes subtle insults would just fly straight over his head. Or at least, he would pretend that they did.

He was smarter than he appeared.

Kind of.

Noah tried to pronounce the word most obviously written, coming up with a garble of letters that AJ was sure hadn't even been in the word in the first place. Though he couldn't really blame Noah, it certainly wasn't the easiest word to read. Whoever had invented the words used for spellcasting had really had it out for people. Thinking of spellcasting set off a whole new train of thought. Magic wasn't really talked about now, in fact he had no idea how it worked. Were people born with the ability or was it learned? Was there anybody left with magic? Regardless of the answer, AJ couldn't really be bothered to think too hard about it. Noah had gestured for him to pick either the low wooden table or the book up. For once he was forced to use his head, and after a second he picked the book up and followed Noah outside.

The sun was beginning to set, had they really spent that long in the library? It did feel like they had been stuck in there forever, but he was still quite surprised to actually see evidence of that feeling. Following Noah onto the grassy area, he awkwardly plonked himself down next to his friend and set the book down. Opening it to where Noah had placed his bookmark he bent forward, nose almost touching the page as he strained to see precisely what each letter was. There seemed to be some strange accents above some letters, accents he had at first attributed to dirt in the dim light of the library. "Bhux-duyin-pwid." He sounded fairly confident in this pronunciation, though inwardly he was just as confused as Noah.

It was a strange coincidence that that happened to be the correct pronunciation.

wow 600 words, what a brilliant length. sorry this took so long to get up - i'll also probably be editing this to actually make sense but at least this is something i guess

Rellodeen Kallamar - Guardian of Olde
---~~~•~~~---

Rello didn't remember much, though she supposed she didn't have much to begin with anyways, both to her name and to her surroundings. When one was thrust suddenly inside of a space filled with black and silence after standing milliseconds before a roaring, angry crowd, it would definitely disorient you. As for what she was able to recall, it was some simple facts. Her name, age, her mech, past memories, everything, except to why the crowd had been angry in the first place. She even recalled, with something of slight horror, some people crying, perhaps even full on sobbing, as they spat her and her fellow guardians name with such venom, such hate. Rello had to stop herself from flinching from the thought as she soon shook her head, clearing it of the thoughts. Such thinking would get her nowhere, considering she had been stuck inside of here for what she assumed nothing more than a few hours perhaps. Rellodeen had only realized that the others were here with her, excluding her and the others mechs, an hour prior. Though she would usually prioritize Vaeltaa Zwaard, she brushed them aside for now in favour of finding a way out of this mysterious space, though could do little with what little magic knowledge she had. Rello much preferred the crossbow at her side than complicated magic that took years to master, while it was indeed powerful, many had told her she seemed to have a natural talent with her long ranged weapon now strapped across her back overlapping the arrows

Perhaps one of the others would have a clue to how to escape such space. It was black, and yet she could see every feature of herself perfectly fine, as if standing under a spotlight despite the floor being as dark as the void itself. Additionally, the others she could also see just as clearly. Was there an end to the space? Rello couldn't see any walls, and frankly she didn't fancy the idea of walking in a random direction in hopes of eventually bumping into one especially considering the magic some of the angry mob had muttered was unlike any she herself had ever heard. Rellodeen didn't study magic, but she knew enough to know that some of those words were apart of the category of 'never say when using magic', words she knew the magic casters in their group avoided well. Had the villagers been daft? Brain dead?! It was dark magic. The kind that caused curses and mangled bodies, the kind that left towns nothing more than a pit of Ash in a matter of seconds. The kind the opposing side, the ringleaders themselves, had used in the battlefield and one that sent horrific shivers down her spine despite her 8 Years, heck, even more, of fighting inside of the battlefield.

A thought suddenly struck her.

Did the people really just betray them? And what of their mechs? Rellodeen would have to hold strong to her faith that the Caracal mech was able to escape the angry mob, as if they had magic to send them… whatever here was, imagine the capabilities against their mechs they could cause. The worried pit of grief and cold dread settled deep into her stomach but also twisted with something of fiery rage and vengeful spite she would see through. The people had betrayed them. Had sent them here. After they had fought their war for them for 8 Years, standing through harsh winds and trudging through rains that drenched them to the bone, after battles with horrible injuries she wasn't sure they would ever recover from. They had fought justly, and their reward was a black pit. Rellodeen scowled darkly, darkly enough to wilt the grass she had trudged over countless times both in battle and when she had been younger, clenching her fist tight before swiftly turning towards Adalyn who had been closest to her and opening her mouth to speak, drawing in a breath, though stopped just when she had been about to utter the first syllable. Light.

