What would you do if the one person that you swore was your mate, truely wasn't? What if one night you woke up with your whole body filled with such an unbearable pain that you reach for your mate and find out that they are not beside you? Would you call out their name or would those feelings of doubt that you had been harboring for the last few months begin taking over? Your pain won't last though, maybe only for a few minutes but within that time you feel the bond, that had been repeatedly told to you was unbreakable, break and you can no longer feel the presence of your mate. Are they dead? Did you die? Why did the pain suddenly just stop? Why do you feel at peace? All questions that have been quietly asked in the many tears of those that lost their mate to a "True Mate". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "True Mates" to many within the Drucian Pack are just a legend told by the elders to young shifters as a way to say that everyone has their "True Mate" out there waiting for them. No one really knows what happens when one meets their "True Mate". Many believe that they have found their mate when they find someone that they feel really connected to. A pseudo bond is created between the pair which helps the duo feel where and how each other are doing. Neither the pseudo bond nor the "True Mate" bond has the ability to speak telepathically between mates. A "True Mate" feels as though something has flipped and all of a sudden they can feel and hear their mate no matter how far away they are. The bond is stronger and creates a specific mark on the pairs bodies to signify that a "True Mate" pairing has happened. The pseudo bond is not weak by any chance, which is why when one is betrayed or the bond is broken by a "True Mate" bond, the person that is not doing the betraying or breaking of the bond will feel whole body pain anywhere from mild to unbearable. The level for the pain is determined by how strong the pseudo bond is between the mated pair. If a "True Mate" pair were to betray or break the bond, it could cause possible death to the innocent party as it would feel as though their heart is being ripped out due to the strength of finding one's "True Mate."

The setting is late spring and the days have been a cool 60*F with rain starting mid afternoon. The date is June 10 and the big stir within the pack will be the upcoming Summer Festival that is scheduled for June 25th. Many of the higher ranking officials are currently away on business in preparation for the big event looking for different vendors and inviting other packs. The town of Brandon is also buzzing with the excitement of the festival as it brings in tourists that help fund the local community. Many do not question why the festival happens or why it seems secretive but there are always a few humans that try and sneak into the event. The time is 3:30 pst and a light drizzle has started though the sky is mostly blue with a little bit of clouds. ~~~~~~ (Keep in mind that the Drucian Pack is not small but many of the members will be NPCs) Alpha: NPC Luna (Alpha's Mate): Tori. ~~~~~~~~~~ Beta: Katherine Rosewood Beta's Mate: ~~~~~~~~~ Head Hunter: Kane Haze Hunter 1: Kaiser Dresden Hunter 2: Dylan O'Brian ~~~~~~~~~ Head Warrior: Aoife O' Cuirc Warrior 1: Warrior 2: ~~~~~~~~~ Head Healer: Maeve O' Cleirigh Assistant Healer: Venice Westlud ~~~~~~~~~~ Pack Nursery: (The nursery may have a couple NPC small children but otherwise, this is where the player's children will be watched while they work.) Tori *Pending Last Name* | 24 | Female | Luna | Open The quiet pattering of the rain against the window generated a calming background for the female as she sat behind the old wooden desk within the study of the main pack house. Tori had started the day bright and early at the hotel by helping with getting the breakfast bar open for the early risers. Normally she would have still been in the managers office at the hotel but with the Summer Festival date getting closer, she was spending more time at home working on getting things ready. Her hair had been in curls but was now pulled back into a pony tail and the longer sleeves of the dark grey blouse she was wearing were rolled up exposing the artwork that decorated her arms. The tattoo on her neck was mostly covered by makeup as she wanted to have a cleaner, more professional appearance when at the hotel. It would be a different story if she wasn't the Luna. Her eyes glanced to the wedding band on her finger that she began to twist absent-mindedly as her eyes moved back to the computer screen. There was still so much to do it seemed and not having the Alpha or some of the other higher members of the pack around was unnerving to her. She bit her lower lip that was still painted a deep crimson that almost matched her hair as she closed out of one window and leaned back closing her eyes. A deep sigh left her lips as she ran her hands up her face and to her hair trying to release some of the tension that was building beneath the surface. Her ankles were crossed under the desk then uncrossed as she pushed the chair back ready to stand up and straighten the black skirt that she was wearing. Tori stepped from behind the desk, leaving her heels by the chair and moved over to the large bay windows looking out at the other members that were milling about the yard. Tori was an outsider to this group and even though this is her third year being married to the Alpha, sometimes she could feel the animosity from some that an outside shifter was picked. Oh I wish he was here. It would make things a lot easier instead of trying to work both the hotel and manage getting everything ready if I could at least have him to lean on. She thought wrapping her arms around her frame feeling the emptiness of the house without her husband.

