It's the year 2023, and the Ravik pack has hit their peak. Their peace treaties with other packs in different regions hold strong and steady, and their territory thrives. Nothing threatens them, not even that beast that they had to take care of a little over a year ago now. Pack members have started to get civilian jobs out in the town, finding it better to be out there then at the pack house all day when the water is calm. The pack's alpha, Ikaris, is seemingly the same reckless man as always- despite his best efforts to change. Life wouldn't be life if he didn't manage to stir up some sort of worry, right?
That is exactly what happens one fateful night.

It started off as just one drink at the local bar in town, just one. As always, that one turned into two, then three, four, five.... it never took him long to succumb to the addicting liquid. This time, instead of picking a fight he could win, the werewolf managed to pick a fight with someone he most definitely could not beat. At first, the stranger's superhuman strength slipped his radar. It wasn't until he was quite literally thrown across the room that he realized he had royally fucked up. Ikaris had only heard about creatures like these in stories from his parents and grandparents, they assured him that they were long gone. Yet here he was, laying on the floor as a vampire looked down on him.

Towering above the werewolf was an auburn-haired man, his brown eyes flashing a crimson red as he smiled. Two fangs slid out from their hidden place under his gums, "See you later, wolfy."

This roleplay starts with Ikaris either stumbling his way back home to the pack house, OR him managing to call one of the pack members to come and pick him up. From there, the pack will either learn that vampires have returned to the town OR they'll think he's too drunk and imagined it all. It's really up to the pack to decide if they'll believe their alpha, intoxicated or not.

No matter what they choose, they will eventually find out about vampires. After all, the vampires are going to feed on living things to stay alive. Whether or not they're animals or humans is entirely up to the vampire themselves.

Please make sure you title your posts, ex:
Name || Werewolf/Coven/Loner || Mentions:

You're free to add on more info than what's listed above. They're just the main three things I wanna see!

☾ Ikaris V. Ravik ☽
Werewolf ⋆ Alpha Male ⋆ Mentions: Jackson, Elle, Briar

Silence
. The dead of night drove it's dagger into the chest of a man who was paralyzed by the silk-smooth words that dripped from the bloodied fangs of a curly red-haired vampire. The same vampire that was now kneeling over him, hand tightly gripping his face. The silence between the two was thick enough to cut through earth's strongest metal. Fiery brown eyes stared into the stubbornly defiant green eyes that belong to the alpha male of the Ravik pack, Ikaris. The vampire smirked, pushing his thumb across the beast's bottom lip, smearing blood across it before quickly pulling his hand back to inspect the crimson liquid that dripped from his thumb. Ikaris was frozen, watching as the vampire stuck his thumb into his mouth and sucked the blood off of it, "Tch. You're no wolf."

What the hell was that supposed to mean? The alpha's brows furrowed, his jaw tightening as he flashed a mean look to the vampire. That drew a chuckle from the bloodsucker, "I know that werewolves exist. I mean, look at me. I know a freak when I see one, but you? You're a special kind of freak." Standing up, the red-haired vampire tilted his head, lifting a foot to rest on top of the alpha's chest, "Blood has different flavors, believe it or not, and yours? You don't taste like a wolf." Swallowing the blood that had seeped into his mouth, Ikaris scoffed. Amused, the curly-haired man flashed his teeth in an innocent smile, "I like that." Pausing he drew his foot back off of the beast's chest, "Your spirit. That fire. It's admirable. I'll see you around, Beasty."

As soon as the vampire ran off in a blur, Ikaris broke. The breath he was fighting to hold escaping his raw throat as he looked up at the pitch-black sky. His entire body ached, probably from being thrown twenty feet into a wall. He could reach into his pocket and pull out his phone, call for help, but he was scared. For the first time, maybe in ages, Ikaris Valentine Ravik was terrified. He wasn't even scared of the damn blood sucker. He was scared of what he was. Obviously he didn't want to believe a thing the man said, but what reason did he have to ignore him besides the fact that he's a vampire? The alpha's green gaze drifted across the sky, watching as clouds shifted to reveal the stars. As time felt like it had been frozen, Ikaris got lost in thought. What would happen to him if he really wasn't a werewolf? It was obvious that he could shift into a wolf like the others, but the vampire's comment filled him with dread and uncertainty. Was there a chance he wasn't fully a werewolf? Was it even possible for mutts to exist? Was he a mutt? A half-breed that was living a lie? What would the pack think? Would they come together and overthrow him- exile him? As his heart heavily thudded in his chest, Kari shakily exhaled, "Shit."

