| Personality When you think of a detective, what do you think of? A dark, smoky room, a half-empty bottle, regrets and blood? You've just defined Detective Monroe. Grizzled, sardonic, and cynical, he's seen the worst of the world and shows it. He's a quiet type, brooding and taciturn. He's fighting the demons inside, the regrets, the inner urges, and the overwhelming attraction to that feeling fermented fruit gives him.
Monroe's a mysterious wolf, but everyone knows that he used to work with the Mods before something happened, somebody was betrayed, and he's harbored a grudge against Mods ever since. He worked as a P.I. for most of his life. He got into the criminal side of things. When he got a marriage proposal from one of his clients, he accepted and went into the mafia business. He struggled for years to keep Sera, but she ended up divorcing him, marrying Albano, and then running off.
Monroe wears a white suit and fedora to sing, and a black trenchcoat and fedora to work.
Preferences Monroe left La Cosa Nostra when it disbanded, as circuses are wont to do. He followed the Sanza brothers to their new home in the shadows in the mist, and decided to stay and help Maria keep the twins out of trouble.
The skills he honed as a detective for La Cosa Nostra ensured Monroe had a smooth transition into his new pack. But that doesn't mean every wolf accepted him wholeheartedly. Faded and Weary is distantly polite, his ever-present paranoia of being blind-sided for once close to accurate. Even when they were in La Cosa Nostra there was distance between Galdo and Monroe, a fact which has not changed with their move. Winter and Summer are as aloof as always. Monroe hates Invictus's wandering ways, as he thinks it may draw unwanted attention back to the pack and to himself and the Sanzas. While Monroe is grateful for Maria's help in acclimating the twins to their new pack, he can't rest easy until he knows her true purpose for being in the shadows in the mist. Monroe dislikes Storm and Fury for the same reasons Garnet and Quartz does, namely that his clinical approach to killing is extremely unnerving. Finally, Shadow and Rust was the only leader to oppose Monroe's entrance into the pack and he still bears a grudge against her for that.
