•Baylee J. O'Quinn• ~ Sex: Female Age: 30 ~ Appearance: Baylee is a little Irish woman. She has an hour glass figure, with thick thighs and a slim waist. She was not blessed with height, only standing around 5'1". Despite always being in the sun, she has flawless, porcelain skin. That being said, she does tend to sunburn rather easily. Her eyes are a piercing stone grey color, with long, dark lashes. Baylee has a button nose that is ever so slightly upturned. Her eyes are wide, giving her a doe-eyed look. Her eyebrows are thin, but not too thin, with a graceful arch. She has freckles dotting the bridge of her nose and a few speckled over her cheeks. Her hair is long, cascading down her back to her waist in loose curls. Her deep red locks are either left down or tied up with a ribbon. Baylee has high cheek bones and a defined, feminine face. Her lips are plump, always seeming to have a lovely rose color to them. ~ Personality: To put things frankly, Baylee can be described as one hell of a woman. She is a ball of boisterous energy who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She can be very opinionated and argumentative at times, but she's generally a lovely person. However, she does wear her heart on her sleeve. It's easy for her feathers to be ruffled, but she's easy to make up with as well. She has a thick Irish accent which has a tendency to flair up when she's really excited. Baylee is terrible at picking up social cues. She often doesn't realize when she's being too much for someone. Once she does though, she feels bad about it. She always wants to do everything she can to make up for something she did wrong. She's naturally a caring, loving person, she just has to figure out how to do so without being annoying. Baylee is a loyal, trusting kind of person. She'll stay by your side as long as she can, until you break her trust. Trust is not something easy to get back from her once it is gone, so it would be advised to either not lose it or do a heck of a job in earning it back. ~ Hobbies: •Star gazing •Drawing •Occasionally singing •Playing the ukulele ~ Likes: •Exploring new places/having adventures •The smell of fresh rain and vanilla Dislikes: •Blood. The sight of it makes her absolutely sick •Bugs. Vile little creatures is what they are. Edited at October 29, 2023 11:12 PM by Moo Cow

•Baylee• The savanna heat was sweltering, but it didn't stop the little redheaded woman from basking in the sun. Baylee was admiring the beauty of the savanna, smiling to herself. It was their first day out there and they'd just finished setting up camp. Baylee sighed softly, pivoting on her heel as she headed back for the group. Much like the others, Baylee was dressed in cool clothing. She adorned khaki shorts that stopped around mid thigh with lace up ankle boots and a slightly flowy green shirt. Her hair was tied up into a pony tail, which swayed gently as she walked. Baylee had joined the others just in time for the overview to begin. The supervisor stood, facing the group. "Alright everyone, it's about time we get started. You'll be working in pairs, which have already been a signed to you. Please be patient with one another and watch each others back. After all, things can get a little dangerous out here," he said, pausing for a moment before starting to call out the pairs. Baylee bounced slightly, excitement flashing in her eyes as she waited for her name to be called. "..James and Hadley, and last but not least, Baylee and Jian. Find your better half and let's get this show on the road!" He spoke enthusiastically, as if to try and hype up the group. Baylee giggled before starting to look for her partner, standing on her tiptoes to try and spot him.

┌──═━┈━═──┐ Jian H. Reynold •---------• Jian stood with the group in the beaming heat of the savanna. His face was expressionless but not smug. Jian held his head up high and shoulders square. He didn't have much to say and to be frank didn't like unnecessary dialogue at all. His eyes darted around taking in his new surroundings for future reference. He made mental note of all the important things. Jian heard the groups supervisor begin speaking and reading aloud the groups. Slightly stepping closer to the comotion he gently placed his hands into his pockets. Exchanging glances with other people who have been put into ther groups, Jian traced a faint smile on to his face tossing them all head nods. Finally, his pairing was announced. " Baylee.. " he repeated in his head looking around for her. The tall male gingerly stepped around looking into the groups of people to find the woman. The equipment attached onto his uniform vest, clanked on to the buttons on his knee length cargo shorts making a slightly irritating noise. Spinning around, Jian found her. " Baylee? " he asked reaching his hand out to the small women for a shake. She was *very* small, to Jian considering his height. He was unsure if she was even the right woman, let alone if she met the job qualifications. " Jian. Jian Reynold, four years strong into my career of archaeology. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mate " he began. Edited at October 29, 2023 11:13 PM by lynn2nicee