As the blueish-black haired man pushed himself up from the gravel of the alleyway he grunted. The constant dull ache in his body reminding him to take it easy. While he wasn't bloodied up, save from the split lip and two split knuckles, he still looked rough. It was obvious that he was hurting, and there was no way he could hide this when he got home. Ikaris reached up to his bun, undoing his hair and letting it cascade over his shoulders like a black waterfall until he could put it back up into a neater bun. Reaching into his pocket with his bloodied hand, Ikaris grabbed onto his phone and pulled it out. As Kari unlocked the phone, he hesitated. Should he try to call Briar to get a ride home? While it was the smart decision, he wasn't fully on board with it. One, it was late... and two, he drank again. He had relapsed, big time. Could he bring himself to sit in a car with Briar knowing full and well he'd be disappointed? Ikaris remembered the day he promised to stop his habit, to only drink in moderation- but tonight he fully broke that promise. One drink turned into two, two turned into four, and four turned into six. While drinking didn't make him prone to violence, it did support his self-destructive urges. That was how he got himself into a fight with a damned vampire. Grumbling, Ikaris stuffed his phone back into his pocket. He could walk home and get his car in the morning.

"V? Oh my gosh!" An all too familiar shrill voice cracked through the silence like a lightning strike, startling Ikaris. Golden-brown eyes and blonde hair. Elle. Throwing on a fake smile, Ikaris straightened his posture, doing his best to mask the pain. For a moment it seemed like he could get away with this, that she would just move on and leave, but those damned forest green eyes ripped the illusion in half. While the small woman could be absolutely vile, he did have to admit she cared to some extent. Immediately she walked up to her ex, reaching a hand up to cup his face, lifting it slightly to take a better look at his split lip. The barricade he tried to set up was falling apart, and those watery eyes told her that whatever had happened tonight struck a nerve in him. Elle softly exhaled, opening her purse and grabbing out a small pack of napkins.

Tearing the package open, she took two napkins and pressed them to his bloodied lips, "Ikaris, what happened?" Her voice was scarily calm. The last time she had shown him any sort of decency was back when they had first started to date. Even back then, genuine concern and worry were rare emotions for her to express. Biting back the urge to pull away and walk off, Ikaris looked down at her, making eye contact with her for the first time tonight as his jaw flexed nervously, "Leave." Kari's chin quivered as he bit back the urge to fall right into her trap. There was just no way she actually cared. Every time he stopped and gave her another chance, she sweet talked her way into getting anything she wanted. Every time that she saw him in shambles, she knew it'd be easy to wrap him around her pinky and play him like a fiddle. Tonight was no different. That sweet intoxicating smell of roses and honey burned his nostrils. Pain-filled eyes closed as he hung his head, his voice cracked as he spoke, "Please- leave."

The blonde pulled her hand back, eyeing the bloody napkins before looking to her ex boyfriend, eyebrows scrunched together as her blood pressure started to rise. Flaring her nostrils, Elle scoffed, "Seriously? I'm trying to help you and you want me to leave? For crying out loud, Ikaris, we dated! I still care for you, so I'm going to make sure that you're safe, got that?" She reacted exactly how he thought she would. A small sigh escaped the werewolf's lips as he pulled his gaze up from the ground, his somber green eyes meeting the golden fire of hers. What could he even say to that? If he tried to be more direct with her, it could cost him something that he didn't want to lose, not tonight. Part of him felt as though he was overreacting, that maybe he had a chance to be direct with her and for her to understand. Weighing his options, Ikaris bit down on his tongue. No. He couldn't do it. The pit in his stomach and the tension in his jaw drove his point home, this situation was bad enough as his, another comment and he could really be in for the worst night of his life. Sensing the dilemma from the other person, Elle crossed her arms over her chest, raising one eyebrow, "So, now you're Mr. Shy Guy. How can such a big man be so scared of little me?"

Ikaris had enough. Taking a step closer to Elle, the injured man shook his head as he curled his top lip, "You know damn well why! You're a fucking monster. You don't know how to show genuine kindness to anyone. You always have some sick, twisted motive. Do you know what you've done? Oh, wait. Of course you know, it makes you happy, doesn't it? I can't ever take a compliment. I can't ever believe anything kind that is said about me, because all I think about is how you would do that and how you would then twist my arm and use me. You were always so fucking good at lying, and now? Now that's all I ever think about other people; that they have to be lying. I hate myself, and it's all your fault." The ex lovers stood in silence, staring at each other as they both soaked in what had just happened. Elle's eyes were wide, her hands clenched into balls as she dug her nails into her palms. Ikaris' heart was too quick and too loud, his breathing erratic. Then Elle smiled, causing his heart to drop into the pit in his stomach. Shit.