I hope this will suffice ^^

Adalyn Mae Rainer | Guardian of Olde

Adalyn's initial reaction was to see if she was the sole survivor of whatever had happened. She wasn't quite sure, finding her memories of how she had ended up in here quite cloudy. Her lips pursed, hand raising to pinch her nose bridge as her brows furrowed in her attempt to clear away the fog and remember. Not being able to think clearly made her feel like a part of her was missing - she relied on her mind being sharp to get her through many a tricky situation.

Ah, that was it. They had been surrounded by adoring fans, all pushing in to get close to them, to be able to tell their family that 'today I touched a guardian!'. Their facial expressions seemed off, however. Their mouths were moving to form harsh words that had no place coming from these gentle folk. A sudden realisation overcame Adalyn, her mouth moving slightly to whisper "Not fans. An angry mob."

She was still wondering what exactly they had done. What felt like mere minutes ago everyone had loved them. They were saviours! They protected the people, were kind and loving. What had happened to poison the people's minds? She didn't want to accept that her gut feeling had been right. The people had come so far, had begun to show that they could be trusted. They couldn't have just flung that away. She wanted to sit down, but glancing around for the first time the situation slowly dawned on her. Originally she thought that they had been teleported into a cellar. It wasn't uncommon for the rulers to snap their fingers and demand the first thing that came to mind. Her inital presumption hadn't been entirely wrong, but it had been wrong enough. This was no cellar. This was a black void.

"Banishment."

Her voice was lower than a whisper though still painfully hoarse. She'd heard about this but it seemed outrageous to assume that the knowledge of how to banish was still held by anyone living. Banishing was a dark magic, the kind that would slowly corrupt and eat away at souls regardless of how little you used it. Besides, even if the knowledge was widespread it was almost crazy to even think that she would be banished. And by the very people the guardians had spent years fighting to protect. She'd been right all along.

Unconciously a hand strayed to her neck, tapping the chain around it and the ring that hung from that chain. At least that had not been taken away. Her next concious thought was to Espwa. They weren't in the immediate vicinity but it's hard to hide a massive, glowing mech so for the time being it was a reasonable assumption that the mech was safe. If only she could say the same about herself.

Rellodeen approached and Adalyn's left hand strayed to the throwing axe concealed on that side of her body from the shock of seeing her so suddenly near. It was almost disappointing to have concrete proof that it had been all five guardians sent here, not just Addy. A cold flame of rage began to lick at her heart, an almost silent voice threatening to poison her mind with hatred. Deep breaths.

A sudden light bloomed in her vision. A short banishment indeed. Of course the people had been unable to live without them, though it would be a while before she was capable of forgiving them. Of course she'd never be able to trust them again, but that was a sacrifice they had chosen to make.

Faces suddenly swam into her view, though not the faces she remembered. Her memory was still a bit cloudy, that was all. She drew herself up, the very picture of intimidating confidence. Adalyn could feel blades of grass sticking into her legs, though her eyes were taking a moment to catch up to this re-summoning it had obviously worked. Her surroundings suddenly stopped swimming and it took a mere moment for her to detect that all was not right.

A stocky teen was sitting next to a scarily gangly one, gazing up at her with an open mouth and wide eyes, a heavy looking book plummeting out of his hands and onto his foot though he didn't react and just kept staring. He looked like a fish. Her position shifted, leaning into the intimidation yet prepared to move in any direction she needed to and her hands moved to hover above the hidden axes on either side of her body. Judging from the kid's expression, this summoning had been accidental or he hadn't been expecting it to work. That wasn't okay. Her summoning was meant to be done by the very people that had banished her. They were meant to be apologising, recognising their faults and pledging to do anything to right their mistakes. The kids just looked shocked to the point of terror. At least they had all been summoned. Five powerful beings to combat these pathetic looking boys.

She glanced around briefly, intending on checking where - relative to her - the rest of the guardians were.

Fuck.

Not my best work, hope it's okay!
