The Arcology
Widow's Hourglass is a state of the art facility. It can house over 20,000 humans. Their are many areas to explore and have fun in. The people here are smart and intelligent and they have managed to get power back into the facility but for how long they do not know.
• The Northern Area
Susana Gardens: These are 4 large state of the art gardening areas. The rooms being ; Periwinkle Room, Alibastor Room , Creek Room , and Baijou Room. Periwinkle Room holds all the beautiful fresh flowers for the facility that the users can decorate with, but is not used much as people aren't into decorating that much. Alibastor Room is a chef's delight holding the plants for making spices and may herbs. Creek Room holds all the veggies. Baijou holds all the fruits.
Aero Park: A literal park with trees and lots of fresh green grass. It even has a pond to feed the ducks. It is a very relaxing and calm place even including many food stands and a bonsai garden.
Medical Wing #1 : A smaller facility, can hold 50 patients and only 6 ER spaces. This facility is only equipped for minor injuries like scrapes cuts and the occasional broken arm.leg, and ribs nothing major like cancer or if someone comes in impaled, that's what Wing #2 is for.
• The Southern Area
The Campgrounds: Not a literal camping site, this is where those 12 and under are residing. They each have their own room and can decorate it to their liking. Pets are allowed but they must ask and adult for permission and prove themselves responsible. They also have access to an area know as the Ügdon Room.
Ügdon Room: A room where the teens and preteens hang out. They got a lot of options to have fun here. A arcade, a hangout do the teens mainly and some preteens. Basketball Court (only 4 basketballs left). A full volleyball court with the sand and everything along with archery and a shooting range. Archery and Shooting Range for 14+ Only.
Crow's Nest: A teenager's paradise. Fitted with a lounge area and the latest gaming consoles each teen also gets their own room. Each room has a mini snack bar for them and they can order snacks for a small fee. Each teen can decorate their room to their liking. Their is a makeshift barber and hair salon here as well.
Boarding Nook: Area for those 18+ to snooze and rest. Equipped with snack bars, jacuzzi's , and a pool this is the place to be. Those who wanna come have fun have to have an adult supervisor. Everyone has their own room
Medical Wing #2: A larger facility holding 200. With 40 ER's. They can treat larger and deadlier cases. Medical supplies here are running low though. They can treat cancers, do operations , and birth babies here.

Creatures
Predators
Dangerous to Least Dangerous
Folioccisors: This creature has the shape of a wolf, and a tail like that of a stingray. The whole back, head, and tail of the beast appear to be made up of large, leaf-like sheets of skin, frilled aroung the edges, allowing it to blend in among the plants and ferns. On its chest and belly are vine-like 'stems', perhaps also serving for camouflage. The head, small in proportion to the rest of its body, is very flat, and triangluar. It doesn't have any eyes. On the tip of it's head it a small, somewhat cat-like nose (with no bridge, the whole head is flat). The creature has a long, forked tongue. Hidden under the frills at the back of its head, are two ear slits. This beast, due to its thick, armor-like skin, is very resistant to the wind. Despite the thickness of its skin, the Folioccisor is actually very sensitive to vibrations in the surrounding air and ground. Usually grey with blue/purple tints, they blend in well with rocky surroundings.
Fignis' (Felis Venenum): This tiger-like creature is not exceptionally big, they can grow up to five feet long (without the tail), and 2.5 feet high in the shoulder. Well-muscled and powerful, they are generally the top predators. Their skin is crimson, with blue luminescent tiger stripes for males, and purple for females. Fignis also have tails, like that of a scorpion, the sting being luminescent, and containing a poison that paralyses prey. Generally, the tail is not carried arched over the feline's back, though it may be put in such a position as a threat, or when in a fight. The creatures have two pairs of cat-like (though furless) ears, one situated directly behind the other on their heads. It addition to their nose, Fignis also have three pairs of nostrils in their necks, though those are not used to detect scents. Though solitary hunters, they may sometimes share a den, or sleeping area with a small amount of other Fignis. They feed mainly on Ticdees and Monkey Bats, being adept climbers and able to jump very high.
