With all the pups my pack breeds I'm frequently sorting through pups while more are coming in. Interestingly, the pups appear just before the labor alert (which is really a birth notification). And for that first minute or so they each show up as rarity score: 0, generation: 0.... before their actual stats have time to load and the labor alert comes through.

As someone who owns both a GSD and a black lab, I recommend the snake. I adore my GSD but I'd only get one if you are willing to pay for a groomer and to brush at home between visits. Both of my boys are have incredibly high prey drive and a lot of energy. The snake won't leave hair tumbleweeds on your bed ;)
