Appearance:

Umbra is not a small dog, and is on the larger side for a female of her breed, standing at a good 26 inches at the shoulder and weighing in at a solid 120 pounds, she otherwise is a typical dog of her breed. With a muscular build and sturdy yet balanced appearance, she is a more intimidating sight to humans and other dogs alike; and she has a athletic, sleek look to her, the line of her neck and back are smooth and flow into each other neatly, only a smal amount of dewlap at the place where her neck meets the back. Unlike many guard type dogs, she has her ears in their natural position, not cropped like others; and her thick tail is completely natural instead of being docked. She has a gait that is free-flowing and powerful, yet effortless at the same time. Her short coat is a jet black in color, hence her name.

Her voice is on the deeper side, but there is a feminine lilt to it when she speaks. Her barks have a deep, booming quality to it, and are sometimes infused with a snarl when it is directed at something; her growls are similarly deep, and they often have a huffing or almost bark rising to the surface, interspersing the rumbles.

Overall Umbra is a very powerful dog, strong and durable, she can stand up to some damage. And give her own, her muscles are visible under her coat when she moves, and her broad muzzle can clamp and hold tightly. She also uses her weight to push opponents off balance or away. She is not a dog that you would want to mess with.

Personality:

Umbra is a confident dog, she is not one to back down, and can be bold when she wants or needs to. She isn't loud about it, it is a quieter type of confidence that is apparent in how she moves, the way she holds her and how it seems to drape around her like a cape. She is also a stubborn dog, she will listen to her humans of course, but overall is a more willful animal and likes to be respected as such.

She is also a very loyal dog, and once you earn his trust, she won't let you down. She would walk through fire for those she has given her loyalty to. And protective too, as a guardian breed she has the more territorial and protective instinct, more so than a good amount of dogs; and she will act on these if she sees fit, if she needs to drive an unwelcome dog or animal or human off of the property. She may not always go looking for a fight, but she will finish the fight if it is started with her.

At the same time, she has a calm and cool demeanor when facing off against others most of the time, a kind of quiet confidence that she will win the stand off. Even idle, there is a collected, noble air to her. She can make noise, and she will, but overall she is on the quieter side; even though she will not hesitate to growl at another dog to assert her position in the group.

Backstory:

Maximus was born on the streets of New York city with his 2 sisters and other brother. when he turned 1 he was caught by the pound and eversine he has been moved home from home he has given up on ever being accepted in a home forever and has turned aggressive at his adoption shelter snarling and barking at anyone who passes his cage but curls up and cries trying to hide his tears when they leave.

personality:

Maximus can be really overconfident and stubborn at times. His strength and size tends to make him feel somewhat invincible or unstoppable, However much he wants this to be true, it is not. Maximus lives in his world of demons in his head making him have episodes where he attacks and doesn't let go. Maximus used to be a kind, friendly dog.. He was a German shepherd who loved hunting and making friends. He is extremely loyal and if you manage to break through his shell he would never let you down.

Appearance:

Maximus is your average colored german shepherd, his pelt is decently fluffed, his frame is lean and has the right amount of muscle for his breed. He has a scar on his left eye giving him his name. (unlike the picture) Maximus's pelt is dirty and full of scars and wounds; he even has a right torn ear. This poor boy can't wait to meet his forever....if it is to happen. He wears a chain collar and a muzzle at his adoption shelter due to his aggression. (when he talks to other dogs: His voice is deep and growly, sending chills down the spines of any dog. Even pit bulls and humans, when he snarls it sounds like a savage wolf giving him the title of the second most powerful mix breed next to the famous Whitefang.
