((Typing for the second time because i deleted my whole entry on accinestt QwQ)) Everyone was rather talkative in the office today. It was the last day of 1935 and people were discussing all sorts of plans for celebrating. Any efforts to complete any work today were forfeited. Kolton had given up quite some time ago reading up on his reports because he simply couldn't exist with the noise. Kolton couldn't even talk to his desk neighbor, who was late to work. An odd sight at the height of a major economic collapse. Instead, he resorted to people-watching. Many interesting fellows walked through the large sand-blasted glass doors of the Willheld Magical Enforcement Department, and Kolton looked at them to pass the time, un-thinking. Until a familiar figure passed him by, a body that looked very similar to the handsome Detective Malachi Travis, one of the youngest in his unit. Kolton's eyes traced over his broad shoulders and tried to resist staring at the curve of his waist when he sat down at the desk across from his own. "Ah! The elusive Detective Travis arrives at last. It's quite festive today isn't it?" Kolton nods his head towards the group of people brainstorming about which hidnest bar they'd be visiting tonight. |

Travis had left his house late, rushing down the street as he tried to pull his coat sleeve up his arm. He had overslept, exhausted from the excess of paperwork he'd spent hours doing during the night. He had everything he'd finished and still had to complete shoved messily between his arm and chest, trying not to let anything slip from his grasp as he hurried to work. - Arriving at the building, he slowed down a bit, fixing his askew black-rimmed glasses and stacking his papers into a nstuff cheekser pile. Malachi quickly looked at himself in a puddle that sat on the strstuff cheeks before deciding his appearence was good enough, and he climbed the stairs into the detective agency. - Travis made his way quickly through the building, greeting his co-workers on the way to his office. He entered quietly, sinking into his desk stealthily. Setting his papers down on his desk, he looked over as his desk neighbor greeted him. "'Ello there Detective Tien. And yes sir, it is. Are you going to join them?" he smiled, looking around at the others who were celebrating the end of the year. At the moment though, Travis couldn't particulary join. He had one final document to quickly fill out and sign and he'd have everything finished to turn into the boss on time. Fiddling around with his stack of papers, he found the one he needed and started writing down the information needed. |

Kolton smiled at him, "Unfortunately no, I'll probably stay in the office for the rest of the night, but that's alright I didn't have any plans anyway ha." "What about you? Do you have plans for tonight Mr. Travis?" Kolton continued his work as he spoke, there was much to do tonight and very little time to do it. He sighed, looking at the high stacks of paperwork that littered his desk. "I'm sure you have many girls lined up for a date with you on New years haha," he teased, feeling slightly uneasy. He had no idea why, but the thought of some girl clinging to his arm made Kolton feel jealous almost... "Oh! We're to go to Chief Jackson's office today. He has some things to discuss. I believe we're due at noon so in about 20 minutes?" |

Travis listened as Kolton spoke, going through his paperwork as fast as he could while still trying to keep his attention on the other man. "Nope, no plans for me either. Too much work to do and I've already finished everything at home." He glanced over at Kolton quickly before his eyes trailed back to his paper. "I wouldn't say so," he chuckled. "I don't think I'd want to even if a girl asked me on a date." It was true, surely, that he had multiple reasons for not wanting to accept a woman's date proposal. First of all, he didn't think himself a very suitable partener with all the work he did, and he just wasn't too into dating, from what he knew of himself at least. He just never really found girls that intresting. - "Chief Jackson? Ah- okay. 20 minutes sounds good." His voice trailed away as his writing sped up. He thought he'd had at least a bit more time to finished his work, but now he was really starting to scurry down the paper, and within 10 minutes he'd finished the last few details needed, sighing and stacking the paper on top of the others. |
