Tragedy dodges the attack and skids away with a hiss, the spikes along his spine rattling like a rattle snake with his teeth bared. With quick thinking, he knows he must protect his pets first. With a swift movement, he launches up in the air away from the creature and draws a bow and some arrows, keeping away from the creature so the pets aren't in danger.

You follow the hoofprints for a while, but the ground quickly goes hard and they fade into obscurity. However, as you continue on the trail, you soon see something laying across it... a large canine body, it's fur slowly billowing in the wind. Fungi growing from its mouth and open wounds. But it looks like there's a large pouch of pinecones around his neck.