Windfiends: The only creature crazy, or skilled enough to fly. They have six thin, long limbs, including two legs, two arms, and two large, bat-like wings. Their tails are long and thin, with a large fin on the end, which can can opened and closed for better control in flight. Due to the extreme strength of the winds, Windfiends glide, rather than actively fly. Very sharp talons allow them to grip the trunks of trees, or cliffs in mid-flight, in order to land. Though they are able to land on flat ground, it is much harder. Their heads resemble that of a canine in shape, though their snouts are larger, fitting two rows of long, poisonous fangs. These fangs are able to fold back when not in use, and Windfiends may sometimes squirt poison at the eyes of an attack to temporarily blind them. Windfiends come in various shades of blue, and have very bright green eyes. A green, luminescent stripe runs from the nose, along the spine, and to the very tip of their tail. Though relatively small (Windfiends can grow up to three feet long, including the tail), the creature is one to be feared, especially as they live in groups of twelve to twenty Windfiends. Despite their dangerous reputation, Windfiends are actually herbivores, feeding on the tougher plants in the Mountains. They use their teeth to tear through the thick protective skins of plants, and the poison is used to soften and digest their food.
The Prey
Phozas (Alucinatio Aculeus): Curious creatures, similar to jellyfish for their appearance, and to wasps for their sting and swarming behaviour. Phozas are semi-transparent, airborne creatures, which appear to 'swim' through the air. Fairly small, a large Phoza would be about the diameter of a human palm. Though not exceptionally fast, their sting can cause pain and severe hallucinations, which can last from an hour to several days, depending on the amount of poison injected. Phozas give off a faint, bluish glow, but, when about to sting, will light up with a much brighter light. They live in small groups of no more than twelve individuals, and make their nests in Chants, or Giant Mushrooms. The nests of Phozas are simply tunnels they dig out in the centre of their home mushroom.
Ticdees (Caerulus Lepus): Yeah, a rabbit with antlers. Almost. With a rabbit-shaped head and body, but deer-like legs (with paws, not hooves) and tail, but they have no fur at all. They have four eyes, two located where a rabbit's eyes would normally be, but another two smaller eyes located on either side of the nose. The ears are different, too. In fact, there don't appear to be any ears at all, just five thin slits around the back of the Ticdee's head. Between them, are long flaps of skin, the shape of a rabbit's ears, which are lifted to form a 'crown' around the creature's head to appear larger and more threatening, or as a warning signal. In terms of colour, Ticdees generally have dark blue skin, with paler blue spots on their backs. The 'ear flaps' have a design very similar to that of the Peacock grass, with a dark purple center, surrounded by a blue luminescent line. They have completely black eyes. Males a set smooth, thin antlers, of a black colour, as dark as their eyes. Females have a set of thin, very sharp fangs, too long to fit in their mouth. Ticdees are Herbivores, and live in small groups. The fangs and antlers are mainly for show, but are also useful for warding off predators. Agile and quick for their size (Ticdees can grow up to 3 feet high), they tend to run from threats, rather than attack. But if they are cornered, Ticdees are very far from cute bunnies... They are the staple diet of most predators, and are edible for humans.
Monkey bats (Octolacertus): A weird name, and a weirder creature. Somewhat like a very thin monkey with two legs and two arms, and a bat-like wing membranes stretched between the arms and body (resulting in four 'wings', two on each side). They are fairly small, ranging from 20 to 31 inches in height, but with a very long, thin tail, usually about twice the Monkey bat's height. They have small, round ears on either side of their head, but lack eyes completely. Instead, they have two small, dark spots where eyes would normally be, which are used for picking up chemical traces in the air, somewhat like a second nose. Like most animals on the planet, they have no fur. Living mostly in the fern trees, or roosting on the roof of a cave, they generally have darker green, brown, or red skin, and, unusually for animals dwelling the Caves, have no luminescent markings. Monkey bats are omnivores, feeding on plants, fungi, and Phozas - they are immune to Phoza poison. Living in swarms of up to fifty individuals, they could, potentially, be a threat, but have a very shy nature, generally avoiding conflict.
