The Dragon Trials
In all of Solnathe, there is only one Academy of Dragon Riders despite being a rather large country. It's a prestigious place, where only the chosen riders are admitted. To get into the Solnathe Rider Academy is one of the greatest honors someone can achieve in the powerful kingdom, considering the odds of it happening are very, very low.
Every couple of years various dragons arrive at the Solnathe Academy, there to witness the trial potential riders will complete in an attemp to win a dragon over. The Citizens of Solnathe don't know why the dragons come, but whenever a dragon shows up, whether its one dragon or ten, the trials for potential riders are held before the beginning of the next Academy year.
This year is different, though. Whispers of there being a larger than normal amount of dragons be present have coarsed through Solnathe. Some view this as a bad omen, believing there being more dragons than normal means there could be a coming war. Some believe they're good omens, a promise of a plentiful year. No one truly knows what it means, but everyone can admit there being ten dragons in search of riders is odd. Welcome, but odd.
Pressures within the youth of Solnathe are high, as they are whenever dragons are around, but it's what these potential riders have waited for all their life. This is the only chance to prove themselves and make their families proud. At the end of the day, will they go home Dragonless? Or will they enter the Solnathe Rider Academy as the newest Members of it's Dragon Rider Corps?

I wanted to do a Dragon and Rider Roleplay. I just didn't want to remake Burning or Savage again, and since this one never started, I thought it was a good option.

The Rules of the Roleplay
Follow all of WP's and Eve's Rules.
1. Be Active. Sometimes I'm not on for a couple of days, but I expect everyone to be as active as they can for the rp. I would like to see posts occurring every 3-ish days at most.
2. Reservations last 48 hours. You know how I work if they aren't done in time. You may ask for One Extention of Up to 12 Hours, but You Must Ask Before the Reservation has Expired.
4. Maximum of 3 Characters per Person for Now. Only 1 Dragon Per Person to Start Please.
5. Semi-Realism and Semi-Literacy are required. Please do not make me explain myself.
6. Yes. There will be more riders than dragons. Not every Rider will succeed at the trials.
7. The riders are new, they will not be experts at Dragon Riding. Mistakes will be made, and they do not know everything.
8. For now, your own dragon and your own rider cannot be partners, this it to prevent people from not having others to post with.
9. I reserve the Right to Deny Applications for this Rp. I won't tolerate disrespect or rude behavior if your application gets denied, or your reservation/character get removed due to inactivity. If you do, I won't even give you the option to fix it or return. If you are respectful, I am often willing to work with you.
10. Try to keep things even with genders, it's much more interesting if things are diverse.
11. LGBTQ+ is welcomed and allowed here.
12. Please put your favorite Dragon from a movie, show, or book in the other section of your form if you've read everything.
13. As Mentioned: These are still kids. They shouldn't be expert assassins, or perfect swordsmen, etc. They can have training for things, but they're still just teenagers.
14. There will be NPCs trying out as well, so you're welcome to utilize your own NPCs unless I say otherwise.
Choosing Your Partners
For this Rp, it is going to be quite different than my other ones. This is not going to be an immediate, instinctual bond like in the past. Instead, the Potential Riders will have to complete a set of different trials. At the end of the trials, the Dragons can choose from who is left on who they want to be their rider, if they want. None of the Dragons will know exactly who they'll choose til the end, but they might have a select few or group they keep their eyes on throughtout the process.
If two dragons choose the same rider, it can be decided one of two ways. Either the rider can choose, or the dragons can fight for their claim on the rider.
Once a Rider has been chosen by a Dragon, and they bare the Dragon's Mark, there is no going back. Rejecting the Dragon afterwards will kill them.

About the Academy WIP
About the Dragons There are a variety of dragons in the world, though everyone single one of them fall into one type of class or another. Instead of giving them a Singular, Pre-Decided Ability, I've decided to give you more Creative Liberty with Your Dragons.
All the dragons in the Rp are the same age group of young adult, which is the stage where they are 50 years old or above, becoming full adults at about 250 years. The older a dragon gets the longer the aging stage lasts, ergo ancient is longer than adult, which is longer than young adult, which is longer than their adolescent stage, and so on and so forth. Dragons are considered semi-immortal but it has never been proven what age they die naturally at.
For the Purpose of this Rp, all Young Adult Dragons that are New Dragons are capped at 19 Feet Tall. I've based this on the largest I would allow the Young Adult Dragons in different dragon rps.
For your dragons, though, it will be up to you to come up with their abilities and their individual weaknesses. Of course, I will have a specific set of Weaknesses that apply to ALL dragons, but each dragon will also have their own. You must have 1 Weakness for Every 1 Ability they have. So if you give them 5 Abilities, you must have 5 Weaknesses for them as well, and half of them MUST be physical weaknesses. This is to keep balanced, so no one's dragon is OP. If I do not think you have balanced your dragon enough, they will not be accepted.

For this Rp, I will be Only Accepting Reservations for the Dragons Available on the List. There will be ten dragons, and I will decide which dragon classes there will be, and you can choose from what is available.