--

Several hours later and Ikaris was back home. However, the alpha male was sitting outside of the house in his car. It was silent, save from the chirping of crickets and the occasional hoot from an owl. The leaves in the trees rustled as a small gust of wind rattled them, breaking Ikaris from his thoughts. Kari's grip loosened on the steering wheel, the color dancing back under the skin on his knuckles which had been white from the tight grip he had on the wheel. Tonight had been an absolute mistake. He couldn't help but wonder how things would've gone if he had just kept to himself at the bar, or if he had never gone out in the first place. Either way, he broke a promise and he couldn't help but feel a sense of panic. Would Briar be waiting inside, ready to scold him as soon as he stepped into the pack house? Would he angrily yell at him? Hit him? No, he's not like her. Biting down on his tongue, Ikaris winced. A light coppery taste filled his mouth. Maybe he had bitten down a tiny bit harder than he realized. The small puncture would heal up quickly, so he paid it no mind as he found himself staring at the house. If he stayed in the car any longer, he'd make things worse for himself. He could handle getting yelled at, but he couldn't handle the rampant thoughts that ran through his head in small moments of panic like this. Without any tell, warning, or sign- Ikaris slammed his hands down on the steering wheel and shouted. Frustration, anger, sadness, despair, and fear; it was all too much right now.

Kari laughed at himself bitterly as he wiped his face, his thumb catching a stray tear that had began to roll down his cheek. He was worried, and for what? At most, he'd get a stern talking to by the pack. It was expected. Ikaris Ravik, the alpha male, once again went out on a limb and risked his life by drinking and picking a fight he couldn't handle. Sure, the last time he did this was months ago... but it was still characteristic of him. The wolf was prone to stupid and rash decisions like that. One would assume that the pack would be fed up, that they'd have some sort of plan to kick him out of his role and place someone more sensible in charge. In the end, Ikaris wouldn't really blame them. He was still unsure about why he had to be in charge, despite being the son of the previous alphas. Was that all it took to become a leader? If so, then that's all he had going for him (in his mind).

Finally deciding to bite the bullet, Kari opened the car door. As he got out of the car, the werewolf winced. Dammit. Most of the bruising would heal up by tomorrow night, his split lip would take two days to heal, and his "bruised" ribs would heal in maybe five days. Some ibuprofen could help him shake the pain he felt whenever he inhaled too sharply or drew in deep breaths. Stuffing the keys to his car into his pocket, Ikaris quietly walked towards the pack house, his forest green eyes scanning the windows as he quietly opened the front door and walked inside. It was late, perhaps roughly four in the morning. Typically he never found anyone awake this early... well, most of the time. Thankfully, tonight seemed like one of those nights.

Finally slipping into his room, Ikaris quietly closed his door and locked it. As soon as he slipped his shoes off and crawled onto his bed, a long and dramatic sigh broke the silence, quickly followed by a muffled curse as he covered his mouth. Right, ribs. Kari's gaze drifted to the roof, studying the small ridges in the ceiling as he came to the conclusion of the bar fight being less terrifying than his encounter with Elle. At least he finally snapped? That was new, and he couldn't help but feel proud and confident in that moment. Elle's little smile may have ruined it, but he still stood up to her, and that in itself was a huge feat for him. So, while most of the night was completely shit (between getting beat up, to meeting a vampire, to being attacked by the prissy blonde-haired woman herself), Ikaris couldn't help but feel a bit of pride and happiness at the fact that he actually stood up to Elle tonight, even if it was influenced by alcohol. Bloodied lips curled up in the faintest smile as Kari lightly chuckled, closing his eyes as he let himself drift off. Despite his shit appearance, and mild pain, he was too comfortable to get up to clean himself. That could wait until he woke up from his nap, or (if anyone so dared to do this) it could wait until someone dragged his ass out of bed and make him clean up.

Briar Solanine Tinuviel
Werewolf | The Beta Male | Mentions : Ikaris

A young golden eyed male couldn't sleep. His usual methods of tea and staring at the wall wasn't working - maybe he should get some sleeping pills? He gave a soft groan at the thought as he moved out of bed. Might as well make some coffee, he mused to himself. And he slowly trudged through the dark house - silent as he could be, and he found himself getting a glass of orange juice instead. And he realized he had passed Ikaris's room but there was no one there and he gave a small frown. That was weird, he thought as he grabbed his phone - apparently he had abandoned it on the kitchen counter, and he gave a soft groan at the blinding light, squinting, he saw the time read 2:03 am. And there were no messages from Ikaris indicating where he was and Briar swore he felt his heart drop at that. He had the urge to call or text him, but that would make him look desperate. And so he resorted fo pacing around the kitchen, trying to figure out what to as his next move. And he decided that he would wait up for Ikaris and if he wasn't by dawn - then he'd be extremely worried. He gave a soft sigh as he moved to a loveseat that was stationed by a lamp and had a good view of the entrance - he wasn't gonna miss it when Ikaris came in.