Sectems (Circapenna):A small creature compared to the others, measuring 4 - 5 inches in length, with helicopter-like wings for flying. Their blades only allow them to glide, but they are very good climbers. Their scales are iridescent and illuminate their surroundings when a small fraction of light manages to interact with them. The colors vary from violets to cerulean blues for males, and reds to orange hues for females. Females are found more often on the surface than males, as they lay their eggs in open, yet humid air. Mating rituals including the males flashing their colorful lights while doing a dance with the female. This occurs at night, as it's easier for the males to strut their stuff. Though the males have pincers to fend off threats, they are neutral, often flying away if feeling threatened. They eat smaller insects and are able of making a light whistle sound with their wings to impress each other. They usually travel in bands, and are only considered "swarms" when they gather for a dance.
The Odd Plant Life
Fern Trees: Taller, wider, and stronger than their branchless, cave-dwelling counterparts, the trees have a much thicker trunk, and grow to immense sizes (up to 32 ft high, and 8ft in diameter at the base). Their branches, also thick and strong, are usually very twisted and tangled, with huge fern fronds instead of leaves. The presence of branches allows the trees to create more of a windbreak, creating a small forested spot where the winds are slightly weaker, so that other life can survive.
Giant 'Snail Shell': As the name suggests, this plant resembles a snail's shell that grows out of the ground, usually in colours of dark purple/grey. They can have up to a 12 ft diameter, and up to 3 ft wide. The outside skin of this plant is very thick and strong, making it hard to break through. Windfiends, however, are able to do so, and can consume the succulent, reddish-purple flesh of the plant. Giant Snail Shells also contribute to weakening the wind in the patches of forest.
Alpine moss: In places, it is a thin, velvety growth that clings to life on the open, windy plateaus. On others, it is a thick, spongy moss that coveres the rocky ground in the forest patches. It is one species, and the difference is caused purely by the different conditions in which the moss grows. It is of a pale blue colour, fitting in among the bleak world. The moss is very good at retaining water, and that is its main function in the high region's ecosystem. It is a crucial part of the forest patches, to the point that animals would very often be seen squeezing the water out of the moss to quench their thirst.
Snake Vines (Vinea Laqueus): It hasn't been quite decided whether this is a plant, or an animal. Snake vines consist of up to nine long 'vines', all growing from a common root. Black in colour, with a smooth surface, they aren't very noticable in the dimly lit caves. Snake vines may appear to be harmless, laying on the ground, or reaching up to curl around a tree, but they are capable of moving very quickly, ensnaring animals that disturb them with surprising speed. This is purely a defence mechanism, and, aside from being trapped, with the possibility of starving to death, no harm is done.
Fern Trees (Bratus Tortilis): The sole species that makes up the forest, these huge plants can grow up to five meters high. With a thick trunk resembling two wooden stems woven around each other, it is very strong. It doesn't have any branches, their place taken by vast fern fronds, wide enough for four people to comfortably lie down on one, side by side. Among the dangerous, treacherous species that dwell in the caves, this is the most peaceful and docile. It is neither poisonous, nor carnivorous. In fact, it produces a sap-like liquid that gathers at the tips of the 'fern' leaves, which has a mysterious ability to heal wounds, speeding up the natural repair processes considerably.
Deadly lillies (Albus mortem): Resembling lillies in shape, these huge carnivorous flowers grow from a single, strong stem, and stand alone, far apart from others of their kind. Their petals are of a luminescent, pure white colour, each the size of a grown human. Thin, golden tentacles sprout from the center of the flower, with the function of capturing prey, pulling it into the flower, and injecting a potent poison that dissolves the prey. While it is digesting, the flower remains tightly closed, the dull creamy-grey undersides of the petals making it less noticeable. Deadly lillies are very rare.
Golden lights (Vinea Sibilus): Another harmless species, these thin, purple vines are often found hanging off Fern Trees, their fluffy tips giving off a bright golden glow. When touched, these vines will emit a bright flash of light, along with a faint hissing sound, but nothing more.
