For centuries humans and dragons have kept to themselves for numerous reasons, historical and prideful. For one, many, many territorial disputes. As both dragons and humans advance, it's only natural to expand territory to accommodate the needs of their people and advancements. Pride and greed only fueled this rift between their kingdoms, as dragons believed themselves to be the rightful rulers of the land and sneered at the thought of making room for humans who would ruin the land. People, meanwhile, believed themselves to never be safe around the presence of the mythical creatures, and grew greedy with the thought of taming or taking down such a powerful beast. So they kept to themselves. People and dragons rarely crossed paths, other than for battles and strife as their mistrust and anger grew as the generations crawled on. Until something quite… unusual happened. Fire was a rumble. Low, but loud enough to stir worry for there hadn't been a thunderstorm for a millenia. Then came bright streaks of lightning, cutting across the sky til they hit the earth hard enough to shake the ground. But there was no rain to follow. Many started thinking the world was ending. Hysteria rose, especially when the earth was pulled apart. The ground cracked. Split apart. From the crevices roared a bright white fire, hot enough that even the fire of dragons couldn't hope to rival it's might, and with the durability to counter any attempts to stifle it or put it out with water or otherwise. Last came the creatures. Bright beings, who glew with the same ferocity of the flames, but with eyes of dark void black and enough power to take down a dragon alone. It wasn't long until both kingdoms were under siege, drastic enough they called to the other for help. Under great reluctance, the rulers of the human kingdom and dragon kingdom have sent their crown heir and a handful of knights and townsfolk to try and find the solution while they hold ground against this unseen threat and perhaps offer them some more protection against the bright beasts who threaten them. Even if they fall, they will still have a future. But will this weird mixed group be able to work past years of bad blood and difference, or will they fall alongside their kingdoms? The decision is yours. |

- T H E | K I N G D O M S - Humans The humans, for now, are all united under a single kingdom with the rule of a king and queen. They have led this kingdom to prosperity and great bounty, however have been getting more anxious about the dragons and an eminent attack. The kingdom is very large and crime rates are at a low, and many traders, merchants, and mercenary groups come and go to keep the economy steady. The castle the royals live in has a courtyard open to all their people where they can mingle with humans of all classes and listen to their worries. The kingdom is patrolled regularly by knights, however the lower class areas tend to be neglected. Dragons - T H E H U M A N S - - - T H E D R A G O N S - No types. No classes. Go crazy. Some restrictions - Dragons cannot have two abilities that contradict one another (ex. An ability that heals, and an ability that destroys or kills someone / something) - Dragons cannot have two abilities that are different elements (ex. A dragon who uses water and fire powers, however a dragon who uses fire and hypnosis is viable) - All dragons are weak to silver, no matter the ability or scale hardness they may possess - Dragons cannot fly without wings. This means no legend of Zelda style levitation - Make your dragons powers make sense with their appearance. It doesn't make sense for a dragon to be able to flash bang, but doesn't possess some sort of scales or coat that allows them to do such. Nor does it make sense for an aquatic based dragon to not have any gills or at least a restriction to how long they can hold their breath. Make them make sense - Aging Dragons age quickly within the first 10 years of their life. So after 10 years dragons are actually around 30 years old. After that then they start aging at human standards. Generally, they live to be around 500 years old, but there have been cases of dragons aging many years past that. 100 is pretty young in dragon years, while 150 is when they reach young adult status - P A I R I N G - There is no instinctual or soul bond. More so reluctant alliances. Dragons and humans have paired due to maybe a similarity in interest or they have a good personality together. Others were paired because they don't care or everyone else was already chosen. For this roleplay, I would like everyone, human or dragon to reach out to make pairs |
