Does summer effect explore like winter and fall, or is it the same as spring?

The only season that is effected differently is winter.

Spring, summer and fall are the same as each other in explore

Actually, we have different art for all the seasons in explore.

Some biomes have more variety. (Jungle doesn't vary much, but Forest does)
