@Burning Roses
Sorry for butting it. But this was a topic that my boyfriend and I were having. Usually has kids, Christmas took forever but as adults living everyday almost the same it goes quicker.
So anyone who has been thinking wow this year has gone fast. My boyfriend and I made an early New Year's resolution.
That to stop taking everyday for granted and to live in each passing second. Find things to look forward to even if it's something small. As time is our biggest enemy and we should time as a gift each passing day instead of seeing each day as "any other day"

Overview
(Basically what is says in the title, except now I'm going to over-explain everything because I can't help myself. Important stuff is in bold.)
`
To start, I've just recently come back to Wolfplay. I was off and on through two different accounts back in 2016-2021, but fell away from the game after that. I rejoined on a whim, wanting to get back into writing with other people, and here I am!
`
I was originally just going to dip my toes into the group RP scene, but it seems I forgot how... intimidating? -- it can be, especially the hardcore literate stuff. Given that I'm just getting back into things, I figured I'd explore other avenues instead. Cue this post.
`
`
Partner "Parameters"
I'm not looking for anything specific. My goal with this is mainly to get back into the roleplaying scene by way of chill 1x1. My only actual "parameters" are that I'd prefer someone who is lit/semi-lit, and that things start off casual.
`
For this RP, I'm not particularly interested on super long responses or specific times of when to respond or be active, etc etc. As long as your response gives me something to build off of (and you're following typical RP ettiquette), it works.
`
I'd generally prefer 2-3+ paragraphs per response, but that's not a hard-and-fast rule. Writing doesn't really have hard-and-fast rules (beyond the basics), and this is supposed to be my chill re-introduction to the medium anyway.
`
A big thing for me is queer characters. I'll get more into this in a later section, but I think it's important to put it up front: I rarely, if ever, main MxF roleplays. If it's a 1x1 with multiple side-characters, maybe. Or, if the relationship is not the main focus of the roleplay. All of my characters tend to be queer. That includes trans and nonbinary characters!
`
(I also, on occasion, use neopronouns for my characters.)
`
To me, the most important thing in a roleplay is communication. No matter what, if you have an issue with the RP, please, please reach out to me. Say you're not interested and are starting to feel burnt out? Just let me know, and we can reevaluate from there. Maybe I wrote something that was uncomfortable or triggering. Tell me, and I'll fix it.
`
I hold this standard for myself, firstly, but also for my partners: if something is bothering you, tell me. Even if it's just benign, like an idea for a character or plot point you'd like to work in. I legitimately would love to hear it. Don't hold back for the sake of "interrupting the flow." Or, god forbid, to "spare my feelings." I promise you, I do not care.
`
Beyond all that... I'd like to think of myself as fairly flexible. My only hard rules are those stated in my pack bio. Don't be an ass, don't start petty drama, and be aware that I won't tolerate hate-speech, aimed either at myself or others. If you're chilling with me, I'm chilling with you.
`
`
(My) Writing Style and Experience
Technically, I'm a hobby writer, but writing is also such a big part of my life and identity that the label feels misleading. That being said, I am a bit rusty, given I've just dragged myself free from a miserable half-year deadlocked with writer's block.
`
I don't have any good examples of my writing that I can link here. Pitfalls of a new account. If you feel it necessary to see an example of my writing or my roleplay style before this, we could do a "faux" RP. A trial run, if you will. Basically, we both grab a random character, give them a few traits, and RP for a few posts in a specific scene. If, after that point, you don't think it'll be a good match, just let me know.
`
I consider myself to be fairly literate, with a rambling style focused around detail and visualization. Think 'striking imagery' and 'critical analysis.' (Yes, I am a freak for themes and symbolism.) When RPing, I prefer to write in third person, past-tense.
`
A general theme of my writing tends to be angst. I am an angsty writer, and a sucker for hurt/comfort. Found family is a big favorite of mine as well, and slow-burn. Anything you're roleplaying with me you can expect to be slow-burn.
`
I've spent a lot of time exploring and carving out my writing style, and thus can say it trends toward gothicism. In the words of a friend (on a review of my work): "[it's] prose-y and fancy and dark." Overall, I tend toward suspense and mystery styles of writing, even outside those genres.
`
I'm not really interested in animal roleplays. I might be willing, if you have something specific that peaks my interest. These days, though, I'm much more about roleplaying human or human-like characters.
`
You'll probably see me swear during the roleplay and discussion boards. A lot, even, depending on the character. My writing style tends to lean toward darker, more mature subjects, so please be aware of that, especially if you are under eighteen.
`
I do have certain things that I am uncomfortable with, both in writing and reading. These are uncommon enough that I don't feel the need to mention them here. If they crop up, I'll let you know.
`
`
Context of Roleplay
I'll be honest, I basically have no solid ideas of what exactly to roleplay. I know that I'd much prefer roleplay with human characters, though there are exceptions (dragon riders, anyone?). I also know that I don't want to spend a whole bunch of time worldbuilding to start. If you have an idea that requires worldbuilding, I'm down to do the basics. The rest we could flesh out over the course of the roleplay.
`
Romantic pairings are often a big part, if not the main factor, in many 1x1 RPs. While I have no problem with that, I also want to make clear that I am readily willing to do non-romantic RPs as well. (As a reminder, if you are interested in a romance RP/main pairing, I do basically anything queer.)
`
Outside of that? The possibilities are endless. I can do fantasy, sci-fi, horror, supernatural, whatever. I was thinking, given the hopefully "chill" nature of this RP, that it would probably be something casual, with room for humor. Knowing myself, it'll probably morph into something angsty or more serious down the line.
`
For the specifics of where this roleplay will take place, I'm planning on utilizing both the 1x1 forum and the Discussions forum.
`
`
Final Thoughts
Wrapping it up now!
`
If you've read all of this and are at all interested, feel free to shoot me a message. No need to "apply" below. Just PM me the vague outline of your thoughts and any possible RP topics.
`
Also if you've read all of this, thanks so much for taking the time to check out this post! I know I can be hella rambly, but I think I covered everything I wanted to. If there's anything else you want to know, my message box is aways open.
`
Peace! xX