Kane Haze | 26 | M | Head Hunter | M: Kaiser, Open Kaiser | 24 | M | Hunter | M: Kane, Open The patter of rain on the deck was only what remained of the storm that they had gone through. They were only supposed to be gone for a day but a sudden storm left them stranded for three. Thankfully, he always made sure that there was extra supplies onboard for such incidents. The male stood tall at the head of his vessel, looking ahead as they neared the shore. Land. He loved land, but he also loved the water and the ocean. However, Kane had been on this ship too long with the same crew. Well, more like the same human crew. He could tolerate humans but sometimes, they got just downright annoying.
Kane would say, he did have a pretty good crew. They all got along pretty well, which half of that was thanks to the playful hunter on board. Kane wouldn't have it any other way. The younger male was always keeping the crew on their toes and cracking jokes. New ones, thank goodness or they all would have gotten tired of him a while ago. Kane scanned the deck from the corner of his eye, finding Kai at the wheel. The boat was already slowing down as they neared and most of the crew had the deck cleaned and the lines ready. ~
Kaiser was enjoying the view as he started slowing down the boat. He normally took to the wheel while Raze made sure everyone was doing their jobs. They had it down by now, so everything looked good. He was a bit tired of eating the same noodles for the last three days so the first thing that was on his mind after this was a good meal. If, of course, that was what Raze wanted to do. Sometimes Kai could figure out the male's expression and other times, he couldn't. Speaking of which, the male turned, pulling out his phone. While he couldn't hear in the helm, he could tell that Raze was communicating with the dock authorities. This would be around the time for that after all, and finally able to get signal.
Kai loved the boat, he loved water and fishing but even three days out on the ocean was too much at a time. They had done this hundreds of times, just not for this long. Kai started slowing down farther before spotting Kane's hand signal. Spotting the two fingers, Kai started to line up to dock two. The fenders went overboard on both sides as they neared. They would stop at a certain point where as the dock wouldn't do any damage to the ship when docking. Kaiser turned a few dials, starting the alignment process. ~
Kane finished his call and after signaling Kai, he went back to the front. Running a hand over the wolf figurehead, he looked over the dock and away from the ocean. "We're home Alpha," he murmured quietly to himself. As head hunter, his duties had been put mainly on hold as the storm stranded them. He knew the Summer Festival was coming up, and that there was probably a ton of papers waiting for him. Mainly, he wanted to get back to his alpha. Knowing Tori, she might be a bit nervous without the other high ranking individuals around.
At first, he had been a bit discomforted with the fact that an outside shifter was his alpha. He quickly got rid of that, knowing how happy it made his alpha finding her. And after getting to know her, he found that he rather liked her. Kane was brought out of his thoughts when his crewmember yelled to the dock, tossing his lines over. Kane made his way over to the side and stepped off onto the dock to help tie it down. Kai quickly joined him with another member. Once the ship was firmly docked, Kane walked back on board before starting to unpack. They might have been stranded but the storms brought good fish.
"Let's the get the equipment off first! It needs to be cleaned before replacing it on deck. You two take care of that. Have the docking crew help you." Kane took charge, wanting this done right but also ready to go home and take a nap. "You four, start unloading the fish! I want all the fish taken off the boat today!" He continued, meeting up with Kaiser to start helping. Thanks to the extra days on the trip, all of the fish had been sorted by species, size and weight. They had caught quite a bit of halibut as well as several varieties of rockfish, salmon and tuna. ~
Their haul was quite big which was no surprise to Kai. They had fished everyday of the storm. He loved the water plus, he didn't get rained on a lot when he went fishing anyway. Kai loved to dive under the surface, rounding up the fish and scaring them into the nets. Not too many at a time, but enough. And it was fun. Kai started helping to take the nets and containers off the ship, walking only a short distance to the truck. The truck had multiple rows of ice to place the fish on. Once they got back to the main warehouse, they would be cleaned and gutted before making their way to sales. Most of their sales went through the fish markets and several distribution channels.
Kai was about to start another load when Kane called him over. "Stay here until the processing crew arrives, then head home. We both need to clean up a bit and get some rest. I'm going to call Alpha and let her know we are okay. And keep an eye on those two, I keep getting odd looks from them." Kane nodded over to two crew members before Kai answered with a mock salute, "Yes Raze sir." He earned an eye roll at the nickname which Kai just grinned at. He then went over to oversee the crew while Kane moved off to the side. ~
Kane pulled out his phone, typing in the familiar number. Now that he finally had towers, he could call Tori. Hopefully she wasn't too stressed from the paperwork for the Festival coming up. Kane put the phone up to his ear as the rings started to come up. If he got voicemail, he was going to be worried. Although, with Kai watching the crew, he could easily slip over to the community and check on her.