Appearance: Bhaskara is a rather unique individual in terms of his appearance, often mistaken for species he isn't, but never assumed he's what he is. This is due primarily to his more feline like physique, which is most comparable to a lion, albeit a rather large lion, but a lion nonetheless. It's even rumored that the dragon is the inspiration for several rumors and lore that have spread across the vast lands, but he doesn't confirm or deny any of these accusations, allowing others to come to their own conclusions.
In terms of size, Bhaskara does not boast the largest of frames, nor is he the smallest. He stands at around 17 feet at the shoulder, though his head and wings often make him appear taller, as he carries himself with pride and confidence. He's rather long in appearance, the combination of lion and dragon he seems to be made up of making him about double or more of his height. Along with that, his weight is quite heavy, being a rather well muscled creature, with long, athletic legs built with power for bursts of speed on the ground, as well as the uncanny ability to jump despite the heavy wings resting on his back.
The best place to start for Bhas is his head, which is distinctly and obviously very leonine. In comparison to an actual lion, Bhas' head is pretty normal, though obviously it is befitting a creature of his size. The primary difference is that instead of fur on his face, he boasts smooth gold scaling, before transitioning back to fur at his chin, giving him a soft little beard there that most lions hold. His lion nose is gold as well, covered in tough scales instead of the soft flesh of a normal nose. Oddly enough, between the scales of his muzzle sprouts several white whiskers. For eyes, Bhaskara holds the typical lion-like optics, their shade of color a topaz shade that is somehow bright than even the color of his scales. Atop his head are four bull like horns that arc away from his head, the outside pair taller than the inside pair, albeit not by much, and the two sets nestle gently against each other, acting much like a crown a lion is worthy of. They, like his face, are gold in color, ridged with sharp kerotin. Their bases rise out of the opalescent mane Bhaskara proudly carries, the strands of hair soft and long, their white strands glittering different colors in the light. The locks of mane seem to gather and hold light, making the male dragon seem like he's constantly glowing, radiating light from his mane like some sort of sun god. His mane extends down from his head, covering his neck, the tops of his shoulders, and ends as it gradually down his chest and belly.
From where his mane ends, the gold scales can be seen starting again, covering the base of his body in a sheen of metallic that is hard to look away from. His legs, which appear more lion like at the shoulders, transition to a more dragon like foot, which ends in sharp claws of pearly white. This is applied for all of his legs, though his front feet sport a combination of longer and deadlier claws and toes. The scales of his base travel down to his belly where they gradually grow lighter in color until his underbelly scales are a soft cream, something similar actually to the color of his mane, but not quite.
From powerful hips and hindquarters, Bhaskara grows a very dragon like tail, thick at the base, and gradually tapering down to a sharp point. It's powerful and flexible, but doesn't adorn any sort of spikes or spines on it, being used for utility more so than weaponry. In fact, the only real spikes the male has on him, aside from his horns, are a pair of spikes on either side of his hips. They jut outward and up, and honestly make for the perfect pegs to hang things off of.
Lastly, there are Bhaskara's wings. These great and powerful appendages are something Bhas is extremely proud of. They are heavy and strong, able to carry and lift him up without any struggle. His wings, though, are feathered rather than scaled and membraned. The feathers near the top of his wings start at that rich gold color that is his base, before lightening to the same color as his mane, becoming opalescent at the tips, reflecting light in various colors. They're a beautiful display of regality and strength, a humbling combination of beauty and power.
For his voice, Bhaskara has a deep, basso like voice, warm and powerful in tone. Honestly, it's a voice worthy of a king.

Abilities:I. Lumopresence
This ability allows Bhaskara to sense things that are standing in sunlight. Like how some Dark Dragons can sense things when they're standing in shadows, Bhaskara has the ability to sense things that are standing in direct rays of sunlight. He can even focus and "see" through the sun, but this leaves him incredibly vulnerable so he rarely ever does this. Instead he uses this extra sense, basically, to help defend himself and others as works as a good alarm system.
II. Radiance
This is a Two Fold Power, depending on how he chooses to use it. The three types are: Radiant Aura and Radiant Pulse. Each has it's own unique purpose, and he's comfortable using them.
1. Radiant Aura
The first of the three types of Radiance, Bhaskara has the ability to draw light to his body, surrounding himself in a warm and bright aura of pure light. This can be anything from a subtle glow, to being almost like a mini sun. It's blinding to look at, though only temporarily, unless you stare at it for a stupid amount of time, and can be extremely distracting and difficult to work around. It's also very difficult to determine exactly where he is, as he can push the Aura a bit away from his body, which leads to his next ability. One thing to keep in mind about this ability, is because it's a collection of sunlight, it also contains radiation. It isn't enough to permanently make someone sick, but they'll start to feel weak and ill the long they stay in his aura.
2. Radiant Pulse
Considered almost liek the next step of Radiant Aura, this ability is pretty much exactly how it sounds. He's able to pulse his aura around him, acting like a flashbang at times, stunning people when they aren't expecting it. He can, however, also pulse his aura away from him in a wave, disorientating and confusing anyone caught in it for a brief time. It also can be rather uncomfortable because it's warm. This warmth is a reminder of the radiation that lays within the pulse. Because it's a strong attack than just his Aura, those who are directly hit by the way will likely feel weakened and/or ill for several minutes, to several hours [depending on their own health] afterwards. There are no lasting effects though.
III. Light Manipulation
Often considered his main ability, Bhaskara has the ability to manipulate light, and light energy, to his will. This can be using light beams to attack, or creating shields or barriers out of light. At night he cannot use this ability unless there is something creating light, or he has stored light within himself. Typically, he stores light energy within the strands of his mane, but this is a finite amount, and once he's out, this ability is useless at night. During the day, it's much stronger, and up to how much strength and willpower he has left.
IV. Healing Light
This is actually his "breath attack", but instead of it being an offensive ability, it's a support one. He breathes a soft, warm light that, upon contact with a wound, begins to heal it. It can't reattach things, or bring someone back from the dead, but he heal even severe wounds if he has the energy. This power, though, comes from his own energy being metabolized into light, so, again, it's finite. If he tries to heal someone too much it could render him unconscious of even dead.