Giant Mushrooms, nicknamed 'Chants' by the humans (Fungus Magna): Closely resembling chanterelle mushrooms, but with a flatter top, and tall enough for a human to just fit beneath, these crimson fungi are fairly common in the Caves. Golden, luminescent veins glow dimly, adding to the overall lighting in the forest. These mushrooms are just mushrooms, in the sense that they are not a threat. They do, however, house one of the more dangerous creatures of the caves - Chants are often homes to Phozas.
Peacock grass (Pavo Muscus): The main plant that covers the ground. Actually, it is a moss, rather than a grass, and has two 'layers'. The first is very much like the moss on earth - it's even green! - and provides a thick, spongy layer. The second consists of thin, tall stems (about knee-height), with 'peacock eyes' on their tips. The stems are pale green, while the eyes have a dark purple center, surrounded by a luminescent blue line. The moss was called a 'grass' for its stems, which, to the newly arrived humans, resembled grass.
Cornberries (Crusta baca): Another grass-like plant, very closely resembling corn. The 'fruit' at the top of the stalk is protected by a very hard, thick shell. When the fruit ripens, this shell opens, revealing a cluster of round, dark purple berries. These are the only berries that are edible for human beings. Ironically, for native species, this is an immensely poisonous plant. Cornberry grasses grow together in small patches throughout the Caves.
Bell bushes (Tintinnabulum Arbuscula): A relatively small shrub, consisting of dark bluish brown stems, tangled into a dense bush. It doesn't have any leaves (as there is little to no starlight in the Caves). Despite its small size (the shrub rarely grows higher than 28 inches), it has huge flowers, resembling a bell in shape, and ranging from 12 to 16 inches in length, and 8 to 10 inches in diameter at the widest part. These flowers are golden, and glow from the inside. Bell bush berries are also golden in colour, and, growing in clusters, are about the size of a large tomato.
Other small flowers, shrubs, and fungi: there are many other plants and fungi growing here, many of which are poisonous, and some of which bite, sting, or just hiss. Some are innocent, while others just appear so. They tend to have smooth surfaces, and there are many different colours, the most common of which include purple, red, and gold.
The Lost
Every Lost One looks completely different. They still look like their human self, just infected. A Lost One's flesh is a pale blue color, nearly grey. It is lacerated and decomposed like an dead corpse. Their eye sockets are hollow and deep, their eyes bulge out. Most Lost Ones are missing body parts, particularly arms and ears. As well as toes and fingers. Some can even be only the top half of a person, severed from their waist. Wherever a someone/Lost One is infected, they have large, defined blue-ish black veins sprouting off of it like tree roots. They all walk funny, limping and heaving themselves along.
- Personalities -
Lost Ones can speak if they aren't past Gone. Once a Lost One is past Gone, they become rabid animals. incapable of speaking or thinking, only knowing they want to devour human flesh. Other than that, Lost Ones are just like insane humans who have a desire to murder and kill people. Every one has a different personality, but they're all insane and unable to speak to like a regular human being. They can speak to each other, and could be compared to a pack of wild hyenas. They all have the exact same, insane, high pitched, psychotic laugh. All these beasts have anger issues, and if you say one wrong thing they won't hesitate to rip you to pieces.
- Locations -
Lost Ones that are past Gone are everywhere. They crawl in alleyways, hide in dumpsters, live in every single place you can imagine. Even though they're rabid and wild, those past Gone can leap out of nowhere and attack. Their screams and gurgles of incomprehensible words usually gives away their locations. Those who aren't past Gone have been herded up by what was left of United States Army and confined to certain places of cities. The Army has long since abanoned guarding them, so they can run free whenever they please. Mostly hiding out during the day, nightfall is when the past Gone, Lost Ones come out to play. Lost Ones are most dangerous in the sewers, which is where you must go to escape the heat and avoid breathing in the radiation.

- How to kill a Lost One 101 -
A shot directly in the head will kill a Lost One, that is the only known way to kill one. Shooting a Lost One anywhere but the head will weaken them, but not kill them.