Katherine Rosewood // Beta // Female // Mentions: Tori Jeans and a hoodie where what Kat choose to wear... in the fricken rain non the less. Growling under her breath she jogged silently up the street, she wasnt far from Toris home being beta and all meant she needed to be closer the female. Huffing softly she pulled her hood tighter around her, goodness she was one wet dog. Blue eyes blinked away the droplets that rained onto her face as she ran. The sky let out an angry rumble as she leapt the steps in one fel swoop. Now under the little roof ledge she knocked on the door. Kat deemed Tori as a friend, probably the only one she felt even remotly close to, after all its not like Kat was born here either. Kat waited patiently her mind wandering to the whole mate ordeal. Hmmph, her mind was already damaged from that so really.. what was the point of trying again. Even if it hadnt been true, or offical it had felt offical. Kat grimaced at her minds inner turmoil as she stood upon the steps. Least she was hidden from the down poor that had started rather suddenly after she had made it under some shelter. It was to wet out to open the café today, so she had called everyone telling them to stay home. Businesses with drive thrus would be getting all their customers today.. and she couldnt blame them. This was nasty weather, though it did make her wolf itch for a good run. Hah, ya no. That would be like playing with the reaper, after all Kat had a certain risk factor when she listened to her primal canine side.

Jonathan Heavens | 28 | M | Rouge | M; n/a, open The soft pattering of the rain against a window was a tranquil, calming feeling for a certain blond who leaned casually against his desk. A coffee mug against his lips, awaiting a certain pup to wake up for the morning dew. Keeping an easy posture as he grins towards the window against the candlelight, having not turned on the lights finding the light of fire much more soothing. Though, as the blonde waited, he listed out his day. Having yet to start on breakfast due to his coffee running late, not that it would’ve been troublesome, but he stayed up far too late working at the mortuary. Needless to say, Heavens was worn out from the operation, giving him shivers about it all. Thankfully, the man had a break today, and possibly tomorrow. Placing the mug down once he finally rid of these thoughts swarming his head, the sound of rain still littering the vacant kitchen. Walking towards the candlelight as he lifts it, blowing softly to sniff it out. Time to get started, for him and for his son. Knowing that boy will run down once the smell of pancakes hits his nose, the male couldn’t help the softness in his heart swell for the thought. Even so, he was careful to be quiet, especially since he was planning on heading into the woods with his son for a small morning stroll. Whether it was raining or not, it felt like an itch to run, to fly off and hunt. Yet, he had no pack. Sighing, the man barely registered he was making pancakes, already halfway done. Seems he tends to get lost in his thoughts often, nevertheless, he was more than fine with that circumstance. Only flipping the pancakes every once and a while, plating them when he hears soft footsteps. Perking up a bit when he places the plate on the table when a tiny child jumped up near him. “Father! Hello Pa, good morning!” The little boy said, only making the elders' smile widen, lifting his hand as he signed towards his son. I’m doing well. Breakfast, eat, we’ll be taking a walk today. It’s raining Jonathan stated, patting his son's head before walking his way towards his son's room as he hears him agree that he was fine with it. “Okay! Thank you, Pa.” He might go shopping after the walk. Though the more he thought about it, his thoughts wandered toward the pack within the community. Nevertheless, Jon usually tried to keep to himself, not that he hasn’t met some of their pack members. Always kept a more basic attitude, but never talked about himself, not that they could, considering he was mute. It wasn’t a difficult disability, it didn’t make him any less than any other werewolf.

Aoife O'Cuirc || 24 || Female || Head Warrior || Tori, Open . The red head frowned as she turned the wheel of her car, turning onto the stree that would take her to town and eventually home. Only the sound of the windshield wipers and the pattering of the rain sounded within the small vehicle. Aoife sighed glancing at the silent radio, displaying the time in anologe blue numbers. The meeting had run late and had delayed her return home, which did not sit well with her. As the head warrior she was in charge of defense and not being there she worried, not knowing if the warriors would behave and do their jobs. Carefully picking up her phone to check it, she grumbled seeing the lack of notifications. . Upon reaching town Aoife hesitated looking to the small bar, she chuckled seeing Dylan's bike out front but she'd check in later. Speeding past she turned the wipers up as the rain became heavier, frowning as she secured the wheel agaisnt the slick road. Easily streering the silver car down the paths to the collection of houses, she needed to drop a few things off at the pack house before she could go home. Putting the car in park Aoife glared at the dark clouds, pulling her jacket tighter she grabbed her bag and exited the car. Breaking into a run as she quickly made for the entrance, shaking her hair out as she stepped within the warm walls. Walking briskly down familiar halls only sparing others a simple nod in greeting, finally stopping at the alpha's office. Frowning she stepped within and pulled a folder from her bag, pausing as she noticed the Luna standing before one of the windows. "Luna" she voiced softly, dipping her head as she placed the folder on the desk. "My reports from the other packs" she nodded to the woman, before quickly exiting the room. . Sighing in frustration as she left the way she came. Pausing at the exit when she spotted a few warriors conversing, she waved at one and signaled if they needed her. The male smiled and shook his head, giving her the okay signal made her smile in return. Giving a nod she rushed back out to her car, the engine rawring back to life as she made for her cabin. A short 5 minute drive from the pack house, as the familiar log walls came into view Aoife smiled. "Finally home sweet home" she sighed to herself. Parking the car in the driveway, she quickly made for the covered porch. Pausing to look out at the rain and the forest with a smile before entering, the warmth within a much welcome change. Walking over and collapsing onto the couch, Aoife breathed a sigh of relief as the exhuastion of the past week settled in. Perhaps she'd take a short nap here?