- He has Great Maneuverability on the Ground, Able to Function Well Even with Damaged Wings.

- Not the Fastest of Dragons. He's a Big, Heavy, Stronk Boy.
- He has to Be Careful When Healing Others Not to Hurt Himself in the Process.
- Stealth is Not his Prowess. He's a Walking Night Light or Beacon.

There tend to be several things about the young man that stand out upon a first meaning, though it's hard to determine which one is the most noticeable. The first tends to be his height, as at only 17 he stands at 6'2", with a lean but athletic build to match. He's certainly a fit young man, but he won't be growing in height in the future, having reached his full potential in that realm. His leaner build, though, might become stockier and more filled out as he matures, but for now he's a lanky 176 lbs.
Davis is, to put it simply, easy on the eyes. He has a strong jaw and chin, with a straight nose that's never been broken, and a pair of eyes that are hooded and always seem a little sleepy. Within them are pools of deep blue, a color equivalent to the untamed expanse of the open ocean. His lips are a bit on the thinner side, but you wouldn't really notice past the cocky smirk or a lazy smile they are constantly pulled into. Atop his head, Davis hold a frock of naturally semi-curly black hair, the reaches down to just above his eyes, and is neatly trimmed so it doesn't travel too far down his nape in the back.
Despite all these handsome features of his face, there are two things that tend to draw more attention to it. First is the simple line of a scar along the angle of his high cheekbones on the left side. The next, and argueably the most noteable, is the burn scar that travels along the length of the left side of his jaw and up his cheek, ending a few mere millimeters before the other scar on his face. Both have fully healed and scarred, proving that their cause happened a long time ago, but it still isn't something you're likely to get Davis to talk about easily.
In terms of clothing, the young man tends to prefer simplistic choices. He isn't the type to stand out because of his sense of fashion. He does prefer darker colors, but he doesn't shy away from lighter tones either. His voice is a bit on the baritone side, but still being a teenager it's bound to get a bit deeper with time, but not overly so.

Strengths & Weaknesses:Strengths
1. Physically Fit: Davis is in good shape, with a good balance between his capabilities. He's strong, albeit not as strong as broader guys, but enough so, but he has good stamina/endurance, and is a decent runner.
2. Stamina/Endurance: He doesn't get winded easily when he paces himself properly. Even if he doesn't at first, he recovers a bit faster when he does.
3. Critical Thinker: He has the ability to think through situations and take them at more than face value to decide what the right solution might be. He's not just brawn, he has brain too.
4. Goal Orientated: All Davis has ever wanted to be was a Dragon Rider. So he is absolutely determined to achieve that goal. Nothing that stands in his way will prevent him in his mind.
5. Brave: With few exceptions, Davis isn't the type to be intimidated by things and will often be one of the first volunteers even if something is dangerous. He just doesn't want to live a life ruled by fear.
Weaknesses
1. Fear of Fire: Due to an Incident when he was younger, Davis is actually rather afraid of fire after being burned by it. He doesn't completely shut down, but he isn't as level or clear headed as he usually is. Fire Dragons do intimidate him.
2. Big Brother Attitude: He can't help it, but being the older brother to two younger sisters has caused him to be protective of those who need it. While it goes against his nature, he will stop what he's doing to help someone who needs it.
3. His Sisters: He would risk his life for them. As far as he is concerned they are off limits completely. No one can threaten them. Show interest in them. They're never allowed to have boyfriends. Nothing. He'd gladly die for them.
4. Gets Embarrassed at Genuine Compliments: He can handle flirtation or playful comments, but the minute someone, especially a lady, gives him a genuine compliment he will quickly blush and get awkward.
5. Stomach is a Lil Sensitive to Tomatoes: While he loves them, his stomach doesn't always. Enough said.
