Frozen Legacy
In a remote mountain range, nestled within a vast, pristine wilderness, a team of visionary scientists pushes the boundaries of genetic engineering. Their ambitious project aims to create a new breed of big cat while trying to recreate the historic Cave Lion, combining the majestic strength of Lions with the stealth and agility of Amur leopards or Snow Leopards. This results in the birth of the Northern Taiga Leos, remarkable hybrids uniquely adapted to thrive in the cold, dense taiga forests and snow-covered mountain slopes.
As the Taiga Leos grow, so does the ethical debate surrounding their existence. Critics argue that these magnificent creatures should not be manipulated for human purposes. Tensions peak when a group of eco-activists launches a raid on the laboratory, liberating the big cats from their confinement. In the chaos, the Northern Taiga Leos flee into the wild, scattering into the rugged terrain, where they must adapt to survive without human intervention.
Now free, the Taiga Leos face the harsh realities of their new environment. The taiga is a realm of stunning beauty and brutal challenges, filled with towering coniferous trees, icy streams, and steep mountain slopes. It is home to a diverse ecosystem, including prey such as deer, hares, and smaller mammals, as well as established apex predators like wolves and bears that see the Taiga Leos as threats to their territory. However difficult, their goal is to forge a new life in this untamed wilderness, where survival is paramount and every day presents new challenges.

The Roleplay Rules
Follow All of Eve's and WP's Rules
1. Lets try to be Active. A couple of Posts per week from each of us should be doable I think.
2. Please read my Guide for the Taiga Leos before just creating one. While they're pretty broad spectrum in appearance, there are some traits I will require them to have.
3. Maximum of 4 Characters per Person for Now.
4. No Orphaned Cubs at all. The age range for the Taiga Leos is 1 to 3 Years Old.
5. No Power playing, Godmodding, Perfect Characters, Etc. I won't tolerate it.
6. Semi-Literacy is the requirement for this Rp, but I wont' be as strict on how much I'm demanding in this Rp as I do in others. I do require a good description for appearance, but personality can be dot point.
7. For my curiosity, please put your favorite big cat in the Other section of your form.
8. While these Big Cats have lived in a type of reserve/in enclosures, they don't have a lot of experience of what it's like to be wild. So they'll struggle at first. Not to mention they've never had to deal with other predators.
9. I will allow for a wider range of colors and markings due to them being genetic hybrids, but nothing completely unnatural. Essentially, if you cannot justify or explain it, don't do it.

The Nothern Taiga LeosAs mentioned earlier, the Taigo Leos [Aka NTLs] are a combination of Lion DNA with either Amur Leopard DNA or Snow Leopard DNA. The scientists worked hard to create hybrids that were healthy, nonsterile, and could survive in the chosen environment. Since they were not bred naturally, the cubs, when they were born, were hand reared with the help of a female dog named Kala. Since the first generations of NTLs were not designed to be released into the wild, they were not raised as such, but they still are young enough to develop and have their natural instincts. Taiga Leos range in size due to the difference in size between their biological parents. Considering the size ranges of the Snow Leopards, Amur Leopards, and African Lions, we can establish a size range for the Northern Taiga Leos that reflects their hybrid nature. The Taiga Leos would likely exhibit characteristics that fall between these species, resulting in a unique size profile. Here’s a proposed range for the Northern Taiga Leos:

Males: 30 - 37 inches
Females: 25 - 33 inches

Females: 5.5 Ft to 7 Ft

In terms of fur type, the NTLs take on the side of their Leopard portions. They tend to have thicker, longer, and denser fur, providing warmth and protection from the cold elements they were designed for. However, males of the species tend to have some form of mane, though not nearly as large and full as an African Lions would be. This also means their tails are more in line with that of a Leopards rather than a Lions.
The Northern Taigas are designed for stealth and being nimble, while also packing a decent amount of power in their statures, being a true mix of the two species. However, whereas Leopards live and hunt alone, these cats have been raised more as a pride, and may learn to live and hunt as a group if their solitary tendencies do not win over. With their long tails, padded feet, and long claws, they're also designed to be able to traverse even the most difficult of terrain, able to follow prey in places others might not dare.
In regards to their coloration, they range in color and markings. Greys and Creams tend to be the most predominant base color, with darker markings on their coat to aid camoflauge, but they still range in appearance. No Taiga Leo looks exactly like another. Their eye color tends to be the only thing that is a bit unnatural, ranging in color from blues to yellows to browns, and so on.
For their ages, they range from 1 year old to 3 years old. They reach maturity somewhere between the age of 2 and 3, and the oldest will just now be able to start having their own cubs. Fertility in them isn't amazing, but they can still conceive cubs, they just may have smaller litters, and have less successful chances than normal.
For the purpose of this rp, most of the NTLs are unrelated, as the scientists purposely used DNA from different Lions and Leopards to ensure no cross breeding occurred later down the line.