He doesn't know what happened or how fast he was out, but all he remembers was hearing the door open - he noticed that Ikaris seemed tired, and that was the only reason that Briar stayed in his hidden position on the couch, he'd give him a earful later on. Even though Ikaris was a bit away, he could hear a sigh and that worried him. Briar felt his own sigh coming on, and he noted it was 4 am, and he slowly got off the couch And he made it to the frame of Ikaris door, and noted he had already falllen asleep. Must be nice, he thought amused. And he turned away from the door to go to his little office to get some work done. He had some paperwork to do, and he wasn't gonna be going to sleep anytime soon. And be stationed himself at the desk and started some of it.

A Few Hours Later . . .

All Briar knew was he had fell asleep again, and he groggily groaned as he raised his head from the desk. A piece of paper sticking to his cheek and he mumbled a few curses as he took it off. Giving a sigh, he stood up and winced at the sound of the scraping of the chair against the wood. It was too early for this, he inwardly groaned as he noticed the sun had barely even risen, only a handful of colors painted the sky. He gave a soft sigh, and made his way out the office and to Ikaris room, silently watching his slumbering form - debating his wake up style, should he dump water on him? Or open the curtains. Either way, he was getting up and explaining himself and then he could go back to sleep after he cleaned up. Briar wasn't having the Alpha soil his good Egyptian Cotton Sheets - and he carefully walked over to the window and opened the curtains. The rays of light slowly pooling in, and he sat at the foot of the bed, and layed back - his hair pooled along the sheets, some said his hair was way too long for a guy but he didn't care, he too pride in his hair. Turning his head slightly, he looked at the slumbering form of Ikaris, there was an uncommon softness to it. And an almost . . . sadness and longing in them, did he still have feelings for Ikaris? Yes, yes he did. Would he ever be confident enough to just tell him, no, no he didn't think he would be. After all, Ikaris still had a rather warped vision when it came to Elle. Elle, the name sounded sweet but it was like bile on his tongue - he gave a short scowl at the thought of her.

But he focused his attention back on the sleeping male. He reached out his arm - as if to touch his hair, a slight lean as well, but he froze at the thought. What would the others think of him? Him pining over a guy? And he retracted his hand and held it close to him as if he had saved it from some sort of fire, and it was trembling softly - in a way, so was he. And he forced himself to sit up on the bed and he stared hard at the floor a confused and perplex expression on his face. And he slowly grew closer to Ikaris for a second and then he could note the wounds on his face and his rather pungent state and he gave an offended scowl as he wrinkled his nose in displeasure. He shook the male gently but with a firmness to it.

"Ikaris V. Ravik," he hissed threateningly, " you are gonna wake up and let me treat those unattended wounds. Seriously, do you want them to get infected, and then you are going to take a shower because you reek, like horribly. And then and only then can you go back to sleep, but be warned we will be having a talk about you coming in at 4:00 am later." He says and ends with a huff. And he then gets up and goes to get some medical supplies. Some of the things he grabs was a room temperature bottled water, some cotton swabs and cotton balls, hydrogen peroxide, and neosporin. He also grabbed an ice pack for good measure and a towel.

He then took Ikaris face in his hand with a stubborn and annoyed pout on his face, something uncommon for him, after wetting the towel with the room temperature water, he slowly dabbed it on the wounds. If anyone knew Briar, they would know he would've been a medic if he hadnt became Ikaris's right hand man - he had the degree but never put it to use, but he gave a tired sigh. " You know I was worried sick about you, right? You didn't call, didn't text - it took me waking up from an uncomfortable dream to realize you hadn't even been here yet, and then waking up to you trying to sneak back in like some teenager who's done something bad." He lectured, with a worried tone and continued to dab at the facial wounds, particularly the one on his lip and he gave a contemplative hum, "Jordan will need to give you stitches for your lip, the split is too big and food might get in it and we don't want that." And he then grabbed Ikaris's hand softly and dabbed on his bloody knuckles. He had stopped his ranting and was focused on his task at the moment.