•Baylee• Being so small had its downside. She couldn't see around hardly any of the others, so she knew she'd have to rely on her partner to find her. Then she heard it. A strong Australian accent saying her name. Baylee's eyes trailed upwards to meet those of the man who'd just spoken her name. 'Good lord what a giant..' she thought to herself as she tried not to gawk at his height. She offered a bright smile, slipping her small hand into his for a firm shake. "Baylee O'Quinn. It's a pleasure to meet you as well, love," she said as she let her hand fall back to her side. "I'm on my second year, so I'm afraid you're with a bit of an newbie. Not to worry though, I'm a fast learner," she told him. Baylee did know what she was doing of course, but there was always much more to learn. Now that the others had paired up, they were beginning to head out to start work. Baylee had all of her equipment attached at her waist and some would be surprised it wasn't weighing her down. She only weighed a whopping 100 pounds soaking wet and they had a decent bit of required equipment. "Right then. Shall we get to it?" She asked, her giddiness showing through in her Irish accent. She was still smiling, looking up at Jian, awaiting to hear whether or not he was ready.

┌──═━┈━═──┐ Jian H. Reynold •---------• Jian flashed a toothy smile looking down to his partner. Baylees' words went through his ear and tucked itself into his brain. Her voice was jubilant and eager. Was she going to be a problem? Jian was already disgruntled with the fact she was down some experience time and unsure if she was to prove any use on this trip. As Jian was taking an obnoxious amount of mental notes upon this small interaction shortly forgetting the woman was still in front of him. Now letting go of her hand, Jian cleared his throat still smiling. " Splendid. As ready as you are " he replied squaring his shoulders. Jian thought carefully for a second gazing at the shorter woman, hoping she wouldn't be a problem. " If you've got any questions don't be afraid to ask me. But i'm sure you'll do just fine ". His eyes trailed from her face to the heavy equipment on Baylee. Is it a burden to carry all of that, he wondered. Edited at October 30, 2023 03:29 PM by lynn2nicee

•Baylee• Thankfully, Baylee was quite good at her job. She still had her moments of doubt, but she'd gotten her spot on the trip for a reason. That reason was likely ambition, but either way she knew she deserved to be there. She smiled and nodded as he gave her the go a head to ask any questions. "Lovely! I most definitely will if I do. I'm sure we're going to work wonderfully together," she said, a small giggle escaping her lips. Baylee spun on her heel, bouncing off with pep in her step. She was excited to try and make some discoveries, as well as get to know her partner. He seemed like a really nice guy so far. He was polite and Baylee had a feeling he'd end up being helpful towards her as well. Most of the other teams had already disappeared off to their locations of work, but the two wouldn't be far behind. "So tell me," she started, looking over at Jian. "What made you want a career in archaeology?" It was a basic question, yes, but it was always nice to try and get to know him.

┌──═━┈━═──┐ Jian H. Reynold •---------• With great hesitation, Jian didn't speak. The guy didn't really care for frivolous conversations and questions like these. His smile faded into a faint smirk. Was Baylee going to be irritable after all? " Truthfully.. I'm unsure. " he began. " I've always had a nitch for finding things and putting them back to use. I suppose it's been a part of who I am all the way into my adulthood " Jian chuckled. The man thought for a while replaying his answer over and over before speaking again. Curiously, Jian turned his head to look at Baylee. " How about you ? ". Jians boots stamped into the crust of the earth gingerly. Presenting himself as a ' Gentle Giant ' , Jian tilted his head raising an eyebrow. He wanted to understand the person whom he's going to be working with for the next three days anyhow. So why not engage into the conversation? It wasn't going too badly anyways. . . Externally at least. For Jian on the inside he was slightly unbothered and disinterested. But it was for the greater good of his career. How could this small woman with a big personality ever affect him and his job? Jian lifted his hands up to hold onto the straps of his traveling bag close to his chest. Awaiting to hear from Baylee.. Edited at October 30, 2023 08:06 PM by lynn2nicee

•Baylee• Baylee listened to his answer, humming softly in response. She understood his reasoning and hers didn't vary too much. "I take great interest in discovery. Finding new things that are of value to history simply amazes me," she said with a shrug. Perhaps it was a part of her curious nature. She'd get into anything she could and there was always plenty to find in their line of work. After a moment more of walking, they happened upon their work area. The ground was uneven as well as unstable. It gave an idea that there may be something lying beneath. There was also a deep hole. It could be a burrow and it could be something more. "This seems to be the area they wanted us to begin surveying," she said, kneeling to examine the area.