She's not really sure, but she thinks staying as a group would provide the best outcome for them.
Appearance:
Heirani is a beautiful leo who appears to take after the more Snow Leopard part of her DNA. She stands at about 27 inches tall at the shoulder, and weighs about 185 lbs, with her being a bit heavier during the winter due to her thick coat. She's got a long figure, caming in just short of 7 feet long, with her tail taking up about half of that length. Her fur is quite dense and thick, even during the summer, but thankfully her undercoat works to keep her cool even though their environment doesn't get very warm even during the dead of summer.
Her coloration could definitely be defined as beautiful, being a pale cream color overall. Her underbelly is a pale, snow white, with her base color being a faint shade of cream that is barely lighter than it. However, her markings tend to be what catches attention. For one, her rosettes are more marbled in appearance, taking on a look that is a combination of warbled stripes and wide rosettes. They're fainter along her back and shoulders, becoming more pigmented as they grow down her legs. The deepest part of the color is a chocolate brown, but it lightens almost to a tan along her back. On her face, the markings take a more stripe appearance, coming from her face in a way that lines her eyes and gives her this smokey, almost exotic appearance.
Rani's eyes are also an unusual color of periwinkle, a color that is quite abnormal among animals, even cats. However, it's just proof of her hybrid heritage. Her claws and teeth are pearly white, and the skin of her paw pads is a pale greyish white. Her voice is a low, smokey sound, that, if she were a human, could be defined as sultry.