"You're reckless, you know." He said softly as he cleaned the wounds, " reckless with yourself and your heart. . ." He said his voice a bit somber and hurt, yet their was something underlying - maybe a longing? Who knew, " I don't know what drove you to drink to this extent after being good for ages, but I'd rather you talk to me then whatever the hell happened," and he raised his hand for extra measure as he was referring to the myriad of wounds and bruises. And that's when he caught a sickening whiff of a unpleasantly familiar scent and he couldn't help but lean in at the smell and he gave a small angry frown, "why do you smell like that cheap and loud cologne that that wench of women wears. Ikaris, don't tell me . . ." His voice was a mix of emotions anger, shock, but what shone through the most was hurt. And he had to pinch the bridge of his nose angrily and give a angry grunt of frustration - he didn't know whether it was jealousy coursing through his veins or just pure anger at the whole situation. He had to give a calming sigh.

He decided the best course of action was to change the topic before he went ballistic, "So when you wake up, what do you want to eat? And if the pack asks, what's going on - what do you want me to tell them, besides not to disturb you while you rest and get yourself situated."

Scarlet Penelope Bloom

Vampire | Coven Leader | Indirectly Mentions: Jackson, the Coven

As dawn's first light painted the sky with hues of orange and gold, the house started to come to life. The house was on a hill, looking over the town and the forest, with golden gates surrounding the house and yard. For all the town knew, some rich family bought this mansion, looking for some fresh air and a new start. No one, besides the Coven, knew why anyone would want to buy this haunted mansion. Scarlet explained it away as a “fixer upper” house, but the truth was Scarlet’s grandmother used to own this mansion. Majority of the belongings were still in the house, covered in white cloth to help prevent dust. It brought Scarlet a sense of closure being here. Yet, fueled a centuries long grudge to get back at the wolves who hunted her family. Scarlet asked the Coven to play nice with the townsfolk, to help out throughout town, to only feed from animals or the blood bank to maintain a low profile. She wanted the town to be her allies and when it was time - to help run the werewolves out.

Scarlet and the Coven had made a point to befriend a few key figures in town. Honey-coated smiles and charm with a little bit of compulsion won them over. They attended community events, joined local clubs, and volunteered for various causes. Over time, the townsfolk began to see them as eccentric but friendly newcomers, unaware of their true nature, every one of her members had their unique ways of fitting in. While the Coven was committed to maintaining a low profile, Scarlet wanted time to plot. She couldn’t - wouldn’t - risk her Coven. They would be prepared when a confrontation happens. Months of renovation took place at the mansion. Completely transforming the once dated home to a more modern look. To keep strengthening their bonds with the town, the gates opened. Often hosting gatherings and parties that the whole town eagerly attended. Yet, there was still a trepidation presence to the home that had many looking over the shoulders like something was going to jump out from the shadows. Nonetheless, the townspeople couldn't help but marvel at the transformation and the free alcohol helped subdue any anxious feelings. While the Coven was integrating with the townspeople, they were also eavesdropping on conversations and uncovering hidden secrets of the past through drunken rambles or morning gossip.

Inside the towering mansion, Scarlet stirred from her slumber, her locks of lilac hair sprawled out on her black satin pillowcases. Beside her, nestled comfortably on a velvet cushion, was her ever-loyal companion, a sleek black cat named Persephone. As Scarlet slowly opened her eyes, Persephone stretched, arching her back with grace, and blinked her bright, emerald eyes in greeting. With a soft smile, Scarlet rose from her bed and scratched the purring feline on her head. She made her way to the window, where the first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting playful patterns on the wooden floor. She stared out into the vast forest, she had heard Jackson come in late and wondered what sort of mischief he was up to. It brought a smile to her face. Her Coven has been patient, keeping to the shadows. She listened to them and they listened to her. This was a long game, and they would reap the rewards to come.

Scarlet moved towards the door, her companion on her heels. She made sure to feed Persephone first before making coffee for herself. Scarlet rummaged through the fridge, grabbing a bag of blood and pouring some in her coffee. She swirled the mixture, getting lost in a daydream. Persephone jumped onto the counter and stared Scarlet down before sneezing to get her attention. Scarlet sighed a laugh before opening up the blinds in the house. As the morning light grew stronger, Scarlet began her daily ritual, gently tending to each plant with nurturing hands, sipping her bloody coffee. Persephone, the inquisitive feline, followed Scarlet from one plant to another, occasionally pausing to bat playfully at a falling leaf or to bask in the sun's warm embrace.

Amidst her daily chores, Scarlet's mind wandered back to the past, to the memories that tied her to this grand mansion. The creaking of the old wooden floors and the soft rustling of leaves outside seemed to echo the whispers of her ancestors, the vampires who once called this place home. Her grandmother, in particular, held a special place in her heart. Lightly touching her necklace as she reflected on her grandmother’s memory.

