Does dominance do anything other than increase/decrease pack happiness?

It helps chase off other packs and chase off the bird watcher in explore. You also may need a certain amount of Dominance for an alliance

Dominance can effect the affinity of your wolves sometimes, which I (believe, if I remember correctly), can bring down the pack happiness.