Name: Kisa (Russian name that means "kitty", pronounced "Keesa") Age: 2 years old Gender: Female Specific Cross: Lion x Amur Leopard Desired Rank/Role?: She doesn't care much about it. Appearance: Kisa looks like a quite strong animal. Her measurements are: Height: 29 inches at the shoulder Length: 7 ft Weight: 200 lbs Her fur is a light fawn colour, with large brown rosettes scattered throughout the body except on the head, chest, lower body and legs. In the tail, the rosettes merge to the tip, which remains completely the colour of these. In the area from her chest to her belly you can notice that the fur is lighter than in the rest of her body. Her fur is thick, being of medium length in winter and shorter in summer, also changing from a pale fawn base coat to a slightly darker one in this season. Her long tail is covered with fur that is a bit longer and fluffier than that which covers the rest of her body. Her sharp claws and strong legs make her a good climber, a trait inherited from leopards. Something that really catches your attention is her bright yellow eyes, which give her a piercing gaze that can give you chills when she looks directly at you. Her nose and paw pads are pink with small brick-colored spots. Personality: A characteristic feature of Kisa is her self-confidence. She can be very bold and daring, sometimes too much so. She is more of a quick-acting type than a strategist. This feline has very little patience, and that can sometimes lead her to make hasty decisions. She likes company as long as her privacy is respected, she also likes to be alone from time to time. Name: Zenith Age: 3 Years Gender: Female Specific Cross: Snow Leopard x African Lion Desired Rank/Role?: Undecided. She is conflicted with being together or going solitary.. Appearance: Zenith is not the most feminine looking big cat. Though as female big cats are leaner or smaller frames than male cats. She is relatively shorter standing at 25 inches. And her length 6.5 feet giving her the longer scale of her hybrid species with her tail giving a foot of that. She is’t necessarily huge or large like the opposite sex of her. As male are larger than their female counterparts, but she has a rougher appearance. She is not elegant as she is not lean and built for speed. She is stealthy like her genes are made for her to do. Maybe it is not being compared as male, and more like her other side of the lion. Her facial features are more lion-like than a snow leopard. She is also more stocky and muscular. Her short size makes it seem like she is bigger than she actually is. She weighs about 160 pounds, though with her muscular and stocky features. It does not mean she is not necessarily stronger. She actually isn’t not that strong and more on the medium to weaker side of pure strength for her species. Her build is a mixture of what she was designed to do. She is light on her feet with great stealth, but her jumping abilities are where she is remarkable. Her build of being naturally smaller than most can cause her jumper higher and farther than most. Her flexibility is wonderful for such an athletic species to be light on her feet and able to move as quick short movements. She can bend and stretch her body. No, she can’t just bend her paws 180 degrees. But she can move fluidly and is able to twist her body and get in small positions. Though her build has a disadvantage, she can jump and all that. But speed and strength are not in her ideal forms. She is not weak in those aspects, but it's not her highlights that come naturally. She can move fast at a short pace. But it has to be short and quick and not at an extended time. Her paws are average size and her claws are sharp and dark brown. (If her physique needs to be changed. I tried to do combination of both) A dense fur that is meant for harsh cold temperatures. Her fur is thick and medium to long throughout her body with around her head being longer and her tail. She has a mixture of colors of a light smokey gray color as her base with her white being a under coat and on her point of ears and legs and bottom of her tail. She has fables of off white/ cream coloring around her muzzle and down her chest. Though her rosettes are all over her body and make a rough looking heart around her face. Her face has no rosettes but a few dapples of black and light brown. Her rosette coloring is dark obsidian and light brown. Zenith has a basic set of eyes that are an amber color that can resemble caramel or honey in the sunlight to a deep black in the night. Zenith has a smooth voice that does not ever seem to get shaky or unwavered. A low alto voice that sounds mature and thought out. A scar is not on her body or she has quite none. If she does, they are small and from rough tumbles. Personality: Zenith has strong morality for what is right and wrong. Though she has strong morals for what she believes in. She does not see the world black nor white. She knows things happen for a reason and that there is gray for decision making. She has been known for her strong will as when her mind is set on something, it is very difficult to sway her away. She is a calculating and logical individual and does not make decisions on a whim. She takes all the facts, feelings of others, experiences, or whatever that is important to make that decision. Nothing about her screams gullible or taken lightly. With that she can be a little stereotypical and judgmental to a certain degree. Once she is set in her way, she will see an individual that strongly disagrees with her as weak minded or just weak. She sees herself that she will make impossible decisions, so others do not have to do so. And people that sides against her or shames her for that. She sees them as shallow and weak that they could not do what she could do. She has that type of tough love for others that makes people hate her at the moment, but realize later on that they were grateful for that. She is still young and very much still having her own experiences. She has an adventurous and curious nature to search for something. She isn't fully aware of who she is as an individual. Zenith knows she has a strong will and her decisions may push away others or draw them closer. But she does not see them as less than. Yes, she has tendencies to see them as weak but she knows they can be strong. Zenith is reassuring to others. She shows this side when she feels more comfortable around others and the environment. When either is causing her discomfort then she can be considered as apathetic and cold. Though her feelings are pushed back for her to survive instead of thrive. Zenith does have empathy but it is more covered from her logic and calculating thought process. She doesn't just disregard others feelings or experiences, but she has to find solutions. With that her ability to make friends are considerably troubling for her. She is necessarily awkward trying to be herself as she still hasn't found who she is. Zenith can be known as socially awkward or rather just unusual. She can do small talk but she rather choose not to. She does not really care or connect with gossip or crushes. She was raised with other cubs, but she was not sitting and talking. She would wrestle and fight or she would explore her own environment. She would be taking mental notes on others or just everything in her mind. Zenith with her close friends or just the other Northern Taiga Lions to an extent is rather over protective. She will fight with words or teeth and claw. She is more of that silent listener but is not the friend to be messed with at all. She is a fighter not a lover. She will let the world burn for who she loves. A fighter or a protector for an actual definition of her. A mother for her own future isn’t something she has truly thought of. She knows she will fight for her own till her last breath. But she doesn't know what she will be like on an emotional level. She doesn't know how to word it. She does not really know the definition of love and whether it's real or not real. She really does not think that for her. She does not see herself in romantic situations or motherhood. She rather worries about what she wants in life and try to survive in her new environment. For any love or romance. She is clueless and will truly not know if someone is flirting with her. She will just be absolutely dumbfounded at the idea of that. She will just brush it off as someone having an act of kindness towards her. Zenith will most likely run from love than let it happen. She never saw love in that degree that she would not know what to do. She would need someone with patience and to love her as her. Zenith struggles some mental issues with that being said. She struggles with her body image and self image. She sees herself as a monstrosity of being hybrid. She isn't the best looking and she tends to fall on looking more masculine than feminine. And she struggles with that aspect that she is more masculine. She knows all other Northern Taiga Lions look different from another, but they seem to accept that and she can’t. Her self identity is in crisis. Her self image is her criticism on her own. From her decision making and her being awkward to others. Decision Process: Her mind is conflicted of going solitary or staying as a group. She likes to only look after herself at times without having to worry about other's fates and deaths. She rather look out for own survival to a point. Though she was raised with cubs and it would also be a discomforting for her to get up and leave the only thing she has never known.