Shadow Dresden | 24 | M | Lone werewolf | M: Elle
Light filtered into the cabin and a small growl came from the slumbering form. The large male pulled himself into a sitting position, groaning slightly. It had been a long night. Shadow huffed, yawning. He had been extra paranoid for the last year, still not completely sure if that beast was actually gone. The pack had taken care of it pretty well, with only a few casualties. One in which being a fellow loner. Well, fellow is a strong word. Shadow didn't take too well to any werewolf, or anyone, too well.

The cabin was almost finished, which he had spent most of the night doing. He actually stayed away from a bar last night. Success, only because he was too tired to go back into town after finishing the roof. The cabin had been half wrecked last year, and it had taken him that much time to transfer everything over to it. The lake was a beautiful view and a perfect spot. Technically, the lake marked the edge of the werewolf pack's territory that was in the area. However, his cabin was back in the forest line, away from the border.

It was a fine line but he didn't bother the pack...much. It was when he was itching for trouble or hunting. Shadow huffed, pulling himself out of bed. No reason to try and go back to sleep now. He checked the time and chuckled to himself. His alarm hadn't gone off, he had turned it off the night before. Yet he still woke up at 6'am. Pfft, he couldn't sleep in for the life of him. Shadow shook away the sleepiness as he got dressed. His cabin had a small amount of electricity thanks to some solar panels he had set up a couple months ago. While he was still trying to figure out how to get the shower working, the lake worked pretty well.

Shadow pulled on his jacket before making his way out of the cabin. He ran a hand through his hair before pausing at the lake shore. The shift came easily, his skin turning to fur and his hands into paws. He shook out his black fur before walking into the water. He didn't exactly like swimming or water in his fur, he looked like a puffy hedgehog when he got out. He knew how to swim though, it could save him especially if his opponent didn't like to or couldn't. He just didn't need to like it.

Shadow pulled himself out of the water a few minutes later and shook off. Yep, he looked like a porcupine now. He sighed before shifting back into his human form. Walking inside, he started his breakfast. Eggs and pancakes. He couldn't tire of them, which was good since he had the ingredients that could last him weeks for it. Shadow went to making them, beating the eggs and watching the stove.

About 10 minutes later, he sat down to eat. He finished up quickly, washing his dish and drying it. Considering he was the only one living in the cabin, he kept it relatively clean. Shadow grabbed his mask before heading out the door. Something that he wore no matter where he went. It was an odd looking mask but he was an odd man anyway. Every week, he would go and help the town unload supplies. However, the shipment wasn't due until tomorrow, so he had time to kill. Shadow wasn't too sure what to do with himself, although he knew one thing. He could use a drink.
Shifting into his wolf, he loped past the lake and up the pack border.

Considering how early it was, he was hoping that not many of the pack was out yet. Even if they were, he was technically outside the border. For the moment anyway. Loping up the hill, it took him about half an hour to get up to the town. Staying in the shadows, he shifted back into his human form before heading into the town. He didn't care for crowds, but it was still pretty early in the morning so he wouldn't have to worry much.

Shadow got up to the door and sighed, rolling his eyes at himself before walking in. Every morning for the last couple of months, he had found himself here getting a drink. Not plain alcohol of course, that would just ruin his day. Their apple cider always gave him that energy to do something. Plus, it was better than the store's. He thought it was because of the alcohol that they mixed in with it. Shadow walked to the counter, his eyes scanning the bar. Not many people were there, per normal, but there were a few.

Shadow sat down at the counter before waiting for one of the bartenders to arrive. He watched the lazy men around him as he waited. He had gotten the same drink for the last three months with pretty much the same bartenders. Surprisingly, there was one that didn't annoy him and was content to talk to. She wasn't there every morning, but he was half-hoping she was here today. He needed that pep that she managed to pull off.

Jordan Mathis || Werewolf ||Medic || Mentions: Ikaris &Briar ind.

♠ ♣ ♠ ♣ ♠ ♣ ♠ ♣ ♠ ♣

The early morning always seemed most tranquil to Jordan, maybe because it was for a moment that he could sit and be still. Here, he didn’t want to worry about pleasing others or putting on a smile at a grim time, or hiding his injuries. All he had to do was breathe. Though sleep would also be a delectable delicacy at this hour, would it not? Eh, he could sleep at other times need be. Things were peaceful now. That pack was flourishing and everything was fine. Though Jordan wondered how long this peace would truly last. Afterall, nothing lasts forever. In his mind, it was only a matter of time. Only a matter of time before something happened. But he’d be ready. He had to be. But that was the future and this was the present. As much as he loved to be prepared for what may come, Jordan knew well enough that enjoying each moment was vital. He knew you can never go back and change things or make that moment last… So each moment was to be lived to the fullest, whether it be joyful or painful. It was the way life was. Now sitting under the stars, holding a mug of warm tea, Jordan inhaled in the cold, crisp, delightful air. Life was better off simple, was it not? These nights were like therapy to him.

As a breeze blew through the air, Jordan smiled, setting down the mug after one more sip and he wiped his mouth with his sleeve. The world is so beautiful. I wish everyone could see it like this. Nature is a blessing. A gift. It should be cherished, He thought as he rose from the earth, away from the soft moss he’d been resting on. By now, the birds had begun to chirp, but only a few as the sun hadn’t even risen yet. The crickets began to quit their nightly songs and the little night critters were finishing their scavenging for the evening. For a moment, the sweet call of sleep called Jordan’s name, and his eyes felt heavy, calling him back to the pack cabin. Despite being quite the tall massive man, he’d perfected the ability to slip in and out of the cabin without anyone noticing. Well, for the most part that was.

Jordan crouched to pick up the mug when he caught a glimpse of his bare, outreached hand, specifically the wrist. He winced and cringed a bit at the horror sight, but let out a small breath, accepting everything about it. He didn’t have to hide it here, not from the birds or the mice, not even the crickets, and those little insects were VERY talkative. So, he grabbed the mug with the other hand and slipped the gloves that had laid a bit far off into his pocket, his sparkling green eyes warm yet tired. With a final breath, the man took one last look at the beautiful woods around him before turning and walking down the path he’d basically made himself. Each footstep was purposeful, thoughtful, and careful. He didn’t want to disturb a single piece of nature; not to step on a single flower to break its petals and destroy its hard earned beauty. Save the useful herbs that grew along the path. He’d scouted this forest head to toe in search of useful foraging sights. Afterall, he didn’t want to over harvest one patch of lavender for example, and hurt its growth. Lavender, though, was bountiful here, and luckily so, as it helped Jordan sleep at night. He wasn’t sure if the others knew, but after long days, he liked to tuck away tufts of lavender in different places throughout the house to help bring relaxation to the mind. Even if the act wasn’t noticed, Jordan hoped it helped.

Though on his walk back, the air carried the scent of something more than lavender and the fresh dew utop the mountain moss. It was a different smell, one Jordan wasn’t all too happy in detecting. Booze? He wrinkled his nose and picked up the pace, treading more and more lightly as he went on. He slipped through the trees and undergrowth, following the smell all the way back to the cabin, although it was rather faint now. The sun had already begun to peak and the sky was starting to brighten ever so slightly while more birds began their morning choir. Maybe I’m just sleep deprived. I’ll take a quick nap, He deducted. Afterall, not much was happening as of late, and he wasn’t really needed as the medic, and part of him hoped he’d never have to be busy with his duties past organizing and preparing. Though the scent lingering in the air didn’t bode well, no matter how much he attempted to ignore it. As he entered the grounds and walked up to the porch, he did so carefully and quietly before being hit with another smell. Blood? Blood and gasoline. His emerald eyes swervled to the car that was parked a bit aways. Someone’s been out recently. I can’t tell how long, but what, its five or six am right now? Jordan narrowed his gaze for a moment before continuing inside. As he entered, he nearly had to duck his head due to his height, and the floorboards squeaked and strained underneath him, a calming sound to him. While he ventured forward silently, eyes set ahead before rounding the corner, hearing hushed voices coming from one of the rooms. Ikaris’s room? Erm… its none of my business. You wouldn’t want someone poking into you, right? Jordan passed by the room, seeing shadows dance underneath the door. Someone else was inside, and the smell of booze lingered here as well as blood. Although he was worried, Jordan knew Ikaris could take care of himself, and should they need him, they knew where to find him.

Jordan sighed breifly, then headed to the kitchen to start making breakfast before he would return to his room. He enjoyed making meals for the pack whenever he could, though it was mostly just for himself as a stress reliever. With silence and care, Jordan fixed up some eggs, bacon, pancakes, and freshly squeezed orange juice, putting the assortment of food out neatly for the others to eat at their own leisure before he slipped off to his room and redress.

Zane Felix | 19 | M | Werewolf | Hunter | M: Jordan(dir & ind)
Beep! Beep! Beep! The first alarm went off. A hand reached out of the mess of covers to try to turn it off. Failed twice. Success for the third time.
~Fifteen minutes later~
Buzz....Bada..bada. .bada..badadada. A groan could be heard from the covers as Zane pulled himself up. When did he change that alarm? And why the heck was it on the Jaws theme? Zane rubbed his eyes, letting out a big yawn. Blargh, maybe he shouldn't set his alarm in the mornings. He most definitely wasn't a morning person.

Zane stretched before pulling himself to his feet. No point in going back to bed now. He walked into the bathroom, intent on getting a cold shower to wake him up.
~Half hour later~
Zane finished dressing and looked in the mirror long enough to run a hand through his hair. Not much hair to do that with but Zane didn't mind. He preferred shorter hair to long hair. Finally just shaking his head, as he knew his hair would go wherever it wanted to, he walked out the door. He hid a yawn as he walked downstairs, humming a soft tune to himself.

Oh what trouble to get into today? He definitely wanted to go to the store, he ran out of glitter yesterday. Anything that he could put in the oddest places as a joke was his jam. Yes, it could be annoying but someone had to do it. Zane walked into the kitchen just as Jordan slipped out of the room. The smell of eggs and bacon finally redirected his thoughts and he grinned as he saw the food. He may be a hunter but he dreaded kitchen duty. Yes, he was fine with doing the dishes and cleaning up. He was horrible with cooking. Thankfully, he never had to do that with Jordan around.

Zane walked over to where Jordan had disappeared, looking down the hallway before leaving it alone. He would be back most likely. Zane grabbed a plate before grabbing a little bit of everything. Pulling out a glass from one of the cabinets, he poured himself some orange juice before settling at the table. After breakfast, depending on whether the betas and alphas were up, he might go to the store. Although, definitely after a hunt. He wanted some jerky for the next couple nights. He hadn't had any deer jerky for a while, although elk was his favorite by far right now.

Solaris Acoran - Werewolf - Loner - Mentions: N/A

The coming of dawn first announced itself with vibrant colors of orange and red leaking into the pale blue and deeper blue-black of the sky, the night slowly retreating from the coming day, giving ground to the inevitable light but still hesitant to fully creep from the fire-toned hues painting the sky. The stars nearest the epicenter of the sun winked out swiftly, the rest of the white pinpricks in the still darker sky were visible and would be for a few minutes yet at least.

A light breeze twined around the forest, the gentle current parting to flow past the sturdy trees and weaving between green foliage in the still shadowed woodland. Hidden in the leaf litter that covered the soft, malleable soil of land untouched by the ever-grasping hands of humans, were a set of fresh prints pressed into the ground. They were canine in nature yet far larger than would be seen by any, spanning larger than a man's hand it could be a terrifying sight to those unfamiliar with what canid makes tracks that large.

If one were to follow the pawprints pressed into the earth and leaf litter, they would find that the creature on the other end of the path would be unhappy to be found. For a monster of a wolf lay in the lightening shadows of the forest, the silvers and grays of his coat hidden by the foliage that lay like a patchy green blanket over the sprawled form, gray eyes the color of coming stormclouds lazily regarding what could be seen of the sky through the expansive branches and leaves.

As night gave way to the earliest times of morning, the wolf lay nigh motionless in the foliage and shadows of the forest, save for a twitch of an ear or the gentle rise and fall of his flanks. Those sharp eyes held a look that could be called melancholy as he basked in the lingering hour of darkness, the sounds of the woodland quiet to the sensitive hearing of such a canid, a stark reminder of what had been lost and left behind in several years past.

The snapping of a twig underfoot provoked the beast of a canine to spring to his paws, a snarl tearing out of his throat as lips pulled back from deadly teeth, the graceful lines of his form bristling with barely restrained tension. The wrinkles created on the top of his muzzle gradually eased as long moments passed with no sign of attacker nor fellow creature, lean muscles easing as silence reigned and only the scents of natural animals drifted through the air.

Finally he swung his head away from the patch of shadow that had occupied his attention for the past several minutes, a deep sigh sounding from his parted jaws. With a last glance the wolf turned away, for he had already spent too long in this little place in the forest he had found. The surrounding lonliness that had driven the creature to the forest and somewhat near the territory of the pack that controlled the area, the absence of other wolves weaving unspoken stories into the night air was something that grated deep inside, and yet the forest had provided little balm to that jagged part that desired the company of similiar creatures as he.

But he knew that he was around the established pack's domain, at least he severely hoped that he was around it and not inside a portion of it. The wolf's knowledge of the surrounding area was not the best nor the most solid, a newcomer to the town never knew much about the location in which he came to live for a time. The mere presence of his own kind both soothed and ignited that desire to run with fellow Wolves, calming that instinct so that he was able to exist without the indescribable yearning, and stoking it so that he was ever more aware of the loss.

With a huff of air, the silvery creature turned and began to leave the area which he had been taking a rest.
